Would be interesting to maybe let heal through shroud but take a little life force when it happens. So you could top up the necro at a cost of say 30% to 50% life force.
Would be nice to have a more convenient way to shoot someone that’s on the same server. Lining them up between yourself and a reflect wall can be tricky.
Turn all the random mobs into 1 hit ego mobs. Necros get lf, dh can ji, aesthetics preserved. You don’t have a boar chasing you around with knockdowns while you’re rotating skills to fend off a pair of thieves.
The changes to scoring recently have made ppk much more important. Now balling up into an invincible blob and farming smaller groups will win a skirmish without a lot of ppt.
On the flip side, I can roam around and rack up ppk like candy and be contributing. Never could understand why anyone would want to run 50v25 or 70v40 or whatever. It’s nothing but lag and mowing people down.
Eventually the people find something else to do and you’re left with a map blob with nothing to do but flip undefended structures. If that’s your thing then have at it.
lol hilarity. Necros need 2 or 3 trait lines just to make their only real defensive mechanic half decent. Reading some of this stuff, you would think we get everything baseline.
Wouldn’t mind turning down state off…except then there would be no stomps. Stomping people is one of the few fun things left in the game and lets pug scrubs like me cash in an extra point of ppk when we have bloodlust. Maybe down state nerf then.
I wouldn’t mind if all the random animals wandering around became the 1 hit kill variety. Getting blind sided by a boar during a fight is funny if you still manage to win.

Reaper lacks the stupid opness of the rest of the elite specs. The staggering dmg + sustain + mobility + cc at the same time builds. The ridiculous amounts of cc, condi clear, dmg mitigation/negation…all stuff reaper wishes it had and all stuff that gives reaper a very hard time.
Every class in the game except maybe guard can legit run circles around necro. It wasn’t near bad at all when chill uptime was on the crazy side and chill melted people like butter + 50% rise. People had to be more careful how they approached a reaper. Now they come for hugs.
I do wish stupid stuff like gates and walls wouldn’t come up as next target. I’d rather it stick to rotating between targets that are actively trying to kill me.
Wouldn’t mind a bit more control. Something simple like immob then whatever hurts the most wouldn’t be completely terrible. Classes that easily remove certain condis may want to adjust though.

Actually I also voted for 2 Alpine and 1 DBL, because the options were so bad. I really rather have this imbalanced current system than to have 3x DBL many months in a row.
Yep. Honestly wish dbl would just go away. I know there are some that still like it but alpine is so much better. Both for roaming and big fights.
I really don’t think condi is inherently op. I believe certain builds and mechanics need a look. If it were up to me, though, I would rework all of it.
At the very least, fix condi vs large scale, fix condi bunker gank builds, fix invulns vs condi, protection affect condi dmg.
Necro still one of my favorite classes. Seeing one open field in wvw without a portal nearby is pretty much a free bag though. Even the good ones will struggle against someone half competent if they have no escape.
I can park on necros/reapers with ele and just faceroll spam cc/dmg until they die. I don’t even bother kiting reaper shroud anymore unless they really seem to know their stuff (crazy rare). If the boons gets corrupted, the conditions magically disappear.
Necros really do need some love. Would like to play mine more and not be a well bomber zergling.
Terrain issues with los can really screw certain skills up for me. Could look perfectly flat and direct los and screw up. Some skills I end up turning into melee skills if I have any doubt at all. Plague sig is one of those that will just full cd if it doesn’t land. Very annoying.
Wouldnt mind if they disabled this. Also the random 1500 range knockdown from archer that flings you off a wall.
A little fun in chat is great when things get boring. If someone is really trolling then block works fine. If you enjoy even more chaos, get in TS.

The longest base stability duration is ~6 seconds. Boon duration caps at 100%, so the longest you can push that base to is ~12 seconds. Boonsharing an intensity-stacking boon only boosts the stacks, not the duration, so ~12 seconds is the longest possible with that comp.
However.
There is theoretically a way to get longer durations. There is a tempest earth warhorn skill that extends the duration of existing boons by 2 seconds. Let’s say you set up a conga-line of tempests running past a couple players with stability. As each tempest reaches the group, they pop the skill and then continue on to the back of the line. With swiftness, you should be able to get at least 3 tempests past the group per second. This means that they’ll be extending the duration of boons by a net of 5 seconds for every second your tempest conga-line is in action. If you run your tempest conga-line continuously for 12 seconds, you should be able to reach 1 minute of any boon.

Same. Thanks for that btw lol. Can you proc imbued melodies by dropping off a small cliff in the conga line? If so you may be able to sand squall twice and then heat sink for good measure.
Stuns don’t break stuns for more than half a second.
Protection is useless.

