Unfortunately guys, unless you have heard already. I believe this is the first post about it on the forums.
The Northern Shiverpeaks has lost several of its key Night crew guilds today, to Kaineng and other servers.
We wish them the best of luck although we don’t fully understand why after all this time they would abandon us.
It seems like although from score we knew that we were losing. But Kaineng has officially won now, on all levels.

I’m not quite sure how to finish this post.
In the sense that NSP still limped on because it maintained its Triangle. With Meow as the night crew, Os as the day crew and anyone else holding up the middle.

I think the only way to end this is simply.

Here are my observations:
1. Kaineng has a MUCH bigger WvW population – Zerg beats skill
2. I observed WM’s “bot train” that has been mentioned (it sure appeared to be bots to me)
3. Kaineng did not win any popularity contests by: camping spawns with large numbers and siege, bringing Golems to attack a tower (when it was the only tower we owned in our BL), and acting like they are superior to both the other servers in skill (could not tell due to the massive numbers they brought to battle.).

In the end it is just a game, but intentionally ruining other server’s fun just so you can “rise through the tiers” and feel good about yourselves, is not cool.

First off, thanks for the very well-written post. I agree that the server transfer policy is the issue.

The only point that I emphatically disagree with is your last one, where we’re apparently trumpeting our superior skill. I don’t think that’s the case at all – not in this matchup or any other one in the past. I think you must be confusing this week’s forum thread with how it was when DR was mucking around in T6.

Unfortunately I have to agree with Bloodhawk and an excellent post it was. Although the bot train might be slightly exaggerated.

And I also have to address you Dhampyr on yours.
We would much rather fight Devonas Rest than put up with Kainengs arrogance any day.
Devonas Rest fought well and of course, yes, they had their own arrogant traits. But.
They did not spawn camp in the excess that Kaineng do with a united guild presence which last nearly 24hours.

Now, I have spoken as if my server agrees with me. But it has been pointed out before that I cannot speak for them. Fortunately those were the same fools who thought they could actually fight Kaineng and win. I wonder if I should laugh or be disgusted in our own ignorance?

To Kaineng, this week has not been a match of World vs World. It has been a game of World vs Spawn were a horde has triumph against common servers. This is not your fault and I do not hold you to it.
But nor should you feel as if you have won anything. You shouldn’t be pleased with yourself. Just keep looking forward and you’ll face the tiers that have broken many servers like yourself before, and even my own.

No luck is given, nor received.
Just do what you need to do and tone down the excess.

This board is slowly getting quieter.
And I think thats because less and less people are WvW’ing in this match.

Lol I though it was hilarious when you danced in laughed over my corpse, considering how you ran at the sight of me earlier even with a campful of NPC’s on your side, and then later a party of other players. Only when they killed me by sheer numbers did you return to do so. Hopefully that really made you happy because I feel sorry for you. You can only improve by trying, not soloing a wall with autoattack like when I found you.

I was attacked by two Kaineng full 80’s on my lvl11 thief.

So I came back and downed one before the other killed me.

One point that would make WvW matches more interesting:
Server that ends the match
1rst pos. should automatically get in upper thier
2nd pos stays in actual tier
3rd pos drop a tier.

That would prevent from fighting a server during 2-3 weeks in a row, as NSP are with Anvil Rock this week, and many times before.

That would prevent players from getting bored.

The server from the tier above would most certainly own the map like Kaineng is now.
If Borlis or Devonas moves down to tier6 next week we will most likely lose to them.

But I have to say, War Machine are a real machine.
I was filled with pure enjoyment today to finally be fighting a foe that just.. Gets it.
I didn’t even feel bad when your guys wiped out our pugs. Because you know. Our pugs really deserved it. If this game had a slap option, I would have probably slapped each and everyone of them, have them open their eyes and take notes.

Truly I tip my hat to you. Well played.

But on a side note. Yes, your overall play as a united server is much much better than ours.
But our lonesome guilds which include my guild and others, do indeed outplay you more times than we really should but unfortunately don’t have the numbers backing.

I’ll post a screenshot later on. But in NSP bl this evening, you were holding our garrison and we were wiped in the Lords room more than once.
But honestly, I ram around the stairway and jumped ontop of the Lords room. And destroyed every single bit of siege in that room as our zergs clashed.
No no no, this wasn’t unmanned siege. You’re guys didn’t even look up! Quick tricks like that are still keeping us in this fight.

