Hi Cooper! Good luck finding the best guild for you. A good group of friends will make your adventures a lot more fun.

My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall, but you can feel free to guest for as long as you want. Some of our members never transfer, so that is ok, but if you ever want to transfer in the future, we are happy to help dedicated and involved members save for the transfer. If you really hate your server SoR is probably a good place to transfer anyway given how populated and big it is in WvW. XD

MadCast is a gaming community that is bigger than GW2, but we are working on growing our GW2 sector right now. You can check out our website at www.madcastgaming.com. I especially suggest you read through the forums some to get a feel for what we are all about! Here are some points you may find attractive about MadCast:

We have a mature community. While MadCast has no specific age requirements we do have high expectations for maturity. You will find kind, patient people and no drama. The vast majority of our members are over 18 (especially in GW2). Most of our GW2 members are older with careers, and many have families and children.

We are a serious community with casual gameplay. In other words, the main expectations we have for members revolves around positive contribution to the community and not on a packed GW2 schedule attendance. If you are active in the forums and show up to a few events a week, that is good enough for us. Our community is made out of all levels of players. We have many very new players, some new to gaming in general, and our environment is built on kindness and helpfulness. People will be happy to answer you questions and guide you through things no matter how basic or advanced.

We have a super awesome, active TeamSpeak group. We enforce strict rules of respectfulness and tolerance among our players, making it a safe friendly place for everyone. People of all types feel comfortable joining in the conversation and making new friends.

Our community is bigger than in-game. We have a website with a lot of activity and heavy forum use. This is a huge asset because we have people who play all kinds of games over at MadCast, and the forums really serve as the uniting factor among people.

If you check out our website, you will see information about becoming a Full Member of MadCast. This is not something you need to do right away. Our guild welcomes ‘Associate’ Members, meaning we will add you to the guild, you are free to use our TeamSpeak and join our Forums, but you do not have complete access rights for inviting people to the guild yourself, or accessing certain Full Member parts of our forum. This is a good way to find out if MadCast is the right fit for you before applying. In the long run, to gain any ranking position, we require people to be an official MadCast Full Member.

If you want to, I’d love to invite you to join us and meet some of our members. I would encourage you to join us in our TeamSpeak (you can find information about that here: http://www.madcastgaming.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?2-New-to-MadCast). Alternatively, you can private message me in game, and I would be happy to add you in to one of our parties. TeamSpeak is our main form of communication, and even if people aren’t comfortable using their mic, they often join in to listen.

If you have any questions you can message me in game, post here, or join our forums and ask there. Good luck finding a place for you! <3

Hi Nullcoda. Seeing your post about wanting to play on Stormbluff, I won’t bother with my recruitment spiel. I actually transfered from Stormbluff for my current guild, so I have a special place in my heart for the server. I suggest you look around on www.stormbluffisle.com as well as here for some good guilds. Off the top of my head I know Kiwi and Karm are big ones if they are both still on SBI. Additionally the SBI people are really friendly— try heading into Lion’s Arch and asking for suggestions or for recruiters to PM you info about their guild. That should net you some responses quickly that are guaranteed SBI.

Hey Acheron, don’t worry about the server guesting, it is very easy and a good way to be involved in a guild without switching. Here’s some info:

To guest on a server, go to your character select screen. In the bottom left hard side is a button for select your server. You can click on any server on the list that you would like to guest on. Two buttons show, one for guesting and one for transferring. Guesting lasts for 24 hrs or until you log out, so whenever you want to play on your guild server you will have to pull up the menu and select it. This is fast and easy though, so you will probably not find it inconvenient. In any 24 hour period you can only guest on up to two other servers (but you can re-guest to the same server as many times as you want, say if you log in and out 4 times in a day). This isn’t really a big deal though for most people.

Anyway, looks like you may have found another guild already, but if that doesn’t work out maybe you’d like to check out mine. ^^ My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall, but you can feel free to guest for as long as you want. Some of our members never transfer, but if you ever want to transfer in the future, we are happy to help dedicated and involved members save for the transfer. It’s all up to you.

Hi MrBean! MadCast Gaming is most active from 7 PM EST to 2 AM EST (6 PM to 1 AM in central) but there are usually a few members on past that to 4 AM unless it’s the weekend— and then who knows how late we will stay up. This may not be as much coverage as you are looking for, but maybe we will interest you anyway (we have no rep requirement, so you are free to join other guilds too; maybe you will find two that split your time).