Yeah true on that. Half the time you stun break but you’re already standing in enough cc to kill every1 on the map twice over. Best stun breaks are teleport, invuln or ones that include multiple stacks of stab. Invuln is situational as it can lock you into a nasty condi tick.
I just don’t see this going in a great direction. If the majority want things this way then so be it. Will be interesting to see how bad it really gets.

Besides boon stacking with a bunch of guards blowing aoe stab everywhere? Thing is I survive just fine and do my fair share of killing but it’s just not fun anymore. Is this really the direction the majority of players want to take? It seems so boring.
Maybe it’s just me. It just seems too simple to keep people happy over time. Should also note that if you play on lower tiers you may not even know what I’m talking about.
Folks, if we don’t fundamentally change Shroud, then power necro remains borked. Literally, our whole skillbar exists for no reason except to survive while we power up shroud.

Yeah wouldn’t be so bad if shroud actually had some decent survival mechanics. As it is now you get a short stab and then no stun breaks, heals, condi cleanses. Against smarter players you’re basically wrapping yourself for burial. At least it fits the theme.
Bonus is you actually do worse dmg in shroud too unless you’re some reaper shroud condi.
Im breaking a stun or getting dazed/chilled/immobilized every couple of seconds vs some groups (condi map blob). Often times seemingly through stab or maybe it’s getting stripped or corrupted. Add to it DHs or whatever somehow pulling me mid teleport.
It’s very annoying to have people barfing out so much cc in fights. Just walking is a pain in the kitten most of the time. Marks on the ground are usually dripping with cc. Throw in all the passive taunt and fear running around.
Seriously this stuff isn’t fun anymore. Map blobs just melee train up and roll in one direction. 4 or 5 of them always leap way ahead and die like idiots. They catch stuff in cc then kill rinse repeat.
Tone down the cc. Having basilisk venom connected to every freaking well and mark probably sounded like a good idea but it wasn’t. CC is over the top atm. /rant

WvW players creamed their pants so hard with “justice” kittens when the GoB vendor was removed so that PvE players would be “forced” to WvW to get legendary weapons, and now you are asking for special treatment to avoid having to play a game mode you don’t like? That’s such hypocrisy!
So pve players should continue to be required to play wvw for gift of battle and wvwers should continue to be required to pve for legendary armor?
Imo people in wvw that didn’t want to be there shouldn’t be there. They should be given a pve way to get gob again so that they’re not a liability, troll or whiner in wvw and can continue to play the game in a way they enjoy.

I am of the opinion that all of these players claiming condi as OP just do not want to bother with Condition cleanse.
I’m sure this is probably correct for some. I run plenty of cleanse though and still notice certain builds screwing up smaller fights. Condi has issues but it’s certain builds and tons of passive condi application that are the main issues. Fix that and then we can address stuff like resistance + make condi viable for big, organized fights again.
Really is annoying constantly having to disengage with 4K+ burn ticks…even through invuln. At the very least, don’t let classes that can insta drop stupid amounts of condi bunker up at the same time.

It’s also like this. Because of all the power creep classes in HoT almost all of them can melt a thief in a few seconds. Stealth and dodges are your most important tools to prevent melting of course every thief will use those tools every chance they get. Do not expect them to just stand there and give you easy kills. Example is this. If you are a revenant are you not gonna spam sword 2 every chance you get? If you take away stealth for thieves then let just anet delete the class. As if all the nerfs they got isnt enough. And i bet anet is actually believing all this QQ about thieves being OP cause of guys who cant, once again, l2p against thieves
I’d have no problem if they just deleted the thiefs as a class. It’s a very badly implemented class with zero penalty whilst in stealth and zero penalty for reveal. If ‘stealth’ actually meant you had to sneak around to not be detected then great. And the classic thief response of ‘wave your weapon around and hope to contact’ whilst they await cooldowns and pop back out at full HP to have another go with their macro whilst your defences are all still on cooldown or you’re still regaining HP from the last macro having blown your main heal on the 15k damage from the first one…
Personally I find thiefs annoying just because they can pop in and out of stealth at will, plus dodge like it’s going out of fashion when you can see them, whilst moving around like a pinball.
Not many can kill me unless they bring friends (which they usually do) or get really lucky on their first macro when I’m not paying attention as i tend to run quite tanky support builds in wvw, but the whole stealth mechanic plays wrong for me. There should be a penalty in the form of slower movement speed so stealth= sneak or be noticed.

