I choose Darkhaven (before the break up) due to the Rethesis [RE] guild.
We had some great fun with those guys fighting the hordes of DragonBrand and also Friday night fight club. Organised 1vs1 in WvW? Genius.

I’m really sad that such a great server has been broken and NSP feels your pain as we went through the same thing before you.

They’re kinda broken in small fights, in large fights though they’re all but useless.

Especially the ones that aim for the cheese backstab strat, where they just stealth, backstab, spam hearsteeker, then stealth again.

Main thing is that you don’t really get the satisfaction of killing them when you win. When a thief is about to die versus me, he just uses CnD, shadow refuge, and I never see him again.

In large fights they are amazingly destructive.
Devonas Rest have a huge population of thieves in their zergs.

We don’t have the numbers to keep a presence in two maps and a lot of the time not even one map. Even then other servers presence is greater than ours, its been a few weeks since we’ve even built the waypoint upgrade at garrison and had it last more than a day. With that said, we like being able to clutch onto one keep in EB fully upgraded, whereas AR struggles to take a keep(and defend) that takes 10 seconds to walk to from spawn.

I’d like to say I know how each server shapes up population wise, but I play in off prime hours so I’m pretty lonely besides the constant spew of DR all over the place.

Path of least resistance, like it or not. But for DR regarding our BL and AR side of EB

Sad to see all the guilds leave Darkhaven for elsewhere. If it was possible for WE, RE, and GoF to team up in either Fergusons’s or ET would be nice. SE has died in Kaineng as most of my WvW’ers have left me to build their own guild. SE is currently in NSP atm rebuilding. Hope you see some of you guys in WvW soon.

For those NS that were killed in the Eternal Grounds jumping puzzle. You can thank the LooT guild on your server. Up until today its been pretty easy going in the EB JP. Today that guild camped for over an hour. Finally we got someone past and decided that we were going to camp it ourselves. If they stop camping it, we will not camp it anymore as it just seems childish.

Please do not take the actions of the PvE guild [LooT] as what the WvW NSP community is like.
We thank LooT for little as they contribute little to anything.
But again, do not hold this against us, you’ll most likely never see a LooT commander leading a zerg anywhere other than off a cliff.

If you come up against this again please send me a message. I’m not going to pretend I can do anything about it as the will most likely try and troll me off the map. But I can try atleast.

Been having a good time myself, we almost had all of eb earlier, just couldn’t quite take the inner door of nsp keep. Logged off for a few hours to do some rl stuff, came back and nsp had all but our keep. Anvil made a surge later but ran into a brick wall in dr bl so went to smash nsp bl instead.

I don’t understand all this solo, 5man or Zerg kitten talk. A good healthy servers needs all 3 and a good commander will use the strengths of those assetts to dominate the battlefield. If you wanna 5man all day, be my guest – however it isn’t smallmanpvp so don’t cry if everyone else doesn’t share your view.

Oh Devona I have already had to report two of your players today for hacking(well botting, it’s my only option), is this how you have decided to come up in the ranks. Tell the norn warrior in AoD that warriors don’t have a teleport. I have to say, I am really disappointed, and on Christmas Eve no less. People used to think my Guardian was a warrior because I play it like one.

Guardians have a huge long range teleport and one that I use quite often.
to get in the middle of a zerg before tanking.
Anyone who stands up in a crowd and shouts “hack” tends to actually just be wrong. I’ve seen a warrior using a skill that looks like a teleport over a 600range distance which can be used in succession.

Please don’t post stuff like this, for your own servers sake. DR are a tough fight, but I’m enjoying their lack of tactical ingenuity backed up by sheer numbers and a Red keep.
Report people sure, just don’t disgrace a guild over it. Because you are probably mistaken.

The situation in EB has turned into a stalemate. Neither we nor NSP have enough strength to smash eachother’s defenses. We can’t take stonemist, and you guys can’t take overlook. We can’t get organized enough to take stonemist, and you guys can’t build up enough strength to push through our absurd amounts of siege. It’s very exhausting.

This is a great matchup and finally a tier we are not just the Zerg server. Hopefully we are showing we have some tactics and not the one trick ponies were labelled.

You attack Northern SM with trebs.
We lose outer wall.
We beat you.
You run back to your keep and hide.
Your keep is stacked with siege.
We have to fall back.
And repeat cycle.

We’ve attacked it from every angle. Not enough people to cover it all.
Commanding in EB all day though.
Sorry if I’m slightly grumpy.

i like fighting your guild, although i grind my teeth everytime we let you build that fire base on the hill over OL. We tried the mad rush counter on reset which failed. We managed to counter treb today though. Everytime a treb went down the other side threw up another. One of your treb firers is a great shot though, bang on tgt against our counter trebs all the time.

I believe that was Commander Kerjors fine shooting that you are referring to, I know, because I was laughing.
(Sorry IRD but during morning I watched Kerjor take out 5 of their trebs with his single flash treb. He was shooting and blocking their attacks at one point. One man armied it)
Red keep is overpowered. That hill is probably my favourite vantage point to use, its a high tier server move from what I know. Not many norms recognise it as viable, but its kitten effective.

From what I’ve observed over the past week.

During NA Primetime – 6pm 12am , NSP comes in third with AV and GOM making it a good fight for first.

During the weekend its a very close match, NSP never had a lead above 10k.

During off-peak hours Night and day crews, NSP pulls ahead during the week, M-F.

So right now NSP’s off peak crews are carrying it this match. If AR and GOM want to make a push for 1st they will need to focus on NSP as much as they can to keep their off peak lead from getting out of reach.

