I don’t know about the other 2 servers, but unfortunately for you, while DR doesn’t have as many small roaming guilds, it does have AD, NoQQ, and Btsy that will be doing the same things to you that the small NSP guilds do.

P.S. you should have gone with the whole North Korea invasion story, it was much more exciting of a plan for all your “phases” than moving up a tier.

A server wide “phase” or agreement is really hard to pull off tier4 and below.
So they’re probably just putting a label on something which just so happened to happen.
That an AR wouldn’t stand a chance in tier5. Our matches are very even (usually).

Step 1) Come close to winning a WvW match, but just at the end give it up.

Step 9) Take the siege golems we saved and turn them into Omegas

Step 11) Stack all 100 Omegas ontop of each other

Step 12) Press the uber-secret 6 skill which appears once 100 Omegas are stacked upon one another. This will produce “Golimus Prime”

Step 13) Siege and knockdown walls which separate the WvW tier matches using Golimus Prime.

Step 14) Roll dem noobs.

Noone in Tier 8 really seems to want to listen to reason or understand that there is no other opponent to match with you. Tier 7 opponents will also kill you. If you want Anet to change the system to better protect low wvw population servers, then by all means ask for it. But asking for a new opponent from Tier 7 really just shows you have no idea what you are asking for.

The only option I can see is to just disband the lowest tier and spread the numbers evenly across all the other servers like they did in beta when they had probs with NSP server.

Of course give those lower three servers free tranfers for a month so they can move out together as guilds. Anyone left would just be inactive and get a random server.

That would help with the dwindling population on higher tier servers and also get rid of the lopsided system.

There will always be a lowest tier though, and any problems that exist in tier 8 would simply float up to tier 7. The matchups are inherently unfair because humans are selfish. The simplest solution is quite simply the one that noone ever wants to hear: If you really enjoy spending your time playing wvw in Guildwars, switch servers. Only you are responsible for your own good time.

Xfers would be turned off for the other servers though.
And the ones in t7 wouldn’t be much affected. Because I seriously doubt all the WvW from all three servers would move into just one.

Because transfers on a glicko system is what caused this.

Hey guys, I just wanted to put this into perspective for you all.

I’m from the Northern Shiverpeaks a Tier6 server who’ve done time in Tier5.

The first attached is our score (we’re red) at this reset.

The second attached is the score when we last played Sorrows Furnace and Eredons Terrace (we’re green).

Right now we are set up to move down into tier7.
Sorrows furnace may move up into tier 7 in a few weeks.

Do you really think we’re an even match? and we will be only a tier above you.

(Yes both servers may have changed, but I’m just offering scores from previous not change in server pop, and from what I can see. SF and ET’s scores are still similar.)

Night shift is a bit of a misnomer. There is a coverage gap on NSP from about midnight-2 am server to whenever eu logs on in which the skeleton crew that is our WvW pop we have on is running from map to map answering calls for help. Has been like this ever since we lost our oceanic crew. Not counting the absurdidity of the last day, NSP has been ticking ~200-220 when I log out at about 1-2am server. Its then PvD until the eu contingent comes on. So yes Rob, there is NO nightshift. hasnt been for a while. However, not recognising those people who are busting their kittens to hold what they can with minimal numbers is just poor. I know I and many others have pulled long hours holding on waiting for hopefully the next crew to get on. As Smitry says, we need more oceanics and euros if you expect to see a better looking map when you log on.

I am European. 2am is my shift start time.
It’ll take Oceanics to recruit more oceanic’s and bring them into WvW.
But even though I appreciate the few people like myself and Smit who come on and do their part? This is a thousand man server.
Where is the rest of it.

The moment NSP finally realizes it’s not a good idea to trash talk on the forums will be the moment NSP finally does not have to deal with getting “double teamed” the vast majority of the week. BP generally hates AR more than NSP, unless of course you wipe Kalkz numerous times causing him/her to go into total rage mode until s/he has either quit or actually taken whatever it is s/he wanted.

AR hates BP more than NSP unless of course people on NSP trash talk AR enough to get TwoGallants all hot and bothered enough to lead ALS through our borderlands, or some AR commander decides to attack NSP out of pure spite for being wiped numerous times.

Either way, I see NSP fighting AR in the borderlands even more now…that’s really going to be fun and/or boring. Either way, more pointless bragging will ensue causing more forum rage which leads to WvW rage on a continuous cycle. It’s all quite predictable at this point.

Perhaps you didn’t read when I was giving him props for coordinating the offenses he leads into Umber, DG, and Bravost as soon as he sees Danelion and QL flip to BP. That’s not a dig on Rob, because its a good and valid tactic that no one should really be whining about. He is smart for doing it. It makes the most strategic sense if you plan on trying to win.

