Yeah I still don’t get it. Most meta builds shouldn’t have a lot of trouble with thieves unless there’s a skill difference issue or said meta build is a thief.

If you’re getting wrecked by multiple thieves at once then your either outnumbered, out of position or running with pugs.

Still thinking this is probably not being familiar with the class or maybe even a situational awareness thing. I catch a lot of druids or eles in particular, staring off into the clouds while hosing down some poor camp guard.

Nightcapping makes up about 90% of SoS’s score. The scoring change is going to hit your server way harder than most.

From what I’m seeing we lose every week anyway. Just slowing the score down will probably more than compensate.

Aside from that I just want more even fights. I don’t care for capping empty stuff and I don’t care for getting our keep flipped 6 times a day because we have 5 to 10 defenders and the 60 to 70 man horde has three times that just in staff eles.

This is a beta though so I guess we’ll see what anet does with it eventually.

A lot of the GoM commanders seemed to pull back a bit after the link at first. Maybe deferring a bit to SoS commanders and maybe getting used to new tactics and the idea of leading blobvblob.

It’s nice to see more of them tagging up lately. Probably starting to feel more comfortable or noticing the lack of tags. GoM has a lot of good/fun pugmanders/havoc tags…really useful for low and disorganized numbers. Also a few good guild commanders from TM/Bliss/ART/etc/etc.

Maybe we’ll get a more favorable matchup next week and get things rolling again. Between the two servers we should have enough commanders to have tags just about everywhere.

Trouble is linking needs to adjust better to activity and population changes. Does me no good at all to be running 30v70v90 or even 10v50v50 all week again.

Things were great at first but our linked server (the larger of us) has seemed really dead the last couple weeks. That leaves a server that used to rank around 20 trying to fend off a couple tier 2 server pairs that love to tag team, ktrain and spawn camp.

Yeah we’re getting ktrained last couple weeks. All fun and games until you’re trying to defend your corner with 5 v 50+. When queues are up we at least get some decent fights as things are relatively even.

Ktraining and back capping is boring. It’s never ending and ultimately useless. Will wait in queue for good fights (if we ever see queues again on our server pair).

Meh used to have trouble with thieves so I rolled 1. Pretty easy to kill thieves accidentally now that I know what they’re trying to do.

Yeah feels pretty out of control. Everything’s going bruiser DPS or bunker heal. Getting a bit boring unfortunately.

Too much CC. Too much AoE. Too much projectile hate. Too many classes with insane sustain that can still do incredible damage or CC. Too much retalaliation. Perplexity/trapper runes. Boons everywhere. Spammy burst skills, CC, heals, invulns.

Whisper is actually pretty useful and easy to block the idiots. Adding a filter to catch emote spam would be really nice though.

Problem with warrior and all other classes: when they buff it in PVP that buff is multiplied by 10x in WvW.

They must split all 3 game modes: PVP, PVE and WvW.

This. Mix a tempest and a scrapper into the comp with 3 warriors and you have a mobile death machine with 50%+ damage reduction, never ending projectile hate/reflect/retal/regen/healz/invuln/block/freakish burn/insane CC, boons and heals for miles rolling over everything in it’s path.

Seeing more and more of this in the last 2 matchups. Wonder how crazy it will get.

Feels like a combination of stab changes, warrior buffs, nerfs to condi reaper + the insane projectile hate in game atm.

I’ve had this happen a few times. I’ll go into shroud and be using skills, get a couple hits in and suddenly be out of shroud with 70% shroud left. Usually happens in big fights so I just figured it was something to do with lag and interrupts or similar.

Dagger is literally all about porting to a target and auto-attacking them to death now because 1) the auto-attack does ridiculous damage now and 2) positioning yourself to land consecutive backstabs in WvW/PvP mostly just sees you dying to myriad high damage cleave/AoE. It’s sad that this is has happened to the class, but these are just the lingering consequences of HoT.

Yeah this. I still backstab when target isn’t paying attention but easier most of the time to just shadow shot or steal + aa and it leaves you more initiative. Soft targets go down fast anyway and the tanky ones don’t really feel much from the backstab…require some peeling blocks/invuln procs/etc.

When I do land a backstab interrupt with dual sigil procs + pulmonary impact it’s crazy nice and will 1 shot some squishies. Just highly situational.

How do I report someone for refusing to play?

Meh just head home with the rest of them and see if the other team will give you a 5v5. Score will still end the game fast and you’re close to spawn.

If those players were new they’ll prob start catching on in a few games.