My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall, but you can feel free to guest for as long as you want. Some of our members never transfer, so that is ok, but if you ever want to transfer in the future, we are happy to help dedicated and involved members save for the transfer. Since you do not appear that interested in a WvW guild, I don’t anticipate it would be a huge barrier to you.

Hi Eternalmyst! First off, since you are new to Guild Wars, welcome! I am sorry you’ve had some bad experiences, but don’t let that discourage you. GW2 is an awesome game and there are many great communities out there. I hope you find the right one for you, as a good group of friends make the game exponentially better.

Just so you know, I myself am a woman, and there are quite a few other female members of MadCast who spend a lot of time in GW2. I can promise you we are all treated respectfully by everyone else, and if you want to talk to any of us I can put you in contact with some of them about it.

My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall, but don’t feel pressured if you have already selected another server. Guesting is a really great feature of GW2 that will allow you to do everything with people on another server EXCEPT for WvW. If we end up being a good fit, you can join the guild on another server and save Coin to buy Gems if you like, and transfer later. (Give us a test run first though) We are happy to help dedicated and involved members save for the transfer.

You may or may not know this so I’ll just explain how: To guest on a server, go to your character select screen. In the bottom left hard side is a button for select your server. You can click on any server on the list that you would. Two buttons show, one for guesting and one for transferring. Guesting lasts for 24 hrs or until you log out, so whenever you want to play on your guild server you will have to pull up the menu and select it. Hi Ergo! First off, since you are new to Guild Wars, welcome! It is an awesome game and there are many great communities out there. I hope you find the right one for you, as a good group of friends make the game exponentially better.

I made this guide the other day: http://www.madcastgaming.com/forum/showthread.php?13932-So-You-Want-to-Play-Guild-Wars-2&p=127494 for newer players. It covers things that are not explicitly mentioned in the tutorial. You may know some of them, but if not maybe it will help you out.

Hi Autumn. I am not sure exactly of your schedule or server. MadCast has our peak activity between 8 pm and 2 am Eastern, though we have people on during the day on weekends, and our times realistically stretch from 5 pm to 4 am Eastern. We are also on Sanctum of Rall, but we do not require a transfer and encourage people to guest to get to know us first. If the times work and you are not die-hard for WvW, maybe we are the guild for you!

MadCast is a gaming community that is bigger than GW2, but we are working on growing our GW2 sector right now. You can check out our website at www.madcastgaming.com. I especially suggest you read through the forums some to get a feel for what we are all about! Here are some points you may find attractive about MadCast:

In other words, the main expectations we have for members revolves around positive contribution to the community and not on a packed GW2 schedule attendance. If you are active in the forums and show up to a few events a week, that is good enough for us. Our community is made out of all levels of players with all levels of RL commitment. Several of our most active members also have children, so we are very understanding of GTG for the baby!

TeamSpeak is our main form of communication, and even if you aren’t comfortable using your mic, it would be great if you installed it just to listen to the chatter. Quite a few of our members participate this way.

If you have any questions you can message me in game, post here, or join our forums and ask there. Good luck finding a place for you! <3

Well awesome! I would say you won’t hear stuff like that in our guild for sure. Let me go ahead with the details of my amazing guild then, MadCast Gaming!

We are a serious community with casual gameplay. In other words, the main expectations we have for members revolves around positive contribution to the community and not on a packed GW2 schedule attendance. If you are active in the forums and show up to a few events a week, that is good enough for us. Our community is made out of all levels of players.

We have a super awesome, active TeamSpeak group. We enforce strict rules of respectfulness and tolerance among our players, making it a safe friendly place for everyone. People of all types feel comfortable joining in the conversation and making new friends.

Hi Icerina! First off, since you are newer to Guild Wars, welcome! It is an awesome game and there are many great communities out there.

My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall, but you can feel free to guest for as long as you want. I suggest you guest until you know we are right for you so that you don’t waste money on a transfer. Some of our members never transfer, so that is ok as well. Hi Tharjax, I am not quite sure about your “clean” guild requirement. Maybe you could explain that a little bit? In my guild we don’t allow people to use language at each other, and we frown on excessive swearing/potty mouth. You will see people drop things like: “holy kitten” “w t f” “kitten ck” and things like that occasionally. I’m not sure if you’d consider that filthy talk or not. If that is considered okay in your book, let me know, and I’ll tell you more about my guild. If you are looking for completely “clean”, you might consider the Christian guild that has a thread going in this forum. As far as I know they enforce very strict family friendly rules, so that might be a good fit. (Can’t vouche from experience, but from their forum posts it looks that way.)

Anyway, good luck to you sir!

