Join MadCast Gaming [MGC] on Saturday, May 20, at 8 PM EST for booze, frustration, and fun in Caledon Forest.
What is Booze Bolt?
Booze Bolt is a jumping puzzle race and optional drinking game, created by yours-truly some years ago. You will race to be the first to complete the puzzle- but every time you fall off, take a drink! If you fall off and die, finish your drink!
Is drinking required?
No, of course not! Please follow the laws of your country/state, and be safe. You do not have to drink alcohol to participate in Booze Bolt, though obviously it can make it more… challenging.
What if I am really bad at Jumping Puzzles?
If you don’t want to race, you can instead pick a racer to cheer for. You will drink with them, every time they fall off the puzzle or die, and /cheer for them to finish in 1st. Change your outfit dye to reflect the racer you are cheering for!
Okay, I’m in- where do I go?
This Booze Bolt will be held in Caledon Forest, starting with Morgan’s Leap and continuing with Dreamdark Enclave. I will be creating a squad to pull people over into our map. Whisper me (Aritimi) or look for me in the LFG under Open World > Central Tyria – Squads > Booze Bolt! starting at 7 PM EST.
Is there a prize?
Participation prizes can be found at the end of each puzzle in a chest.
Other Info:
You are welcome to join our TeamSpeak for maximum extra fun and shenangians. You can find information about that here: https://www.madcastgaming.com/ips/forums/topic/5177-madcast-voip-server/
If there are a lot of racers, we will divide everyone into relay teams. The first team to have all its members finish the puzzle wins. Team members will race one at a time; when one team member reaches the end of the puzzle, the next team member can begin.
MadCast Gaming is a multi-game community established over a decade ago. Besides GW2, we play LoL, HotS, Overwatch, Tabletop games, D3, and whatever else strikes our fancy. You are welcome to apply for membership or simply hang out with us as an associate so long as you are respectful of others and act like an adult.
Hey, I played GW2 since the first beta weekend, but stopped playing middle of Living Story Season 2. Coming back was a little bit of a rough adjustment, but I am back in the swing of things after only a couple of weeks.
I suggest doing all the story steps that you can (might be worth unlocking some living story, might not be, depends on what you’re missing), as this really helped me get comfortable with my hotkeys and mechanics again.
I also suggest spending a chunk of time cleaning out your bags. Just search for whatever it is on the wiki to see if it’s safe to discard or if it’s phased out where the special vendor is to turn it in. You might have something that is now rare/expensive!
Also on the 18th some servers will be free to transfer to because of the upcoming WvW Season.
For real?
I quit a couple years ago and just recently came back and found I was on a completely different server than my husband’s account (we used to swap around before server transfers became paid). I was hoping to get him back into the game but he doesn’t want to since he wants to WvW together.
Deleting isn’t an option, I have three 80s and he has two. Wonder if we could both move to one of the open servers. :P Good to know that!
I definitely feel the OP here, it’s been difficult to even find a guild or people to talk to, you don’t see people recruiting all that often on the lower populated servers.
Keep in mind you can pay for a server transfer with gold. This can take a little while depending on how much you play, but tier 6 crafting material sells for a lot (and you can buy the loot bags from the karma vendor from doing the daily and monthly). If you have a few level 80s you may find that together you can get the gold to transfer ASAP! This is how I paid for my transfer to my guild’s server when I eventually gave in and decided I wanted to WvW with my guild. XD
Hi sam! Welcome to GW2! It sounds like MadCast could be the right fit for you, but there are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you!
My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall. I am not sure what server you are on, but there are a couple of easy options: 1. If you plan on starting over complete, you get to rechoose your server for free if you delete all your characters. If you are comfortable with that, this is an easy time to switch. 2. If you don’t want to switch, you can just guest to Sanctum of Rall for as long as you want! Guesting will allow you to participate in everything on a the guild server for free. Some of our members never transfer, so that is ok, but if you ever want to transfer in the future, we are happy to help dedicated and involved members save for the transfer.
To guest on a server, go to your character select screen. In the bottom left hard side is a button for select your server. You can click on any server on the list that you would. Two buttons show, one for guesting and one for transferring. Guesting lasts for 24 hrs or until you log out, so whenever you want to play on your guild server you will have to pull up the menu and select it. This is fast and easy though, so you will probably not find it inconvenient.
MadCast is a gaming community that is bigger than GW2, but we are always looking for awesome new people to join us! You can check out our website at http://www.madcastgaming.com. I especially suggest you look through the forums some to get a feel for what we are all about, and the other games we play! Here are some points you may find attractive about MadCast:
- We have a mature community. While MadCast has no specific age requirements we do have high expectations for maturity. You will find kind, patient people and no drama. The vast majority of our members are over 18 (especially in GW2). Most of our GW2 members are older with careers, and many have families and children.
- We are a serious community with casual gameplay. In other words, the main expectations we have for members revolves around positive contribution to the community and not on a packed GW2 schedule attendance. If you are active in the forums and just show up to a few times a week, that is good enough for us. Additionally, because we are casual our community is made out of all levels of players. We have many very new players, some new to gaming in general, and our environment is built on kindness and helpfulness. People will be happy to answer you questions and guide you through things no matter how basic or advanced.
- We have a super awesome, active TeamSpeak group. We enforce strict rules of respectfulness and tolerance among our players, making it a safe friendly place for everyone. People of all types feel comfortable joining in the conversation and making new friends. You are very welcome to just listen if you are shy or can’t talk for whatever reason.
- Our community is bigger than in-game. We have a website with a lot of activity and heavy forum use. This is a huge asset because we have people who play all kinds of games over at MadCast, and the forums really serve as the uniting factor among people.
If you check out our website, you will see information about becoming a Full Member of MadCast. This is not something you need to do right away. Take some time to make sure MadCast is the right fit for you! A forum account is required to maintain guild membership, but you have at least 30 days to make one.
If you want to, I would encourage you to join us in our TeamSpeak (you can find information about that here: http://www.madcastgaming.com/ips/topic/5177-intro-madcast-teamspeak-3-server/). Tonight our guild is running Fractal Friday at 7 PM EST. If you are starting over you won’t be able to participate in the Fractal groups, but a lot of people will be around who you can meet, and those of us who don’t feel like doing Fractals would be happy to level with you. We have a new guild member Clint who is a low level, and I was planning on running around with him and another guild member Kit tonight if possible.
If you have any questions you can message me in game, post here, or join our forums and ask there. If you are in-game currently, I’m sorry I will not be in game until around 6 PM EST due to my work schedule, but you can post on our forums or reply here and I will get to it sooner. Good luck finding a place for you! <3
kitten , you sound like such an awesome guy lol. My guild runs on EST, or else we’d really, really happily have you. Anyway, good luck finding your guild. ^^
Hi Kayberg and friend! Welcome to GW2! It sounds like MadCast could be the right fit for you, but there are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you! It is much more fun with friends. ^^

