When we started playing Dungeons we wiped 11+ times on 1st boss on AC story… now we do all 3 explorable in 1h10-1h30. We are not “elite” or “pro” or whatsoever, on first explo tryies we even had to gave up on burrow events cuz they where so hard we thought they are just OP… but we just learned, learned, learned how the enemys work, how our tem work, how combo fields work, how we could support ourselves etc.

This is not the game were You go and do with a pug even You 1st time or second becouse when You learn how it will be to easy and boring.

Seriously... Please fix Arah!

So if I get You right. All party should go full Berseker/Rampager and full trait offensive, utility offensive and just do nothing but DPS-the-hell-out-of-her for only this particular boss ?

If that’s what the mechanic demands “go full nuke builds and gear or fail” I’ll just won’t ever go on path 4 becouse I never played and never will play glass cannon builds (I find them stupid and idiotic, but love meeting them on WvsW the die sooo nice – It’s only my personal opinion) and so others from my team.

If we can beat up every other boss in every other dungeon with our party but not that one “cuz You have to out dps her” so that path is just not for ur

Yesterday me and my guildies went to Arah… yay at last we where LUCKY that the @#*$&^ gate was not bugged (for me it was first time on explo, but still didn’t finish personal cuz after the run gate bugged again :/)…

We gone path 3, fought Lupicus – EPIC great boss omg the words just stuck in my mouth :O – the fight experience felt great “do not make mistakes, or go to hell*” It felt great to kill such a monster I had fun fun fun love Lupicus! MOAR bosses like that please

Next path 4 it Was fun until we got to Simin… I mean “what the hell” ? After 4-5 invis phase we decided to search the forums/youtube for some answers. We tried and tried and tried multiple tactics with sparcles, with dpsing the “hidden” priestess unfortunetly we wasted 4-5 hours total we manage to get the sparks near altar in 6 seconds and wasted 20 to get the @#&^$% balls in it’s place they just didn’t want to get to their places… after that experience, just left Arah… I don’t think I will go there again becouse experiencing bugs does not motivate one to play even for nice looking armor/weapon sets, also I won’t recommend any of my friends to go there for any path other than 3.

After that terrible experience we did CoF (1,2 too demotivated for 3 from Arah…) and HoTW only 1st, and wanted to do AC explo all 3 paths from 3 starting. CoF went nice, we were just angry at stupid NPC AI in 2nd path with flame-extingushers. HoTW path 1 @ troll boss a pack of wolves from upstairs just pulled (WTF how ?) and at the end of the all things AC path 2 Detha bugged at cannon event… we had enough of it… and just log out demotivated.

I’m trying to be calm trying to explain myself “ok the team has a lot of work with the game, it’s still fresh etc.” but for someones-holy’s sake those bugs appear from the very begining and the team is busy with events (helloween) and new content(lost shores) and next events(winter), well I really like them they are fun well made it can be seen hot much heart they have but now they ended and what do we do now where most of the Dungeons are bugged as hell and there is no light of hope that they will be fixed… and I mean fixed cuz some where fixed 2+ times and still the same thing bugs over and over and over.

To clarify not “bugs” themselves are annoying but I/we know bugs “are there” they are a part of MMOs it’s nothing new… but so much wasted time, so much disappointment that I… well we just log out from the game becouse the time we had was not fun… it was annoying and disappointing.

Yesterday we wached the interviev with someone from the GW2 team (sorry don’t remember the name) about the new dungeon and we were so exited about it but after today I’m afraid to even go there and experience new bugs wich won’t be fixed for several months

I really love the game and want to play it, want to help it evolve and support it… but there should be more fun than disappointment as for today it wasn’t fun.

Arah unable to access at all now!

This is such an annoying bug I’m really tired of it… I’m trying to finish my personal story for over 2 weeks(!).

Also when we want to form a party for weekend and try Arah explo it’s also broken.

I mean really ? For two weekends we are trying to have an epic jurney to Arah and we cannot becouse it’s bugged.

For how long ? I’m trying to lose hope

Yesterday I done it with my other character everything was fine, today I went same place did same things and the event does not appear.