Too late for this match but something to think about for next week.

In my view guys. They are soulbound so they cannot be sold or mailed in huge stacks to people inside WvW.
But P2P trading them is fine. I mean really. Why not. It doesn’t damage the economy and siege gets burned at a ridiculous rate anyway.

If Anet has put such an obvious option in the game, then its not an exploit.
As for wiki, can’t be used as a credible source. A dev can explain better.

And NSP should be attacking AR because they still have a shot at winning.

To the Gates of Madness guys, and especially their Commander (someone from [LoR] I think, please shout here if it was you, Guardian.) who I jumped up and down on a couple of times when we rolled you. Our Borderland has been in plenty of turmoil and from what I last saw ~(not on gw atm) AR are making a big push in EB.
We will recap it when East Coast time comes around although I’m not sure about what our presence this current Wednesday will be like.

Nobody uses the 24 hour and 3 day matches as a means of ranking. Everyone recognized that those were being used by Anet as data gathering for their ranking.

Starting with the week long matches/ranking. NSP has never been a top tier server. You started with us, Anvil Rock in Tier 7, we were actually matched up for 2 weeks straight. If you can’t remember this far back then you weren’t paying attention. NSP has always been a middle of the pack server, peaking @ Tier 5.

The facts are that every server has lost alliances and guilds. So making a long list of the trails and tribulations that your server has gone thru doesn’t make your plight any worse than ours.

And if you want to be brutally honest, thru all our troubles AR has risen in the ranks and NSP has fallen.

From the looks of things we’re going to be stuck with each other for while cuz I don’t see either of our servers moving up or down a tier anytime soon. So lets make the best of it.

No one has stated that what I said was in Beta testing. I definitely didn’t.

Hard either way. Both had ton of siege and was upgraded.
I remember DB having trouble taking our last keep in EB b/c it was upgraded and we had siege.

Always take keep first. Treb from Mendons while we were distracting at Veloka and use those 7 Golems that were in our keep (from SM) to quick down the inner.
AR had about 15 people.

But I didn’t want to give the advice since it was Meow on. Last time I voiced by opinion I was unfortunately ignored and blocked. Which is hardly what should be happening.

I got to admit our early morning crew is getting little stronger at this point. We held strong in EB after we took SM with a golem rush.

Voleka was painful though.

How to get PvE’ers into WvW: By Commander Bird Song.

1) Acquire a large stick (staff may be used)

2) Find a large sack

3) Fill sack with rocks

4) Write the words FREE LOOT on bag

5) Place bag on stick

6) Run around Lions Arch and then through a WvW Asuran Portal.

7) Repeat until you have a queue.

I don’t know if you are a NSP original, but our first two match up have been again NSP.

We got stomped so bad, it was crazy. Controling one tower was a challenge, and it didn’t happen often. That’s was 2 weeks of karma train only, because it was the only thing we could do.

Now we came back, but we still don’t have enought to shut you down. But at least it’s a good match up!

And by the way, admire your conviction in refusal to die? You guys had a pretty competitive server since release. You lost guild a short time ago.

Anvil Rock lost every match up since release, except one. We lost an alliance, we lost our biggest guild right away. During 2 month, we got stomped, we didn’t have any chance in any match up.

So I have a hard time admiring a server that had it easier then us! :P (no offence intended!)

NSP is a great server and I’m happy to see them still rolling in this tier. I just think you underestimate the state of your server. With your coverage around the clock, you won’t fall down.

Please, just don’t talk. It’s pretty obvious that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

NSP was a top server (I believe we were T1 before the move) until our major alliance (several hundred players) left. We had a free fall all the way back down to T8. That was back in…September I believe? Might have been early October.

I don’t know Anvil Rock’s history, and frankly I really couldn’t care less. But don’t run around with some sob story because most of the servers below T4 have either had the same problems, or have never had success at all.

Don’t take is so hard man, only explaning that NSP isn’t in a worse situation then most server.

I don’t remember NSP ever being Top 1? Tier 3 max? never seen NSP in T1 or T2.

Every server lost guild, we lost ANV early, being a couple hundred of player. I don’t try to get sympathy, I was just annoyed by Rob saying we should admire your conviction…

Man people on this thread get worked up pretty fast. There was no insult, no offence, and I wasn’t trying to get any sympathy.

Every server work hard to keep it up, no one in the lower tiers had it easy.

NSP has actually lost 2 alliances.
We lost the Ascension alliance a few weeks into the game, they took 90% of our night crew, which was literally hundreds of people ( [RH] filipino guild) and the vast majority of our day time guys.

We then built up a new alliance after being slaughtered and dropping several brackets. We then started to storm up through the ranks and many of those new players who saw the second rise of NSP are actually still here (Os guild is actually the last main body and are NSP originals).
But again, it crashed. The HOPE alliance fell apart and 99% of the guilds, starting with [VIP] left systematically (again hundreds upon hundreds of people). I believe the current list is; [VIP] [TFO] [FINE] [LoM] [war] [Elf] (died) [Aeon] etc.. (those are the recent huge guilds. The list of the Ascension alliance guilds is ridiculously long, spans into a thousand people).

I am NSP original, but I have played on other European servers with my friends from home.
Anvil Rock has never been a top tier server so you may not know the disappointment that has filled the people of NSP who have been here since the start. And yes, we were a tier 2 server, I hope no one has forgotten that we used to be above Jade Quarry.

But although you may hold us in high regard since we are winning, this is nothing to which we used to be.
We don’t even have queues on reset night.
