Hi,
When trying to create a new character, there is a bug when zooming at it. When you zoom in, the character goes too much down the screen, and we can’t see it well.

I agree with you. But you also have not to forget all of those ‘in the middle’. What about people who bought the game like 2 weeks ago, or during the previous sale ? “Only a sith deals in absolutes.”

What isn’t fair is what Anet did with the FAQ page. They tried to make people think they would need the core game to play the expansion to make them buy, and then just modified it for pre-orders. Even if it might make them more money, this is more like a trick. A good seller is someone who’s honest with his clients, and who’s taking care of them. Well, they didn’t this time…

Concerning the pricing, I think it is more or less fair, but honestly, they could have integrated the char slot in the basic version. They knew everyone would like to play the new profession, and would like another slot. So they’re just putting it to the 75 bucks version to make people buy it instead of the basic one, and also justify it with other junk items… I wouldn’t hesitate if the basic version had a char slot, and by thinking of the best value for money, I thought about the Ultimate. But I won’t finally buy any of them cause 100$ is definitely too much. I’m really not used to buying games at more than 30$.

Well I also think it is a bit expensive. Would be better 1 euro for 100 gems. They should also make it possible to buy only 400 gems for 5 euros !

The fact is that gems are far too expensive to buy wih real money compared to what we can byu with them imo. Who’s ready to pay 10€ for a virtual outfit ? I’m not. I don’t know if I would even buy them if it was half that price.

Honestly, I’d buy an outfit for about 3-4€, same for weapon skins.

Not sure if much more people would make purchase with real money if prices were that low, nor if it would be more profitable for Anet.

This way however, gems to gold rate would probably decrease (more people buying gems with money to then convert into gold).

Yeah that’s allright. I have almost same specs, just a GTX970M but 8GB of RAM. I usually have 70fps (if I don’t limit the fps) with many things on High/Ultra. For my personal comfort, I usually limit the fps to 60 or 30 to limit heat.
But no doubt it will run the game smoothly.

Hi,

I think we really have to wait for it and test it to be able to give a proper feedback. Many traits have been merged, so you probably wouldn’t have taken 2 of the same level anymore.

However I do agree this kind of makes it restrictive. From what I’ve seen from the stream, you almost have to take certain traits to fit how you want to play (condis, burst, interrupt, etc). So hybrid builds could unfortunately disappear… I’d like to be able to take 2 Master traits and no Grand Master…

I really don’t understand how they can pretend this new system will bring more diversity, when it is definitely more restrictive. You can’t even invest 2 points in the branch you want. Many people will certainly end up with exact same builds, even if it is already more or less the case.

Problem is if you die when you defend your lord, such a long respawn time gives you no chance to come back. Lord’s death coming ! Defending is already hard…

I totally agree. 7v7 or 8v8. 10v10 is too much, 5v5 not enough. Because like other mentionned, there are too many objectives to follow when you are only 5 players. You can’t defend npcs, gates and lord, eventually use treb, kill npcs, gather supplies, and kill other players effectively. You end up running alone many times excepted when the whole team goes at the lord, where finally all players go to attack/defend.

Even if you were doing something and you see your teammates need your help, you cannot usually run fast enough to be at the right place at the right moment. I’ve been destroyed in 3v1 few times, while being completely alone other times.

2-3 people more in each team whould be better since you could team-play a lot more imo. NPCs should however be slightly more resistant to support that dps income (not too much, game isn’t about NPCs, and there would be 2-3 other guys to defend them).

Also agree on the fact to put it in a different queue since it might demand different builds/equipments (or give us the BUILD SAVE AND SWITCH FUNCTION we want so much !!!).

Hey !

I think both of them could suit you. I’d suggest you to try both in pvp just to see their skills (even on training golems) and make a choice. They are both very useful in PvE, despite some might say elementalist is a bit more versatile.

If you don’t mind always swapping between your attunements, but have no weapon swap, which means staying either close, or middle range, elem could be a good choice.
If you prefer to be able to change close to middle range in a fight, then go guardian. Consider that guardians can equip more weapons than elem as well. Both can do very good damage, and have good support.

Also pay attention to the look you like most, cause one is light and the other heavy armor, so skins are different.

Hey !

Concerning the system to save traits, I entirely agree, I’d like to see something similar to save you gear + weapons + traits by the way, it would be soooo convenient to switch between PvE/World Boss/WvW. I personally don’t have any issue with the graphics, your configuration or internet connexion might be a possible problem…

Then concerning the Zerker meta, I agree, and even if I like to get 10g very easily with dungeons, I have to say that the stacking strategy is really a fun-killer… What’s the point of attracting a boss in a small area and bashing him by spamming your skills ? Just ask yourself : would you do it if you had no gold at the end ? Probably not, so it’s certainly not for the fun it brings. But I have great expectations about what HoT will bring. We’ve seen interesting stuff, like the raw-damage resistance of certain types of mordrems against which conditions are more effective. The same principle could be applied to dungeons to avoid the “only zerk” meta. Also I’d like to see more strategical fights, like we’ve seen a bit with the vinewrath and its champions (open flowers, don’t kill other minions, break a bubble at the right time, etc). AoE damage are also great against packs. Hopefully we’ll see more of these mechanics in HoT, cause admit the only-zerker-pack is ridiculous and not funny !

