The thing is, the Signet is not supposed to be a burst heal. That’s Healing Surge.
I’ll wait for an ANet developer to confirm what a skill should or should not be, thanks.
And yet we’ve had Signet of Rage, which has the very opposite effect, for quite a while now.
This needs to be addressed at some point as well.
For the rest of your response, I never said it was perfectly balanced, just that I was spitballing random ideas. There may certainly be other better ideas than mine, or ideas that are more balanced, but the actual balance rests in ANet’s hands, not our own. The fact stands that the Healing Signet active ability needs to be improved in some manner, otherwise half of the reason signets are designed the way they are is being left to rot. I only provided some examples to get the ball rolling.
So I love the new changes that the Warrior saw today. Looks great.
One thing really bothers me, though. You know how signets are supposed to have really powerful active effects? This has been the trend that has been confirmed by developers from the get-go. Well, look at Healing Signet’s active ability:
- Heal 3,275 + (0.5 x Healing) HP on a 20 second cooldown.
Meanwhile Healing Surge at max adrenaline is:
- Heal 9,820 + (1.5 x Healing) HP on a 30 second cooldown.
Heck, let’s look at the no adrenaline heal on Healing Surge and ignore the major boost of full adrenaline:
- Heal 5,885 + (0.9 x Healing) HP on a 30 second cooldown.
Even that is significantly better than the Healing Signet active skill. Now I realize that the power of Healing Signet is in the passive, but it is senseless to have a Signet that no one would ever want to pop because the passive is leaps and bounds above whatever the active could do.
So let’s talk about some cool things that the Healing Signet active ability could get. I’m just spitballing here, but these are some random ideas I had offhand.
Healing Signet
- 25 second cooldown
- Heal 4,000 + (0.75 x Healing) HP
- Gain Protection for 8 seconds
Healing Signet
- 25 second cooldown
- Heal 3,750 + (0.75 x Healing) HP
- Fully restore your endurance
- Breaks Stun
Healing Signet
- 20 second cooldown
- Heal 3,275 + (0.5 x Healing) HP
- You take no damage from attacks for 3 seconds
- Breaks Stun
These sorts of ideas could be expanded on, but suffice it to say that the skill needs to do more in order to validate ever activating it at all.
The only time I use it is when I am forced to range with MH dagger out, weapon swakitten till on cooldown, all of my other skills are on cooldown, and DS is on cooldown (or no LF). Needless to say, I agree with you and it needs a significant buff / rework (I do love the idea of a vampiric skill, though, so I’d vote for keeping it but significantly buffing it).
I personally used DS to soak Mossman’s attacks in L48 fractals when he would target me. It’s especially meaningful in that boss fight because you get LF back quickly thanks to the wolves. I’m really going to miss being able to do that.
Tonight is Guild Challenges! This week will also be our first Guild Puzzle, and we’re looking to have that Thursday this week. In the future, it’ll probably be on Tuesday with the challenge, but we’ll decide that for next week.
What days/times do you typically do guild missions?
I’ve added the times to the OP. Thanks for bringing it up.
I was going to fight tooth and nail to get a rapier, but then it ended up not being a member of this weapon set. Now I doubt I’ll try to get any of them at all.
I will spend 2400 gems yesterday for an Endless Repair Canister. Thank you very much, and have a nice day.
Phew! Brand new week, and a lot of excitement to be had since this is our first week with puzzles. Let me know if you’re interested in tagging along!
It’s not that tough. More than anything it’s just a test of dps and how long you’re willing to sit down and faceroll mobs for a measly 50 silver.
Treks and rushes were a success! Four days until puzzles, and then another day to get a puzzle researched. We’ll try to cram them in at the later part of next week for the commendations and to get some practice in.
Remember, we’re always happy to have new people around, so let us know if you’re interested.
send an email to exploits@arena.net with as much description as possible. That’s really about it.
Do this, please. Don’t post it.
This is pure speculation based around ascended weapons and armor. The biggest problem with speculation like this is that we aren’t even expecting ascended weapons and armor until much later in the year, so most of these bubbles will crash up until we get an announcement that confirms that they are in the “next update”.
My level 6 Engineer.