If you check out our website, you will see information about becoming a Full Member of MadCast. This is not something you need to do right away. Our guild welcomes ‘Associate’ Members, meaning we will add you to the guild, you are free to use our TeamSpeak and join our Forums, but you do not have complete access rights for inviting people to the guild yourself, or accessing certain Full Member parts of our forum. This is a good way to find out if MadCast is the right fit for you before applying. In the long run, to gain any ranking position, we require people to be an official MadCast Full Member.
If you want to, I would encourage you to join us in our TeamSpeak (you can find information about that here: http://www.madcastgaming.com/ips/topic/5177-intro-madcast-teamspeak-3-server/). Alternatively, you can private message me in game, and I would be happy to add you in to one of our parties. If you need someone to show you the ropes and help you level, the guild would be really happy to help you out! Most nights at around 8 PM EST we group up to run through daily achievements together and help our lower level players level or do map completion. It’s a good way to meet people.
If you have any questions you can message me in game, post here, or join our forums and ask there. Tonight our guild is running Guild Missions— fun group events that happen randomly throughout the game maps. Due to their random nature, it is likely you will be able to participate in some events but not others, since you are level 30. We would love to have you! Our TS3 server is currently being upgraded, and we are unsure if the upgrade will be finished in 15 minutes or another 6 hours, so I will contact you in game. Good luck finding a place for you! <3

Awesome Sanguina! We are running Guild Missions tonight— I will try to contact you if you are online. Our TS3 server is currently being upgraded and we don’t have an ETA on if it will be done in 15 minutes or 6 hours. T_T We will be coordinating through guild chat lol.
In the meantime, please feel free to post an introduction thread on our website, or just lurk around there to check it out since you can’t meet people on TS. ^^
Hi Sanguina! Sounds like you have previously had some poor experiences; I’m sorry. My gaming community, MadCast Gaming is not specifically an LGBT or women’s community, but we are very strict about respect, tolerance, and maturity. You will be very welcome and safe in MadCast! I say this as an elected female senior admin of the community. We have many women in our community, several other female admins, and while I don’t believe we have a large number of LGBTQ members (I’m bi), you will certainly not see crass language, harassment, or “jokes” in our community. Reports of harassment and such are taken extremely seriously. People will be banned pretty quickly for behavior like that. Whatever your sexuality, we don’t really care so long as you are an awesome person and a positive contributor to our community! Besides that, MadCast is on Sanctum of Rall, and we have no rep requirements. ^^ So far, a great fit!

