I believe that Rangers needs Stealth & Anti-Stealth.
Both because we’re like HUNTERS.

Okay, Pet AI will be fixed. That’s good, we waiting. BUT!:
- What about to base ~100% DMG at ranger, and the plus that pet should give upscales when user traits up the Beast Master, so the syngery balance will turn like ~70% DMG at Ranger, ~40% at Beast? I mean, when pet line gets traited, and pets going to be more powerful because of it, the user loses its own damage %. This is how the traits should effect the player. Marksmanship/Skirmishing boosts US, Beast Master boosts Pets instead of us.
And then: When the team discussing about possible fixes, do not let them forget how greatly we lack conditions/buffs on weapons that designed for Hunting people down.
+ Burst damage is really low as you know by now.
I would like to ask it Straight!
How mutch chance it has to remove CDs from weapon skills??
Why are an agile class like Ranger gets locked down at such an outdated design??

2/10 maybe. I did not enjoy it. I didn’t missed anything, but it did not felt like an adventure even. This was still very far from what they should call “Living Story”.
Next season, I:
- want to make decisions
- want to get new items without BS RNG & overpriced items
- want to meet new undiscovered places

This is a hard topic…
Meanwhile other MMOs offer a more-or-less well designed story path for the Class/Character, GW2 has a line where you can chose how would you kill 10 rats and which one will you skip this time. None of them are the best.
When speaking about RPG, we speaking about real decisions to make, and those effect your whole legend. Skyrim & Fallout offers situations that you can turn positive or negative. It’s up to you. Mass Effect has only illusions, but you can really save lifes.
Sadly, I did not met with any game that had trueRPG. Where there is a well connected like-o-meter towards factions, and any behavior you do has effect on your entire life.
Like if you can’t enter the Grove now because people know you by being agressive…
… But you would get in by proving your kindness somehow.
In games, its only makeable if it has a well designed system with huge variety of tasks.

+1 I’m up for this! During the whole LS I had nothing that I like.
Even the new helm isn’t one I will use on my Ranger… but not even on my Warrior.
So a pack of new skins would be nice. Even free, even if its a discounted GemStore Style update, but something that designed for D&D fans. Something that isn’t a 120W lightbulb. Something that isn’t an overeffected thing, but a simple nice armor.

First of all, please do not find my words here offensive towards the past LS
This topic only aims to represent a way of making a long-live Living Story that entertains users until the next one cames out. Here we have a saying ~“It’s easy to be smart after.”,
but it is nothing like that. As said above, now Devs & You can both see/imagine how should been all of this happen.
This is how it was:
- Assault update came out, you found yourself out of LA. Every hour you was able to get in and do the timed events, but here was way mutch, you gone back to “help” multiple times. Achievements were given to bother something with.
- The Refugee Camp is such a happy, festival-like place…
- Battle update came out, now you can enter to do some tasks and go through the chain to defeat Scarlet. Achievements were given to bother something with.
- We’re at 4th Hotfix, things are still bugged.
The [iR] Design:
- Assault update: If you log in first time outside, you’ll be informed. If you log in inside, a short self-instance or cinematics of escaping happens.
- Day 1-2: Rally up, Get informed, gather the captured SOS letters from groups of Scarlet’s forces around the city, make the plan for rest of time.
- Day 3-4: Clean the entraces with the help of Vigil, Escort anyone who possible. They’ll show the Lionguard what they know about trapped civilians.
- Day 5-6: Escort the first group, families with children trapped in the sewers.
- Day 7-8: Escort the merchants trapped in the pirate cave.
- Day 9-10: Escort the remaining Lionguards captured by Scarlet’s.
- Day 11-12: Now everyone should be out & safe, so gather things needed for the Refugee camp & the battle. The Groove’s Sylvaries shares a new medicine to heal up injured ones more quickly. Norns will hunt & bake more then share it.
- Battle update: The Pact arrives!
- Day 1-2: The take-back battle will be planned. Get informed to help the pact. Whisperers found something… Secure the entraces.
- Day 3-4: Help the orders to have a look on LA, so they can design their attack plans.
- Day 5-6: The Knights appear. Priory knows how to defeat them. (learned on marionette) But they’ll be hooked up to be repaired.
- Day 7-11: The Iron Legion built up & adjusted their artilery. Defeated knights can no longer be repaired in time, opportunity to defeat Scarlet!
- Day 12: Celebrate the victory! Pay respect to the fallen.

