this my friend is what a passive skill system should have look like in gw2. Don’t get me wrong i like the current but looking at this and i get the feeling how inferior gw2 trait system is. Here’s a direct link to the website.
Neros, they need damage boost on everything except dagger main hand. Condition like bleed is very weak, going toe to toe against a warrior or guardian you will get pwn, in group fight the ony thing you will be useful for is epidemic.
One of the main problems with ranger now and that goes with necro is the AI, ranger pets die VERY quickly even if you are full BM, make pets immune to aoe and you will see how much damage a ranger can dish out.
Oh wow guys, i just look it up and DR is getting their kitten kicked, i remember back in the days we use to get our kitten kicked then we were on top of the world now down again, of course i left about 2 months now for TC but wow DR has fallen again back where it started. I think that’s a good thing on most part, they will learn and fight back.
That’s just desperate on their part, i kinda feel sad for them lol.
I agree with this, i transfer from server to server every month in search for the “right” one and TC fit my needs, i hardly go to LA anymore cause DR is so fun to be in, people talk in chat, it’s always populated and sometimes even overflow in TC. WvW is awesome too, commanders and players are kind and friendly so if you are interested come to TC and you will not regret it.
It wouldn’t hurt if quick shot was lightening reflex and the reason why is because aside from that, the only way to make a ranger be further away from his target while still facing him are lightening reflex and point blank shot. Making quick shot like LR would not hurt the balance of things, right now if you are KD, stun etc… quickshot won’t save you, and distance it covers is too low, i don’t personally play a SB ranger but in the grand scheme of things i think this change would be ideal for it.
I’m enjoying my ranger really well in WvW, especially a full glass cannon and a longbow fully traited in a zerg is awesome, doing 1500 per arrow with barrage on everyone is satisfying and love seeing those down targets So anet please don’t kitten with barrage, that is all because it’s one of the best skill the ranger has when it comes to zerg vs zerg gameplay.
EDIT: yea and if you can give it a damage boost it wouldn’t hurt either
Here’s mine, i’m still missing two pieces that’s i’m plnning to get in future since i’ve slow down on the grind for silver xD. Plus i’m planning to get the quiver but not for now.
You kidding me? Necros eat conditions every meal of the day. I know people that play Necro and they love it lol. They laugh in malicious laughter as the person they condition stack dies without them having to even get close.
Try facing a p/d thief, necros can remove and stack their bleedas on them maybe (5-8) stack and they will clean it while the skill the necros has is 90min CD, the thief doesn’t have CD and if you’re lucky to stack 8 bleeds on the thief good luck with that since the damage suck balls.

Yes but /say doesn’t work, i can’t even see my own bubble when talk in any chat.
Did they have it turned off, cause it’s super annoying i can’t see them. It’s been like 3 months now where i can’t seem to turn it on, there’s no option in the menu or anything, is there a way i can turn it back on?
EDIT: Just to be more clear i can’t see players chat bubbles i can see npc’s but it seems to bug out on players.
LB should pierce by dafault and have 1500 range by default instead of having us trait it. And replace those traits with something like does 30% damage when the target is below 50% health.
One of the main problem with thief is that they are allowed to go in stealth in combat at anytime, that should never happen and i don’t know who were the genius that think it would have been a good idea to let them have that ability. They have enough vigor that they can dodge most of the time, that alone should be enough, they can’t and shouldn’t have both. My first mmo had assassins that can stealth forever but once they enter combat they can’t re-enter stealth until they lose aggro, every and any class can beat them if played right because they can’t run away from you to hide once their HP is low. They can burst a class in 2-3 hits and be killed with 2-3 hits that is the way it should work, but somebody decide to give a class stealth ability ANYTIME if they are in combat or not and that’s poor game design.
Birds would have been the overall best damage pet but their attack animations take too long to go off and a fast pace environment like WvW where everyone is moving it’s not ideal to have pets that have delay attacks, that’s why the devs need to get rid of the cast time on the f2s. So from my experience it’s Lynx>Jag>Birds.

