This is a bug that’s been happening for a while now, but I only just now am reporting it. On my ranger, I believe I had a weapon that had magic find on it. Shortly after this stat was changed to a global stat with magic find items, I had respec’d my weapon. However, I am still getting the notice popping up that I need to change my weapon stats, long after I have either done so, equipped a different weapon, or sold the one I was using at the time. I had sort of put this character on temporary hiatus while I worked on leveling other characters, and explored the living story through them, but with the advent of Chapter 2 of the living story, I have gone back to the character, and it makes the conversations hard to read as the text will occasionally overlap character dialogue. Help?
Who’s to say that one day, you won’t be able to craft Ascended jewelry one day? I can easily see new recipes popping up on, say, Sunset Isle or some other location like that. Maybe it’ll require 500 skill level for jewelry.
And, even barring all that, not every player is going to demand ascended accessories for all their slots. There will be a small minority of players, who merely play PvE, never venture into the Fractals, and are perfectly happy with rare or exotic accessories instead of the pink level.
And now that I’m thinking about it, I think it’d be neat if, say, the jeweler could craft inscriptions which aren’t necessarily as good as those found, but are certainly worth spending time on.
I think it’s just a touch of realism injected into the game. I mean, most people focus on only one crafting skill at a time; focusing on two is hard, but not impossible. But if a character were able to craft all 8 skills all at once, many people would only create one character and leave it at that. It might be a very indirect way of forcing crafters to take more than one character so that one guy doesn’t do all the work.
This might not all make sense, the way I’m putting it out, but I understand why they didn’t do it. I also don’t agree with the idea that just because my thief has huntsman at level 100, my level 2 warrior who just started could craft guns at a 100 skill level.
I just started playing as a sylvari, since I wanted to have one character of each playable race, and I found something kind of interesting. I go through the dream, kill the “plant dragon” and wake up. Next thing I know, I’m naked and weaponless. Now, this is not the bug: I had viewed enough past sylvari videos to know that talking to one NPC, I’d be decked out in clothing and have my weapon again.
What actually happened is that I put on the shield reward from the tutorial (he’s a guardian, not really relevent to bug) and noticed that now that the shield is on his back, what would happen if I tried to use my 1-3 skills. I pressed 1, and my mace suddenly appeared in my hand.
I am fully aware that being naked is actually a cheat that is imposed, and they aren’t really invisible, but I could probably have gotten all my armor back by merely unequipping and equipping everything. Is this worth even bringing up? Am I just being pedantic?
Lady Beetleton. Maybe then Caudecus wouldn’t be such a royal pain.
…
Still, I feel sorry for Demmi.
