TC loses SM almost every night. Even in T2 there are small gaps in coverage where JQ or FA can blob us down. Doesn’t help that people are bored and doing other things.

SM seems fine to me. 3rd floor siege is a bit annoying. Tactivators and cloaking waters have all been nerfed hard and not much issue. SM outer will almost always be open. The lag issue is more a matter of the game not being able to handle the numbers. Same lag will pop up anywhere the 3 sides meet.

That’s unfortunate too as the fighting and skirmishing that goes on when 3 sides meet in SM lord room could be absolutely epic. Waiting 5 to 20 seconds for skills to fire really ruins things though.

I know that druids have a TON of helpful skills like area cripple with barrage, piercing arrows, water field and heals in druid form.Snip.

Their heals are sub par, their fields clunky, their arrows usually do more damage to themselves than the enemy if you are fighting anyone remotely competent, basically and Ele can still out preform any druid any day of the week in a large setting.

No. We have tested this a lot within my guild using dps meters. If played correctly, the Ele’s healing does not even come remotely close to what Druids can achieve. I am talking ~1,2mio healing Druid vs ~350k Ele in a 6min fight ~20v20. This however requires the group to stay tight and focused, which is often not the case in a public setting. You are absolutely right about the arrows though. I would also agree that you would still rather have 3 eles instead of 3 druids but 1-2eles + 1-2 druids > 3 eles, definitely.

Eles have better water fields. Water fields are just stupid easy for a hammer train to blast. Catch is ele can pull this off while doing stupid amounts of aoe dmg and cc.

Druid does some things well but suffers in ways similar to engi. Heavy/light classes can do more and better for the roles needed in large scale.

Just some of our coms. They cry nonstop about pugs and then get trucked 25v70 because pugs are somewhere else…sick of their whining.

To be fair, we do have some solid commanders who are great at winning outnumbered fights and can use a backline properly. We also have a few that are fine in even fights but will push 30v60 with like 8 melee and then cry nonstop when the backline can’t even bomb properly (melee “train” is useless)

The druid thing just depends on numbers in squad and what we’re facing. If the other side is organized, there will be reflect walls everywhere. Ele can do dmg, cc and water fields…all better than druid. With so much reflect, Druid dmg is better off in pick squad. Same with thief.

I can wreck face on scrapper in melee but guardians are still better at it. Scrapper is nice for stealthing the tag a lot vs pin sniping (mag lol)

There’s no way to win though unless you’re good on guard/ele/necro/rev and can switch into a build that they consider useful. If you’re terrible at guard and switch you will probably still get raged at.

Yeah outnumbered buff shouldn’t even be possible with a queue unless it’s a “fake queue”…basically a large group just hopped maps. This has seemed pretty broken though recently.

Yeah slow as hell boon corrupt class gets kited easily. Stripping boons in slow mo not going to help either. Pet will just stock them up every 16 secs anyway.

Glass druid is simply a bad revenant/daredevil/chronomancer/scrapper. There is no reason to play one except your love for the class, because there are plenty of better buildsavailable. Arguing that it beats a core class (or other bad builds for that matter) is silly, because the requirement for a build to be good, is being able to compete with multiple of best builds, not being favored vs a single good build or many bad builds.
E.g. Core ranger wins 100:0 vs core necro, but core necro is still a much better build over all, because it doesn’t get completely annihilated by the other 8 of 9 classes.

You think my argument is that it’s good because it beats core warrior?

I’ve actually spoken to the people I fought, they know their class well, and they’ve had remarkable success with it against all classes. You can find videos on YouTube showing how well they can perform, and the builds themselves look very solid

Yeah glass druid and even ranger can be tons of fun. They still feel tanky as hell to me for some reason and you can destroy people almost before they realize you’re there. Get a lot of salt for sniping people though.

Do you know the normal setup for zergs nowadays? A frontline full of classes with CC and chasing moves, a backline full of classes that can remove or corrupt boons. NO Druid is escaping, they’ll be locked down like everything else that crosses the group’s path.

So… you’re saying bunker druid is fine as is because a zerg can take one out? You might want to think this one through. o_O

It’s mostly just a bad combination of insane heal, projectile hate, invuln, range, mobility, stealth, evades, damage reduction, boon uptime + pet etc etc. It’s a bit of a bore but I’ve run it a some too.

