If I recall correctly, this achievement is tied to the Taidha Covington event chain, in Bloodtide Coast. Check here for the meta-event.
From what I can remember, 5 might be enough but it won’t be easy. One of the champions of the event is tough. Now that the API is out, you should be able to check on gw2stuff.com to see when the event will be up on your server.
I never packed any magic find and have found 6 or 7 so far (I am around level 25 in fractals). So I would say it is not necessary.
Keep in mind also that if you ever find higher fractal materials (globs from 10 or shards from 20), you’ll be able to break them into vials through the mystic forge. Recipe is over here
Well I have noticed that sentinel’s armor recipes was able to drop only during the last event before Cove event, so now peaple manipulate These armor prives in black lion market couse only some peaple can make it, now 1 peace goes for 8g + and before 1 week they were for 6. and there is no another way just to buy from market or try to find kind person who can make u cheaper… I think its unfair that there is time or armor that can be crafted only from event recipe without any other way to get this recipe couse spending 50 gold for 1 armor set is stupid then its only armor with stats u want.
Plz, do somethink more fair about it.
There isn’t anything like a recipe for sentinel gear. Sentinel gear can be created only with insignia which was drop from Molten weapon-facility and nobody is able to create them.
This being said, it is easy to understand why they get more and more expensive. I would be surprised if sentinel weapons and armor don’t come back very soon so be patient. And if you do have gold, buy some now and sell them in a few days, there is absolutely no reason for the prices to go down until Anet anounces when they will be readded.
No, it can drop from level 1 already. Still it isn’t a common drop, so you might not see one every run, more like one in 5 runs or so in my experience.
And projectile reflection. Wait what?
I can’t help you choosing as you didn’t tell us how you liked those professions. Both warrior and mesmer are a solid choice for pretty much all game types.
I would never reroll a whole character just to change its look, do you really have that much free time?
The faster way is the crafting way, but I would not advise you to do it. You might be an exceptional player, but most of us need to play a class a lot to play it well. By speed leveling, you might end up being a terrible level 80. I try not to master more than 2 crafting discipline on a character.
As long as you’re going to be running around with 20 slots bags, I’m not going to listen to anything related to realism in an MMO.
I approve of what Folk said, don’t purchase rings, they can drop in fractals 10+ and can even drop already infused in fractals 20+. So I’d say an amulet and two earrings sounds good.
About stats, I prefer getting the central stats of my build rather than ‘going rainbow’.
Seriously what would you like to swap to? What would that bring to you? Our weapon choices are terrible anyway, I don’t even see what you would gain with weapon swapping. Kits are awesome, use them or try another profession.
Given your tolerance to class mechanism, I wouldn’t go for necro or ranger if I were you…
If your ultimate goal is to have the skin of a legendary and the best stats in the game, transmute it now, and you’ll need to transmute it again when a new tier is released. Don’t hope to benefit from any other automatic upgrade they would grant to your legendary though.
What I mean is, if they were to add a significant other to your legendary (as it is now with Twilight and Dawn), you can be pretty sure your transmuted version won’t work.
I stopped doing dungeons as soon as it became clear that, due to design choices, a “standard” run of any path of any dungeon means glitching/avoiding content. It’s horrible design. Now I simply do my daily “world boss chest check list” for money and WvW the rest of the time. I would rather have a root canal than step foot in another dungeon in this game.
A “standard” run does not need any glitching/avoiding to be done. You simply need to find players that are willing to go through the content for the pleasure of it. Avoid players that consider a standard run being the most efficient one, you’ll find new pleasure in playing.
And if you don’t have a guild or enough friends playing, use the gw2lfg website and use the little icon that reads “no skipping content”. You’ll avoid a lot of terrible players (for your tastes that is).
It’s french, and it reads “I don’t want 100g or how to get rid of 100g”. You won’t find “po” on google because it is short for “pièce d’or”, literally gold coin. “Ou” is both where and or, though it should be accentuated when it means where (Où).
I did salvage them with a Black Lion kit though, if that may have any importance.
Greetings all,
I have been trying to figure out if there is a way to lower the font size or remove all together the floating damage/xp/random nonsense text that occurs over mobs during battle. I can’t seem to find it anywhere in the options, but perhaps I am missing something.
If there is a way to change or remove this text I would greatly appreciated any info you wise sages might pass along. Thanks in advance.
I don’t see anything in the options described in the wiki that could do what you want, apart from disabling the UI, but I don’t think that will be enough (ctrl + shift + H). Maybe someone that has access to the game will have a solution for you.
Don’t you have bigger problems?
Please read this sub-forum’s name again before answering this way.
To my knowledge only the senitnel insignia and inscriptions dropped during the dungeon, not recipes to make them. You could also salvage insignia and inscriptions from sentinel gear that dropped from mobs in MF. I honestly haven’t checked if this stat combination is now craftable, either buying the recipe from the master crafter or through discovery with azurite. But then I also haven’t noticed any azurite drop since the MF closed, so supplies may be limited.
We’ve never been able to salvage insignias and inscriptions from finished armor/weapons before… has this worked for you?