Yeah this happened to me again today in SM. Culprit was a druid. Really getting annoying. When your movement skills are on cooldown you’re pretty much hosed unless you can pull off a clutch /dance before getting focused down.

This is happening more often and needs to be fixed. Gonna agree with Stand The Wall. Wouldn’t mind this being priority #1.

Mostly a l2p, Mesmer, confusion, burn thing. Resistance, cleanse, blocks, evades can mitigate up to 100% of condi damage. What I get from it is people just don’t want to screw with the extra complexity of learning to deal with condis.

Power builds get more per button push unless the target likes to face tank stuff or can’t manage condi pressure. Some condi stuff could use tuning for sure. Passive proc condis on hit (perplexity runes) among other things.

Life blast is so slow. Base necro is still horrible. Stacking it up against an elite spec makes it look even worse.

Ele really covers most of the bases just for sheer adaptability. Rev as well. Warrior kind of.

Ele is prob the closest to tops at switching between roles. You can be near immortal command, roaming, frontline support or backline insane dps with meteor shower dishing sick amounts of damage.

Other classes can cover the bases as well but lackluster in some roles.

What build makes you “immortal” in the frontline?

I run full cleric/support with traited stab on overloads and can hang fine with the frontline. Adding scrapper runes, damage reduc food etc etc + focus for an extra invuln and actually being good at ele gets you the rest of the way. You could go full cele too but I never saw a reason for it in WVW.

We have a really good commander that runs ele and leads the frontline. I swear he’s as close to immortal as I’ve seen. We also have a roamer ele that loves to torment small groups and even decent sized zergs. They prob run cele.

I have no problem with loot bags but it is annoying that dropping a mark on a downed player’s head does nothing unless someone else triggers. Same for siege actually. I assume this is intended as it does let you do some decent area denial.

When I hit a player with a mark I’d kind of like it to trigger though.

Yeah really sick of this one. Seems to get me 2 or 3 times a week. Something to do with dodging or stun breaking and stupid ranged knockdown or immob.

Re-logging or dying and re-spawning won’t help. I end up stuck at spawn lol. Completely restarting helps. Sometimes a movement skill or dance will clear it.

To be clear, I love the linked servers thing. I think the whole “you just QQing because you can’t pvd” thing could easily be a lack of perspective though. Lower tier servers got to enjoy a lot of small group pvp without worrying about someone popping an emergency waypoint and rolling over you with 70.

There are a lot of match ups I really enjoyed that are tough to find when every fight has a hard timer before never ending reinforcements show up.

In tier 7, if you had 30 you were rolling fat. The chances of meeting a group that outnumbered you by more than 10 were very slim.

In whatever tier I’m in now, 30 can take camps and maybe ninja a tower outside our corner.

I run around skirmishing and roaming almost non stop. There are little 3v3s 4v4s etc like everywhere now. Just need to be mindful of the blobs moving about. If there are 3 blobs grouped up there will be a soul tearing vortex of skill lag in the area lol

I can understand though. Can be tough to move around solo on many classes now. Havoc groups trying to take towers pretty much have to make sure blobs are occupied or else they get an instant 50+ dropped on them. Can also feel our server identity slowly slipping away.

We’re also almost always outnumbered still lol. How does that even happen?

Perplexity runes op. Confusion in particular is a bit op. Other than that, condis are just delayed dmg. If you take a full condi bomb from most classes you’re probably near dead to power anyway.

Condis don’t get the huge, front loaded dmg that power builds get. They can also be largely negated with dodge/evade/block/heal/cleanse. Just avoiding certain skills and having a decent support build mixed into the group negates a lot of condi dmg.

Also noticed that condis tend the screw with players timing on defensive skills/evade/heal. You can tell when a player is used to dealing with condis.

I mixed in some soldiers/knights + run dodge food and agility sig + dash. I’m near invulnerable unless I make a pretty heavy mistake. I can still land some solid backstabs too. I can stun break/block and then dash 6 or 7 times while dropping stealth if things get really hot.

I run dp and pp. Less mobility and blast finisher than sb but 4 unloads on some poor reaper will generally just destroy them unless they have help.

Definitely not meta but tons of fun.

Got to find a balance that encourages score for actually fighting players in decently balanced fights. Doesn’t matter what time zone. OCX heavy servers can’t get blobbed off every map during NA prime and then have no way to even things out later.

NA heavy servers cant struggle against larger servers, fighting for hours over every scrap of PPT, only to wake up next morning with tick at 20 and another 20000 points behind.