The Refugee Camp is muddy, crafted junk, it seems to be huge (but not all accessable by players), the weather is always raining, local troubles happen to solve (AP)
As a sidenote: LA & Overflows designed for 50 players, so it will not be AFK’d, and lagg/player mass won’t be a trouble for low-mid PC users.
Every Escort event brings some additional trouble to deal with – Achievements!
~2 Days schedule for eatch seems to be balanced for casual players too. If Achievements are there, users can do it alone/party instanced once the time is past.
~2m Ingame cinematics at eatch move. New NPC conversations. Let us feal this is Real and happening!
P.s.: I have no solution for this LS “lore”, I don’t get it neither…

We can speak about overhaul when this mutch thing needs to be changed…
As anyone can see a lot of times in the past 40 pages and the upcommings,
we mostly agree with the non-hunter supporting conditions we can apply,
and our traits which are half+ rubbish.

Still the best would be to just adjust realistic designs, like Skyrim and many others do.
Same with the armors… Everything wants to look fancy. Community Hubs are full of 120W lightbulb looking users… They freak me out.

I do highly agree with the point of release cool armors to be Craftable…
There are no such use for craft in the endgame – you make some ascended maybe, and thats all. Running dungeons are way cheaper than crafting a set, which isn’t looking cool anyway. Those should be skins to keep crafting profitable.

GW1:
- You had to make ~2 hours of Teamwork multiple times to get one.
- They had their unique look.
- They are respected.
GW2:
- Farm or Buy keys to play RNG lottery for needed scraps that not likely to drop (6 so far from ~65 chest, count the worth in $/€ ratio)
- They’ve been bit upgraded, depends on your taste if you like the new “mild look” or not, the effect are not that good: They’re deep silver, not black, the purple shine almost not noticeable at all. Above it, what the hell are those warps around some?! Who the hell decided to ruin an original design with those?!
- Respect a lottery item? No way.
From a GD perspective, I would say its kind of an another new failure they made.
When a developer team decides to export a skinpack from an older version of the game,
they have two good option:
- Copy-paste it as original, fix bugs. New weapons needs the same design.
- Offer Improved model version for ALL, but keep the original design.
Guess what? They’ve made the third option!
3. Copy out, ruin the model for more candy look, ruin the texture for more candy look, ruin the effect for more candy look, then put up on lottery.

@ Range limit: It does not matter when most of enemies still reaching you, as they should. It will not brake anything IMO, so do not worry about it.
Let’s give you an example: You’re shooting the target with LB’s new range of 1500:
- If its a mage with ~900, it will move ~600 towards you to get in range – by using a single skill.
- If its a melee foe, then it will or would charge at you anyway, so that range difference will be disappear shortly.
- At 1v1 fights IF you can keep up the 1500 range, then you deserve it. If not, then it doesn’t matter, but yet you still can.
- At 1vX, some will get close anyway…
- LB’s range update would solve the WvW hit-detection bugs I hope.

Revealed should be pet ability and shout.
Otherwise, it may would be nice feature to “steal” the stealth. Its like rolling the dice on thieves – Funny when they lose stealth and you get it. Its like “You wanted to stalk up on me my dear? Hah!”
BUT Weapon skills should focus on fastcontrol hunting abilities. Ranger isn’t for managing tricks unless it wields a Staff.

I don’t want powerful AOEs, I want burst damages. Real pressure on those who’re tanky but still doing sama damages as we do with dicey berserker builds…
But it is still important to make some weapon AOE, since LOOT.

I had a focus on 3 things when made my main:
Effective use of GreatSword, a good Bow or Pistols, and agile way of fighting.
By the time its clear that I’ve should been made a Warrior.
A Warrior? Yes… You may noticed, but I’ll tell you:
ARCHERS IN THE GAME ARE ALL WARRIORS OMG
So ArenaNet knew by scratch that Ranger’s won’t be the unparalled archers.
Can’t belive it? Me neither, but just look around…
So then, GS isn’t bad, LongBow is useable for the skilled, and the animations aren’t bad, just feel bit powerless. More hack’n’slash would be nice.
Above that, amongst many other guy here, I don’t like the look of these medium armors, because they look Light, and high amount of the Heavy ones are the real Mediums.
CDI is still up, we’ll see where it leads…

- Better (&moddable?) graphics that relies on GPU – CPU opt. for i5
- Buildable Guild Hall with many many visible upgrades
- WvW Borders change to Icy/Forest/Desert theme & real villages/world construction
- Capes of many shape… selfcustomizeable but with guild designed base.
- Royal’s designs gets in game overall (They said LOL!)

I think it would make sense for the CDs to either disappear (similar to how thieves use initiative instead of CDs) or for the skills that have CDs have their damage increased so as to NOT be a DPS loss when using them.
Like I said in one of my early suggestions, Ranger weapon skills lack direction and feel confused at best.
Well that is what my [iR] design is half about, changing the CDs to Initiative like Stamina/Endurance, which can be used for dodges too. My fingers are crossed…

Oh the Stealth… Since it has no reveal-brake rules, its kind of a godmode when you know how to use it. Even in PVE when mobs still seeing you sometimes…
For us, “Reveal!” shouts/bonuses would be nice to help out the groups.
If we would be able to use pet to reveal and lock stealthing on foes, that would be a nice support – and when Dungeons are designed to have stealth using enemies, we would be welcome even there.

