Hi,

Currently guild wars 2 is revolving around dungeons that are of 5 man in size and personally they are fun to play, i’ll admit that. But eventually when I start to run it srather often, it starts to be repetitive and it sort of gets duller each run.

Currently to acheive the FoTM back its more of a grind for ectoplasm or $ to be able to acheive it and personally I think it is driven in the wrong direction. Which inevtiably makes it feel grindy which I think that is not the intention of Anet’s staff for GW2.

Personally, since GW2 is a none grind for gear (stats wise) game, why not introduce “raids”. Where in this raids, it might be 10-15 man (or even more) with the eventual goal of farming for nice looking “skins” that looks better then the current dungeon armors? Eg. Each boss will drop a certain skin for each profession (heavy,medium,light) when defeated? As the guild does these “raids” it makes them bind more as a whole group as they collaborate and work together to defeat these “raid” bosses. I hope to be able to see dungeons that the guild can enter in together and play.

Some people might say that world bosses like dragons would serve this purpose. But there are definitely some things that are different like the sense of acheviement you get when defeating the dragons with pure huge zerg numbers in open world and when you do it within your own 10-15 man. Also the loot chest rewards from these dragons are rather underwhelming with very low chance at exotics/rare. They don’t drop specific skins also. Which is partially one of the reasons why these map bosses are getting less popular as time goes by.

Here are my 2 cents worth. How about yours?

I have to agree with everything you posted here. I love GW2 but the end game for PvE is definitely underwhelming. I am a player who loves to do dungeon runs but its only a few months in and i have exhausted my interest in 5 man dungeons for the most part. As there is nothing else harder than 5 man dungeon at the moment my interest in the game does fizzle out from time to time. Even if they don’t go the way of WoW for example and make super difficult organized raid content it would be nice to see a few 10 man dungeons or something that are more challenging than the 5 man content.

Regarding the world bosses i do find them extremely dull and unrewarding. Something more interesting to consider would be making unique loot that only these bosses can drop like weapon and armor skins. Retooling these encounters to make them more challenging would also be a big plus. Even if they remain somewhat easy zergfests i would still enjoy the prospect of actually being able to be killed if im careless. Right now its possible to pretty stand in 1 spot on all these bosses and (for me) just spam fireball, fireball, fireball, fireball. I could go make dinner and come back and i would still be alive with a nice shiny chest sitting there waiting for me

Look at what happened to WoW – I wouldn’t want an LFG system.

That system is a great system by the way. The biggest problem they had with the auto match up system was the trinity. If you were a healer or tank you had a 1-2 min que and got a group instantly. if you were one of the unfortunately majority of players and played dps you had a 30-45 min que. Since this game does not use the trinity that issue is null and void. Anet has a lot of options to make a quality system that will work for their game though so well see what they come up with

i cant count how many posts there are on this topic already. Anet has also mentioned in their post about plans for 2013 that they are looking to improve their LFG system so im sure something will be coming in the near future here

I think skipping 75% of a dungeon is a joke and the fact that Anet don’t even seem to care about it enough to change it is even worse. It makes dungeons have a bad feel about them.

Yeah some of the trash mobs are horrible and so boring for the rewards you get, but allowing people to skip boses like the second boss in AC is pathetic. AC path 2 requires you to kill the Spiders, the trash group after, then run straight to chains event, run straight to final event, kill those adds and kill boss. That’s 5 fights in a single Exp path, now tell me that isn’t making these dungeons look like a complete joke. If this is really want Anet want from their dungeons then I fail to see any hope for them in the future.

People will always skip the trash unless you make them kill them (which imo should be the case). What’s the point in doing a dungeon if you can skip it all and Anet themselves don’t even care about it.