I want to know to sell them before they lose all their value once (500) are introduced and are required for the Gift of Might, or to craft it ASAP before the changes roll out.
If it can affect the market, you can be sure they won’t tell you ahead of time. You’ll have to wait and see.
Who said anything about cost? A superior rune of the centaur is only 71 silver, and centaur runes are just a 20% time increase. You still must use the focus.
This is good news for farmers.
I didn’t say I agree with him, just seemed to me what he was talking about. Reality is that the OP doesn’t make a lot of sense regardless because it lacks context.
Learn to love the focus. Or stop being cheap and use Centaur runes.
He’s more likely referring to the magic find changes.
Live and breath transmutation crystals or you’ll be forever ugly. It’s like the biggest gem store seller. If you want your old skins on the new stats, you’ll need to transmute them.
This belongs more in the Audio forum than the BLTC forum.
Guild bounties were a success last night as was to be expected, and tonight will be fun times with treks and rushes. Less than a week for puzzles!
Also, Dez (if you read this), I’m pretty sure I remembered to respond to your mail, but my short-term memory is incredibly poor, so I totally don’t remember. I’ll fire you a follow-up tonight just in case I forgot, haha. Looking forward to talking to you more in-game.
Honestly, considering the demand on Charged Cores/Lodestones, and the fact that CoE is objectively “harder” than CoF, even if it’s still “easy” for good players, I’d hazard that a CoE 1-2-3 sweep will be the new go-to farm for the pubs hands down.
Hey, absolutely! I look forward to checking out the in-game mail when I get home in a few hours. I’ll make sure to respond as soon as I can. Thanks for your interest!
C’mon guys… Working as intended!
I’d like to see Malrona. She’s fairly simple to get down in one time warp, but I’d like to see a sub 8 second kill or something, hah.
I think I saw a video of her instakilling herself with one volley of her poison projectiles thanks to a properly built Mesmer’s Feedback. Sub 4 seconds is probably totally doable depending on how soon you can get her to pop her projectiles.
You heard incorrectly. Colin only said that there would be no new dragon this year, and spoke nothing of next year.
Oh he totally is, but what he is isn’t really relevant to what I was saying; I just chose him as an arbitrary target for speed runners, and tried to provide justification for why speed runners like GL more. I could just as easily have said Tazza from SE or something. :P
I won’t lie, I definitely ran banner regeneration at one point in my life on my warrior. Never again.
It doesn’t bother me that players can beat him so quickly. I actually sort of wish he were harder so more pubs would fail and be forced to play better or stop trying. I love having a boss that people think of fondly as “that boss that is insanely tough”. That in itself is part of why GL is such a meaningful target for these speed clear groups, and not something else like L48 Fractal Grawl boss or whatever. That’s all why I really like the idea of making his projectiles unblockable.
I deleted my PVT set months ago.. kinda want the skins back off it now >_>
Mine has sentimental value, but it just isn’t worth it to me to burn another 6 transmutation crystals just to recover the skins. Full Arah set and all.. /sigh
Guardian in PVT gives other enough freedom to use something more suitable for dps.
I used to think this way, and since then I’ve gone full zerker and never looked back. You just don’t need the extra tanking stats (vitality in particular is garbage) when you can do so much damage that you can solo grubs in seconds against Grawl boss (for instance).
I do have a knight’s set for some encounters where taking hits is inevitable or where I need a to be packing a ton of group condition management, but I never bust out my PVT set anymore unless I’m going into WvW with a zerg.
I love playing solo sometimes when I feel like just going and punching something. I think the freedom to do both is a good thing. I am glad there exists content specific for groups, like dungeons and guild missions, but I am also glad that there is solo-friendly content like the open world.
Hey mesmers, here’s an ability that reflects projectiles.
…except when we don’t want you to.
Yep, just like Old Tom, siege weapons in WvW, and plenty of other places where such precedent exists. I don’t think the unblockable projectile functionality should be too prevalent, but I do think GL would be a better fight if it were the case for him.
It matters, but we all pretty much know exactly what happened at the Mouth of Torment.
It would still make a more epic and awesome fractal than the Thaumanova Reactor, and you know it! #TeamGnashblade
Feedback is fine, the problem is that GL’s projectiles should be unblockable. That would really kick it up a notch in a positive way, in my opinion.