Tried every scan 50 times running and spamming wasted 50 candy corn – the event just doesn’t start.

Edit: Wait it started after 30 min of spamming :/

Shatter, Did I Get It?

20-20-0-0-30 is squishy but You have so many survival ability it’s almost insane.
Vigor gives use more dodgeing, distortion (shatter) with 3 clones gives You 3 seconds of immortality, desperate decoy cloack at 25% from trait and decoy as utility, blink is amazing, if it get’s hard swap to staff any ethereal combo field (or chaos storm if not on cd) #2 skill inside and chaos armor, chaos armor from #4

It is really hard to die solo even with coupple od mobs on my face. Dungeons are different cuz You have 4 other peaple to use as decoys
So I take only blink and Feedback + Null Field to be usefull in my team.

I was running with Power/Precision/Condition Damage but i crafted yesterday the Valkyrie set, Berseker weapon, and power/precision/toughness jewelery.

the “*” are sometimes changed if a boss run like crazy – cripple, if damage is heavy cloack at 25%

With Critical Infusion and clone + dodge You’re a clone machine.

Illusionary persona adds another shatter effect. In addition F1, F2 (defalut) are aoe attack witch are awesome F3 is mainly for get down bosses “immune-to-cc-buff” and it’s 4 stacks with 1 shatter of F3!

It’s a really fast, dynamic and powerfull build. Love it in PvE and Dungeons.

Yes well… this build calculator is from “Version: BWE #1” so it is really outdated – traits changed since than.

Person 5: Sry guys got only 45lvl, I can only go AC/CM.
Person 1: K let’s do both story for gold and explore also becouse why the hell not.

We just go anywhere together to have a good time there is nothing like “sory I allready got all I wanted from somewhere”. Every game is fine, just play together with friends and have fun, chat on team speak and enjoy.

Dungeons are for lvl 80 Parties only ^^

I lol’d so hard! Sorry to destroy hope but that post gave me cancer.

We did AC explorable with 35-45 characters (it was harder than all 80 with all traits but it was done – team speak was crucial) At first trys it was hell, but now when we know how AC explo works, and we know how dungeons work we do some paths in 20-30 min. You just need to lern.

“avoid engineers they just dont do enough damage” did You ever saw a skilled granade build offensive engi ? He does HELL like aoe burst damage also applying and keeping up ~17-20 vournelability stacs.

“eles are just too squishy” – If they don’t know how to play stand in every crap boss toss on the ground and take every hit on their face with glass cannon than yes they are, like every other class playing like that…

If You are new to dungeons plz don’t read the first post… (or tommorrow pugs will be requiring “gear score” if You know what I mean).

Weakness is a powerfull condition. Like Sami wrote above endurance penalty is useless in pve, but the Fumble is really powerfull. I myself run a Control build with Mace+Shield/Hammer.

I didn’t notice any critical hits from dungeon mobs so 50% of all their attack has a chance to do 50% their full damage power.

@kandolo.2574 almost forgot about the Blast Finisher! Is gives all near party members greast unique boons.

They purpose is not for regen but the different buff types only. Like I said this is only an “example” You could give ur party Discipline and Tactics banner. Discipline alone is 4% crit chance + 10% crit damage (also from “2” an 8 second Fury).

Remember that this is not WoW and You are NOT the only one supporting Your team. If You are threated like a “only” healer/support than good luck with ur repair bill.

If You have 30% boon duration You will have 40% if You have 30% crit damage You will have 40%, if You have 46% crit chance You will have 50%.

If there numers are poor than don’t play with banners

Also if chased and got everything on CD You grab a banner (need to remember You will waste like 1 second to pick up) “4” to run the hell away from what is chasing You :P (all the autotargeting options should be off or You will autorun to the mob and not where You are facing…)

Support Warriors

I’ve tested the support Warrior and two things came to my attention one is the “Shout Support Warrior” witch I found… not really my playstyle, the build was similar to Aurodus.2068 and other builds.

The second one Was “Banner Support Warrior” wich I found more amusing (for my playstyle).