I think we should have a system that doesn’t let you start the boss event untill atleast 75%ish of the trash leading upto that boss is killed, but lower the drop rates slightly, the fact that you can do 3 exp paths and not get a single rare really isn’t encouraging people to event look at the trash

after playing several MMO’s i honestly think the system where if you “agro the mob it follows you until you die” works best. I think it just levels the playing field for all the groups clearing whatever path in whatever dungeon. No creative ways to leash and skip mobs. They could maybe tune the trash to go down a bit quicker but it would be nice to kill everything you have to kill. If your group can skirt certain groups creatively and not agro them then all the power to you otherwise make it so you have to kill whatever you have to kill. I never had a problem with that system in the past and i dont see myself having an issue with it if it were to be implemented here either. skipping bosses and or exploiting terrain to skip sections of the dungeon should definitely be dealt with though

“improvements to the LFG tool” is a funny statement since we do not have a LFG tool, unless this is a we now have a basic one which we will improve and evolve over the year.

there is a LFG tool but the only problem is that in its current form it does absolutely nothing. so any improvement at this point is a good thing

we can all rejoice! the post that they made today updating their plans for 2013 finally lists improvements to the LFG tool! what those will be is yet to be determined but its nice to see the improvement on their radar now!

this solution is a joke. a sad third party website is barely a temporary solution at best. nobody should have to use some silly website to find a group of people to play with. there should be a simple tool in game like every other established MMO has. hopefully something is being worked on in the near future

I seem to be coming across more and more groups that like to use exploits to make bosses in dungeons easier. If I chose not to exploit, I die or could possibly get removed. If I complain about exploits, it starts an argument and could possibly lead to a kick. Dungeons are slowly becomming a place where you have to exploit or glitch parts of them in order to complete them. Not because the dungeon is impossible, but because 4 out of 5 people want to exploit. If you chose to not exploit with them, your gaming experience becomes about laying on the ground dead, being kicked from groups, or constant arguing. The problems don’t end there either, exploiting can cause you to be banned from the game. So it comes down to hopping on the exploiting bandwagon to experience pve (dungeons), or avoiding them altogether. I am not complaining or whining about exploits, but venting about my worry of being hit with a banhammer. Anyone else have this issue?

I have had exactly the same experience as you mention here. Unfortunately there are a large number of glitches and exploits in pretty much every single dungeon out there at the moment. A lot of these issues have existed since launch or have been created after another fix has been implemented.

Fractals was the last straw for me. When you add up all the issues ranging from exploits in all the dungeons, fractal specific issues such as disconnects and the fact that groups are near impossible to form at times (no LFG tool) it paints a really bleak picture for people that enjoy running dungeons in an MMO. I love this game and I am willing to be patient with a lot of these issues but i definitely think that these problems need a bit more attention than they have received. Other games can receive patches a mere few days after a bug / exploit is reported yet this process is taking months and months now with very little progress

I couldn’t have said it any better myself. Using things like websites and apps to find groups is ridiculous. WoW rolled out their dungeon finder in 2006 which is pretty much the standard for games these days. Its 2 weeks from being 2013 and this game still requires you to spam LFG in Lions Arch in the hopes of finding 4 other like minded people that will join you. Spamming in any chat reaches a very small audience of people and often if you have little success finding people your chat will be suppressed for spamming. Yes friends help, yes guilds help but not everyone has the same options as one another for filling groups. It’s surprising that a game that prides itself on being easy and fun to group with people completely misses the mark with dungeon groups. In no way shape or form am i saying to copy the WoW dungeon finder but they have many many possible solutions they could use to curb this issue

New High End Dungeon

  • UW should be a 10 man Dungeon, to reflect the difficultly and scale of what the players are doing (Venturing into the Underworld)

yes yes yes yes yes! 10 man dungeons that are NON raid. Anet has an ace in the pocket for group composition in this game and thats the fact that your 10 man group doesn’t need to be 2 tanks, 2 healers and 6 dps. Groups would be no more challenging to find than a regular 5 man. 10 man dungeons should be made to create a more epic and challenging experience for high end players without delving into the raid world. If they could create a few 10 man dungeons a long with some sort of good grouping tool I would personally enjoy PvE a lot more right now.

The 5 man dungeons are fine and dandy but I have two completely geared out characters from dungeon exotics now and im tired of running the same 5 man content. As someone who loves PvE in MMO’s there just isnt enough high end content aside from dungeons. Those of you that played WoW will understand this next part. Imagine if the highest PvE content you could run was Heroic Dungeons. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN. Raids made that game for PvE players. I definitely support Anet’s decision to omit raids but they need to put something exciting in their place. 10 man dungeons are the solution!