I was able to get the inscription by salvaging a gold sentinel equipment that dropped in this dungeon. I guess this was a new addition coming with this dungeon and I sure hope it can be a feature someday.
Oh wow, I totally missed that when looking at those pieces. Guess who’s going to buy some sentinel stuff when he gets home?
I am currently leveling a thief and have both the others at level 80. I wouldn’t say the necro was a breeze to level up, though this was true for the guardian. I don’t find the thief particularly difficult to level up as long as you’re not trying to pull mobs by packs of five.
The thief is known to be quite hard to play in dungeon, but this is mainly true for full berserker build. Their skills are slightly more oriented toward PvP though, which you seem to like, so I would definitely start with the thief if I were you. All you need to do is stay away from elitist parties that will judge you for your profession.
If you are leaning toward playing a profession that other people like to have in a party, go for a guardian, but in my opinion, you shouldn’t play a video game to please others, and any profession can be good or bad depending on the player.
Hum, just to be certain that these advices suit you, are you planning on playing in the North American zone or European zone?
I know that your original question was about crafting them, but you can also get those stats with karma through karma sellers in Orr. If I recall correctly, the Grenth temple merchant offers some armor pieces, all trinkets and back piece for 42K karma each.
On the topic of crafting them, I did get some inscriptions and insignae in the temporary dungeon but I don’t know if recipes have been added to craft the component themselves.
EDIT: On this page of the wiki, you’ll find it under the “Soldier’s” prefix
Let’s add that what is generally done, is to buy the cultural armor and transmute it on an exotic one. Thus you can have the skin of the cultural and still the stats of an exotic. This is done using a Transmutation Crystal because it is level 80 stuff.
About raising the money, it depends how much you play and how much farming you can handle. Some argue that it would take a week of Citadel of Flames farming, but it is quite mind-numbing. Playing normally, well, that should take about one to three months, depending on how much you are willing to sell crafting materials you find. I don’t, so I am not even close to that kind of money.
Being the proud owner of a “burst necro”, you can definitely remove the profession from your question. Necros do not oneshot anything.
My wife plays a zerk ranger and it doesn’t look like it can burst that much, so that leaves thieves.
My experience with thieves is that they have a huge opening burst, but I still need to level mine to 80 to confirm.
To be honest, I don’t really like playing my Guardian, but I might not have found the build that suits me yet. Full dps feels like it’s against its nature and full heal isn’t worth it. I guess a more tanky alternative might be better but I can’t stand using mace or staff too long.
Necromancers and mesmers could have that “sometimes melee sometimes ranged” that you are looking for where the guardian clearly lacks in the ranged part.
Given your preferences, I would advise you to go for mesmer or necro.
Mesmers have a lot of builds that are viable, shatter simply has the higher burst amongst them. I don’t play one but hate to face one in PvP, so I’d say they have good advantages in that domain.
Necros can be a lot of fun too, I main one and am experimenting with yet the third viable, totally different build, I found. I have few experience in PvP, but the tanky necro was doing well in WvW.
On my server there was a collector remaining in Snowden Drifts. All the others are gone.
In the brand new dungeon, you can get inscriptions allowing you to craft weapons and armors with those stats if you are lucky.
As I don’t see it mentioned here, I might as well add that crafting gives a good experience boost and can help you keep up with your gear.
What do you mean better?
If you are looking for a special combination of stats, this page can show you were to get each combination.
There are good reason to kick somebody out of your group, yet I disagree with all 3 examples you have given:
1) If you succeed, it means the player’s good. Insufficient AR shouldn’t be a reason to be kicked if you are skilled enough. Yet I might admit that he lied, it might be the best example you have given. I would simply have asked for an explanation.
2) Being rude and selfish is a good reason to get kicked. However, kicking someone a minute before the end takes out all righteousness in the process. It’s simply getting as low as the people you are criticizing. I would say it would have been an appropriate reason to kick him when he first insulted you.
3) I don’t even understand what he did wrong. Switching might take a bit of time, but if doing it brings to the group, I don’t see what the problem is.
I can ensure you I had the title before finishing all the explorer achievements. So if the only thing yellow stang goes for is the title “Been there, Done that”, no need for those.
The 100% world exploration does not give you ‘Been there, done that’, and has nothing to do with the exploration achievements you see in the Hero panel for the major map areas. This is something different, called the Bluestone achievement.
To complete the Bluestone achievement. and get the ‘Been there, done that’, you must discover every white labeled area in every PvE map. No need to go into WvW maps for this. I did this with 1 character, since I was doing 100% world at the same time, but you might be able to spread these discovers across multiple characters, best you check on this.
You should search the wiki for the list of white labeled areas you need to ‘open’ in each map. Some involve going into caves and the like.
What?
The Been there, Done that achievement is awarded for 100% map completion. I have never heard of a Bluestone achievement and WvWvW was definitely needed for that title the last time I checked. Wiki agrees with me.
I see this as a slightly more complicated problem. See, this system is in place also because someone in the team has to be able to open the dungeon. Which means for a dungeon that he has done the story mode, or for fractals that he has the level for it (let’s imagine he is the highest fractal level in the party).