If nothing else it’s just funny countering almost every cheese build in the game that doesn’t run away.

I’ve run it with condi too as it’s just hilarious how much you can do even with staff via traits and sigils. Power version seem to be better though.

Having good times in T1 TC/kain so far. Never ending BG to fight if you don’t mind being helplessly outnumbered during some hours. FA is fairly spunky despite their pop/coverage issues. Could be even better if FA went T2 and mag came up to T1.

Usually stuff to do or random skirmishing to be had. Lot of the coms don’t give a crap about PPT…which is fine by me. Lot of disdain for medium classes if you run with guild groups though. GREN will serve you well.

If you’re roaming you need to learn how to dodge blobs or deal with other roaming groups. Not as hard as some people make it sound.

Seems decent to me so far. If your server has no one online to fight it’s a server population coverage issue. The skirmish system seems to smooth that out a bit but there’s no way it’s going to completely fix matchups where one server has like 10 on map and another server has 70.

Thief unfair advantage

It’s just another annoying build. The evades have spots you can actually hit. Interrupting them at the end of their evade will royally screw up any average or below thief. Most above average thieves will run something more fun.

We have so much faceroll stupid play now. I know it shouldn’t annoy me but I hate seeing people get wrecked by stupid stuff. On the other hand, I’ve run most of it myself at times so I can’t really fault people for running it.

Can we trade shroud for a block, an invuln, a weapon or skill evade and a decent heal? Shroud is supposed to be this crazy powerful class mechanic. What can we get in trade?

At this point the shroud is an interesting mechanic that really defines necro. It is also a ball and chain though. The elite specs are all about op blocks, op heals, op dmg, op dmg reduction, op evades. Except necro. Necro got shroud again.

Then they had to nerf the stab.

Still hate the map. Would rather roam alpine where there’s not always some stupid cliff to get around. The area above the fire keep is a bit better and a little more desert like. I honestly don’t mind the stupidity of some of the keeps so much as they make for interesting fights sometimes but the center of the map needs opened up more.

Good that it’s available for those that like it. Sucks that it’s my home BL this week though.

If I see a teammate in a 1v1 and they’re doing ok I won’t jump in duel or no unless they run towards me or try to disengage. Good 1v1s are hard enough to find and they don’t need me tagging their win for a bag.

Dueling in stupid places is like playing on the freeway.

There are a few places around sm that usually have duels going on. I’m usually mindful of those and even stop to watch sometimes when the map is boring.

Bunker druid free bag to condi build? Not seeing that at all unless they’re dumb enough to blow the big clear on stuff they shouldn’t or maybe they’re up against two decent condi builds and don’t disengage.

I run a faceroll scrapper build and it still takes me 4 to 6 skills to manage a major condi bomb. On druid I push a button to fix everything + stun break and then stealth for good measure. Kite for cds rinse repeat.

I have every profession, I like to switch things up on a regular basis to keep things fresh and to stay up to date on how to fight every class.

The bunker druid build (which I don’t play) is about as effective as the evade spam thief (or a dueling build on any class), except the thief still has a strong burst. Unlike several other professions (warrior, engi, etc.), the bunker druid scales horribly outside of 1v1’s because it is sustained damage and it relies on pet ai.

The only valid complaint in this whole thread is that they are boring to fight, but being boring doesn’t make them op.

I tried to kill a pretty good bunker druid with another guy – we had no chance. After us was an evade spam thief who also had no chance. All Elites are pretty OP but druid and Berserker are on top of that chain. Druid might even be a bit above Berserker. And it doesn’t really matter how the class scales. And btw: Every class has as least equal if not higher burst than a thief – Deceiver always has got some 20k backstabs which I have never achieved and never received, the common backstab is around 8-9k, coalescence of ruin12-16k, arc divider 13k and so on and so on.. I thought you played every class?

Lol so you’ve seen thieves hit 20k backstabs but because you didn’t do it thieves only have mediocre burst right? Just like because you lost against a druid they have to be op, it can’t be that he was just a much better player than you right?

What’s sad is the meta build for thieves have all the tools needed to deal with a bunker druid as long as you aren’t trying to yolo in and 1 shot him, you don’t have to make a special build for the fight at all.
You can stealth and wait out SotP to deny them their might stacks, hit them with your shortbow to trigger protective ward so you’re out of range of the weakness aoe and then steal to them to rip their protection and hit them with a burst. You also have head shot to interrupt their heals, multiple ways to get out of ancient seeds, extra dodges to avoid pet bursts, shadow shot to bypass their GS block or staff’s sublime conversion.