Path 3 torch event is pretty rough, even for our QA and people know how to do it. I have plans to soften it’s edges a bit (read: nerf), because I honestly can’t get a group to run the darn thing. It can often take long enough to do the first event that you could have done a whole other path if you are in a PuG.
My current plan is to drop it down to 3 torches, so two players who choose tanky/support roles won’t be so punished by the content, and then adjusting the way the spawns behave to provide more of a challenge. (Plans subject to change based on testing feedback)

Thank you for (eventually) making these changes. I enjoy the final boss of path 3 more than the bosses from the other paths so its nice to see this path being opened up and more accessible to groups. As the OP said its nearly impossible to do this path without using vent or something similar. Its very easy to do with everyone on vent but using in game mechanics its a bit too tough to coordinate. It was the same thing with path 1 and groups not running it because the Effigy was way way too tough at first

My group took down that shaman boss where you can get the chest by keeping all of those prisoners alive. The chest appeared before the cut scene came up so i went over to loot it. as i was opening the chest the cut scene came up. after it finished i was no longer able to loot the chest like everyone else. nobody but me had the issue as i was the only one to try looting pre cut scene

thats a joke in and amongst itself. using a website when a grouping mechanic should be included in the game. its a poor workaround for a big problem. maybe it shaves a few min off your LFG time but your still stuck spamming in LA and wasting tons of time trying to form a group. I agree with the OP that the fractals design was not properly thought out and it has indeed led to much frustration among players

The most common causes of GM intervention in other games:

  • Loot disputes
  • Accidentally lost/deleted items
  • Chat moderation

I agree with this completely. Most of the time these 3 issues cover a lot of what a GM does. Unfortunately for us were literally hooped when we encounter issues like bugged loot or buying the wrong non refundable items etc and it sucks that there is no way to fix it. Submitting a report or posting on the forums yields 0 results. I enjoy interacting with a CSR / GM when these issues pop up. It sucks to be ignored now when these issues creep up. I don’t like the too bad so sad mentality

As the previous poster mentioned I would also assume its budgetary limitations that prevent and will prevent GM’s from ever being part of the game. I’m sure games like WoW have entire call centers dedicated to customer support. This game has nothing at all to mimic that level of support

I feel your pain. I haven’t been lucky enough to get a ring yet but i know i wouldn’t be happy if that happened. I’ve had several “similar” issues you could say with not getting the correct loot such as completing a dungeon and not getting any reward (cough TA F/F path) and unfortunately for me i have never received even so much as an official response to it. Submitted a ticket etc but nothing . No GM’s in this game to fix these kind of issues so your probably going to have to re-run it and hope you get another ring. I would love to know if anyone for that matter has had any success reporting something like this and actually being compensated for your loss

I personally have an issue that they are worrying so much about pushing out content that it seems to be taking precedence over so many bugs.

That might be my biggest issue with this game so far. When you add complexity to an already existing complex system, you are almost certainly introducing more bugs. The last thing this game needs is more bugs. I’d much rather have a a few fun activities in a stable game than a million activites I don’t want to do because they’re all a buggy mess.

When I first got the game, I thought ANet wasn’t concerned about keeping players constantly playing. Why should they be? They aren’t losing subs or anything. They were going to make the best game they could and people could play it at their leisure. People could get bored, take breaks for awhile, and come back when they wanted.

But with all these content pushes, it seems like they’re getting frantic trying to keep people playing with the latest shiny activity to distract them. The activities are nice, but I’d rather see them later on in development, when most of the bugs have been ironed out and they have a more stable foundation to build extra content upon.

This was a big debate in another thread as well. Push out more content or polish whats already there. It’s just my personal opinion but i would rather see more polish than new content. I have barely touched fractals right now because of all the issues with it. Zoning in can get buggy / wonky, DC’ing inside screws up the entire party, various exploitable issues in several fractals, the whole difficulty numbers making grouping exhausting and annoying etc. Even going back to the “old” dungeons I can’t think of a single one that i don’t know about some sort of bug / exploit. I would definitely rather see all the original content polished before they add anything else at this point. but thats just me of course, not everyone will share that opinion

I guess none of you ever played another on launch MMO? All things told, guildwars 2 launch has been relatively smooth… The serious bugs that did crop up were fixed rather quickly. Compare this to say WoW’s launch, and oh my god the bugs.

