It was working on Tarnished Coast last night if you want to server hop to there.
No, those of us who aren’t complaining about it haven’t hit it at all.
Yes, I’m level 80.
Yes, I’ve put almost 300 hrs into this game.
I would like to get a Legendary, but it’s not the highest thing on my goals. I’ve farmed quite a bit as you see from my post above.
I have seen diminishing returns on DE’s exactly once, when I knew I was standing in one place doing one event the whole time
Otherwise neither DE nor loot has changed for me.
see GW2 as a super huge coop action rpg.
but it isnt an “infinite solo quest”….
complainers will be complaining until they get what type of answer?
there is no “endgame” as in you get stronger and stronger.find some friends, play with them, and move on.
its a coop action rpg with 300-400h of content.
huge already!Well at least you were unbiased in your response. This does sadden me though as I know the game will NOT appeal to me at 80 and I really DO like the game now…I was really hoping there was something in the game to give level 80 players with interests similar to mine ( I dont want to run around and do achievements or complete the world exploration or craft). I want to engage in COMBAT oriented content and progress after 80. Oh well…another one bites the dust.

To me it sounds like the OP is not really playing the game but jsut whining to whine and stir the pot or has not done everything like he claims. he is not answering my question about explorer modes.
Are you referring to the outrageously difficult dungeons (due to no tank, healer concept, or any actual long duration CCs) that you run to die over and over again to finally down a boss to get nothing?
Yeah I tried that a few times.
Isn’t that the definition of what you want then? A challenge to do once you’ve done everything else and have gotten good at the game?
Also I have spoken to several guilds who, due to coordination and communication, have been able to get through those dungeons.
And you get tokens to use toward your better-skinned gear
I know that I did a much smaller route (Penitent, Shelter’s, Jofast) for 1-2 hours and didn’t get docked on the DE and didn’t notice any diminishing returns—got some green and gold items just before I left.
I did kill quite a few mobs in between each event, maybe that’s the difference?
How long did it take you to do the circuit? And did you stop to kill other mobs/harvest?
To level, do exploration and crafting. It gives stupid amounts of experience.
For gear, just run around the world. Maybe buy a couple MF food items (omnomberry bars cost just over a silver each and last 30 min for a 30% boost). Do the big DE’s with lots of enemies—Gendarra has a caravan that spawns every 10 min or so, Hirathi has all those Centaur events, Bloodtide has a dragon and a krait event, etc etc etc
Easy money, easy drops and easy gear.
You play the game to get gear, or pay money to get gear. It’s whichever way you find more fulfilling.
$ won’t get you any better gear than the person who played a few hours a day and crafted/found/TP’d the same items.
I hit 80 almost 2 weeks ago and I’m still having a blast. Only 58% world completion still because I keep getting sidetra—-OH LOOK DRAGON!
Not even done with my personal story, and just got my crafting to 400. Only done 1 dungeon
Also I’m at ~280 hours
That’s odd, I haven’t hit the anti-botting code yet. I was running between 3-4 events in Cursed Shore for an hour or two last night, still kept getting drops and full xp/karma while waiting for my friend to finish his personal story.
280 hours in and still having tons of fun
How long was the D3 AH down/broken/eating items? (or the entire game for that matter)
Why does there need to be something that is done only after you hit max level?
Farm fine crafting materials
It’s great up until the 30th time you’ve run through an area to get to another area—done Straights of Devastation about 5 times on my way to Cursed Shore, and I’m really tired of running through ALL THOSE RISEN…….
And one miscalculation and I’m dead and have to pay repair costs as well as TP cost sigh
263 hours on one character, level 80 for a while, not bored yet!
Raining men (sylvari) from the jumping puzzle in Dreamdark Enclave, and seeing 5-10 people all lying there dead (I was one of them). I laughed so hard…
I don’t know why I find that funny but I do.
In one random hour of farming that I did 2 days ago, I made over a gold by targeting creatures that drop fine crafting materials and selling them on the TP.
Farmed the same area/type of creature a few times since then, but mostly just been playing through the world in Orr, Frostgorge and the like (yes, lvl 80).
I’ve expanded my inventory slots, bank, bought ~40 ectos, and other mats to get my crafting to 400 on both professions, and still have ~6 gold left to spend.
Currently watching the gem price waiting to get a good one to get some gems for more expansion.
How about a reduced cost from WP to WP? So if you’ve taken the time to get OVER to a wp, then traveling to another is cheaper.
The top tier gems can only be crafted with recipes purchased with karma.
Sadly, I accidentally bought a recipe twice last week. It’s not much karma, I know but still! sadface
The ice elementals and sparks in that map don’t count either, Terkis. I was very sad.
www.gw2cartographers.com should show you the locations of the hearts. Compare it to your world map and you should find it a lot easier
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Anti-farm_code is how it worked in GW1. I would be surprised if something like this wasn’t in GW2. It’s there for a good reason.
If you’re an actual person, take breaks between your farming sessions, farm some other components, explore the map some more.
Kaz,
The point being made here is that not all discoveries have been made before that item disappeared. An example is that I can’t “Discover” a filigreed amber jewel that I didn’t do when I was still on Copper, because the amber pebbles don’t appear any more.
I haven’t needed to, so I didn’t much care, but I definitely have seen this happen.
No worries, I had to stare at it for a while to figure it out too.
You need 3 Embellished Brilliant Opal Jewels to discover that item. Look at the #/# info underneath each item’s square.
I think they were trying to keep it from getting too cluttered, because showing all of your past cooking items (for example) on the discovery pane would make digging through those quite inconvenient.
Is there possibly a filter for Show Only Those That Give XP, like there is with the recipe tab? I’m not at home so I can’t check.
No, there’s no filters in the discovery pane at all. Perhaps you’d agree that having the greyed items there wouldn’t be so hard to dig through if it auto-sorted for you? I’m thinking it could list all the greyed items first, followed by the red, and then followed by the currently useful items for discoveries.
Also, I’d like to add to this proposed UI change a tally at the bottom for players like follows…
Known recipes : 65
Recipes left to purchase/acquire : 29
Recipes left to discover: 93
Unknown recipes which can be discovered at current skill level: 12I know I would find that very useful.
Oh I have no problems with having even unusable items on Discovery. I was just speculating on why they aren’t.
Maybe a filter, like on the Recipes pane, would also work on the Discovery pane, to show/not show whatever you want would work out really well?
I also like your tally idea a lot!
I know. I’m being facetious.
Why is the h and s in chasm when it’s pronounced cazm? But we pronounce ch as in chocolate!
Why can Shawn be written Shawn, Shaun and Sean?
Where is the sense?
Blasphemies abound!

