As Ultra mentioned Noob’s time schedule didn’t work for him, so he was looking for other alternatives, of which there are none as far as I know. So your post was no help to him. If you know of another alternative then please post it to help him out, otherwise this is not a recruitment thread.
As far as I know Ultra, there are unfortunately no EU guilds that are doing something like this currently. Sorry mate, wish we could help you out.
Those picture meant for me that we re having reward items from past release and nothing more
“This last chance to earn these rare rewards from battling to the top of Scarlet’s airship and facing her holo-defenses is only available until March 18!”
The Final Countdown was posted on March 11th, a full week after the release of The Battle for Lion’s Arch (March 4th). Which is usually when they hint at the next upcoming release (on March 18th). While a lot of that post does talk about the current event (Battle for Lion’s Arch), one of the pictures shows the Zephyr Rucksack Skin, which was not available during this event, as well as a picture of the Monacle (which was available). But both of the background images in those pictures are from the Bazaar location (Labyrinthine Cliffs).
All we can do is wait and see if those pictures were actually hints, or just random pictures used to promote the old LS items. Thought if the latter was the case they should have posted a picture of the Molten Jetpack instead of the Zephyr Rucksack Skin.

No problem mate.
Personally I think they will use the break in the LS, to bring back some of the previous “Reoccurring Events”. This would allow them to continue development on the Features Update, without the loss of any of their developmental resources.
Something like bringing back SAB in April. As long as they are not adding new worlds, it would not need any additional resources to implement. Not to mention that it would also coincide with the 1 year anniversary of SAB.
We could also see the return of the Bazaar. It was actually hinted at in their last release update, The Final Countdown (Contains pictures from the Bazaar). Leading many of us to believe it will be returning sometime in the near future.
Not to mention that we also have the upcoming WvW Tournament, where according to some data-mined info, they may be implementing the Account Bound WxP changes.
So while I doubt we won’t see any Updates until the Features Update, as some of the upcoming changes will require an Update/Patch. I do agree that any Updates/Patches will probably be fairly limited in scope until after the Features Update.

The chests have been back for 2 weeks. If fact they will probably be removed during tomorrow’s patch, so you had better go use your keys, as I doubt they will be returning a 3rd time. Here is the link: So, about all these Cyphers…..
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
Short answer is Yes, there will be a patch tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the Maintenance Patch. According to all the info that has been released about it (there isn’t much), it will be used to tie up the last of the LS. As well as being used to start the PvP rewards revamp. They will be removing Glory as a gainable currency, which is why they told everyone to use their glory boosters before March 18th. Other than that no other info has been released, so it will likely be a very small patch.

Hey Vaion, an invite has been sent to you. Welcome to the community!
Nice thread mate. You can also add this thread to your Dungeon Section!
Loot system was reverted a long time ago, You now receive a mix of level appropriate(your level) loot as well as map appropriate (map level) loot. I am unsure of the exact percentage, but it looks to be something like 75% of the loot is your level, and 25% is map level. But it would be nice if the ratio was closer to 50/50.
Hey Endeavor, an Invite has been sent you mate. Welcome to the Guild!
Invite has been sent Queen. Welcome to the community!
This is the right guild for that Queen! We do a little bit of everything and we have a lot of helpful people in guild. We even have Guild Mentors that are specifically here to help you in anyway that you need, be it advice or learning Dungeons/WvW/PvP. And as we have almost 300 members, there is always a variety of activities going on in guild, so you will never be bored either.
Thank you for your response Tree. We are also passionate about helping the community, which is why we are here. And just because we accept “play how you want” players does not mean we necessarily agree with them. But everyone here is entitled to play the game (they purchased) for fun. But as fun is subjective (to that individual), only that individual can define what they would call fun, be it a META build or otherwise. Essentially we are all “playing how we want”, some of us just play “mathematically optimized” (so to speak). So I personally do not see the need to exclude any type of player from the community.
But that is just my opinion.
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
As our thread is stickied we do not have to bump it, so we only post in it every couple of weeks, or when people respond there. But as most of the people contact us directly in game (as we asked them to), that thread may not look like it is being regularly updated. But I assure you that we continue to do so “behind the scenes” so to speak. Which may be why you guys assumed you were the only ones doing this recently.
Agreed this may just be a difference of opinion in teaching styles, but it seems more like the elite dungeon runners do not want our help, or only want Dungeons taught their way. Either that or they feel like we are competing competing to see who is more popular. We were never in this to be popular or well known, which was why we did this behind the scenes. We started this for the GW2 community as a whole, not for ourselves, back when we decided to start doing this 8 months ago. But we were looking for a new guild project, and decided instead of going in a new direction maybe we should revive our older project in a big way, hence the public version of our previously private runs. Anyways as this is getting way off topic, I do not see any further need to continue this discussion. But I do wish you guys luck on your own initiative.
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
Fair enough Liltih, we are not here to step on anyone’s toes. But I did post that we were in the process of planning a large scale public event about a week ago, in the “New to Dungeons” thread. Which is why I am a little surprised at the “lack of support” from the Dungeon community. It is about teaching and building a better Dungeon community, not about competition.
And we should be combining forces instead of competing.
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
Arrow finds some of the responses, in this forum specifically, less than helpful to new players. And I can’t say as I blame him, when we post about providing a public event for the community (that we have already been doing for 8 months) and we get questioned about our credentials. Or other people post to ignore our thread and join Lilith’s.
As we both have said, having more than one option is better for the GW2 community, and that is what this is supposed to be about helping the GW2 community as a whole.
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
To be honest, I’ve never heard of “Knights of Ares” so I am doubtful of your knowledge of “current dungeon tactics”. Do you have any resources that I can look at that proves you are experienced and able to teach dungeons correctly?
As Lilith Mentioned we were the original Dungeon Mentoring group, we have run approximately 2000 players through various Dungeons since we started up the “New to Dungeons” initiative 8 months ago. But due to a couple of us taking a break we had to slow down our Mentoring these last couple months. So we are glad to see that Lilith has started to provide the same service for the community.
As for teaching, we teach people how dungeons are currently run by PUGS. While I personally do not always stack when I am running with friends, stacking is what is used as the current META for Dungeons. So no, we are nothing like PASSS. Most of us run META builds, but we do not force others to run META, in short we will teach anyone and everyone. We just thought it would be a nice change of pace to run a public event instead of the private ones we usually do.