I’ve seen most of the bugs i’ve run across fixed within a week or two. The others there are workarounds that work temporarily, and a few that are probably head scratchers.

Neither of you have likely worked on bug fixing code.. it isn’t like patching a wall or sanding out a ding on your car. :\ some bugs can be so illusive as to hide for years on end, cropping up only in weird situations 7.5 days after daylight savings, but only if the day is tuesday. :P
The thing I would like them to do though, is put a lot more information in to the patch notes. Documentation is everything!

Actually, yes I have done debugging. In fact, that’s part of my current job.

I understand bugs can be ELusive (mass effect fan?) and that they can take time to fix. However, some bugs are more complex than others. And some of these bugs just have no excuse.

The cantrip cooldown trait for the ele for instance. This trait decreases the cooldown time for 3 out of the 4 skills it’s supposed to. It works fine for the other 3 skills. Changing a number isn’t terribly complex. And even if the skill has a unikittenfect that is complicating matters, they’ve had three months to fix it now! Are they so understaffed that someone can’t spare a half a day to sort through the problem and straighten this out?

To add insult to injury, they said they fixed it in the patch notes and they didn’t. That’s just sloppy. I know before I patch any piece of software I support, I go through and test the fixes listed in the patch notes to make sure they actually work.

I agree that some of the fixes are indeed sloppy in that regard. The notes say its fixed and in reality it really isnt fixed. Its strange that every environment like sPvP and PvE etc can yield different results. Works here, doesnt work there. Makes me wonder where they are testing all of these fixes at?

Some of the bugs really dont have an excuse i completely agree. In the options menu they give you different UI size options for example. Choosing small or large UI yields text bugs in both results that have been there since beta. Thats one example of a head scratching bug thats still in the game. why give people options if they dont work? Get rid of them until you fix it

Another head scratcher is HoTW explorable mode. Why fix the exploit on the last boss in path 3 yet leave the bug where your group can go through the wall and kill the boss of path 2 as well? why fix something so silly and leave a more important issue out like the groups that are farming 120 tokens a run. On that note i cant think of a single dungeon that isnt bugged / exploitable in some way. the fixes are not coming quick enough at all especially when this kinda stuff is supposed to be the end game. Dungeons are mostly terrain exploits and i dont believe for a second that it would take someone more than a full work day to plug most of the holes so to speak

I certainly have played other MMO’s at launch and i do agree with the fact that at least this game was playable unlike WoW’s launch which was catastrophic. I don’t remember so much on the bug front with that launch but the server capacity issue and their servers constantly going down was a big deal. Also their classes needed a ton of work at launch

I have done some work on code in the past and i find it hugely frustrating. I know what they are up against for sure. Coding and debugging definitely isnt for me. A lot of these bugged events im sure are a real pain in the butt to try to fix because some of the problems can be quite elusive as you say

I have to jump on board with this one. I love this game a lot but first things first here. It’s plagued by an unbelievable amount of bugs. A number so unimaginably high that I’ve never seen anything close to this in my life. There are two very infuriating things about that fact

1) a lot of bugs that existed during the beta phase of this game still exist today. These range from trait / skill bugs to broken events. The UI bugs with small / large UI still exist etc. The amount of time it’s taking to even catch up on this bug list is unreal. Let alone all of the bugs that are being created with the more recent patches. its a vicious cycle

2) there is very very little feedback regarding these bugs. the amount of rage posts about certain issues all over these forums is crazy. Nobody is officially acknowledging a majority of these issues and that’s making people very angry. A simple reply with a lot of these issues will go a long ways

I definitely miss having GM’s in game. I don’t mind submitting a ticket when i encounter a bug etc as i definitely don’t need to speak to someone directly about it. but for other issues like completing a dungeon and not receiving any reward for example that’s something that i would like a GM to confirm so they can fix the issue. I’ve posted on the forums and submitted many bug tickets and I never receive any sort of reply for those issues. If you miss a reward you miss a reward. There’s no getting it back.

