That isn’t true. I’m not sure but my tests resulted in a lot of rng for condis.
Say I apply poison and vuln. 1 condi removal randomly removed the 1 condi.
BUT if I had 11 stacks of bleed. 1 removal always removed the bleed.
My guess is that there is a priority to condis that tells removal order. When priority is the same, they are removed via rng. As more stacks are added, priority goes up.
Diamond skin is supposed to be good vs ranger? Ever consider we have a pet that does direct dmg? After spirit nerf people will play power or bm so don’t have any worried about those immunity above x traits.
This is how it was in gw1 and I’m very confident those “good ol days” should become gw2 pvp.
Plus in sc2 and lol people can reroll with no penalty so from an esport perspective, anet had it right.

I’d rather not have that as Dagger functions more as a defensive condi offhand and not a power one. For my set (a/t s/d) both sword 3 and dagger 4 are needed to maintain poison uptime to beat certain (warrior) classes.
No, minion masters are strong enough and necro death shroud hp/s added to that hp/s puts your regen on top of warriors.

Condi dmg is 1 stat. You can spec heal and toughness while doing max condi dmg.
Direct damage is 3 stat. Loss of any one of them causes exponentially less damage.

My lvl 8 eu alt can’t do solo queue then. But I’m r25 solo queue NA. Better suggestion is to start people at a lower mmr. Or start them with mmr based on pvp rank.
Say 0-10 starts with 1000 mmr
11-20 starts with 1500 mmr
21-30 starts with 2000 mmr.
This way players new to tpvp from spvp will get a starting mmr that is compared to the experience they gained from hotjoin.

The reason this isn’t in is because of technical reasons on anet’s part. The tpvp matches are the same as hotjoin in that there is a 20 person cap. They allow shoutcasters in because the small number can fit into the server. If anet decided to change this I’d imagine the effort would take away from other content that players want more.

I don’t think the issue is it having no counterplay, it’s just imbalanced.
True I play spirit ranger, but that should make me well versed in the limits and counters of my tpvp build. I find that the teams that counterplay the spirit are more often the ones that I need spirit res the most for.
I also run spirits because it is effective, not because it is fun. Post patch I’m strongly considering a bm build. Then people will be back to complaining about quickness stomps and how “at least we could kill the spirits.” I still believe this is a failure of people to develop a 1v1 backpoint build to beat ranger. My build is meant for 1v1. Their build is meant for midfights. They should lose to me every time assuming equal skill.
Classes can make builds to beat spirit ranger. Try minion necro, terror necro, stunlock warrior, phantasm mesmer, staff ele (coinflip though), or some other build. Suddenly you beat spirit ranger and are inferior at midfights. Then realize that this is what a ranger feels like, except there is no viable build to play midfight without killing 1v1 potential.
This multi role junk is what bothers me. “I want my engie to bunk home point, win all 1v1, win midfight, kill a bunker on point, and have great movement.” If this happens, everyone plays engie. (See ele, see warrior). Those classes that “pick 1” or “pick 2” are the best design wise in the game.
The engie who stands on legde on foefire and rains 1500 nades should lose 1v1 to me. If he won this means a class then has #1 1v1 and midfight dps. This isn’t a meta I want, and presumably nobody else does either.

MM is a top contender for 1v1. (Minion Master). However MM DOES have a high skill cap (and high skill floor, so they’re easy to be at least decent with even if you’re not too good.) If you get really good at avoiding CC to make up for your lack of CC breakers, and get really good at locking down enemies so your minions can deal damage, and you actually attack and don’t expect them to win it for you, MM can be pretty potent 1v1 and 2v2. Anything higher than that, AOE starts to take its toll though.
This is the person who ran petting zoo last 2v2 tourney with a spirit ranger. I think even he will agree the 8x +pets and two human players gave AI and particle effect advantage on its own. It was a terrible and confusing match to watch.
And nobody thought to kill the minions with aoe? I don’t think a spirit ranger and necro would be hard to build wars against.
Tried 5 warriors in team queue. It didn’t work out very well.
1 ranger is good. More than 1 and your comp begins to suffer.
Explain to me how this will increase the game’s skill cap while reducing the viability of low skill strategies.