Not hopeless, if you read my post you’ll see they don’t cause me much of an issue on their own against my non-solo builds.
It’s just in an ideal world I’d remove the class or totally rework the cheese oops I mean stealth mechanic to have benefits AND costs.
Seeing how they don’t have any actual sustain that’s a big cost for having stealth and being designed around it as well as having dump over 2/3 of their Initiative to even get into 3 seconds of stealth, while other classes that have more than enough sustain get stealth almost as easily, like Mesmer, Druid and Engie. Also if the Thief is out of combat more than likely you are out of combat as well so there is that.
It just sounds like you need to l2p against thieves. Want to know what’s cheesier than stealth? Passive defenses that carry a lot of the classes ingame currently.
He only cheesy stealth build currently is the ghost thief it shouldn’t exist but it does and if you die to that it really is a l2p unless it’s two or three of them.
It’s kind of funny actually. DDs have a great, short cd block/stun break, teleports out the wazzu, medium armor, top notch mobility, multiple near perma evade builds, stealth for days, a passive invuln, solid condi clear available, a solid low cd heal/evade. Their only major drawbacks are low base hp and lousy stab access. Maybe a shortage on some boons.
The sustain issue is mostly a matter of build. Everyone wants to run nuclear dps (which is fun) but every once in awhile I’ll mix some PVT with marauders and a couple knight trinkets. It’s near unkillable even in heavy aoe and hits hard…will even break bunkers. Even marauders, scrapper runes and dmg reduc food will make a thief stupid tanky.
People argue meta meta meta whatever but that’s mostly going to be pvp/gvg or organized zvz. What matters in wvw small scale is what you want to kill and what you want to run from.
To be clear, I think thief is mostly fine atm (condi, trapper and perma evade could prob use a look). Could be some other stuff I suppose
i legit watched a TC blob pass into a Mag Blob and not a single person died.

One scrapper on tag with stealth helps a lot against driver sniping servers. Other than that there are better options than scrapper in a zerg. Scrapper is more fun to play than guard tho imo.
Eles are a good alternative for keep that engi feeling :P
+1 for ele. Once you play either ele or engi you need lots of buttons to push.
Blighters Boon really needs a buff indeed. But I don’t think a 50% increase in gained health will solve the issue. It might be better to make it as it was again, in which buffs from allies also triggered this trait, but then with a lower health gain modifier than we have now.
Self Boon Application without running Spite is so limited that even now this trait is almost useless (in that case only Sigil of Strengh makes it semi-useful). Toning down the healing would make it completely useless for non Spite solo players and nerf Power Reaper even more.
possible change (to solve the “Necro can’t be healed by allies in shroud” issue):
Blighter’s Boon:
-Increase base healing for self applied boons by 50% (~300HP per boon)
-add self healing with a lower multiplicator for boons applied by allies (~100HP per boon)Problem: This would favor Revenant (Herald) even more because it could be used as a healbot for the teams Reaper.
Yeah current wvw meta even tiny heals per incoming boon would be insane. Might be ok in PvP. The trait kind of brings up a serious issue with necro atm. A lot of traits are almost necessary just to make necro workable (wvw/pvp) and many others are necessary to prop up other traits (spite for bb) just to make them barely useful.
I dont like your changes. I actually like the fact that our shroud is a transformation. Only because Anet implemented it badly (which in my opinion has alot to do with the fact that shroud was our down state at one point) doesnt mean having a transformation as f-skill is bad.
Honestly it also wouldnt be hard to fix the problems shroud has. In the past there where a lot of good suggestions about it.

Shroud is great thematically but needs some serious fixing to open up the class again.
Maybe if shroud gave the dmg reduc but no second life bar, allowed use of heals and utils, life force as more of a shroud timer, shroud dmg bonus, necro getting some skills useful for gap closing/disengage/dmg negation/decent heal/better stun breaks/more boon availability.
Something needs to be done though. Necro is currently too simplistic and lacks a lot of the tools that other classes have as far as controlling engagements and dealing with focus. Even decent ranged dmg (staff?)