Another example is if someone purchases the wrong dungeon gear from the vendors in LA etc and need someone to refund the tokens and fix the mistake. Post all you want on the forums and submit a billion tickets, nobody is going to get back to you. Its a huge gap in customer service that’s missing there. GM’s aren’t necessary for every little thing but they sure are helpful. Having played MMO’s for over a decade I can tell you this is one major “feature” if you will that’s missing

try warping to the mists and then using the portal to Lions Arch. that should help. logging in and out again should remove you from combat. if your still stuck when you log back on try going to the mists

I am really starting to get frustrated. Not with the dungeons themselves but with finding groups to go to the dungeons.

1) I am tired of being suppressed in Lions Arch after 3 messages to find a group.
2) I am tired of trying to find someone with explorable mode to do a dungeon with good rewards and an actual challenge. I would do story mode but like many of the people complaining on the forums YOU CAN’T FIND ANYONE WHO WANTS TO DO STORYMODE!
3) I am tired of pre-dungeon events. They happen too often! I wouldn’t mind doing them once every 3 hours if I just so happen to be doing the dungeon when the portal has been closed but it seriously feels like I go into a dungeon, do one path, pop out only to be confronted with a 20 minute pre-dungeon event that I just did! Extremely frustrating.

Completely agree with everything you wrote here. There are 0 mechanics in place to find groups at the moment which is a huge problem when these dungeons are the end game content. This game prides itself on making playing with friends or random people easy and enjoyable yet completely misses the mark with dungeon groups. its not easy to fill groups period. we need a dungeon grouping tool of some sort. absolutely anything is an improvement over the current methods

a refund system is definitely needed for people that accidentally purchase karma / token gear. a lot of time is spent farming dungeons for tokens in the first place and certain people out there make the mistake of purchasing the wrong gear. what happens next? suck it up and salvage it basically. hours of time wasted in that dungeon only to buy the wrong thing. thankfully i haven’t had to deal with that yet :P . only makes sense to allow a refund though

I just realized that their “lost shores and beyond” didn’t include anything for grouping or community, in exception to the Guild bit.

Seems a little unfortunate, but I am sure they have a mile long list of things they are looking into that we will never see.

Very true im certain they do have a long list. However this issue is quickly creeping up the charts im sure. the amount of hate happening right now for the whole fractal dungeon and with nobody able to find groups and forum raging over it its going to be impossible for them to ignore for much longer. A dungeon tool, regardless of the end result they decide to go for needs to be implemented one way or another

This should be one of those top prioty features to implement now. It’s become increasingly difficult to find a group for non-fractal dungeons since the patch. This part of the game is beginning to feel like a dieing MMO, not one three months out from launch.

You can spam in LA for 30 mins LFG for any explorable and you aren’t guaranteed to get a group. It takes me a good 30 minutes to find a group if I don’t get lucky at the best of times, at the worst times to find a group I just log out.

People are going to start leaving if they can’t even access the content they want to access.

I know they have stated before that a LFG system is not currently being worked on and may be looked at in the future but its causing way too many issues right now to be ignored. This game has great grouping mechanics everywhere you look except for dungeons which was completely ignored for some reason. I really hope they make this a priority to implement in the very near future otherwise as you have already stated peoples interest will wane significantly if they cant find a group after a lengthy spam session in LA

Not getting credit for killing any karka

I noticed that all of the veteran karka’s i killed would not give me credit for the monthly karka kills. a similar issue to not receiving xp / loot. no credit for the kills at all. young karka count for the monthly. the big guys though. nothing. i just skip em and farm the small guys

map spam is a waste of time half the time and a guild can only do so much. I’m in the same boat in regards to the guild comment above. You can ask and ask and ask and might not get a single person thats on your difficulty. My guild is full at 500 members with well over 100 on during peak hours and still dead silence sometimes. The writing on the wall is clear here folks. Finding groups is challenging right now. no ifs ands or buts about it. its challenging. period. something needs to be done. hopefully its being looked at sooner than later