I’m not sure why it is. But after fighting Devonas I have the feeling in the tier below some of these little ‘moves’ were never discovered or mass used. Or maybe you don’t deem them worthy. But anyway. I enjoyed it c:

Hmm actually it wasn’t a Greek city. It was a Spartan city.
The Greek cities had a different government and hence law system than the Spartans. The border between Greek land and Spartan land was drawn in the sand as is any two different nations.
They both fought wars against each other on more than a few occasions. Athens being the Cities of Greeces capital and Sparta being of the Spartans.
Much of the Greek empire was split after Alexander the Conqueror fell. For instance Macedonia and the Greek cities had quite a blood feud.

Kaineng visiting to see the upcoming competition and know how best to fight you. I am a Tactician first, Combatant second. There is nothing more important than accurate intel on an enemy.

You might remember me as “That annoying guy Phill tried getting to join Meow because he kept harassing Phill.” ONLY reason I didn’t join is I felt it would be unfair since I was going to eventually leave.

We don’t bother doing that. I just take all the info I get from people on the servers and compile it into a rough sketch of size and timezones.
Not as if its of much use at the moment XD
But now we are actually fighting prepare to be studied and your Commanders judged. Will give them to friends in the tier above. They can sort themselves to counter if they want.

Not gonna lie Rob…without Meow Guild I would’ve bailed on NSP without helping at all in WvW. Was you guys and SOUL that kept me around and you guys were the reason I actually defended what I did and upgraded what I did while I was there. I remember being treated like garbage at the first suggestion in Map chat that we can hold and defend what we had in NSPBL vs. DR. You guys had the population and capability to fight DR…but most of your population lacked the will or drive.

Note: I’m seriously NOT trying to be mean…I saw more passion in shouting down my absurd idea of holding off DR than I did in actually fighting them.(Later on TOA I think is the Guild?…They also kept me around a bit. NSP has some awesome Guilds…but a horrible general populace as far as ‘welcoming’.)

Also to be fair: We didn’t initially welcome the Guilds either. I think the main difference was…we made it very clear we intend to fight our way as high as we can and don’t want hanger’s on. Not because we want to be higher tier…but because we want better fights. I would wager 75%+ of Kaineng doesn’t care one bit what our “Ranking” is…only that we have enemies to fight and places to defend.

Either way you have to look at it how, (I’m not going to say ‘we’ because half the Commanders know diddly squat) the dedicated eventually train themselves to view the map. I register everything as a statistical number, I take into consideration zerg size, zerg level, zerg response time and zerg guild level.
Against DR in those last weeks we had enough numbers to take and hold one map. But doing that would not increase our points and keep us in the tier.
So we had to try and cap/map swap faster then AR and DR. Dropping down to grab what we could.
But server pride runs strong in the Commanders who have been in NSP since the start and have witnessed the double rise and fall. We’d take SM and hold it against everything just to spite DR and AR.
But the thing is. We have some vile players who do not care about anyone except themselves. Or do not know enough to make an accurate choice. This spawns from NSP being a PvE server.
And those guys are great at PvE, but when they come into WvW they continue to think they are gods.
And quite a few of them are now Commanders.
And the PvE pugs follow the PvE Commander.
But when things start going bad. They all leave.

Which is just strangling the actual WvW leaders to death. Thats myself included.

-.- And so it begins…again. The Guilds that initially joined us did so in a manner anyone would find respectable. They sent a couple scouts who came to Kaineng and chatted us up, they asked our opinions and wanted to basically make sure they would fit. I know 100% that Kaineng was not the only one to get these Scouts. However, in the end they decided Kaineng fit them best. To think they did this for the easy fights rather than for the atmosphere of the Server is kinda foolish. For those who bail when we lose?…Yes…they were probably here for easy fights. But I think many people will be surprised at how few of the “Primary Transfer Guilds” will bail on us. Not gonna claim no one will leave…there’s bound to be those who will. But our Server has become even more united and strong BECAUSE of them. They brought a level of organization that I appreciate and enjoy…

There is only 2 things I would change if I could:

1) Not having to go up through the ranks 1 by 1. Kaineng has grown each Tier and I think THOSE people are “Bandwagoner Fairweathers” who I would rather not(in general! Meaning not necessarily all of them!) have on the Server.
2) No Queues.

There we’re scouts on NSP from guilds that went to Kaineng and others.
But I’m sure the NSP community gave them hell.
Our dudes can’t even be nice to their own Commanders, never mind people coming in.

No offence to you actually pleasant folk who I know and love <3
But you know how NSP is.
The nice guys say nothing while the army of horrid trolls constantly berate your every move, either in whisper or map.

I am not on Kaineng but I was for one week in order to complete my map completion. I am watching them to see how many tiers they can go up while still painting the BL’s and EB their color.

That’ll change in tier 5.
Tier 5 is the dawn of 24/7 servers and tier 4 has them as a requirement.

