Full condi + minions in open world PvE feels like cheating. You’re basically an immortal cloud of death. SW farming is just wrecking everything that moves.

curse/death/reaper with chill/fear dmg + parasitic contagion + rise + shout trait + rabid. Just aggro everything and melt it all with 100% rise uptime and op heals.

Probably not the most efficient of builds but can liven up farming a bit.

Power reaper in WVW didn’t seem op at all. I switched to rabid/dire and people just can’t handle the condis though. Basically if people don’t know their class well, have little experience needing to cleanse or kite or are in a situation where kiting is impossible they may very well get wrecked.

A reaper that doesn’t know the class is still an easy kill. Positioning is still really important because of no invuln or real ability to escape. Still a major target to get focused. Cant really catch anything unless you get a lucky chill or cripple in. Anybody decent will get away.

Also, unless you have buddies and/or are ready to face tank hell, don’t pull the reaper.

Most of the points are still PPT though. Unfortunately that means match ups for many servers will have scores mostly made up of night capped objectives that sit for hours.

I’m sure it’s different depending on the server but every week seems to be about who can cap everything while everyone else is sleeping.

I’m not sure there’s a perfect solution but anything that encourages scoring while there are actually players around to vs would be great. You could still technically night cap on points per cap/upgrade but hopefully the score would slow up a bit after the upgrades.

Edit: probably should mention PPK raise sounds good too. I do worry that setting it too high would discourage outnumbered fighting. It would compensate groups a bit more for dealing with people infinitely running back from spawn though.

Everyone has their own perspective and this post is undoubtedly oversimplified and probably misses many big issues. From my perspective, these things would directly improve WVW. Maybe breathe a bit of life into things while we wait for bigger changes and some kind of population fix.

I think PPT should die in favor of points per capture and points per upgrade. Maybe points every once in awhile after upgrade. I think this will drive more fighting over objectives…which is their sole purpose. Stuff in WVW should create fights.

There would be a reason to hold objectives and take them + camps could get ridiculous. Night capping everything wouldn’t be quite as effective. Roamers could actually slow upgrade points by taking the camps.

I actually think of siege as a tool of WVW and I like the options there. Taking a keep while under fire from ACs, cat, Bali etc etc needing to take out shield gens etc etc. I think it works as part of the game and mode. Shields and cat shield can be a bit over the top though.

I don’t mind lords/npcs etc etc either…at least in EBG. Merc camps either. Lots of fights in these. If it drives conflict between players it’s good.

Siege needs some kind of limiter though. Whether limiting how close you can place siege, damage etc etc. Bunkering up is fine but 20 ACs is ridiculous and turns away actual fights. If a Zerg is going down to 3 ACs they probably deserve it. If there are 20 ACs, trebs, cats etc etc I think we’re breaking WVW.

Borderlands…too big by far. Too many objectives. Too much time to navigate. Shrink it down, less towers etc so that fights actually happen. Let us get places without so much stupid terrain. Most of the time something goes swords and you can’t even get there in time to defend.

All the gimmicky banners, bonuses etc etc could use a look too.

This is all from the perspective of a guy on a tier 7 server so may be different for higher tiers. We still have good fights, roaming and havoc even in tier 7. We’re constantly outnumbered but it’s not bad until we get chased off the map and spawn camped lol

I know anet probably doesn’t pay attention to forums but thought I’d throw this out there anyway. Would some of the changes described above be really bad ideas or something that could actually improve WVW?

I’m new to the game. I have a warrior at about 65 and not much clue what I’m doing. I’m looking for a crazy casual guild that has 30+ active normally, decent website, teamspeak, stuff to do, no drama, cool people, strange people, mature. Active chat is nice too.

I tend to play a lot but log in and out often and randomly. I’m in it for the fun and not so much the grind…though if I’m having fun the grind isn’t a problem. Generally if I’m blowing stuff up I’m having fun. If I’m having fun it’s not uncommon for me to play for hours straight or overnight (self employed). I don’t mind gathering and crafting as long as it’s only in 5 minute chunks lol

I’ve been through Eve, Ryzom, Wakfu, Terra and a few other MMOs.

I’m currently just lvling via events but eventually dungeons/pvp/fractals/whatever.

For the right guild I’m totally willing to jump servers when I’m ready for WvW. I know what’s it’s like to find the right guild and also the total opposite. Hoping not to end up in an empty chat with a guild leader AFK and 9 alts logged.
