are you serious or just mentally ill? ^
Id argue that specific builds are more useful in smaller parties than larger ones as if there are a handful of useless players in large parties they have even less of an impact.
This swings the other way, too. A single awesome player is sorta drowned out by nine mediocre cheesewheels in a large ramble of players, with little to no chance to actually display his abilities. It’s one reason damage calculators and the like became popular in Warcraft – people couldn’t naturally tell who on their team was sucking the stovepipe when there were so many candidates to choose from without third-party assistance.
have you seen the fights these nerds get into when you start to suck? I start to suck in a dungeon and people laugh it off or try and help me out, I suck in wow and I get my kitten chewed out and kitten by a big man named buba
the only issue I have with this is the fact we cant sit on furniture as it is or lay down on beds…..so whats the point?
I have experienced these dead zones as well – but you can still complete the events and so on in them, as events scale.
I got multiple Chars and with the Dagger Dagger tank build not any of my chars can take down a such an Ele and yes maybe you should look around 70-80% is already playing an Ele or has one underconstruction.
This. Learn from this ^ – are you paying attention OP?
Now read my lips (text!) I am not saying we need to rely entirely on RNG to reward people like this old MMO did, but giving a chance to get something really cool, added to the prestige of doing something amazingly hard and having your name written down in the history of the server as well as raid dungeon tokens and drops you get would keep people playing. Not grinding no, but playing. Plus it would add some much needed ‘epicness’ to the game in my opinion.
Your describing raids as one time thing. And it should be something with a lot of replayability. There is no point at spending a lot of resources just to create a dungeon that a lot of people complete in a matter of days. After that they will go straight to the forums and wine again about how they have no more things to do.
I think AN needs to be smarter.
Thats what people do already, they kitten fractals was to easy or that cof is being repeated over and over again with speed clears.
AN needs to get off the fact of dungeons and provide more story. Dungeons only serve the loot grind. where as if they put that into the story people would have a lot of things to do.
Because we have plenty of stuff that its broke and never gets fixed and the stuff that works gets fixed to suck. :P
either that or you fail at adapting. I like my answer better.
5 man runs is perfect. No need to wait for specific builds or all that crap. A crappy mes can run with 4 other epic people and still provide.
Id argue that specific builds are more useful in smaller parties than larger ones as if there are a handful of useless players in large parties they have even less of an impact.
I refuse to stand there and wait for a healer like build or some mass dps aoe avoiding build. When I know as a mes I could tweak some of my stuff on the fly if needed by the party.
builds are exscuse to exclude the weaker players and the casual players from playing with the more elite players which is why Anet made dungeons five man and made all classes more or less – balance (in quotes)
in some cases I agree with this thread – they can respawn to fast. in other cases – they respawn to slowly. We do need some kind of balance here.
You need to learn to play. its a simple as that. a mesmer can take down a two hit theif, so im sure you can take down an “OP ele.” Hell a crappy wanna be noob of a warrior can take down an ele. its all about the build. Get your self a cookie cutter build, learn to play it, adjust it and go.
stop asking for things that aint broke to be fixed – sais the mesmer

Guildwars 2 “housing” IF ever implemented will be an interesting thing. Can we lay on beds? sit on chairs? organize the way we want?
How will they be protected from other players stealing? will their be events that tie into our house? will they cost 500 gold?
Exciting I say, exciting
This thread should be closed. We are NOT AND NEVER WILL BE wow. we are better then wow, we are hotter then wow, were the cool kid on the block, were not some cartoony fake wannabe
the other reason its so hard is this was my first server, since launch. never switched
I play on a sony viao – max graphics, it works
Any one? I need help figuring this out.
So I have a problem, I have a character on Sea of Sorrows and as we might know the server is known for its WvW reputation, but I haven’t found a good enough guild on SoS to be worthy of me staying.
How ever I have a guild, active guild on magma (how ever you spell it). but I have heard bad things about there WvW skills.
I have no idea what to do, if I stay, I loose a good guild but gain WvW reputation. How ever, if I move I loose the server reputation, gain a guild on a not as high populated server.
So I look to the community for help in making this tough decision.
All the while i’m just a casual player.
Looking for an active SOS (Sea of Sorrows) Guild that is recruiting. Thanks.
Bonus is:
active, mature, WVW, Dungeons, PVE, PVP.
I use this armour and run a duel sword, scepter/torch based weapon set.
You can buy rare “strong” Armor with rabid stats on the tp for 25 to 30s a piece
this is what I did and I highly recommend it.
What are you trying to do?
I’m pretty sure the OP and various posts have stated that quite clearly….
What about runes or jewls?
I have a few rampagers weapons, both my swords are, so ill look at a set of that
Makes sense. if you look at the build im running, its a “get enough clones out, slow you down, shatter and come in swinging with the swords.” Ill use the sceptre and torch if I need.
The one main skill this whole build relies on for me to do the amount of damage I do is time warp. Faster is better.
I tested this on a mob of about 5-6 creatures. easily took them down. 10+ and its a bit dicey, need to move around a bit more, recharge skills faster and shatter faster.
anything I can do with this build to make my elite recharge faster? since I depend on it the most. I drop it, then get my clones out then shatter and finish you off with swords and possible conditions.
So the armour I have is “ok” for the build I created? But I ideally want rabid?
right now I am running strong conjurers set as armor
It’s similar to but not, the shatter cat build. I manage to get a lot of clones out, deal high and fast damage with the swords and shatter the clones and illusions dealing damage and so forth. I also create clones when I dodge and I am able to apply conditions via my torch and sceptre.
Any idea what type of armour you would use for this build? Most of the armour I get right now is from TBLTP as its cheap and I some times use karma on maps to get my armour.

