It really cant though. Why is that most players sit around in open world all the time? Because dungeons and fractals are too hard for them or they dont enjoy instanced group content. It makes no sense to put excessive amounts of lore in an area where the players who like challenging instanced content is dont care about it. And the players that want that lore would barely ever experience it. They would visit fractals once to get their lore fix and then never visit again. You cannot infect every aspect of the game with the wants of casual players. It doesnt work. You shouldnt lock away lore in an area of the game that many players who enjoy lore will not visit.
You can put lore into fractals, I dont mind that. But if it ruins replayability and brings down the challenge then im not going to be happy.

This are no elitist intentions and he is right. Fractals is about the Chalenge. Thats why you have progress in fractals with lvls or agony res.
Everyone is happy about new content. But not everything released is content just because it is released. Fractal runner will not play a fractal over and over again for the story. In fractals people see the story first and second time and after this they dont care anymore and go back to livingstory zergmode or are Fractalsplayers which care bout competive gameplay like how can do the fractal in best way, how far can go, what class needed, builds, progress in gear/lvl ….. and so on.
Just add some new story fractals will bring nothing more than some people write about in forum for a week and after this noone care anymore.

And before i forget lore + Story is ok in Fractals when presented in the right way like this fractal with this Giant (/bow archievement) but its more than annoying when have to watch some NPC talk same crap over and over again.

Even when i like this LS (Design, Story) it annoys me how Arenanet focus on this WORLD events like it is the BEST GW2 has to offer.
Really i dont wanna play with complete Map all day and just be 1/150 and it doessnt matter when i go afk or do my best performance – im just 1

i would love to see more progression
maby on fraktal lvl 50+ drop essences to make utilitie slot on back items and earring so can have more than 1 utilitie slot in gear
- (combine this new essences with … Mist Essences + Pristine Fraktal Relics so they have some use for higher people and force people to go lower fractals)
more infusions for this utiltie slots like:
(cant use any infusion more than 1x in gear)
+15% runspeed
+15% WXP
-10% condi duration
-20% stunduration
+20% might duration
+25% buff food duration
+10% revive allies faster
…….. open for alot more ideas
than i would like to see some special title (or other things) for people going for lvl 60,70, 80, 90, 100 to show off the progress

I play a thief and the problem that I see from most abilities being “OP” stems from the way the class is designed with initiative. The class is designed to spam one ability several times. We (thieves) generally only have one good damage dealing weapon ability and with no cool downs on our weapon skills it leads to spamming.
I can see two ways to fix the spamming problem. The first involving adding more abilities to each weapon set that deal damage. I understand that there are great utility weapon skills to be used, but when we want to deal damage it’s typically one ability being used and spammed because that’s we’ve got to use. The second idea is a little more involved and requires a lot of class restructuring. Get rid of initiative… make the class operate on cool downs like all the other classes. The only problem I see in idea #2 is that in doing so you’d have to also implement idea #1….

make thief skills combo eachother
remove stun from #3 and make #2 followed by #3 stun the target
remove boonremove from #2 and make #3 followed by #2 remove 2 boons
something like this would give thief some depth when enough combos and would remove the spamplay
edit: this skillcombo system would be cool for warrior and ranger too – remove utilitie from normal skills and add it to combos

problem with this is the thief has to much initiative
the qustion with this skill is: regeneration is to fast or pw is to cheap
i would make pw cost more initiative – this skill has to be something you use careful and not just spam when rdy
edit: in my opinion sword #2 need higher initiative cost too – it need more risk reward
2 and 3 (with pistol offhand) has to much utilitie on it – on other classes this would be eliteskills^^

There is a real world stock market out there for you to play.
I rather just play it as an adventure game.
But if you want to maximize the gold available in an MMO, at least respect the TP.
That’s the thing I hate, TP is the most rewarding aspect of this game.
That’s why people call diablo 3 (auction house tychoon), and people makes name such as wall street online 2 for GW2.
Like I said before, thousands of mmorpg out there, why is it only a problem in diablo 3 and gw2. It’s not like you can’t flip in other mmorpg but people dont’ compalin about flipping there.
cause GW2 has a whiny playerbase – you can see this in all forums here – just check dungeon, balance , wvw, pvp , livingstory …..

honestly though, i think the fact that teamq gives better rewards is justified, you still need to put a team and coordinate… what needs to happen is that you shouldn’t be able to do teamq w/o having full team + allow players to duo queue in soloq like you can do it in league

arenanet need to make a unrankedQ for all this 1-5 man teams who wanna play with friends (something liek this is never balanced so 2+3 man teams vs 5man team is ok when unranked)

When you go for Solo-queue, you fight other from the solo-queue.As for why they get the double reward that is most likely due to the fact that it is more organized and thus most likely more challenging.
Mainly because soloq takes less time than arranging a decent team for teamq, you can just keep joining forever..no need to setup or to find ppl, and yeah because it’s easier..obviously…(Skyhammer, engis, wars, cheesewatch…that sort of stuff we all know..)