To the limit is a 9k heal + full endurance and without running heal ammy. Defiant stance is basically rev’s op heal and can be a full reset. Sig basically dishes out the average heal for other classes only every 15 secs or so + a 2k and condi immunity when needed.
The troll thief build out is stupid but, other than that, stealth isn’t really in a terrible place atm imo. Maybe stealth on bunkers can be a bit crazy…including condi builds.
It is a bit annoying to know playing full DPS will probably mean the possibility of getting practically 1 shot from stealth. Thing is if you play thief you’re used to that anyway. Most of my kills on thief were probably other thieves.
The only thing missing from those yak’s photos are the open field siege they build IF you even manage to get them out of a tower. kittening boring kitten server to fight.
lol was trying to get people to just let YB have the bls. We can all set up fights in EBG and SM. Screw ppt. We were having fun battling it out with PPK until T1 went all stupid. If we had 1 more server that just wants to fight, we could switch out every week or so while YB or whatever PPTs their brains out at #1. We could all be (kind of) happy.
Having a ton of options all at once (like ele/engi) would be crazy awesome for necro. It would probably need a full rework and some awesome animations for the special stuff though.
Whatever they do, I would love for necro to become a more skill based class. I enjoy playing classes that are capable of being really complex.
T1 has gone full PPT stupid. We had some fun there for awhile at least.
Yeah mostly just extra aura spam. I’ve had it save me and even a couple teammates once or twice. Pirate shipping many times I’ll just spam it for magnetic aura and an actual melee push I like to load up frost aura or shock aura.
Seriously conditions are not fine, many cleanses but not enough can never have enough cleanse for them.
You’re not supposed to cleanse all conditions – you’re supposed to die to them, just like any other attack.
I think the complaint people REALLY have against conditions is the sense of helplessness when fighting them. If you get killed by a power burst, you’re down and it’s over. If you’re killed by a condi burst, you’re still up and fighting for a few good seconds.
Eh I tend to run an insane amount of condi clear. It gets old having to reset out of a fight because a bunch of condi huggers happen to be running with a tempest and a couple dhs. Fire aura, frost aura, dh virtues, perplex runes, chaos armor, boon corrupt, epi bombs.
There’s a stupid amount of extra condi application running around. Many straight up skills will apply enough condi to kill you outright if you don’t get it cleansed. A decent epi bomb will near insta down 5 people that don’t have resistance. Just throwing an aoe will get you stacked up vs a condi group…without them even having to cast.
Having cleanse work more efficiently would help greatly. It wouldn’t solve the low skill floor issues with many condi builds but it would help those of us that actually use and manage cleanses.
I can be playing meta and still end up leaving TS and squad because it’s annoying listening to commanders whine incessantly about non meta builds and pugs.
Many times it’s being ridiculously outnumbered or flat out commander mistakes that’s the issue and tag is just scapegoating. They get beat and freak out at medium armor classes when opposing squad prob had near the same amount.
Lot of them pull their backline into stupid stuff and slowly lose them 1 by 1 to the 10 people they ran past that are now sniping the tail with cc. A couple minutes later they’ll cry when they push with melee and backline can’t bomb effectively anymore.
There are definitely legit situations for needing meta builds only (full squad, ask nicely, organized raid w guild group, countering organized group, etc) but sometimes it’s just scapegoating

Team chat is hilarious right now. It’s amazing how many people don’t even bother to read patch notes. Also a bunch that are used to using /t out of habit.
It’s a good feature though. I wish we’d gotten more but wvw has had more changes recently than it has in a long time. At least we’re not quite back to getting nothing yet.
Eh I can still land a single skill to cleave 17k burn on engi. Some guy in PvT isn’t going to be near that dangerous or at least will have some telegraph on the dangerous skills. You want to dish that kind of dmg on power you start trading survivability.
When I run warrior I tend to run heavy boon duration…means stupid high resistance uptime. I rarely have to worry about condis at all unless there’s a boon corrupter running around. If there is that’s the one with lousy stab, no blocks, invulns or extra evades.
I think the main issue, other that a couple builds with stupid amounts of condi application, is the way cleanse works.
Its so easy to puke out condis atm that cleanse can’t get to what’s really killing you. Even worse if you have multiple people puking condis on you. That 3k burn tic should be about managing cleanses but it’s actually a roll of the dice.
Fix cleanse and a lot of the issue disappears. Condi will still be way too easy to apply but at least people would have a better way to manage it instead of hanging out with mallyx revs and other bad crowd people.

BG, mag, TC and maybe YB atm. BG and mag are by far the most stacked and blobby. I haven’t seen YB since transfers so not sure how they are. They do blob up pretty good so depends on how their coverage is now. I’ve seen all 3 of those run 70+ groups at times.
TC always people on but many times not on tag. Bunch of us run around in random directions doing random stuff. More chaos than havoc.
Let’s be honest TC was only a T1 server when it got the mass exodus from SoR.
On topic – The keep changes in HoT have been a major turnoff. All for defenders having an advantage but HoT went too far.
Even now more of a T1.5 server. Couldn’t keep with mag/BG numbers or coverage from what I saw. Some good fights though so many don’t mind getting killed in score.