Yes, AR has a history of coming in 2nd. That’s well known, but if you look at the scores you will quickly realize that we don’t stop with 2nd and let blowouts occur if we can help it. We try to fight for first and keep the scores as close as possible.

We aren’t working as a team.
Just using BP to do some good ole’ distracting.

Double teaming is when say, the BP Commander goes to the AR Commander and goes, “Hey man, we have the NSP keep but we need some help spawn camping them. Can you get your guys over here? Just make sure they don’t attack us.”

I mean, thats a double team. Because both Commanders are working like a single unit.
Not one playing off the other one.

So for instance, not a double team would be. BP spawn camping NSP in EB.. They have flipped everything.

The AR coming in from behind and capping all the easy flipped NSP towers while BP and NSP fight it out.

As soon as they took we led a group to take it from underneath. It failed because the both of you started pushing against Veloka, which we wanted to keep. We pulled back to defend our tower, not spawn camp you. I was only there initially to find [oath] members from BP and scorpion wire them off the walls so I could kill them. I could see how you think that we weren’t fighting BP as most of BP was hiding in the keep, but we killed them whenever we got the chance, and as soon as we saw it had flipped we pulled back away from your spawn to organize the attack on BP. To claim that the CO’s contacted each other and orchestrated it would be something you’s have to ask the Commander’s themselves, but there was no speak of teamwork the entire time I was there.

Well I was using that as an example. I mean, I wasn’t even there.
But the thing is. If BP are all up at NSP spawn.
Then there are next to no BP defending their third.

All Commanders would know that from a glance on the map. So you have to question it again. Not saying it was either a kitten choice or that the AR Commander was just bad but..

Hold a single tower or take three tier 3’s. I know what I could have chosen. Especially when its almost guaranteed that NSP would hit BP.
Thats what Anet were getting at when they made WvW I think.

As far as AR comin in 2nd we almost had 1st two other times in the last month the ONLY thing that stoped it was a dedicated BP force that stayed up late on Thursday nights hats off to them for getting enough dedicated to drink that much coffee I could only hang till 3am to try and combat the night fighting =) WERE all about trying to get the #1 slot trust me!

Playing for 2nd place came from matches against Devonas Rest and the like. Where AR would actually spawn camp their own bl and basically left EB for the entire week.
Can’t expect us to forget that. It was pretty funny.

But I hope this week silences the NSP is bad from you. I think we’ve earned that. Because if we’re bad and we can be ahead of you for over half the week?

NSP hasn’t won a match for well over a month.
Of course when I get on I come in to win, but I win my own little battles during my little timezone.
When the other server Commanders on at that time are reaaally reaaally mad at me. That is when I sit back in my chair and smile.
And when I come onto the forums and see them talking about me like, “loool we killed Bird Song”. Thats when you know you’ve become an event.

Especially when you weren’t even online. To make something up like that really does make me chuckle.

Its nearly as funny as the Alliance rubbish, do you want screenies me of face rolling BP keep twice? Good alliance deal. I saw the target, I saw that we could take it, so in good old WvW fashion we did just that.
And BP has been returning the favor later in the day. Thats the general idea.
I don’t know what you guys call an alliance, but I think that might be a bit off. Especially when on reset AR and BP both focused us for points.

On a more serious note, Kalkz, I would say that you did well, if it didn’t take 4 hours and 10 golems to take a keep from pugs that were outmanned by the siege set up in the keep.

It was one hour and 5 golems. Not nice to lie about it.

Well I’m not going to lie : that consoled me a bit for the loss of our upgraded keep and garrison…
There were only a few of us against the NSP zerg, (shame some people in our server were planning to do a golem rush in your BL apparently, quite the bad timing), and when I saw those golems…ugh

Dude they did golem rush!
They were on inner hills before we dragged our zerg out of EB and rushed over there.

Fought them in the lords room and all. Was close.

I think that they should just add in Gigantor Golems.

Where you build 5 Omega golems.

Get them to stack ontop of each other, and then hit like the 6 number.

And they morph into this huge kitten golem capable of being anti-personnel, with Omega golems as legs and arms. Which will just rip open walls and eat them etc etc. Has to have fire and hello kitties on the side too.
You can only build one when outmanned with buff.

I think it was intended to be this way. seems like they were trying to give the 3rd place team a good spot to treb SM. however it kind of back fired. the red team is usually the out numbered team so chances of getting SM are slim. also with the numbers advantage the team that has SM usually has no problems getting a treb killing zerg together and destroying the OL trebs.