Now, if we use your system, this would allow anyone to open the dungeon, disconnect and reroll, which is defeats the whole purpose of having a story mode. Same for opening higher level fractals, though I lack a bit of context here, as I don’t know if the highest level can leave the group if he wasn’t the one who opened.
I do agree though that there is something to be done to prevent rage quitters to shut the whole dungeons for others, but I guess it takes slightly more thinking and work to find the right system. The system could have an intelligent fallback on the next character that did story mode, and still crash if no one else does. Or lock disconnected player to come back with a different character, but as I said, this would take time to implement.
Yup, same here. As a personal rule, I bring back the first char to LA, deposit tokens, recycle and then switch to an alt. Never seen DR again since I switched to this timing.
What you refer to seems to be Open World dungeons. What most people call dungeons are instanciated (separated from the world, specific places where only your group can go and is alone there). You can learn about those here .
Their entrances are referenced in the wiki as well and you should have received in-.game messages from your Herald telling you to go there.
Feel free to ask more questions about those if the wiki isn’t enough.
EDIT:
As of fractals, they are a separate type of dungeons and their entrance can be found in Lion’s Arch. I wouldn’t advise starting by those.
Sheesh, give him a reply already. Thief. There I said it. It’s only my opinion but I’d say they have the less “external-dependant” burst on a single target.
Aurora Remains are often the one missed in Maguuma, did you visit them? It’s north-west of the Toxatl Marshes in Brisban Wildland. Or maybe Calx’s Hideout (Names might not be accurate as I am a french player)
Three ideas you could check for:
- The new instanciated place in Braham’s story (Living Story)
- The Forsaken Halls mini dungeon in Dredgehaunt cliffs
- Ulukk’s hunger, on the same map and nearly at the same place
(edited by Sacrai.6280)
I don’t know your toughness and vitality stats but it looks very likely that you will gain back this 126 power loss when the plate only already gives you back 100.
Were you drunk at the time you wrote this?
And if you are serious, by all means study computer programming. They certainly don’t know how to make a game.
(edited by Sacrai.6280)
Then you might want to go with the Rampager ones, losing a bit in alteration:
- Nornbear’s Remembrance
- Petrified Skull Juju
- Luxon Pendant
The only way for you to keep alteration damage as a main stat would be to go for Rabid gear. So any one of those 6 amulets would do:
- Hymn to the Prophets
- The Sleeping Seed
- Speaker’s Dawncord
- Symbol of the Deceiver
- Jade Wind Orb
- The Master’s Special Serum
I guess you intend to purchase it with laurels, which is why my advice is centered on amulets. Rings aren’t worth purchasing with laurels as you can drop them in fractals 10 and up.
Nice guild you have.
This is the sad truth. Find a guild with people who enjoy playing the game for what it is.
The skill doesn’t revive defeated players and doesn’t seem to work well reviving down players either. This is either a bug or poorly written description. Either way it needs to be fixed.
If is indeed only for downed players, I consider this skill rather useless. The cooldown and cast time make it worthless as the cases you need to revive someone, the time to cast it usually means they are already dead.
Also, FYI it will revive dead/defeated NPC’s flawlessly. Which only confuses the issue further.
NPCs don’t have a downed state and their defeated state is considered as a player’s downed state. This is why all of those signets work on them.
I personally use the necro version of this skill, which I consider to be a must in dungeons. Those skills where the center point of our first down of the Lupicus in Arah. I know some roxxor is going to come here to tell me there is no need for it, but for normal people, this skills work wonder to safely revive your allies during this fight. Same for reviving your allies during the Grawl Shaman fight in fractals.
Now I agree that the cast time is long on the guardian version, which means you have to be prepared to use it, sometimes before your ally is downed, which suits me fine.
For Kohler (not sure the spelling) stability helps a lot so having a Guardian helps for that, he can’t pull you with that on, I also think it has a limited range and can be dodged(?), not sure on that though. Most people skip him because he can be annoying to fight.
It can and should be dodged. The animation for that move is 3 seconds long. Also, stability, projectile reflection, hiding behind a pillar and outranging it works. This boss is here for that particular reason, teaching you how to avoid the boss’ special attack. Skipping him will only carry that problem onto the next encounter with a huge attack that should be avoided.
Using signets will reduce the number of buttons you need. I think there is a viable warrior build using only signets, someone might confirm? Also warriors use only F1 and some builds don’t even use it.
Wow, I have no idea on which server you people are playing but you are most certainly freaking out our thief friend here.
OP, I have never turned down any party invite for the sake of profession, nor have I been turned down in any party, though my main is a necro, and my GF’s main is a ranger. There are elitist parties and players, but they remain a minority in game, at least on my european/french server. So don’t be afraid to play the profession you want, you’ll find parties anyway.
OP doesn’t play an engineer. Elementalists are screwed? Engineers can use 2 main hand weapons, all of which ranged and 2 off hands…
What Milennin said, state that you’re not 80 if you want to be sure to find a nice group. It shouldn’t be the case, but it’ll give you more chance to find the right party.
