LOL
+10 cool pts for Roborovskii.7635!
I cant seem to get past this point. I think one should make slide-jump to tower, but alas i couldnt get it done =\.
Video from OP will be much appreciated.
Hehe unfortunately my computer is from the 19th century, and thus any video I made would be measured in frames per minute and be equivalent to a slideshow
But that is one of the steps, so good work!
Try and get up here!
Those who achieve this will get +10 cool points :P
Just did it again and was sent to the correct spot this time, so now I’m not so sure. Maybe it has something to do with overflows?
Though as far as I’m aware, this issue was nonexistent pre-patch.
Can’t be bothered to write an essay: screen says all
Shame, I have 16 stacks too =/
Considering that games like WoW or Aion make you wait hours or days before you can do certain instances another time, the existence of DR isn’t bad in that it “doesn’t exist in other games.”
However the problems I have with it is that Anet will not tell us exactly how it works, and as it stands now, I often have problems forming guild teams for dungeons because no one wants to come along because they’re “under DR” or because everyone’s DR schedules conflict.
At the moment what we’re doing is all logging on at daily reset time and then running 4 dungeon paths, and waiting 2 hours while scheduling other activities for those 2 hours like WvW or character development and then doing another 4 paths, etc
GW1 had Shadow Form.
What is stealth?
You said "In GW1, you actually fought mobs. In GW2, you skip everything. "
I said there was more skipping in GW1.
You said “You still killed a lot of stuff in DoA/FoW/Deep/Urgoz. The only place you did tons of skipping was UW. None of those were on the level of skipping you can do in GW2, where you can finish an Arah path by only killing 1 or 2 mobs.”
I destroyed that argument^ (because, YES in GW1 a hell of a lot more skipping was possible than there is in this game)
So the above is relevant… how?
^I don’t think you played with high-end guilds in GW1
I rest my case.
To all those crying about this being an ‘exploit’
I found a dev in game and he was nice enough to answer my question as to whether ArenaNet viewed this flipping as an exploit, he said “not as far as he knows” and his exact advice to players was “get it while it’s hot :p”
So thank you^ we have
As the title asks, when is the revamps coming. I’ve enjoyed dungeons mostly. However after running through all of them, and grinding the gear I like, there’s not much motivation to run through these again. I mean they ARE fun to me. BUT I’d like to make some actual progression towards legendary weapons/other high end skins. I feel like most of this could be fixed by adding guaranteed drops (UW/FOW would guarantee random shards/ectos) in the mobs. I think you were heading in the right track with the wondrous goods, however 3 tokens and an insignificant amount of karma isn’t cutting it.
What my guildies do is we use our excess tokens now to craft the rare hats and other things that’re 30 tokens each and then salvage for ectos. I guess that counts as progression towards legendary items. Dungeon runs are actually very profitable IMO.
Are you bloody joking? That’s like saying consets shouldn’t be used in GW1. They were there for a purpose: to make things less tedious. In GW2, consumables are here to make things less tedious and a bit more entertaining. Same principle. They exist to inspire player ingenuity in getting around tough situations, rather than being railroaded into a certain playstyle. If a content designer believes that there should be only one way to get through an obstacle(his way), then he’s not doing a very good job at being a content designer. Doing so makes the content have zero entertainment and is a sign that the person in question is not particularly innovative. Tedium does not equal fun.
In a game about combat, having the most efficient way to reap the most rewards being “avoid combat”, something is seriously wrong.
You can’t compare GW1 to this. In GW1, you actually fought mobs. In GW2, you skip everything. I’m not saying that you should be forced to fight all the trash in a dungeon, because it is currently not worth the effort. In the future, the trash should be worth the effort.
Sorry you are too short-sighted to see anything past the current situation. I want this game to gradually increase in difficulty as GW1 did. I don’t want spy kits or other gamebreaking consumables to trivialize the efforts of the developers.
LOL? Which GW1 did you play? Cuz we couldn’t have played the same one. In GW1 there was a TON more skipping than what’s going on in this game. In GW1 people would sell runs of missions and elite areas.