Hello,
I am the leader of a small guild on Ferguson’s Crossing. We have been there since the 3 day head start and have all the upgrades but are just completely tired of being so outnumbered in WvW. It’s making people start to hate Guild Wars. We have been looking at this Tier and it looks like you guys have the most balance in WvW. I know that leaving means we will lose all of our influence and upgrades for the guild but like I said, we are just tired of being rolled over in WvW. All I ask is which server do you think would be a good fit for our guild in this Tier?

I’d choose NSP.
We usually come last by a tiny fraction of points due to numbers and such.
But I have to say we have the biggest laugh on this server.

This week though? NSP is just trying its hardest. We could always do with some help.

Yeah, it definitely happens at one point or another, although organized truces strike me as shady and will only bring out the unhealthy aspects of rivalries like this. I was in EB when this particular truce was happening and found it a bit unsavory that the CO called everyone to form up for an offensive on BP when NSP was not only in first place, but 100 points/tally higher in their share of the pie as well. I inquired as to why we were going to push into BP. (I was still one of the ones at Pangloss with another CO there. Perhaps she didnt get the memo to let it fall, because we held it for quite a while.) Anyways, my inquiry led to the CO leading the charge to whisper me trying to stifle dissent, stating that they had a truce with NSP to go after BP. It was about this time that NSP had rooted us out from Pangloss (not without a fight), and were marching on umber. I thought I’d let it play out, since I found it irrational that we would join up with the 1st placed and current primetime force team (NSP) to pick on 2nd place (BP), but decided to keep my mouth shut on map chat to avoid making waves. I confirmed with the CO that it was NSP that we were supposedly making this alliance with, as it seemed more likely that bargaining with BP would give us more benefit overall. He confirmed NSP was to be our ally, right about the time that the same NSP finished building their seige to take our Bravost tower. It seemed like we had been betrayed, and while I cant say that I was surprised (it was the logical thing to do.), I can say that I was a bit turned off by a formal alliance when those forming the alliance weren’t the 2 servers that were trailing, or at least trailing in the points/tally.

I decided I’d rather log off than see what happened afterwards, but seeing it on the forum I decided I’d lend my experience to the understanding of what happened, just for the sake of transparency.

It seems as though we are fighting a renewed NSP, and a refined BP. Both servers are very organized in EB and are constantly watching the roads. It puts AR’s EB crew to shame. I hope we can make up our points in the BL’s or at least change the mood of our EB. Recently its been trolling, bickering, and people wanting to attack SM or the grub more than they want to hold towers or supply camps.

Anyways, have fun out there!

Here is a breakdown from what I see as evidence has shown.
NSP holds lead at reset and halfway through weekend. It eventually falls to either AR or BP and through the week end up in last place.

So the battle then in my eyes is between BP and AR.
Now, BP cruise all through the week and then kill themselves to grab the win near the end when everyone else is basically gone.

BP could avoid this by striking a deal with NSP, that together they could keep and hold AR in last place so BP have a pleasant week and NSP slots nicely into second for once.

AR could also take this week for a win though too, by striking the exact same deal with NSP. Although currently since they are in last place, it would have less appeal.
That and from my own personal experience, certain AR Commanders when approached can be incredibly rude while BP have been pleasant if not amazingly friendly.

So you see, NSP has found itself in a sort of position of power even though in last place overall. But a very close last place.
We’ve lost so many times that we couldn’t really care who actually wins, the likelihood of it being us is slim. But can we take 2nd place? Possibly.

If this was yesterday Rashagal then it may have been my fault, I was on very late. Commanders on EB will turn off their tag or follow me when I’m on sometimes. Whatever Commander was on before who maybe had some form of deal? Goes out the window especially with someone like me.

Helping Anvil Rock would make more work for us than if we were to just skirt around BP. I mean, its not a truce or alliance. Thats just good business. We see BP taking Quintin? LOL Durios will have very few defenders or a split force, can’t deny a man an easy take.
They get what they want, and by not causing trouble with trouble? We keep ourselves out of a three-way. Because if we attacked BP instead of AR? BP would pull out and defend against us, then AR has a chance of just attacking us anyway (which always seems to happen) and we’d find ourselves in a no win scenario. One that we would have created for ourselves.

Only thing I’d have conflict over is SM.
Boy do I love the big shiny castles.
So perdy.

But yeh, like vespin said. Thats how I view things, and I view it because I think thats the most intelligent way of looking at it all. But other Commanders might not see that, and BP certainly want to take our bl from us.

Guys, the person in this post is me. I’ve made no effort to hide the fact that Ive been working with a couple commanders from BP for the last few days. If you ask anyone (Minavera, for example) I made no attempt to hide it. I personally prefer BP over AR and that’s why I was working with them. That and I found a couple truly nice, skilled, and honest commanders to work with. I’m not a spy, though. I’m still NSP. Our primary exchange of information was always on the movements of Anvil Rock as well as coordinated strikes also on Anvil Rock. Many times I did ask our people not to engage BP but that was also because it was in the best interest of NSP. I figured my job as a commander was to score as many points for my team as possible in the best way I knew how. That’s what I did.