I’m more curious about this than anything else, but since there are Living World updates directly affecting Fractals of the Mists now, is there any chance that these updates through the living story will increase the difficulty cap that we can progress to? L48 is fine and dandy, but everyone really wants to push higher and higher for both bragging rights and better rewards (and while we’re at it, please fix fractal rewards to not suck!).
Do we have any information on this from reliable sources, or is this something that an ANet developer can touch on a bit?
Challenges were a great success last night, and we burst through our remaining training missions too! Guess what that means? Yeah, that’s right! We started the research for guild puzzles last night, and the whole guild was super excited. It’ll be a little over a week before the research finishes, and a few more days after that before we have the uses researched, but they’re on the horizon!
Tonight is bounties, so come join us if you need them (or just want to run around with us, haha).
I chose Hellfire vambraces because compared to the other fiery options available, Hellfire crushes them all. Plus, I really love the fingers, and the fact that it looks really good on light armor sets (unlike Molten Gloves from F&F, which is better on heavy). I’ll probably get Radiant pauldrons, though, because the Hellfire pauldrons look like garbage and float off the shoulders. As for the helmet, I think both are terrible, and both remove Charr horns (CURSE YOU ANET!), but I’ll probably get Radiant there.
Warrior still wins at the ranged role, although really, just punch all the mobs in the face.
Oh my, I was on a business trip last week and didn’t get a chance to bring this up at all!
We had successful challenges, rushes, and bounties as usual. We’re also that much closer to unlocking puzzles! We’re up to 41k influence, and with 9k more (We currently have 2 trainings waiting to be completed) we’ll be able to get it going. We’re all very excited for it, and also excited to actually put our 250 merits to good use. If you’d like to be a part of our group, please don’t hesitate to let us know! We’d love to have you.
Cheers.
I spent 4 hours on this the other day, and practically punched my monitor. It was the least enjoyable experience I have ever had the displeasure of partaking of in the search for achievements, and quite frankly completely ruined the game for me. The bugs associated with this, the fact that my drinks remove 20% instead of 10% and my water heals 10% instead of 20%, coupled with the insanity and poor testing put into this NPC, make this a nightmare.
Please for the love of all that is good hotfix this ANet.
You don’t have to clear them all out. Just delete the ones sent from Arena Net for the recent festivals and keep the one with sentimental value. It will appear for you just fine. All those “(No Subject)” ones and the “Aetherblade Lair Located” one look like good candidates for deletion. Maybe the ANet emails are causing the problem you’re seeing, who knows.
You are really grasping here.
Ok, my Human/Asura/Sylvarri/Charr Warrior and Guardian do not have native access to stealth…and don’t try to throw the karma item from the Charr noob zone as an example – it isn’t the same mechanic.
If you really want to go there (including races), technically all of those classes have blast finishers, and they can blast smoke fields for area of effect stealth. They could even use leap finishers through them for personal stealth!
Epic thread necro, guys, but I’m going to contribute all the same!
Regardless of what any of you above posters say, clearly you never played GW1 and if you did it was not prior to the alcohol spam patch…
LMAO, when they changed it to a point system and not time, I thought about all that time I took just sitting around, spamming booze every 3 min.
PS. Thank god for CoF runs, Making the booze time go faster. IT was 10k minutes, correct?
Yeah, it was 10k minutes. I did it during my DoASC runs. Let me tell you how amazing it was trying to tank mobs while the drunken effect was playing. It was like attempting to do something already difficult while tripping on LSD. In hindsight, I’m not even mad that they changed it, haha.
There isn’t a way.
Celestial (that literally its name, like Zerker and Valk define stat sets).
As in full stat spread evenly.
I think he’s curious about how many of each stat each piece provides.
These achievements are arguably worth the 50 in terms of time investment to achieve them. Honestly, they could even be worth more and it’d be fine; getting 50/50 HoM points is a serious accomplishment.
And for the record, anyone can still get them, just go hop over to GW1 and work on the HoM.
These bugs are pretty terrible. We need to make a concentrated effort to keep this thread near the top to make sure it gets seen.