There coverage isn’t too bad. I posted this earlier but their pugs and tactics could use improvement.

I am on BG which is in tier 1 and have only played in tier 3 and above, so I have seen a lot of impressive tactics.

The one week I was on Kaineng for 100% map completion I joined in every now and than to WvW with them. I only commanded one and that was it, but there was definitely a difference in their pugs from higher tiers.

I am sure they are getting better and better though! So I am truly psyched about how far they can accomplish.

This is the first day and also the weekend, we will poke holes in their online times and take notes on when its guilds and when its pugs. The world changes when people need to go to school and work.
Once upon a time I would have outright said that NSP may be outmanned, but we still bring the tactics and skill to the fight. And although that may have been diluted in our community there are some of us who can still take detailed enemy intel and put it to its most efficient use.

Although we may come last this week, what we learn can be used in the future.

Under what we were facing. I’d say kudos to our guys. The Kaineng Horde met Shiverpeaks steel.
Looks like Anvil Rock have sort of given up. But I’m not surprised.
I have also turned in for the day and will let all the Commanders, who talked down my name after I suggested we drop a tier to avoid this, do the work.

Possibly that will soften their arrogance in the future, but I do indeed doubt they will even show up. Didn’t see any of them this morning… what a shame.

@Rob Currently Ive heard nothing from Anet that pins down if this is a bug or an exploit, but seeing everything else that is exploited it is definitely possible. One thing I have noticed is that players that start the animation but don’t finish it, then move on to finish another player, what you experienced tends to happen.

Well I thought it was just lag even though I don’t lag on anything else.
But the guildy who had been fighting beside me had it happen to him moments before as we were both on vent.
Thinking back to this morning. I was staked AFTER I stood up (rallied) this morning which actually looked hilarious because it looked as if I was chopped in half and we all had a good laugh at it. And no that wasn’t just on my screen others saw it on theirs too.
But thats besides the point. Has the staking system picked up a flaw somewhere? I could be just because I’m European but my ping is better on a usa server than an euro based one..
Its a minor thing anyway, but annoying if the stake is even a few seconds early or slow especially in a heated battle.

Just wanted to ask here first.
Is there a stake exploit where you can instantly stake someone?
Like a Quarter stake is how a guildy put it.

And this wasn’t quickness ect. The person who did it to me and my guildy didn’t have those buffs.

Just love watching the points during the day shoot up for AR, then at night everything belongs to NSP.

NSP has good US morning-afternoon/evening numbers but at night it has struggled after ~10PM US EST. Even that night time presence on a weakened DH server seems to be better. If anyone saw the potential points breakdown/NSP borderlands about 5-6hrs after reset on opening night and the 2v1 thoughts/accusations coming from the outmanned NSP players at that time, you know this to be true.

Considering that pretty much the only wvw guilds left on NSP are the ones who won’t leave regardless of anything, the guilds on AR/DH who want to move (back) up in tier should consider coming over. (:

We only have queues (for a couple minutes) at reset for our borderlands and EB. And usually it is a struggle just to start the breakout event in opposing borderlands because there is no one there. We also are lacking in commanders/leadership outside of EB these days (not counting randoms who have bought the commander tag and just wear it on occasion to get pugs to follow them when they feel like taking a camp/tower).

Think about it.

It would only take a few of those AR primetime guilds to xfer to make the difference. Even if NSP had one more big Primetime guild it would mean we could split and hold 2 maps at once. Throw in a European guild from our sister server and we would have a 24hour crew.

It is something to consider, but the guilds on NSP won’t leave it. We’ve suffered enough at the hands of xfer’ing and it does build a form of stubbornness.

I would just like to say good luck to DH they are a good server.You may have less people but when you get going you are tough as nails.I fought one of your thieves outside Stargrove supply camps for at least 5 minutes till he finally got the upper hand and killed me. If it wasnt for the fact that your pve maps would be deserted I would consider a transfer based on your WvW tactics and style.Good luck hope to see you again soon.

If you want full PvE maps dude. You should move to NSP.
Theres a guild someone was telling me about here that is dedicated to just farming the grub.

We’ll do our best to help them this week. No worries guys. They might still be around to face you next week.
Maybe we can test the metal of Kainengs Oceanics against NSP steel. Not sure if you’ve fought a server which still has a working Night crew yet.

Meow and the other night crew Commanders are off for the night including myself.
Theres a gap between our Pimetime and our Nightcrew.
Night crew is Generally Oceanic. Primetime is Generally the states. Morning and early afternoon crew are European.
But most of our Europeans left the server with their guilds.

So.
Yes.
That and fair-weather players leave the map when they stop winning badly.