Well as long as you realize, and it seems like you admit it here, that it takes two servers to beat our one, then it is all good.

Well you know someone was going to say it so I just rushed out front with it!

I suppose I could try to deny that, but it would be going against the evidence that the last 3 weeks of matches provide. There was a point where you were holding both of us back yesterday at the same time and I found that to be quite impressive.

Hey guys, some of you might remember I take something called “Commander Training” or CT on the NSP server.
A Commanders primary objective is to achieve the highest point gain on the map, which is short game play. But also to line up for the long term haul. I teach all of my students this, as I have become well seasoned on all aspects.

There are multiple ways in which to achieve this, (I will not go into too much depth as I don’t plan on giving any enemy commanders an insight into our tactics or pointers) One of those ways is by having a mutual goal.
Due to the intentional make up of WvWvW one server either has to abstain from a fight or join in on a ‘double team’. Thus in most cases obliterating the DT’d server.

WvW is essentially virtual warfare.
And humans have been perfecting the art of war for thousands of years, we’ve gotten pretty good at it.
You can see where I am going with this.

If two entities are, lets say, ‘displeased’ with another due to lack of respect or honour etc (not saying that is why) then they may unite together and force the aggressive entity to its knees, while when split, they may have been defeated.
This is a mutual goal. And one that can be translated to WvW. Used by people who have a higher affinity and appreciation for the long haul.

This is by no means an alliance forged in stone and an entire server can most certainly not be accounted for by their leaders actions (as you all should know about rogue Commanders form PvE). But with enough server wide acceptance it may become just that, who knows, that is where the dice can be rolled.
I cannot speak for everyone in North America, but these methods have been rampant in Europe since the game start. Its truly beautiful and can cause big zerg servers to actually have to think, rather than just produce the numbers.

It adds an extra dynamic to the game and actually keeps in time with Guild wars and its lore.
Guilds who support one server as an ally over another will bond and their Commanders + soliders will work united in their effort. While others will either abstain or be forced to fight against the opposing force. All of this being portrayed on the WvW tapestry like a fine painting.

Evolution my friends.
Lets add another dynamic to the stalemate.
Its an advancement and one that has been used by a secluded few for months. Maybe it should move from just a few individuals and become public. Because complaining about spies is one thing, and something that we cannot stop. But a game of politics? The pen can easily be mightier than the sword. – [Insert another famous quote here] -.

Any form of extra depth in this game is fantastic, its so shallow.
And well.. ‘skeleton’
WvW is still just a basic shell.

But then again, every time someone suggests these much needed updates? I use the good old example of gravel on catapults.

5months in, still there, still pointless.
The Commander title, single most expensive vendor item in the game, no user interface.

No wonder people don’t like commanding there any more! Regardless, I had fun ruining those golems you kept chucking at us. I cant remember who brought a branspanking new Omega with some little alpha buddies in only for us to break it down before it even got damage on the gate (think it was bp, but NSP chucked a fair few golems at us too!)

Borlis Pass cracks me up.. Trying a new build on one of my characters, and every fight is either 2v1, 3v1, or 10+v1. They laugh, or goad as if they’ve done something. That’s one thing I respect from NSP is that they always challenge people to 1v1s, and we always show each other respect. Borlis Pass never runs solo, and they never show respect.

Seriously guys, it is a game. Enjoy it without trying to ruin everyone elses fun.

i play in a 4-5 man guild on BP. Most nites we have 2-3 on and alot of time i go out solo. If you are solo expect to have 1vs2 1 vs 3 fights. AR and Shiver have never ever let me duel when it was 1 vs more than 1. So get of your high horse and either l2play or get friends. People play the same way no matter what server you come from.

We crossed words, he ignored and continued. So we broke off attack from SM, and BP + NSP both rushed him (since we didn’t have enough people) .

It was so lol dude after he was so rude.
I can laugh at another Commander when they do something as stupid as that. And it wasn’t a 1vs zerg. It was a Zerg vs Zerg. That pic was taken after we rolled AR zerg, took all your towers + keep and decided to spawn camp and let BP take what they liked.

The amount of incorrect and false claims here is staggering keep spewing your crap as you lost all of NSP border minus bay and then everything in EB minus your garrison , the photo of the wipe you posted was only about 10 of us at that point all pug holding back NSP and BP at that hole. Took awhile for me to get some people together but hey after we did we added SM just because we could …. I like how you didn’t add that you kept spamming my group to join my party and you started to spam me with tells until I had to put you on ignore. Enjoy 3rd place again and cya at reset : )