Thank you to all the nice people who explained what’s going on. SBI had a teamspeak, but people had a lot more chat communication too (and people were constantly posting the teamspeak server for people to hop into so you couldn’t miss it).

Also, sorry to hear about the troll commanders. Maybe that was less a problem cause SBI wasn’t as high tier server as you.

I will join you there and look forwards to a much better time.

This is not a troll post, I am dead serious. I haven’t figured out where these voice channels or whatever else they are using are.

Rall may have the best community idk, because no one is doing a very good job at communicating anything in the past week I’ve been on.

I am usually on between 8 pm and 2 am eastern, but at varied times in that span. I don’t think this is a bad time cause there are usually tons of people, but there is a lot of sitting around, so idk.

RedJustice.1548

Can someone kindly direct me to where I might find out wth is going on in SoR Wv3?

A week ago I transferred form SBI where things like this happened:

1. Only one or two commanders wearing their tags at a time, clearly communicating their goals to people for divide and conquer tactics.
2. Commanders would cycle out who was wearing the tag so as not to confuse people and give each other a break.
3. People didn’t throw down random siege like easter eggs in their backyard. The commander put one out or asked for it.
4. When you zerged around, it was with a purpose, and we actually went and did stuff.
5. Community TeamSpeak that was friendly and business like for casuals to join in. Commanders mostly did all the talking, and it was easy to follow what was happening.

Okay, maybe I’m on at the wrong time, or maybe I don’t understand SoR’s protocol yet, but seriously?

1. Usually 3-5 tags on at once, without any suggestion that they are communicating with each other, let alone the rest of us.
2.People wear their commander tag constantly, even when afk at spawn, causing confusion.
3. Siege EVERYWHERE. What’s worse, people put supply into that random kitten.
4. When we go to attack something… no one puts down siege! Because apparently no one is actually leading this train.
5. Every single evening except one (thanks Ethan), has been a gigantic waste of time, because the commanders aren’t doing anything. We basically run back and forth in circles, not even taking supply caravans and sentries.

Can someone explain SoR protocols and organization to me please? I kind of want to pay another 60 gold to transfer back. -.- Thanks. <3

You might want to look through the forum for guilds advertising as EU. Good luck with your search!

Just wanted to give this a little bump and say— we had a ton of fun last night. Some of our members decided to work on jumping puzzle completion so we ran through about 9 of them. It was a good time! We also went to do the guild bounty in Frostgorge and unfortunately we found her right in the middle of a massive dredge event which contributed to a party wipe. So that was a little painful… Still had an awesome time though!

You are likely to get more responses that way.

I don’t think you get one free one. I believe that was during the opening week or so only. Transfers cost about $30 irl unfortunately, or (if you want to use Coin to buy gems) 60g. That was a bit painful. I server transferred a week ago. So yeah… However, MadCast won’t require you to transfer ever if you don’t want to. Like I said you can do EVERYTHING except WvW, so if you’re not into that, it’s no biggie.

TeamSpeak is our main form of communication, and even if you aren’t comfortable using your mic, it would be great if you installed it just to listen to the chatter. Quite a few of our members participate this way.

If you have any questions you can message me in game, post here, or join our forums and ask there. I will also try to drop you a quick whisper in game if I see you on.

Hi Recycle! (Just curious, is one of your friends Skyclad? Cause a very similar thread showed up earlier today.) Glad to see you are looking for a community to game with. That will definitely make GW2 more fun. MadCast Gaming is the awesome guild I am part of here on SoR.

We are a serious community with casual gameplay. In other words, the main expectations we have for members revolves around positive contribution to the community and not on a packed GW2 schedule attendance. Our community is made out of all levels of players with a variety of interests, so you can find people to play whatever aspect of GW2 you love the most. Because we are casual we don’t require you to leave your current guild at all!

Your friends are welcome to join us as Associate Members as long as they are friendly and kind to everyone. If any of you choose to apply for Full Membership though, that must be done individually.

TeamSpeak is our main form of communication, and even if you aren’t comfortable using your mic, it would be great if you installed it just to listen to the chatter. Quite a few of our members participate this way.

This Saturday night at 9 PM EST we are having some guild events where we will be doing the new dungeon that came out for the Living Story and also showing new players WvW. You are welcome to join us for that if you want to meet some people and get a feel for things.

If you have any questions you can message me in game, post here, or join our forums and ask there. I will also try to drop you a quick whisper in game if I see you on.

Just want to get this to the front page again. A lot of people are getting out of university or school for the summer right now and planning to start playing GW2. If you are brand-freaking-new we would LOVE to help you learn the game.