But it is going to hit Celestial harder than the other Stat combos. That is unless it gets a significant boost. As we do not know if they will be boosting it, then in the present sense, it will be hit harder than Berserker’s with the changes. :P
Currently you get 710 Precision (Secondary Stat), and 71% Critical Damage in full Zerker Gear (Gear Only). After patch you will have 710 Ferocity (Secondary Stat), instead of a flat Critical Damage boost. ANet has stated they will be trimming Critical Damage by roughly 10%. So that original 71% Critical Damage will then be reduced down to around 64% (71 × .90 = 63.9). That is unless of course they remove a flat 10% making it 61%….. But let’s be generous stick with 64%. In theory 710 Ferocity should then be equal to 64% Critical Damage, which in turn means that it should take 11 Ferocity to equal 1% Critical Damage. So even if they change Divinity to +66 All Stats, they will still be reducing the Critical Damage by half. And if they increase the amount of Ferocity needed above 11, it will be even more detrimental to run Celestial themed gear.
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
The Ferocity change is really going to hit all Celestial Gear the hardest. In the case of these Runes, they will be changing out 2% Critical Damage for 10 Ferocity (current setup), which will probably end up being around 1% Critical Damage after the update. Essentially halving the current Critical Damage. But Anet has stated that they are aware of the issue, but have not responded if they will do about it, or what their options are.

You can also try repairing GW2 to see if that fixes it.
Open your GW2 shortcut proterties and add \repair to the end of the command line, make sure you apply the change then open it. It will verify all GW2 files and replace then with the most current ones if they are missing or outdated. Also remember to remove the extra command when you are done, or it will verify the files everytime you open it.

We are in the process of planning a large scale Dungeon Mentoring run, with groups to teach people for every Dungeon. We are hoping to have everything planned and ready in a couple weeks. So if you are interested in attending either message myself or Dramen, or continue to watch this thread for details! Happy Dungeon Running!

Hey Extulsionist!
An invite has been sent to you! Welcome to the community!
I think they are trying to eliminate a lot of the leaked info that people were using to make a profit off the TP. By releasing less info to the various review sources, as well as the general public, they are reducing the chance that people can exploit that info for profit in game. Either that or they decided suspense is the new PR Strategy for 2014.
Hey Noobgod,
We do accept new people! I have sent you an invite to the guild, we look forward to having you in our community! If you have any questions let us know in guild chat.
I think what the OP is getting at is that they think there should be a cap on the daily achievements. There could still be 20 different ways to do the daily, but you would only get points for the 5 of them for you complete for the daily. I myself was an achievement hunter, but I started finding I was no longer enjoying the game as I was too busy doing achievements for the sake of the points vs playing the game for fun so I decided to make a change. Which seems to be the OP’s issue.
However something the OP may not realize is that by limiting daily achievements for players you are essentially stopping anyone from catching the people at the top of the ranks, unless those at the top stop playing completely. So you are just making it easier for the achievement hunters to stay on top, while penalizing other players. Why should an achievement hunter stay at the top of the ranks if they only log in for 5 min to do a capped version of dailies, while the person who plays for 8 hours will never catch them. If someone wants to stay on the leaderboard they should have to put the time in.