My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall, but you can feel free to guest for as long as you want. Guesting will allow you to participate in everything on a the guild server for free. Some of our members never transfer, so that is ok, but if you ever want to transfer in the future, we are happy to help dedicated and involved members save for the transfer. If you need help with how to guest, just let me know, and I will explain.
MadCast is a gaming community that is bigger than GW2, but we are working on growing our GW2 sector right now.
We understand the RL priorities that come with being an adult. Good on you for being a responsible father!
You are very welcome to just listen, as several of our members don’t talk for the exact same reason as you.
If you are in-game currently, I’m sorry I will not be on for another 4.5 hours due to my work schedule, but you can post on our forums or reply here and I will get to it sooner. Good luck finding a place for you! <3
Glad you joined us Max!
Hi Melovolance! Hopefully you find some friends soon. Sounds like MadCast could be the right fit for you, but there are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you! MadCast is not specifically an LGBT community, but we are very strict about respect, tolerance, and maturity. You will be very welcome and safe in our community! I say this as a female senior admin of the community, with many female members; I think this is a pretty strong indicator of the type of community we are, since this is the internet, lol. xD

Hello Two! Hopefully you find some friends soon. It would help to mention if you are NA or EU in terms of server or play time. If you are NA, or an on NA play schedule, sounds like MadCast could be the right fit for you, but there are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you!

Ah, I’m sorry, I am actually not online due to being at work. However, you can message one of the other guild officers: KitOnlyHuman.6807 or Cakeisalie.1976. (Cake seems to be the one online right now, but he may be getting ready for work, as he has a weird schedule.)
You can also just post on our forums if you want to chat with people and won’t make it tonight though!

Also, Booze Bolt is back— a jumping puzzle drinking game that’s a ton of fun whether you are drinking or jumping or not. Join us at 9 PM EST on Friday, February the 28th for all the fun! http://www.madcastgaming.com/ips/topic/11885-booze-bolt/
Hi barqs (and others)! ^^ Welcome back to GW2! It has changed a lot but you’ll find you get back into things pretty quickly when you start playing again. I understand you are looking for a NSP guild first, but if you like the community then MadCast may be a good fit for you anyway.
My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall , but you can feel free to guest for as long as you want. Some of our members never transfer, so that is ok, but if you ever want to transfer in the future, we are happy to help dedicated and involved members save for the transfer. Some of our guild leaders have even been located on other servers. It is not a big deal. If any of you need help guesting, you can just let me know and I will explain how.

As a note, you are welcome to bring along any friends, but everyone is recognized individually. Anyone who wants to apply for Full Membership must do so on their own, and if someone is being an kitten, well, they’ll probably get themselves banned from TS. It does not seem like this would be a problem, but in interest of full-disclosure I’m just throwing it out there that we do not have an all-or-nothing policy on groups.
If you have any questions you can message me in game, post here, or join our forums and ask there. Good luck finding a place for you! <3
Hi furb! ^^ Welcome back to GW2! French-Canadian drunk singing would fit right in with my guild lol. It sounds like MadCast could be the right fit for you, but there are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you! It’s sad to be lonely in an MMO. They are meant for being social!

Hi Ultima! ^^ Welcome to GW2! Don’t worry too much about trying to sort everything out at once, you’ll pick up on things pretty quickly. It sounds like MadCast could be the right fit for you, but there are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you! I notice you say you like to play a lot of other games, and our community is a multi-game community (We currently support 4 main games: League of Legends, Guild Wars 2, Minecraft, and Battle Field 4; but also have a strong group of people playing Hearthstone and Diablo 3. Most of our members play multiple games.)
My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall, but you can feel free to guest for as long as you want. Guesting will allow you to participate in everything on a the guild server for free! Anyway, MadCast is a gaming community that is bigger than GW2, but we are working on growing our GW2 sector right now.
If you are active in the forums and show up to a few events a week, that is good enough for us.
We usually meet up around 8 PM EST to run daily achievements together, and that’s a good time to check us out.
If you have any questions you can message me in game, post here, or join our forums and ask there. Good luck finding a place for you! <3
Hullo thurr Copeh! ^^ Welcome to GW2! You sound like a funny person It sounds like MadCast could be the right fit for you, but there are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you!
My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall (I actually came from Stormbluff Isle myself!), but you can feel free to guest for as long as you want.