If you need help getting started, please check out <a href="http://www.madcastgaming.com/forum/showthread.php?13932-So-You-Want-to-Play-Guild-Wars">This Guide</a> for things not covered in the tutorial that are still really useful to know.

Hey rey! (Wow a sculptor— that sounds really cool) MadCast Gaming, my guild, is on Sanctum of Rall.

To guest on a server, go to your character select screen. In the bottom left hard side is a button for select your server. You can click on any server on the list that you would. Two buttons show, one for guesting and one for transferring. Guesting lasts for 24 hrs or until you log out, so whenever you want to play on your guild server you will have to pull up the menu and select it. This is fast and easy though, so you will probably not find it inconvenient.

I saw that other people have had this problem when I skimmed through the Guild sticky, but I couldn’t find any posts that said it had been fixed. Can someone tell me if you had this problem and were able to get it resolved by submitting a help ticket? My guild is growing, and we have only 2 spaces left, but the registrar keeps telling us we don’t have enough members to upgrade our guild size.

Thanks!

Hey Supreme, welcome back to GW2! Finding a community will probably make it 10x more fun, so I wish you the best of luck in your search.

As a heads up, my guild is not on your server, we are on Sanctum of Rall. Hi Stealthkitty! First off, since you are newer to Guild Wars, welcome! It is an awesome game and there are many great communities out there.

Hey olliee, in case you don’t know how to do this (you said you are kind of new, no offense meant), here is how to guest on a server:

Go to your character select screen where you choose which character you will play on. In the bottom left hand corner there is an option to choose a server. Select any server from the list and two buttons will show up. One is to guest, and the other is to transfer.

Guesting is a temporary, 24 hour pass to another server that can be renewed for free as often as you log in. If you log out you will need to reselect the server you want to be on, or else the client will put you back in your home world. There is 0 cost to you, and guesting will literally allow you to be part of every single thing on another server except for WvW.

Transferring permanently switches you to another server and costs gems (which can be purchased with gold if you do not want to or have access to spending real life money on them).

If you are not heavily interested in WvW it is worth checking out guilds on other servers. You may end up finding some awesome people, and my experience has been that good guildmates are often willing to help each other out with saving for server transfers.

Anyway, my guild is also recruiting, though it looks like you have many other good ones in here. If you want to take a look, pop in over here:

Hi there Aenema. I am sorry to hear about your illness. I hope you both feel better with your symptoms and get better for the long run. I struggled with a severe autoimmune illness two years ago and being really really sick can drastically change how you can function day to day. Stay strong!

My guild is not on your server, we are on Sanctum of Rall. Guesting makes it easy to participate in everything except WvW, and for serious contributing members, people are happy to pitch in and help you save to make the server move. I see you want to get your badges, but if the community is a good fit for you otherwise, hopefully you can join us and transfer over to do WvW with us a little later. ^^

We are a serious community with casual gameplay. In other words, the main expectations we have for members revolves around positive contribution to the community and not on a packed GW2 schedule attendance. If you are active in the forums and show up to a few events a week, that is good enough for us. On the other hand you can always find players around MadCast of all levels of ‘hardcore’ gameplay, so if you want to play 6 hours a day, srs bsns WvW, there will be people to play with.

TeamSpeak is our main form of communication, and even if you aren’t comfortable using your mic, it would be great if you installed it just to listen to the chatter. Quite a few of our members participate this way.

Most of MadCast’s players are in NA, so this could be problematic. :/ We usually have players on from around 12:00 PM EST to 3 or 4 AM EST, so that actually covers a pretty large portion of the day. Our main activity though probably takes place between 7/8 PM and 2 AM EST. However, because you are ill and playing at all hours, this may still cover a time you are on.

This Saturday night (about 36 hours from now, sorry I am bad with time zones) we are having some guild events where we will be doing the new dungeon that came out for the Living Story and also showing new players WvW. You are welcome to join us for that if you want to meet some people and get a feel for things.

If you have any questions you can message me in game, post here, or join our forums and ask there. I will also try to drop you a quick whisper in game if I see you on.

I can promise you that if you join, you will find a family here who is willing to help you out with the troubles you are having with no judgement. We have many very new players, some new to gaming in general, and our environment is built on kindness and helpfulness. Everyone in there will be happy to answer you questions and guide you through things.

Last night we also chatted with different members about what we hoped to do for Saturday (Guild Party Day). It looks like we will be taking people through the new, limited time only dungeon, as well as introducing players to WvW who haven’t been there before. Should be fun. ^^