Give is the ability to control 2 or 3 pets at the same time.
We can’t even control ONE well, but you want 2 or 3 ?!!
Even ONE pet would be nice in case if its very useable and highly & fast controlable.

Permastow is ok, but not for gaining +DMG. This option should offer something else.
Maybe a little speedbuff or some +endurance regen, that wouldn’t make many of us to ignore pets, even if they’re fixed in that patch.
Anyway I’m up with remodelling, reanimating & retexturing the pets. Most of them also look dumb…
Okay, it’s not a realistic skyrim modfest, but still… real animals shouldn’t look as candy as overall GW2 does.
For the Traits: All I know is that they need to support their meaning. Its my view:
- Marksmanship: Precision & Condition Damage
- Skirmishing: Power & Critical Damage (in hope Ferocity won’t kitten us up)
- Wilderness Survival: Thoughness & Healing Power
- Nature Magic: Vitality & Boon Duration
- Beast Mastery: Pet Attrib & Condition Duration
This is how it makes sense for me. Let me explain:
- Marksmanship focuses ranged weapons, needs prec & CC buffs.
- Skirmishing focuses melee, but also supports else. Its martial art.
- Wilderness Survival for staying alive.
- Nature Magic is our synergy with the wilds.
- Beast Mastery explains pet buff & their controlled effects to buff.
Many of you may disagree with me here but at least it seems straight for me, we would be able to specialise & balance on these trees.

Yes, like I said about the sustained vs burst, it’s not necessarily fully functional in the game. This is one of those things that we would have to balance with bringing other classes down a bit as far as damage output. Burst damage needs to have risk involved, and we know that right now many classes don’t have that associated risk.
Finally, its a real good news this time!
Let me tell you how it works IMO;
We LOVE to slay horde of targets massively (PvE), but when we’re bursting, our “last stand” at surviving is to rely on our gamer skills. Manouvering, dodges/evades, smart use of terrain such as using heigh advantage or objects for shelter.
So whoever decides to risk high damage output, needs to control the character as good as possible. This is a real risk to play it. Above this, timers on skills are designs from the last century… I believe we should move on now.

It has a reason why millions playing games of “Kill or Die” style, such as COD & else.
Ofc I don’t want to compare GW2 to COD, but the basics of risky skirmishing is the same. Move smart, use map smart, shoot first & precisely as well as possible. If you fail it, you have high chances to die… because you don’t really have survivality things to use to buff your lack of skill or just to compensate something. This is a popular kind of playerbase style. Every game based highly on combat needs this in first step – if there is no special rule. Even SuperMario is a serial killer ^^

The Ranger isn’t expected to do burst damage. By sustained, we mean that the Ranger should excel at surviving (resilient) through burst while still doing enough damage over time to take the opponent down.
Thats so “great” news… who has time to suffer 5+ minutes to take down an undead chicken? Without burst damages, that every class can do, we would be worthless hunters as long as we don’t have immobilise & knockdowns to keep our targets interrupted & under damage.
Seriously Allie, if some of us (a Lot) wants to burst, then let us to do so – in sacrifice of survivality or something. Without burst, just try to hunt down a thief who vanishes in stealth (which designed badly), or an invulnerable elementalist who heals up meanwhile hitting 8K criticals, or a guardian who has widescreen pushing buffline but still doing nice damages, or a necromancer who puts conditions on you that you have no tools to clean off, or an engineer who spamms bombs in your face, or a mesmer who spawns a horde of clones that eatch does ~2k dmgs meanwhile we try to retarget…
You know… those who load off their damage doesn’t need to care as mutch on surviving as those who needs to sustain… its like:
Warrior/Others: BANG you’re dead, who’s next?

Go as far as needed. I’ve shared my unique redesign, that would fulfill our Role.
Its up to the team if they want just adjusting & remixing meanwhile working on AI,
or to come up with a “completely new” mech such as mine. I don’t know how brave this company really is, we keep hope, I design for “Next-Generation”.

I’m with you guys. Fixing is okay, but the modellers SHOULD LEARN HOW TO SHAPE these things. Why the hell they make everything so over or undersized? Would it be so hard to work in a blueprint system to prevent clipping issues? NO

GW1 had nice soundtracks, but became boring after a while.
GW2 OSTs are terrible imo, except some, and I’m replacing it since month 3rd.
No characteristics, no depth, its all feels like an amateur work for Hello Kitty’s Adventures in Candyland vol.II
And the battle musics… seriously demoralising for me.
When the Lore lacks epicness, even the OSTs not helping…