I have encountered everything you just mentioned. LFG for “old” dungeons is now more challenging than ever with all of the different fractal groups out there. The fractal difficulties have created this severe divide of players all wanting to do different difficulty levels. Its not just LFG fractals its LFG fractal 1 or 2 or 3 or 45. A LFG tool is an important feature that really needs to be looked at. In its most basic form all we essentially need it to accomplish is just creating the group. It doesnt have to go the way of WoW and hold your hand and teleport your whole group to the zone / dungeon but it definitely needs to pair people up

I got pretty upset after finding out that fractals does NOT reset, meaning i’m stuck at lvl 1 and unable to find people to do fractals with because everyone is already at 2+

And lets face it; noone will ever do lvl 1 if they are paste it..noone.

I am a player that is past level 1 and i completely agree with you. I will not spend an hour and a half doing level 1 ever again and thats a problem. I have the same problem you do. I am at a low level still but find it very challenging to find people to group with because everyone else is past that. Nobody including myself wants to go backwards and do the lower difficulty settings again because its a waste of time. better loot on the higher levels right so why bother? its definitely a problem i hope they will address

lots of people have been experiencing the same issue since launch or before. unfortunately they have stated that they are having trouble pinpointing the exact root of the bug but its definitely a very well known issue. i have had it happen with ranger pets and a fire elemental from elementalist

Monster invulnerable bug

I know they will go invulnerable when you try to snipe them from a place where they can’t reach you.

I have ready said it, in the middle of a combat with the monster right next to each other: ie I’m hitting it and it is hitting me. It will all of a sudden becomes invulnerable and walks back to its “spawn point”. Sometimes it happens 2 meters away, sometimes it happens on its spawn spot. And it happens more often in under water monsters than land ones. And it is random.

i haven’t quite seen the issue you are describing with the monster going invulnerable but i have seen plenty of times where the monster will “leash” in the middle of combat and run back to the spot you pulled them from while regenerating health. that mechanic seems a bit odd as certain monsters do not do it in the same spot or same distance from their pull point. i’ve seen some underwater monsters go invulnerable for a few seconds and then come out of it but nothing on land thats been right in front of me

i did encounter a renown heart event in Timberline falls i believe where you have to wake up drunks with a bucket of water. after the first bucket i used to wake someone up it no longer worked period. i tried it a good dozen times on different targets all around the camp. nothing. i used the other objectives to complete the heart and moved on

I like the team aspect of GW2, but it’s conflicting to see AreaNet give you a team required content, but by no means do they provide you a good networking tool to get a fast/high-quality group together. Come on AreaNet, where you at with a LFG tool?

Then don’t make finding party such a pain. And don’t make some dungeons near impossible. That’s just grief players

First of all:
Assuming you dodge and don’t run a glasscannon setup, all dungeons are straightforward and easy. Many are boring due to easy but endlessly-long bossfights, yes. None are difficult in the slightest.

Second:
It’s not difficult to find a party. Go to LA, /m, got a party within 10 minutes. Works every single time so far, independent of where I want to go.

the difficulty is not an issue for me but i will comment on finding a party. With fractals now its very challenging for people to find a group for their specific difficulty. Your not just looking for a fractals group which would be easy to find. your looking for a fractals 1 or fractals 2 or fractals 3 group etc etc. The amount of people per specific difficulty is a lot lower than the population just doing fractals in general so its an extreme pain right now to find people. this new dungeon also takes away from the player base of the old dungeons and its taking slightly longer to find groups for those dungeons as well

I doubt a the ones who want a matchmaker realize what that does to the game.

That will knock out a huge part of socializing from a mmo, wich i built around socializing. Why else would you want to play it. If you want to do the obscure dungeons, you will have a much better time if you find friends, get a large guild, or severall, you can do that now.

That lfg spam might be annoying but you have the option to turn it off if your not interested in it. But it still brings people together.