The build goes like this:

You can modify it as You want but 40% (10% banner) more Boon Duration keeps You perma-regeneration near banners. Combine it with Cleric armor, runes etc. And You got can be a great support in the party.

To your weapon set it really depends on the fight, You have to chose it wisely before a boss or some other event, but Warhorns (Tactics IX) is a really nice party booster to speed, vigor and taking down immobilize/slow from party in addition it converts conditions to boons, “Shake if Off!” is nice in heavy condition fights but sometimes I just take something else like Bolas for a 4 second(!) immobilize it really depends.

Mace + Shield is usefull for many many situations, when I’m out of endurance and do a “Stun Breaker” + “Shield Stance”. I also like “Defence V” to reflect the missiles back to mobs witch is extra damage to them, sometimes condition or cc.

Axe + Warhorn is the second weapon set, Axe is a good damage output, and the throwable slow “3” can be a life saver. Warhorn for condition migration and your party endurance refiller.

When range is needed I chance one to Bow or Rifle it depends on bosses mobility. If I need Shield more than Warhorn for a range fight i chose “Tactics 1” for tacrics “9” And take Bolas now I can stop the boss from moving more effective.

With weapon set You have to experiment to find what is good for You or the situation Your in.

For healing i like mending more. Banner Regeneration + Adrenal Health are allready good and in a heavy condition fight it is great.

For Elite, the banner ofc gets players up from downstate grands great boons.

Dungeons are not static fight in wich 1 build, 1 weapon set is good, You have to be flexible and after knowing what awaits You pick up the right weapons/utility etc.

Should Healing signet get a buff?

If You want to go healing, go healing!

Full exotic Cleric’s gear on 80 lvl it gives You (if I had count it right) 831 healing power (counted sword and shield also) add to this points from “Defense” traits – 250 in my case so it’s 1081 HealingPower, + 165 from Superior Runes = 1246.

Maybe if You take other things than rune sets You could have even more – didn’t search for it yet.

The Healing Singet itself is Healing Power * 0.0325 per second = 240 hp per second.

“Adrenal Health” for 3 adrenaline full bars 360 hp per 3 seconds (this trait doesn’t bonus from Healing Power, also let’s count it as 120 per second).

Banners give Regeneration also converting some conditions with warhorn’s “Quick Breathing” gives regeneration as well.

I’m also using Banner of Tactics, another 90 healing power.

Regenerarion is 5 + (1.562 * Level) + (0.125 * Healing Power) per second = 167 hp per second.

Healing Signet + Adrenal Health + Regeneration + Banner = 527 hp per second it is a lot.

So if the signet did 100-200 more hp per second it would be insane amount of heal of 750 hp per second.

Finding it hard to find a dungeon group

Our (guild) experience with dungeons was probably the same but ONLY and ONLY at the begining. So we trained on “story” modes first 4-5 dungeons AC, CM, TA, the dredge one – forgot name, and CoF.

First explorable dungeon Ascalon Catacombs was like “How the hell should we beat those guys ?” The boss pulls us with something and 1 shot us 15 times on a row. Also two or three we needed to give up on explorable paths with “burrows-event” with annoying skelts becouse we didn’t have an idea how to handle it, and tried for over an hour.

But after a while played explorable modes of AC or CM we found out how to play our professions effeciently. The “I go tanky You go heal” idea FAILED from the very begining – one player can’t keep the whole party “alive” while they just stand like training dummies and hit skills – everyone has to benefit his party in some way with boons/conditions or cc – the choice is Your’s. But if You go there only to do damage and nothing more You will fail.

After a while we learned how to manage crucial conidtions in harder group packs (like blind from necro fields or thief’s skills) and how to benefit from combo fields, also we learned how and when You need to dodge/block/evade a crucial boss skill to stay alive. Now most of them are “easy” to us but don’t let it fool You, a second of slack and You end up running from waypoint.

If You want to be succesfull You have to be coordinated with Your party and know how to play your profession or You fail.

Dungeons (some thoughts)

Hi,

I have some thoughts about the dungeon system what I like more or less.