I find the lynx to have the overall quickest dps against moving target.
Good luck killing a p/d thief, a bs thief you can counter if you see them coming but a p/d thief will kill you no matter how skill you are, bring their hp down to half? they stealth, want to immobilize them and bring their hp down to half? good luck with that since we don’t have large bursts, even a s/d build won’t able to burst them down since they can just stealth. It takes no skill playing a p/d thief, if you see one, run the other way, it’s mind boggling that a kittening developer can call this balance. I wish them good luck on e.sport.
Btw did i mention how our pets are useless and take forever to catch them, or how most of our kittening f2 take 2+ seconds to cast? anyone, and i mean anyone who thinks that allowing a thief to go in stealth in combat/ have 100% vigor all the time, and can burst 20k damage in seconds is balance is kitten in the head.

I want crossbow, i could care less about staff.
Two areas in Maguuma that a lot of people miss are Aurora’s Remains (path right above the skill point in Toxal Bog(southwest side of map)) in Brisban Wildlands and Calx’s Hideout(need to do an event for Pranna to unlock her Asura Gate) in Metrica Province

GC is as good as the person who plays it, so if you suck your class will suck. I run GC build in WvW and Arah and most of the time i’m prob the last to die in lupi, so yea I run a full BM/Wilderness for dungeons and pure GC for WvW and it’s freaking amazing, especially when you use swoop from GS, entangle and barrage in a zerg and you will start seeing numbers fly.

The forum is really lagging since yesterday, we need a fix asap since you can’t edit or post something before waiting 1 min.
So i was trying the owl today because i was feeling bored of my raven that i was playing with since release and boy did is owl damage so much better than the raven, it seems that the f2 have a much lower cast time, imo a must have in PvP and it does more damage than the raven even though the raven skill listed a higher number. Anyone else experiencing this?
Will there be a January focused blog to detail the changes coming? Or will the incoming blog summarizing the plans for the first half of 2013 effectively cover everything that’s happening in Jan?
There will be a blog post in around week or so that summarizes the high level plan for the first 6 months of 2013 for Gw2.
Then each of the individual releases for January, February, etc. will have their own release pages on our website, as well as blog posts describing specific important new features where appropriate.

Barrage is so freaking amazing in WvW when you’re full zerker. it’s one of the most underrated ranger skill by far.
Well i’m using ruby orbs atm cause i don’t want to waste anymore gold, i’ve already had six superior rune of the earth that i took out. So i’m deciding what to choose from. I know i don’t need anymore power since i have like 3.6k, crit chance is around 45% and crit damage about 82.
Pets in WvW is almost next to useless since they die very quickly and on top of that you have almost every f2 abilities that has 1sec cast time or more, want to fight a thief or someone who’s very dodgy? good luck with that because the time it takes the pet to cast his abilities the thief is already on top of you, same goes against every profession, if the players know how to dodge or move that pet f2 skill won’t get them.
So there’s a chance we might get a new WvW map from the Jan/Feb or March update, I wonder if it would be like diffrend flavor, maybe something fireheart rise theme or norn land although we have a lot of snowy place already. What kind of map would you want for them to put?
Can anyone tell what’s the highest dps rune for a ranger, i’m running zerker and LB (sigil of force)/ Axe, warhorn. I want achieve as much damage as possible, if it’s possible.
Or you know anet should fix this bullkitten and add a cooldown to stealth in combat. I was on my ranger today fighting a p/d thief with one other person and it’s mind boggling that a game company find this balance.
Seriously i don’t mind running fractel, but i’m lvl6 now and yet to see a drop of mist essence, plus it cost too much gold to make, why can’t it be like normal drops or crafted by every crafting professions? I want you guys to make it easier to make quivers this should even come as a default for rangers since they need it to fire shots
I got full zerker and slotted superior runes of the earth and took every traits that gives protection, protection on dodge, protection when your health taken for 20% in one shot, bark skin etc.. and it’s working pretty good in WvW so far.
I’m a high fan of crossbows, even before gw2 came out i wanted them to add crossbows because my first mmo had them and they were awesome. What roll would they play? well they would have the same range as LB, it will pierce targets by default ,no traits, the crossbow will not be a very mobile weapon, it will have skills that root you and damage that can burst the target in seconds (wishful thinking) it would be a very high burst single target weapon
The skills would look like this..
1# Piercing Bolt basic auto attack that pierce targets and cripples for 1 sec.
2# Triple Shot Root the target and fires three bolt with 50% damage boost ( can’t move while firing this skill.)
3# Free Up Cures stuns and Immoblize and add protection for 1 sec and retaliation for 5 sec for you and your pet.
4# Quick ShotsThe player is root on spot (attack speed is increase 100% and damage is increase by 100% for 5 seconds) cannot be stack with QZ.
5# Poison Bolts fires two poison bolts and stun the foe for 1 sec, damage is dealt according to to opponent’s health more damage is (like hearthseeker).
Yea i know this will never happened because the skill will do a lot damage but i can only dream of what we should become, a damage dealing class with the pet as a side perk not our other half.