Seriously, just learn their traits/skills and learn to draw out their cooldowns instead of spamming crap without knowing what you are fighting.

Not sure what build of druid you’re fighting but you would need a pretty solid skill difference if you’re talking about winning the 1v1 on a thief. Or maybe the druid is some brand of potato

Druid will evade, stealth or just facetank your burst and erase it with heal. If you’re not in stealth or evade/block that staff will find you.

Best bet for a thief is to gank from stealth as a +1

Moa = easy necro kill. Necro 2 dodges, los and positioning is the only way to actually avoid dmg other than some spotty projectile hate.

yeh because the bunker druid can’t do any real damage. Pets do around 900 dps, somebody tested, and the staff tickles.

So they need like 3 of them to take down 1 enemy.

This is untrue. Only takes 1 to whittle down most non bunker builds. I’m not even sure how someone could think this. I can kill people on a cleric scepter tempest and it has less damage and generally sucks.

I could care less about the build myself as long as it’s not some nub tapping keep all day. Even thinking of running it on my druid just for lolz.

The state of wvw atm…just not worth worrying about stupid builds anymore. I’ll whine about condi mes but I would run it myself if it didn’t feel so boring.

Need good rvr. Anet has the best chance at it for me just because I like the combat, have all the classes etc etc. Really really blowing it though. Got a refund on gems today before I used them. I just can’t drop any more cash into this if there’s no way for me to have fun.

We should legit take over a tier and balance it manually ourselves, make rules of engagement for each map etc etc. Leave the other 3 tiers to those that like empty maps.

Those that are saying “you just XYZ” to kill a Druid, aren’t fighting the bunker variations. A decent player in a bunker Druid can easily face tank two players and it takes 3+ to bring them down if they are trying to run.

Yep there is a difference. The build I’m talking about can lead 5+ around in circles and then disengage any time someone shows up that’s a legit threat. They are pretty much full bunker/heal and rely on pet and steady staff auto to whittle people down.

Bristleback and smokescale. Truly annoying. I think it was mag I saw running 3 of these side by side. All they had to do was pick a target and it was free bags all day. They string some people out, drop some crazy immob + pet burst and gg.

Yeah I don’t bother with a couple of the druid builds unless I’m bored. Best way to handle them is to step in from stealth just as they’ve blown a couple major cds to make their usual escape. They need to make mistakes to die (or get ganked from stealth)

They can stealth, tank, heal, run around with crazy mobility and dump decent enough dmg. If they had decent aoe zergs would all be druids lol

Pairing two OCX/sea heavy servers for example. What do you get? Throw in two of the top 4 or 5 NA blob servers. Mix it all together and what happens?

OCX/sea heavy servers are bored to tears ktraining up the score every night. Other servers are bored to tears because there’s no one to fight during the day (except each other. Not an option though because of salt. Better that they both tick 100+ while the other servers tick 28) and will probably still “lose” without a lot of overtime.

We may have population data but either the coverage data is severely lacking, someone hates certain servers or generally enjoys a good trolling.

New strat would be yolo zombie bombers. Warriors that leap in, go full zerk insane dropping dps like it’s going out of style, blowing endure pain x2 + stances, vengeance for good measure when they can…then all pop orbs at once, rinse, repeat.

Well RIP most of my dailies… At least I did home instance gather last night…

Game’s been down for way too long. I think at this point some sort of compensation

for both the losses in progress and the very long downtime would be right. Even

something small.

A reminder. You don’t own your account. Arena net owns it and allows you to use it. Everything is theirs and any progress is their property.

But how does ANet differentiate between those who did their daily before the rollback and those that didn’t? It would be easy to tell those who did before the patch and

If they do stay down until too close to reset time tomorrow, then one could argue for giving players a free daily. But not for today. Especially considering today is patch day. Players should not expect every patch day to go smoothly and should plan accordingly. It would also be different if today was not a regularly scheduled patch day.

That was a joke about people who expect things because the server is down for a few
hours, based on the conversation where the guy wanted stuff and I answered him.

Some skills do not show in combat log, had a CoR clipped from ground slope, no red numbers no combat log, half damage to health, no red cracking comming, just the health damage.