1. Dungeons are hard ? Goooooooood ! Thank You ! Last time I had so much fun doing dungeons was in “The Burning Crusade”.

2. No “dungeon-sercher”! Thank You again! Gathering party, going at the dungeon door it’s the essence of MMO’s social aspect I adore the idea.

3. Camera work. This is sometime a frustrating thing, that fistly came in Caduceus Manor. First boss in story mode is annoying. It is so big, and the camera stucks at the mansion walls, also it’s hard to observe when he’s shooting rockets because he’s simply too big (for a range class like me, it’s easyier to see), and I cannot put the camera close to the max to see from my characters “eyes”.

It would be easyier if I could just zoom it, so my character won’t be covering the whole screen.

4. “Trash” mobs harder than bosses/champions. This is not as it supposed to be. Bosses are Bosses THEY are the ones supposed to be hard (many of them are, wich is great) but somemetimes when we at last arrive to the boss after 40 minutes of clearing hard like hell trash (like CM explo – buttler) we arrive to a boss witch is not boring but compared to the hard trash – just easy.

Now i “fear” trash mobs more than the boss himself.

5. Get rid of all mob “hit takeing animation”! This is what makes some attack impossible to forseen. Some mobs when being attack by 5 peaple shake like hell it’s a response animation to an attack but the mob shake like crazy even while casting somethting we should dodge/block/get away from.

What are your observation around those matters ?

This is what got cought by my eyes, but though all of this i really like the GW2 dungeon style a lot, and I see forward to see how this evolve.

Same here, we tried 2-3 times, and gave up. The event did not start. Sometimes it freezes even before the “chain pulling” event.

Logand is aggroing mobs from behind closed doors, making the fight hard like hell. Even explorable is easyier than this fight.

This thing wasn’t happening from the begining. We did CM story 2 weeks after launch and there was no such issue.

I also noticed many times that clones replace phantasms.

Had 3 Illusionary duelists summoned and used Illusionary Leap, a clone appeared and replaced one of my phantasms.

Illusionary Whaler – looks like a phantasm but does damage like a clone, does not grant rgeneration (from Phatasmal Healing), does not have Fury (from Phantasmal Fury).

Note, that this is a build base 50 SP are needed, the rest 20 You can modify it as You want.

I’m using it for PvE (leveling and dungeons) it has a god damage output, and You can modify some traits to even more survive ability.

Spending points in “Dueling” tree gives to this build more crit-chance and crit damage, but what is essential:
Critical Infusion, great for having perma vigor regen if you go for high crit chance as I do.
Phantasmal Fury, benefits the next passive trait wich is Sharper Images – every Illusion crit is a stack of bleed.

With “Inspiration” I want to boost Illusion/Phantasm survive ability and makeing them grant regeneration.

The last is “Illusions” to benefit from lower cooldown on all clone/illusion skills, more clones more damage (3% for each clone = 9%) and makeing the illusions cast abilites faster.

The rest is up to You.

5 more points in dueling to enchance the range of iDuelist, and lower the CC pistol skill.
15 more in Inspiration becouse a dead player is no use to the team.
Compounding Celerity gives the Mesmer more mobility wich he lacks.
Phantasmal Strenght does NOT stack with Empowered Illusion so You can’t have +30% damage for your illusions.
Shattered Condition will help You survive if You get too much of condition stacks.

For utility:
1. Blink is the skill I like the most, it brake’s CC and gives range between You and Your foe.
2. Archane Thievery – if the boss has some good boons to steal or
Decoy – Stun breaker + stealth
3. Signet of Illusions – for more HP 50% (+20% from traits)

If the damage output is to high, and the illusions die too often i skip both bonus HP bonuses and switch them with Null Field/Mirror Images and Persisting Images to Menred’s Purity. It depends on the fight.

For the healing I always use Ether Feast, becouse keeping illusions/clones it crucial.

Elite never changes Time Warp is a great cooldown for mobs that have to go down fast! Mainly it’s troublesome trash.

The second one was a bug of some sort I merged the hood with the begining mask and got a really nice effect – but it Was only until I log out