Rangers are capable of burst damage but our freaking pets needs to be alive to achieve this.

Another problem as a whole is that (this is in WvW) a lot of class can dish out ALOT of damage in a matter of seconds, warrior, thief, mesmer, guardians etcc and a fast pace game like this needs pet that can hit moving targets without being dead half of the time, we need weapons that does DAMAGE and doesn’t have silly animations that stop them from doing it. Most mmos i’ve played ranger can burst a target within seconds, granted they didn’t have pets but our pets can’t even hit moving targets or are too slow, they need to add a speed boost to pets without us needing to traits it. We need a damage boost on every kittening weapons, same goes for Necros and Engie. These classes are left in the dust because of sucky damage in WvW (sPvP) is another matter. GW2 pvp is fun and fast pace, by the time you take the time to summon a torrent or applying bleeds you’re already dead. Again ranger needs a damage boost and animations need to work faster.

One of the problems with LB is that in order for rangers to do high damage the enemy have to be max distance, i get it Anet wanted the LB to be a long range dps weapon, make it so that the damage doesn’t scale with the distance, make it that whatever damage you do at 1200 we do it at melee range, the cast time is ok, make it a longer distance 1800 would be more awesome and an ideal weapon for WvW, right now the SB out performs the LB in every aspect, even the range is 1200 and unless if you spec the LB the max distance is gonna be 1200.
We don’t need more DE’s we need better rewards and more reason for people to go out and explore.
I don’t have none since necros mostly go untouch without the core problems being fix, the last patch fixed some stuff but not the major problems we have, i will expect the same. Not getting my hopes up.
..comes from pets and they die in 5 sec when you command them to do anything in PvP (WvW) or PvE.

I don’t know if this is a new server but my god it’s prob the lease populated server, when i log in there’s prob 20 people in peak and times like now 12am EST it’s empty, i just went in WvW and there’s 2 people both of whom are below lvl10, pve zone? forget it, orr? empty. I’m not implying anything, but i’m suggesting that maybe merge this server with someone else, find the other two lease populated server and merge the three together otherwise Vabbi will remain empty and people will leave to other server when they see there’s hardly anyone in it.
i agree with this, i’ve run TA, CoF, CoE, SE, AC, HoTW, and Arah although the latter i did very little of, but i love the exp modes, the thing is when fractal came along it’s just a superior dungeon in terms of mechanic and look, it put the rest to shame, i hope they do something to the old dungeon to make it fun like fractels, maybe add the scaling like fractals, lvl1 will be easy and as you go up it gets harder and harder, it’s the only way they can make the old dungeons more fun.

So i was thinking, why don’t the dev make ranger the featest class in the game? put a skill that adds like 130% speed, it would prob be a signet and when it’s active you and your group members will get the buffs, of course a buff this big would have to have a downside, how about making it so when the signet is active, it drains certain amount of endurance? yea i know that’s too much for a speed buff, but a certain game i use to play have one of the best ranger in any mmo, had this same skill except it drains mana and it was called “Winged foot” some might recognize the name and imo this class was one of the most fun to play with and had the higest DPS in the game, something gw2 ranger is lacking unless if you’re running a BM spec.

Nice vid, i usually ran this same setup with full zerker gear and 10/ 30/ 0/ 15/15 and i love using unload, the damage is not insane like a BS thief can do but it’s enough to get the job done.