What else would get people to talk ingame? With a dungeon finder, all people would do would be log in, run a few dungeon finder games with random people each time, possibly not even talking during it, then going for some instanced pvp that they can join with 2 clicks, again no talking, then run with the zerg in WvW. Mmos are supposed to be social games, so go out and be social, the more friends and guildies you have the higher chances you can make a party.

hahahah im sorry but spamming LFG HoTW in LA for example is not a social aspect of the game. its a hassle. and its also a hassle that will get your chat spamming suppressed. There is absolutely no social or remotely fun aspect of spamming LFG in chat for half hour and getting 1 reply out of it. What am i doing exactly? interviewing someone for a position in my group? I spam LFG and someone writes back “inv”. WHOOOA the social aspect there is mind blowing. a LFG tool cuts the garbage part out of looking for people and pairs you up with someone. so what 4 other people didnt message me the word “inv” before we started. i wont lose sleep over it. and ill definitely enjoy the experience more knowing that i have an extra half hour of my day that i dont have to waste sitting in LA spamming the chat. Sorry but the “social” argument of spamming chat to LFG is ridiculous

i agree with the OP in terms of the difficulty number severely hampering your ability to form a group. with NO dungeon finder on the horizon it makes looking for a group for this place a serious pain. spam chat all you want to try and find people and then guess what happens? your messages get suppressed because nobody cares to run fractals 1 or 2 or 3 even after your asked 25 times. The dungeon is great (minus the bugs). grouping for the dungeon is absolutely horrible. this game has made great strides with some unique mechanics and gameplay but its in the ice age when it comes to finding groups

part of this could be intended mechanic and part could be bug. depends on the specific circumstance. if you stand somewhere high for example and pelt an enemy that cant reach you then the enemy will take damage for a few seconds and then turn invulnerable since it cant fight back. thats intended. if you have specific issues of standing say face to face with an enemy that does that randomly its definitely a bug. need more info

I’ve been trying to find a group to dungeon with but I can’t say anything due to my messages being “suppressed for excessive messaging”. I’ve run into the suppression system before, but it only suppressed my messages for around 2 minutes or so, but I’ve been suppressed for over an hour now and I can’t find any dungeons because of this. Is this intended, or is it just a bug? If this is intended, I hope you will please reconsider this system because it prevents players from finding groups to dungeon with.

this is a very irritating point you bring up. there is no dungeon finding tool to help people put together groups yet your constant LFM or LFG messaging ends up in you being suppressed from chat. there is currently no real viable way to build a group for anything unless you get lucky on one of your first attempts at spamming chat. Unfortunately a dungeon tool is not in the works and i dont think this issue will improve anytime soon. only way i get around this is to have other people in my group start spamming chat in my place. frustrating to say the least

what post are you referring to exactly? im looking at “DC in fractals. no way to get back in” on the front page of the dungeon forums where Robert Hrouda says that this is indeed a bug and a fix is in the works

there is no compensation being offered for these bugs unfortunately. those tokens are long gone. my entire group submitted an in game bug report after we cleared path 1 in TA and did not receive any completion award. This was a month and a half ago and none of us heard a peep about it. tokens are gone unfortunately

there has also been a bug since launch with the large UI as well. It adds some funky text here and there. the little circle bullet points dont seem to translate up to large UI and end up being capital E’s with a line above them. Theres a few other funky text problems too with large. Seems like any change to the UI at this point is a bit bugged unfortunately

Missing Graveling Mounds

i’ve found that melee characters even with the “missing” bug do the most damage to these mounds by far. you can rotate around the mound and keep swinging and it will go down fairly quickly

as far as ele is concerned thats what i play for my main. ive found a good strat using fireballs with a staff. since the fireballs arc downwards and eventually hit the ground so you can figure out the distance you need to be from the mound to hit them 100% of the time with your auto attack. a few other moves will indeed hit them as well but nothing does as much damage as the fireballs constantly pelting them

i play a mesmer as well and i noticed that my greatsword auto attack had no problem doing damage to them either. no missing and no obstructed

i have also had no issues with skill points from leveling in WvW. not to say there might not be an issue somewhere there as you claim. something thats in your favor though is the fact that you get infinite skill points even after “leveling” past 80. so worst case you might just lose this 1 skill point but youll get it back eventually