This was very useful (especially for me since changing chars on my 19th century pc results in 2 year load times). Doubt anyone cared about the clipping issues after all the convenience it provided.
This is an exploit? I thought it was just game mechanics… The way to get ectos has always been to salvage rares/exotics… and they added new rares to the game… I don’t see the problem
Like I said “by the time you read this” :P
Hello everyone, I’ve written a guide, How to make 1 glob of ectoplasm, into stacks of ectoplasm over at Guild Wars 2 World Records!
Enjoy, and Happy Wintersday!
P.S. I had to make the first link a bit.ly link because these forums don’t redirect URLs properly if they contain &’s.
Yeah, when they actually fix it.
Hehe
You should really get them out of dungeons, they’re doing a lot of harm to the game.
Um, no.
You can avoid every non-combat event in the game with a spy kit. Do you think it is skillful and adds to the game by being allowed to get past content that your group might not be capable of doing?
Example 1: Snowblind fractal. The Svanir waves at the first big bonfire are actually quite dangerous when you get to high difficulties, but it doesn’t matter, because you can just spy kit and do it without killing anything.
Example 2: Dredge. The button cage event is also pretty difficult when you get higher up, but same thing, spy kit and don’t kill a thing.
Example 3: Stealth ressing. You are almost never threatened by a party wipe when you can just stealth res anyone that dies.
And who knows what else it will trivialize in the future.
I’ve never thought of it as “taking the skill out of” or “trivializing” the game, I think of it as an item for people (like me) who would rather not spend 2 hours in dungeons killing trash mobs. I don’t know about you but besides from being a waste of time, killing everything becomes annoying and boring after a while.
They have a jumping puzzle in AC that’s unfinished… no idea what it’s for or if it’s something like this? Should be interesting though
Every time I hear about Spy Kits and Portal Guns, I cringe.
Lmao I hope this doesn’t foreshadow their removal!
You should really get them out of dungeons, they’re doing a lot of harm to the game.
Um, no.
Thanks everyone, glad you find it interesting.
But power, idk if this would really be considered record worthy :P It is probably the fastest time this dungeon path has been and will of been completed, but I would not say it is legit enough to be considered a worthy record!
All-time path 3?
Sometimes that happens and then a day later after you wake up you have gold waiting for you in the pickup tab. Idk, I say wait it out a bit, it’s always been pretty accurate.
They’re really not that hard…
They stickied this thread and said the system is being worked on but until then you can get similar functionality from a third party: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/STOP-lf1m-posts-use-lfg-site
Yup, definitely got excited when I find ToA during BWE1 xD
Have you seen the oasis near Whisperwill Waypoint (Bloodtide Coast)? It’s really pretty but my screens wouldn’t come out as good as yours (keep game on low settings :P)
Path 1 & 3 are fine- did em last night
Lol ye not happening, people would just run by because it’d be more trash mobs
Interesting… Always good when they finally fix it so you can post video without feeling like you’re gonna get banned :P Like CoF… Now next step, go claim a record :P!
Are you drunk? This is thousands of times easier than the clock tower. It is much slower, much higher margin of error, and much less laggy.
I did quite a few hundred runs of UW in gw1 so definitely a fan, but I disagree with making it for 10 people… It’s hard enough right now to get 5 guildies interested in doing a dungeon together because of conflicting DR schedules and other crap
I disagree. Sometimes you get people that REALLY need to be kicked, but maybe the solution would be to turn of kicking once a dungeon is over?
But until then: Wait until the end of the dungeon to argue with them?
/solved
Those actually are some nice screenshots you’ve got there…nice work
Hello everyone,
Today I present to you, Guild Wars 2 World Records (located at gwscr.com). Formerly known as Guild Wars Official Speed Clear Records, this is now the Guild Wars 2 World Records website, and community discussion forums.
It is a site for guilds and individuals to share and claim ownership of accomplishments (records as we call them). In the past it has proven very competitive and has had a massive guild following from the high-end pve community.
Think your guild completes CoE the quickest? Prove it!
Think you can beat the listed times? Go out and try, and then post it and prove it!
Guild Wars 2 World Records adds a new dynamic to end-game content and gives interested guilds an additional objective!