Hi,

It’s been a while now since the pvp map “Raid on the Capricorn” has been removed. I’d really like to play it again, even without any modification.

I think the map was really beautiful and well designed, excepted maybe for the submarine fights issue. Everything was created. Removing it is just throwing this work away.

There are not so many maps in pvp, and I think this one could be quickly re-designed to become a great one. Just put the underwater capture node on the ship, and add kind of a minor event in the water, like a single strong shark which would give the team a bonus upon kill (just as Svanir and the Chieftain on Nifhel).

Minor work to bring it back and make many players happy ! Those who don’t like it… Just don’t play it !

I’ve already reported on this topic to anet at least 3 times now.
Two of those times being with much larger threads than this current one.

I do not believe freezing the water will be a good idea….It’s a tropical beach not Siberia, Russia or Northern Canada….

Some of the popular suggestions I’ve seen on this include:
1) Draining the water and hiding Point B on top of the ship’s Deck
2) Re-add underwater combat and remove the Hostile Sharks
3) Make the water Shallow and only go up to the players chest and make Point B the middle of the lake.

Thanks for your feedback. That’s right it is a tropical map, ice would be strange. The other proposed options are very good though ! Don’t understand why they don’t do it if so many people want it back… At least custom arena, where Skyhammer and Courtyard are also here whereas many players don’t like them !

Hey !

I agree pvp could have more game modes, but the extension will bring a new one (Stronghold).

- The free-for-all is a very bad idea imo, as this game is more focused on teamplay. Moreover, classes have different roles despite the lack of trinity, so some builds would just be useless in such a game mode, which won’t bring diversity at all.
- Team Deathmatch : we already have the Courtyard, but they could work later on more maps I agree. If such a thing happens, it would be nice to separate capture mode from deathmatch.
- Hardcore TDM : I disagree as high sustain classes only will be viable (war, engies, and eles would be the only viable options?)
- Assault and Protect : why not. I still disagree on the definitive death principle though. I’d see it more like something that exists in another game (WoW, don’t blame me). An offensive team has siege golems (like Vinewrath) and has to break down some gates to reach an objective to capture/ something to destroy. The defensive team has to protect gates and objective. At the end of the day, it looks prety much like the new Stronghold, excepted that in the latter, both teams are offensive and defensive. I just hope they will create more maps with nice mechanics for this !

Yeah I agree. Place the cap node on the ship, freeze the sea = problem solved.
Even without freezing the sea, not placing anything underwater would solve the issue.

Thief stealth mechanics are getting old

Learn how to counter them. Aoe, heavy condi, CC, keep on pressuring them, there’s nothing impossible, even if they have many ways to disengage. A thief who’s not killing anything and always flee and come back for 2-3 shots is quite useless, isn’t he ?

I’ve personally been surprised with the stealth mechanics when I started playing the game, but after all, it is different from other games, and I believe that’s a good thing. I now like it a lot, and don’t want to see it disappear because few people don’t manage to fight thieves and think it’s broken… Every class has something powerful I guess.

Well, I don’t really like the idea, because it would become a lot easier to interrupt other players in pvp, or dodge their key skills. And we’re already supposed to be able to detect this from their animations, which encourages you to keep an eye on your opponents rather than on skill bars and other interfaces. My opinion at least.

I like the idea of adding a lore on the loading screen. And you’re right, I prefered the previous format of it. The spinning wheel isn’t a problem to me though.

WvW Tournament - can we get one now?

YES please ! It might be my biggest wish at the moment to have some more interest in WvW. Don’t know what’s exactly going on in T1 league, but if the problem is due to server transfers, they could just block this function during the tournament period, so that everyone stays in the server he chose before the beginning.

Yes sure, I meant ambush, sorry I was tired. ^^

And yes, I thought about this particularly with the center jungle. Sure it won’t stop people from zerging, and I think we have to keep some zergs, cause some people like them, but we could also think about other means to escape or attack these zergs. For example, a little group could hide in a bush and attack a zerg from behind, or something. Could be fun.

With new environments, there should be other places to hide, like sand falls, lava or rocks.

Hello everyone,

From what I’ve seen from the HoT WvW, new maps will present more environmental details. What I propose is to exploit these details to extend the gameplay and the strategic dimension.

For example, bushes could host a certain number of players (depending on the size of the bush), whose names wouldn’t appear in red above their head, making them harder to see by enemies. This way, small groups could just hide in vegetation to ambush other players, or use it as another way to escape from a fight. They would be still visible, but a lot less, as you often see characters thanks to their red names.

Maps are too low detailed at the moment to have such a possibility, but we can think that HoT will bring more forests, more trees, more boulders, etc to have less fights in big flat lands (but still some). Maybe that would also encourage players to form smaller groups instead of running zergs.

What do you think about it ?

Everything is in the title. We no longer have a black lion key upon reaching lvl 10 unfortunately. Don’t know if we still have the one as reward at lvl 50 or something tough. Another thing the patch brings and we haven’t been aware of.

Camera is fine, however, what we see in the video with the arrow cart isn’t… Arrows should be blocked by walls and every other obstacle ! Killing everyone beyond the wall like that is a non-sense.