Know it was CoR due, figthing a hammer rev at that momment.

Think I’ve had the same thing happen with cor specifically. For that matter, there’s some real twilight zone quality stuff that happens with slopes in this game.

How do you prevent the whole scenario we have now from repeating itself? Hegel wasn’t wrong.

You could jack up transfer costs. It really wouldn’t bother me at all as long as they took steps to try and fix this current mess.

I’m not really sure it’s possible to fix without some anet genius miracle though. 9 servers would be 9 stuffed servers in 3 tiers. That might be a terrible idea as people could leave just getting sick of queues. Friends wouldn’t be able to transfer at all many times.

However it is done, it really feels like it needs blown up. Merged. Something. If they manage to massively improve it some other way than great. Not seeing increased transfer costs as making any kind of difference without other, big steps though.

At the very least, people in T4 deserve a medal, free transfers for life and a million dollars.

Rev hammer 2 can be hard to see coming and will knock you flat if you’re running glassy. Zerk gunflame will get you too. It sounds like you’re talking about power dmg or I’d suspect trapper thief.

Not much else that can sneak up on you without being obvious at least after you’re downed. A good power thief maybe but you should see a flicker before they stealth to stomp. They don’t really need elite spec for that either.

It’s oddly hilarious the ones crying for balance also want to be able to transfer where they want.

In this game mode, it’s either/or. Not both.

Doesn’t have to be balanced. Just has to be better. People who know what they’re looking for don’t cry. They just go find it.

I was happy on GoM but it became apparent that anet wasn’t interested in helping out with T4. Until anet does something to help, raising transfer prices is suspicious.

I’ve transferred twice recently and may transfer again. I’m not bandwagoning. I’m looking for fun. If I’m not allowed to find it there’s no reason for me to play. I suspect you’ll find much the same for many others.

Home server was in T4 hell. Stuck it out a long time but just not worth it. Second server was great but not near enough in my timezone. Third server lots of people run into fights and just get one shot. People dropping in 5v2s and such. Giving it more time as I’ve seen some skilled too and probably don’t know the tags.

Until population balance/coverage is at least improved, trying to force people to stay in terrible matchups, servers, server cultures will likely backfire.

I categorically disagree with the counter blobbing. The way you beat servers that only know how to blob is to outrotate them with havok groups. That group has so little mobility compared to smaller forces that can behave independently.

However, I agree that back capping is insanely boring, and it is pretty similar to an EOTM train. It is most certainly a systemic issue.

Yeah I can kind of agree with that…except back capping isn’t my idea of havoc or fun. If I’m free capping a tower for anything less than trolling to draw fights I don’t feel like I’m WvWing anymore.

And servers that run in blob only mode will never give you a real fight unless you have a blob to fight with. Other than that it’s all back capping, siege humping and wrecking zerglings that squirrel.

Nice fight and kitting. Player knows how to fight and how to counter certain classes. Right focus on targets, more spiky damage would lay guy down.

OP? nope. Thats what happens when dueler meets some random average group fighters dedicated to support zerg.

Some warrior builds are OP as hell right now but I do agree with the zergling thing. There are a couple druid builds out that probably could have picked them apart 1v6 though so OP really is relative.

It’s true, Ehmry is the place to be! Where else do you have a constant skirmish RIGHT OUTSIDE SPAWN?!? You don’t even have to run anywhere. There is ALWAYS something to flip, or everything. And you will learn cool tactics like having your small pug group sacrifice themselves at the front gate of your stolen, waypointed keep over and over until the 5 other people break through watergate!

Right. I agree that back capping is boring. Everyone wants fights and I believe the burden is on ArenaNet to make that happen. To be clear: I believe that is happening. They have said that they are gathering data before releasing fixes for WvW. So hopefully it’s on their upcoming radar.

I was more just saying, as a YB player, I did not see many instances where we were winning because of numbers. There were certainly nights later in the week where it seemed the other servers gave up. But especially early on we were giving people the business.

From my experience playing against YB in T3, you at least had a lot of roamers and small groups running around. Every server has to blob up sometimes as it’s the only real way to counter blobbing. Having a good mix, though, is what makes wvw more fun.

Some servers are all about getting everyone on tag and rolling across the map with superior numbers. So boring…and the other servers are left to back cap if they don’t have enough to defend. No fights then. Turns everything into one big eotm ktrain.