No, the higher rewards are not for making a team is harder. The higher rewards are cause teamQ sux and is not fun to play and teamQ would die when not pay the randoms to be canonfodder for the premades.
When remember they made soloQ cause it is not fair to play as a solo player vs Premade – this was the biggest problem at this time in forum and everyone was happy when they finaly said the make a soloQ.
And it showed how many people care for teamQ – teams had to wait ages to can play and in NA after MMR reset they could not even fill the top 1000
How i said, the only reason why teamQ get double rewards is cause they would have no players – and this is the wrong way
they should make teamQ fair and fun than maby players wanna play it

for this, to see the “imbalance” becomes “difficulty”, they would have to change leaderbaords , ranks, win/loses etc from accountwide to “per Profesion”
than for normal player who care about progress (and this are the most MMORPG players) the imbalance would not be the biggest problem cause everyone have the same on his way to be the top overlord elementalist, Mesmer …. whatever

Not a bonus for me. You get 40 of them per match, it fills up your inventory and fills it up even more if you open them. I seriously cba to open them, I’m just gonna destroy all of them when my inventory is getting too full.

- Allow each Tier to change Tokens for the next higher Tokens like 5:1 – IMPORTANT Point for the next Question
How would you encourage players of all skill levels to participate?
- when people on low skill lvl still can work on higher rewards but with much more time than they will participate – when not than they will ignore pvp cause they know they dont have a chance to get this rewards
- make a weekly Meta Archievement with a number of games played/won and reward should be some tokens + other stuff like gold, karma, or whatever people want
There are several solutions that I can think of.
-Add in a faster afk timer that will log the afk people out or boot them to the zone they zoned in from. (Needs to be 5 min or so for the people that are just doing a fast bathroom or other break)
-Add in a personal counter so that you have to participate in so many events or rescues to get citizen rewards. Example: 1 event or 1 rescue for the first bag, 2 total events &/or 2 rescues for the 2nd bag & so on.
Those two would be the easiest to implement and fair to both style of players whether you are farming bags or helping with the rescue while those that come in and go afk the entire event will get nothing.
Though my favorite is the devs watching the afkers & getting rid of them…a lot more satisfying for those that are putting in the effort to complete the event. On that note, I am sure the devs would not just be tossing bans for people that afk for 5 minutes but for much longer. Would boot them from the event the first time & if found afking again, then ban.
wanna say a staff guardian spamming 1 in an event do more than someone being afk?

anyway – this event is boring and after i did it 2 or 3x i started watching “Lost” again and im in Season 3 now throwing grenades brain afk on second screen on mobs near old mystic forge

What bothers me the most is that if you have a guardian or warrior playing decap bunkers, no one bats an eye. But if an engi does it the whole world just flips out.
Also, this idea that “a build that is too effective with a low learning curve is broken” is bogus too. I guess if a brand new car is too easy to drive, we should add some extra wheels and buttons to make it harder to drive. This is a great way to improve accessibility.

they should make a NPC where can change 1:1 living story curencys for others from living storys before
or make 1 universal currency (like living story coin or linvig story token ….) and use it in all this

and with this they could make a living story npc working like blacklion ticket npc and sell older recipes from past storys more expensive than they was before – so had people a chance to buy older recipes or items when they missed the living story (but have to work more than for it like 5x the price it was at release)

It’s a cute idea, but there are glaring issues in pvp that need addressing before we can start to look at throwaway maps to match living story events.
This would serve no purpose and take away valuable resources from the stuff that actually needs to be looked at.
ok what this would bring arenanet?
- PVE people maby goes PVP
- PVP people maby buy gems same as PVE People for this living story things when can be part in this living story
- a simple method to bring living story rewards in spvp
- more maps for custom arenas – maby players find something cool with this

cook 500 will be the cheapest to level – there are much more lvl 400 recipes to discover again and most are very cheap or just need karma
Until now the big material sinks have not been leveling but crafting the timegated ascended mats.
ye – and this will not be the lvl 400 mats like in all other proffesions too its t2-5

yes i like the vertical progression and im happy anet go atleast with babysteps this way
im an oldschool gamer and MY games years ago had no lvl cap or things like this and im really annoyed by this facebook generation which want everything for free in games so gamecompanys dont make good games anymore and castrated the gengre MMORPG over the last years