How it works:
After registering for an account at GWSCR.com, in addition to partaking in various discussion, you’re free to post in the records section and claim a record. Typically you would post a starting screenshot of the dungeon/area you’re claiming a record in with the in-game /age command visible, and then another /age screenshot at the end. This is so that the total time spent in the area can be determined by subtracting the difference of your account /age. In addition to receiving feedback from the community, your thread will be checked by our staff, and if it passes the checks, it will be added to the records table on our home page, and possibly overwrite a previously achieved record! The rules are simple and can be viewed in full, here.
GWSCR.com history:
End game PvE players of the original Guild Wars series had long sought to complete zones in the game as fast as possible. With the release of Eye of the North and subsequent PvE-only skills in 2007, the practice of rushing end game content evolved into what was was called the “Speed Clear.” With the speed clear came the idea of records- player achievements focusing on who could rush areas the fastest and with the most intuitive tactics. GWSCR.com was born on September 21, 2011 and was quickly adopted by the speed clear community. At the peak of our activity, our over 400 members, made approximately 7000 posts resulting in the cataloging of over 500 records!
Go inside the Chantry of Secrets. That seems to work for everyone
I really want to play Hylek one day (ye it’s a race but w/e)
Always wanted to play chronomancer...
I was in the middle of loading eternal battlegrounds when a power cut killed my router/internet connection. Naturally the game said ‘connection error’ or something, and I closed it. The internet has kicked back in, I’m able to post here, browse web, connect to GW1 etc, but everytime I open the GW2 client it says “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…”
Any ideas?
Bump… I think it’s a bit unfair to restrict players who blindly joined orders without knowing their associated weapons/armor families because the wiki is still in its infancy
If I knew choosing one order over the other would lock me out of the armor style I wanted, I would have completely disregarded roleplay to choose the corresponding order to look how I wanted. Alas, I resent picking the order I thought suited my character because now I currently cannot look the way I want.
Hoping for the ability to change orders.
THIS THIS THIS!
A lot of players like myself chose orders just when the game started without knowledge of their corresponding armor/weapons, it’s a bit too late for us to change for the skins we prefer, and no one really wants to remake their characters -_-
I chose Priory on ele becuase eles/wizards are supposed to be intelligent/knowledgeable w/e. Then I saw the terrible “historical” weapon skins…and really would rather have the whispers weapon skins.
Guardian I put in whispers, but I think the vigil armor is the only heavy armor in game that I like
/sigh
Even if we can’t change orders, I think after having 3 characters complete the 3 diff orders/personal story, complete characters should have the option to buy armors/weapons from other orders and not be locked out of skins they like because the game/wiki was in its infancy
Lolwut… People were doing the gw1 areas in <20 minutes
Hi, I’d like to share my suggestions to improve queue’s particularly the WvW ones.
a.) Is it possible to have the Guild Wars 2 client flash like an instant messaging program when minimized to the task bar? I and a lot of people do other things while queueing. It’s a tad inefficient having to stare at the game while waiting on 2 hour queues because you don’t want to miss the pop-up.
b.) Could we see the position in the queue? I don’t know, at the top left with the WvW queue icon?… 3/200 or whatever.
Thanks for reading!
Think they should just glow period, day or night. Cuz the skins are pretty ugly without the glow.
I totally agree with the OP. Twilight is the only thing that might be worth all the materials it takes to craft these things. The bifrost for example looks like an albino pineapple on a bonestick with some crappy rainbow swirl.
This is all doable already (it’s called organization and planning) and Guild Halls are coming.
Think they should also lower the rate at which some of these events respawn. For e.g. the event chain that contests CoF. On empty-ish servers they can prove super annoying, and even on full servers the dungeon is contested 2 out of 3 times you go to it.
@OP: Do you do GW1 characters? And you only do portaits? What about full body shots? Willing to commission
@OP: Idk I want the armor too but I find it too long and boring, especially with this bugged DR system…I’m sure when they fix that there’ll be an overall jump in dungeon activity again
@DeadlyStormZ: Happened a few times to my teams too but it’s easy to fix, just stack conditions