Hi Magic! Welcome to GW2! It sounds like MadCast could be the right fit for you, but there are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you! We are an NA community, so if you are European I guess you can skip all of the rest of this info. We have a good chunk of Australians/people who play at that time though.
My guild is on Sanctum of Rall, which is a high population server. Our guild does not require you to transfer to SoR, and we have many members who guest, or who guested for a very long time before deciding to transfer. It’s free and an easy one-click way to join in with the guild members on everything. If you need help guesting just let me know. ^^ I will explain how. We also have no repping requirement, so you are free to stay in the guild with your RL friends, and maybe some of them would want to join us for guild missions, etc some time. They would be welcome!

Hey Lithrean! Welcome back to GW2! Lots of things have happened in the last year, lol, but hopefully you will find it all exciting. Just as a note, you can delete characters as many times as you want to free up space for new ones (unless you are attached). No need to purchase more character slots if you don’t want to. It sounds like MadCast could be the right fit for you, but there are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you! My guild is on Sanctum of Rall, which is a high population server. Before you transfer, do try guesting to see if we are the best server/guild for you. If you need help guesting just let me know. ^^ I will explain how.

I think it’s important to add— using AoEs you can assist players on neighboring platforms during Phase 2. This counts for damage AND healing/buffs. If you are having difficulty in Phase 2, knock the champ up against the wall so players on the other platform can help you. This makes a difference when time is ticking down at the end of Phase 2.
Hi Exit! It sounds like MadCast could be the right fit for you, but there are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you and your friend!
My guild is on Sanctum of Rall but you mention you are primarily looking for PvE content, and we have many members who choose to guest with us. There is no transfer requirement ever. If you should decide you want to transfer, the guild is happy to help you farm up the gold to pay for one.

Hi Shorty! Congrats on hitting level 80 (almost)! There are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you, as a good group of friends make the game exponentially better.