Just contact either myself or Dramen in game, and we will get you into one of the runs.
I guess im confused on crafted vs. non-crafted. They were shaman an magi. Are any shaman and magi exotics craftable? Cause if not then theres some exotics out there that have some sort of glitch?
21 salvaged ecotics (shaman and magi) with BL kits and no insignias?
So is there a way to tell if there crafted or not?
It sounds like you either had terrible luck, used a crappy Salvage kit, or Salvaged the wrong armor type. What was the name of the Armor? And what Kit did you use?
All “Named” Armor, Dungeon Armor, and Armor with a Rune already in it (“Helm of Melandru”, etc….) are considered Non-Craftable. If there is no Rune then it is considered to be Craftable Armor. And as long as they meet the correct designation (Magi, Shaman, etc…) there will be a chance to receive an Insignia, but the chance is based on the Salvage Kit you used. Pretty much same goes for weapons, but there are a few exceptions.
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
I will share the research that I gave to my Guild weeks ago.
Items with the following Designations can be salvaged for Inscriptions/Insignia:
(Exotic Only & Non-Craftable)
Shaman Weapons & Armor – Vitality, Condition Damage, Healing Power
Soldier Weapons & Armor – Power, Toughness, Vitality
Rabid Weapons & Armor – Condition Damage, Precision, Toughness
Magi Weapons & Armor – Healing Power, Precision, Vitality
Dire Weapons & Armor – Condition Damage, Toughness, Vitality
Cavalier Armor – Power, Toughness, Critical Damage
However the Inscription/Insignia is classified as a “Rarer Material” not an “Upgrade”. And each Salvage Kit will return a different rate for “Rarer Materials”. A Master/Mystic Kits will return an Inscription/Insignia 25% of the time, while a Black Lion Kit will return one 50% of the time. So using anything less than a Master Kit is not worth it.

Hey Empheral,
I sent you some in game mail. Talk to you soon mate.
They are removing PvP and PvE armor and they will be merging into just Armor. Essencially you will be wearing the same armor in PvE as well as PvP, but the stats will be adjusted for PvP. If I understand it correctly
The thing I want to know is what they are doing with the PvP locker? Will it be turned into a skin locker or something? And I want to buy t3 Cultural PvP Armor for my Norn, but I already have it for PvE, would I just be wasting my glory buying it?
Critical chance is the chance you have to hit a Critical(150% + Modifer damage). If you have 50% Critical chance you will Crit 50% of the time. And as Rozcinana said, at level 80 you need 21 Precision to increase your Critical chance by 1%.
Edit: Ninja’d by Rasputin
I was finally able to get on last night, and test these runes, and they are fantastic, much better than Ruby Orbs. Solo they seem to increase might stacks by around 5 stacks over Orbs, for an average increase of 175 Power, due to the added duration of the Might stacks. But they only seem to work well if you are running GS & Axe/Mace Build with Forceful Greatsword for the Might on Crit.
Anyone interested in doing the full math? Including Might duration and stacks? Maybe with 2 variances, 15 Might stacks and 20 Might stacks? Once you hit 25 Might stacks I think the Rune would become less effective. Essentially I want to see what would be the best DPS option for soloing Dungeons, or if you PUG a lot and run with sub-optimal groups.
Maybe compare Ruby Orbs, Ranger Rune and Strength Rune? We already know Scholar will beat them if you can keep the bonus.
Thanks in advance.
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
Correct me if I’m wrong, but that is only if you assume 25 might stacks already.
If you PUG or run a less than optimal group I would guess average might stacks is closer to 15 or 20 stacks. As well as the 5% DMG bonus will continuously scale, while the flat bonus from Ruby will not. Which should put the Rune ahead of Ruby Orbs by a significant margin I would think.
And thanks for doing the math Nike.
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
Anyone feel like doing the math on Superior Rune of Strength vs Ruby Orbs vs Scholar Runes? Pretty sure Scholars will still come out first, but it looks like Strength should outperform Ruby, and possibly Ranger? I’m at work so don’t have time to do the math, or test in-game.
In case you didn’t know, the runes were fixed during the last update!

•Exotic armor pieces with the stat combos Rabid, Dire, Magi’s, Soldier’s, Cavalier’s, and Shaman’s now have a chance to salvage their insignia.

Hey Redge,
Sent you an invite last night. Welcome to the community.
You can also get a free charged Quartz from mining the Quartz Node in your home instance. So you can occasionally get 2 per day if that is what you are looking for.
I listed all my unwanted wood on the TP at 1c below Waynze.
It is waiting for you to pick it up.
I will send you a list of materials I need farmed.
That being said there isn’t traditional raiding in GW2 like there was in WoW. So you may want to try at least a couple of the activities in the game before you say you aren’t interested in them. Also some Guilds do charge a Membership fee, so there should be no issues if you want to pay someone to be a member.
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
I will have an invite sent out to you OneLouder.
Will see you tonight.
Like I said above. Only some Designations (Stat Categories) work. And you still only have about a 25% chance to get the Inscription if you are using Master Kits, 50% chance if you are using a Black Lion Kit. As the Inscriptions are classified as “Rare Materials” and are not considered “Upgrades”.
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
I believe they will also introduce the same system for armor as they did for weapons. But as there has been no official release it is just speculation.
And you can salvage some “Named Exotics” as well, but it will only work for some designations. Berserker Gear does not drop Inscriptions, regardless if it is “Named” as it is considered Craftable.
(edited by RagingDragon.9475)
Sure Limpan, just send me a message next time your in game.
Yes, this is still going, and you can contact either myself or Dramen Maidria in game, if you need some help or want an invite to one of the runs. And Yes, this is for NA only.