Last night when I tried to sell some items on the TP, I got an Error selling item. Checked my inventory—item was gone and not in my Selling/Sold or Pick Up tabs. They were small items, not a huge deal, but I wouldn’t want this to happen on a high price one!
Tarnished Coast
Was in Lion’s Arch at the time (not overflow)
Items trying to sell—Thyme Leaves, Bay Leaves, Black Peppercorn
I don’t think any of these are obtainable from karma merchants, right? I got them from drops.

www.gw2cartographers.com shows the location of all jumping puzzles
I would like to point out in PvE the Elementalist has the superior downed skill, mist form made it so I died about a third of the time as any of my compatriots in the AC dungeon
Mist form might work well if you have companions who can grab aggro from you. But if you’re playing solo Mist Form, and the other ele downed skills are incredibly weak. 1 and 2 barely do any damage to higher mobs, Mist form doesn’t last long enough to break aggro, and 4…..oh 4…how many times have I hit it once and have had it not go off….or hit it twice to make it go off and break the channeling so that I die before it recharges?
I agree! I don’t use auto-ground targeting, but manual targeting you STILL need to know where your mouse is! White would probably be too easily lost in the white aura/org/halo effects. Maybe a darker or much brighter gold color? With a white or black outline to make it more visible would be great.
- Which world you are playing on (or are in overflow from)
—Tarnished Coast
- What map you are on
—Any
- How many people in your party
—2
- Any other details you can provide
—When my partner and I travel together on any map, if we’re more than ~30 yards(whatever the fade distance is) from each other, we start experiencing party problems:
1. Our character portraits go black, as if we were on different maps or servers. The blue dot is either missing completely or in some random inaccurate location.
2. If one of us dies too far away, the portrait goes black and we can’t find each other to revive, even if we get very close together. The other character literally is not visible anywhere on the screen even when looking directly at it.
3. Elevation seems to cause more problems than distance. ~10 feet of elevation will cause this problem vs ~30 yds of distance.
4. Personal Story instances are not prompting the secondary person, even when we’re on the same map and are standing right next to each other.
5. Pings and targeting are not showing up in the chat window.
5,6,8 and 9 cause me the most problems. They’re particularly noticable when trying to do jumping puzzles in confined areas. Can’t see the branch to jump on because the camera is stuck pointing to the other side, or just too darn close!
I agree. I think there’s something really weird going on with Underwater combat. I swear my weapon/spells do 1/3 less damage, and I get hit way easier.
There’s also the extreme difficulty of gauging distance (Shark event, the shark is close enough to smack me down with his tail, but I try to target him and he’s out of range?) and how sometimes, targeting 1 enemy causes 3 more to swim up behind me….