- We are a serious community with casual gameplay. In other words, the main expectations we have for members revolves around positive contribution to the community and not on a packed GW2 schedule attendance. If you are active in the forums and show up when you are available, that is good enough for us. Additionally, because we are casual our community is made out of all levels of players. Hey, we are just getting started with our jumping puzzle run now! I tossed you an invite so hopefully you could join us. ^^
Hey Kevin! Welcome to GW2! The game is awesome, and there are many great communities around. If you played GW1 I’m sure you know this.
My guild is unfortunately an EST guild and so we are probably not online during your times. Unless you start playing at 3 AM. However, I am sure some EU recruiters will be around soon enough. Have fun making your first character!
Karpatz, I’m sorry, I wasn’t feeling well last night and fell asleep right after our townhall meeting! Hopefully someone either already took care of you or can soon. I will see to it tonight if not.
My bad.
This evening I will be helping everyone with Jumping Puzzle completion for the monthly! I will be running through 12 jumping puzzles that are accessible to ALL LEVELS of players with my mesmer, and portaling everyone through to completion!
Hey Seth, you sound like the exact sort of person we like to have over at MadCast Gaming, but unfortunately we are EST based and on Sanctum of Rall (so if you can’t stay up really late and want to play PvP, that probably knocks us out of the running). If those two issues happen to be non-issues for you, let me know.
Otherwise— Welcome to Guild Wars 2! It is an awesome game with many great communities, and I’m sure you will have a wonderful time. Some EU recruiters will probably be along shortly.
GLHF
Hi Karpatz! I will make sure you receive an invite this evening when I get home from work.
Jsuk, MadCast is having a community wide meeting this evening, so many of our players will be occupied with that and get online later. Not exactly sure how long it will run. In the meantime, if you get a chance to post an intro on our forums, we’d love to know more about you!
We had a fun time tonight! Sadly Wv3 seemed to be lagging for everyone on the server tonight. (Skill lag was terrible) We ended up doing TA and some of our lower level people split off to run through the start areas for map completion.
We have been doing some more new player information tonight, but some of us are also running fractals!
If you are interested in meeting our members and hanging out with us this evening, join us in our TeamSpeak or message one of the guild leaders for an invite!
Hi Wrixne! Congrats on hitting level 80! There are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you, as a good group of friends make the game exponentially better.
My guild is on Sanctum of Rall (so for once I don’t have to say my thing about guesting!) MadCast is a gaming community that is bigger than GW2, but we are working on growing our GW2 sector right now. You can check out our website at http://www.madcastgaming.com/forum/forum.php. I especially suggest you read through the forums some to get a feel for what we are all about! Here are some points you may find attractive about MadCast:
- We have a mature community. While MadCast has no specific age requirements we do have high expectations for maturity. You will find kind, patient people and no drama. The vast majority of our members are over 18 (especially in GW2).
- We are a serious community with casual gameplay. In other words, the main expectations we have for members revolves around positive contribution to the community and not on a packed GW2 schedule attendance. If you are active in the forums and show up to a few events a week, that is good enough for us. Additionally, because we are casual our community is made out of all levels of players. We have many very new players, some new to gaming in general, and our environment is built on kindness and helpfulness. People will be happy to answer you questions and guide you through things no matter how basic or advanced. We love new and returning players! ^^
- We have a super awesome, active TeamSpeak group. We enforce strict rules of respectfulness and tolerance among our players, making it a safe friendly place for everyone. People of all types feel comfortable joining in the conversation and making new friends.
If you want to, I’d love to invite you to join us and meet some of our members. I would encourage you to join us in our TeamSpeak (you can find information about that here: http://www.madcastgaming.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?2-New-to-MadCast). Alternatively, you can private message me in game, and I would be happy to add you in to one of our parties. TeamSpeak is our main form of communication, and even if you aren’t comfortable using your mic, it would be great if you installed it just to listen to the chatter. Quite a few of our members participate this way.
If you have any questions you can message me in game, post here, or join our forums and ask there. Good luck finding a place for you! <3
Hi Chaos! First off, welcome to GW2! It is an awesome game and there are many great communities out there. I hope you find the right one for you, as a good group of friends make the game exponentially better.
I made this guide a few weeks ago: http://www.madcastgaming.com/forum/showthread.php?13932-So-You-Want-to-Play-Guild-Wars-2&p=127494 for newer players. It covers things that are not explicitly mentioned in the tutorial. You may know some of them, but if not maybe it will help you out.
My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall, but that’s not really a big deal! Guesting is a really great feature of GW2 that will allow you to do everything with people on another server EXCEPT for WvW. If we end up being a good fit, you can join the guild on another server and save Coin to buy Gems if you like, and transfer later. (Give us a test run first though) We are happy to help dedicated and involved members save for the transfer.

Aww man, you are right. Nothing comes up for me either. Sorry you are having trouble man! Hopefully someone will come along who is recruiting soon.
It tells you what server you are on at your character select screen. The server you belong to only matters for WvWvW, since that is the server wars, so to speak. Every single other part of GW2 can be played on any server you care to guest to.
I hope that answered your question; I am not exactly sure what you are asking. :o
Hi Calaelen! Welcome to the wonderful world of MMOs! :P The game is so much more fun with a good group of friends, so I wish you the best of luck in finding the perfect guild for you.
My guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall, but you can feel free to guest for as long as you want . Some of our members never transfer, so that is ok, but if you ever want to transfer in the future, we are happy to help dedicated and involved members save for the transfer. If you are unsure of how to guest, let me know and I will help you!

Hi Andraxal! Welcome back to GW2! The game is so much more fun with a good group of friends; once you find a guild you will never be able to leave again, haha.
You don’t mention your server— my guild, MadCast Gaming, is on Sanctum of Rall, but you can feel free to guest for as long as you want if you are elsewhere. Some of our members never transfer, so that is ok, but if you ever want to transfer in the future, we are happy to help dedicated and involved members save for the transfer. If you are unsure of how to guest, let me know and I will help you! We are most active between 7 PM and 3 AM EST. (4-12 your time)

Well there are plenty of good Euro guilds around to recruit you, so I won’t give you the whole speel. (US here)
Welcome to GW2 though— we’re glad to have you! Jsuk, you can start playing PvP and WvW from level 1, so don’t forgo that part of the game until you’re level 80. You will be scaled up for WvW, and to even the playing fields in PvP everyone is level 80 with all the skills and traits available.
If you can’t find a Euro guild let me know. :P