Just because an NA heavy server can wipe another server 70v30 over and over again for massive ppk doesn’t mean it’s not basically pvd.

TLDR most good fights = winning solution. Bonus points for encouraging more small group, havoc, roaming.

There is more open space which makes it easier to do great zerg battles. And the keeps are not Blown out of proportion. And While this can be seen differently i greatly appreciate that there is less random annoyingness with auto turrets and stealth fog and rock walls and all that random jazz.

Honestly if they’d drop the DBL citadel right where the alpine citadel is and smooth out the stupid amount of cliffs in a couple places it’d be golden. Right now just trying to get out of spawn makes me rage. It’s like a suburb of divinity’s reach…facing the wrong direction.

Funny thing is I doubt the change is really that great in pve either. At least you could wreck trash mobs with chill damage before. 1 or 2 extra stacks of bleed aren’t going to make a real difference against stronger mobs. You’re not going to get your shroud combo off with better combo fields around in group settings.

In WVW, condi staff is hitting like a wet noodle again. Same with cttb and shroud 5. Chilling nova and spinal shivers as well. Fear was actually scary with chill dmg.

We just lost way too much raw dmg potential on too many skills. Just because you can spam 5 or 6 times the skills to actually stack bleed dmg in some situations doesn’t make the change a buff…though this probably depends on pvp/pve/wvw.

Land all those skills in a power build and you’re target is down much faster.

Get rid of objective capture messages!

Yeah going to have to agree. There are some nice places for fights in the middle of the map, but citadel and everything around it is just cringeworthy. Knock some walls down and add more ramps.

The quickest route to get somewhere shouldn’t involve face planting 4 times in 20 seconds.

I’m really liking most of the map. Just don’t care for citadel or places where you have to fall 3 or 4 times at heights that do the faceplate thing. Taking falling damage isn’t too bad…without the knockdown.

If you have 250 proof of heroics lying around you can unlock your elite spec through scrolls via merchant.

GS is pretty slow. If you can work with that then no worries. A lot of power builds run dagger/warhorn though. It’s good life force gen and, with blood magic, gives you a nice little sustain boost on dagger aa.

If you’re zerging, something like blood, soul reaping, reaper with a couple traited wells + staff and as much offense as you’re comfortable with. Follow just behind the melee train and bomb the hell out of stuff. You will wreak havoc and tag so much loot. When other zerg breaks up and commander calls weapons free then shroud up and reap some runners.

Just add “bleeds do 33% more dmg” similar to thieves’ poison trait. Then bleed would actually hurt a bit with smaller stacks and we’d have crazy synergy with scepter/dagger.

Truth! Had tons of fun running around besieged SM looking for people to blowtorch in the face. The reaction reminded me a lot of how people used to react to our chill dmg. Just a ton more futile when you land near instant 4K ticks lol

I’ve really enjoyed the linking so far but it does get old having to blob up with specific classes all the time. I’m a bit addicted to chaos. It’s not optimal to have a random group running around like headless chickens but it can be tons of fun.

EVERYONEGETTOTAGANDTSWITHGUARDSELESNECROS can be ok too sometimes but havoc can get a ton of work done while the blobs are busy beating their heads against the wall.

Agreed. They don’t even really count as a speed bump. Usually drop spikes or something stupid like that too. Not even a bag.

To be clear, I have nothing against duelers. Just don’t think the crying is necessary.

If they bother dolys, siege, other players just passing by, tap stuff, try to finish someone on our team, don’t have someone on our team babysitting them then they’re fair game.

Also, don’t cry if you’re dueling in a busy area and get interrupted. It’s basically like playing in the street. You’ll have to learn to dodge a car or two.

I’m an off-hour player many times and, yes it needs fixing. Because I can take at time 5 ppl and get a 500+ tick for hours is ridiculous. 20-40k pt swings in the primetime populations night/morning is ridiculous. So yes it should be marginalized in someway, but you are still going to contribute to the score just not by absurd amounts liek is happening now.

Yes this. I’ve done it too and it’s op as hell. Even worse, opposing servers wake up to their stuff being t3 and owned by someone else.

They deserve huge credit for breathing life into a popular but dieing game mode. It was never going to be instantly perfect. Wvw is getting much needed attention now though.

I really appreciate that. I’ve been buying gems again recently because it feels like the game mode has a future now.

I really do hope they keep working on it and that we don’t make it a total drag for them

I wish PPK made that much difference. Score from objectives and all those dolys doin work is OP.

Not about marginalizing a minority at all. The majority is what is being marginalized atm. We just need to even that out somehow…hopefully intelligently.