Ok, Ill try and see what I can make with 0 20 20 0 30. I want something like, but not exactly like shatter cat. what about my weapons? I likes what the scepter and torch brought me.
Also new build:

(edited by Salacious.7358)
So I took that idea and decided to build a build based off of it:

Thoughts?
As my main and my only character, I am looking to create a build for a mesmer, how ever the problem is – I want it all. LOL. It seems that cookie cutter builds are the way of GW2 now, like they were for GW. So, I am looking for some suggestions that I can alter on my own to suite my needs. This would be for PVE only.
I like the idea of being hard to hit, hence the clones, of being able to rip boons from you or exchange my afflictions for you boons. I like the idea of being able to hit you, and hit you hard (precision and power). With that in mind armour would not be much of a issue as I either would have tons of clones or I would be able to some how slow you down.
I don’t have a build now so I have nothing to post. I run a Sword Staff combo and like the idea of I doge and leave a clone behind. or I fall from a high cliff and start a field that shocks you (forgot the skill name).
I would be willing to switch up weapons if need be, maybe a duel single handed sword and a scepter/focus?
as for armour, its a mix of everything, as I haven’t really focused on armour. But I am moving more towards a precision based gear, which I buy with karma on various maps.
So with that information what type of skill set should I run, weapons, armour and traits. I just hit 60 and its no wonder i managed this far with my non existent build and my mish mash of armour. A vetren would say I am doing it all wrong and should stop trying to play a mesmer – or at least in GW1 they would.
So what’s your thoughts?
So the reason I avoid crafting is because one, you would need two characters. Your main would never craft their own armor or weapons or what ever because by the time you get the stuff, unless you buy it all like some people do, the gear you make is useless to what you could buy from a karma vendor.
So with that said you would usually have two characters, one that masters crafting to craft for all others.
My question is – how good can you get? How good of armor or weapons can I create? If I maxed everything out would I be able to go as high as exotic? some part of me is saying no……but would you ever deck a character out with crafted stuff or is it better to just run dungeons?
I only saw medium
I have seen people state these are good armour sets to get, looking through the BLTP they seem to be medium armour – which mezzies can’t ware…..Thoughts?
I find that on level 45-50 areas for humans the maps are dead. I did a whole dynamic event on my own (thank god for enemy scaling) – but where is every one?
My server (sea of sorrows) is “full” too
With messies – as I play one – Its about: Clones, Swords (you can push waves of enemies back) and teleport skills to gtf0 out of there.
there so easy to play, now in gw they were a challenge.
were not paying customers. yes we bought the game, no we don’t pay monthly. if we paid monthly then id sign.
Sooo we BUY the game but are not PAYING costumers? Did you get it for free?
Or can’t I just follow tht logic? We payed for the game, so we are paying costumers.
/signed
your an idiot. we dont pay in the sense of wow. we pay once. anet owes us kitten.
were not paying customers. yes we bought the game, no we don’t pay monthly. if we paid monthly then id sign.
so for those of us who missed the big fight – not complaining – what happens next? like I know it was a one time event but is there any point in going back to the island?
they stated in many articles they wanted to bring an expansions worth of content – was this it? if so….I missed it >.<
I totaly agree, half the time I cant read the font.
Chrysalis.5983
First world problems.
(Also what the hell are you trading that many of?)
Wood is very common to be “that many of”
I am only level 39 (half way to 40) this is the gist of my build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/en/?fgEQNAR8Klwzip3UToek4UhoTqgrLLA
Ive had a lot of rude guild leaders who invite me and then tell me I must do such things I politely decline and they scream at me in chat……..so I get to a be a bit rude, how ever, I don’t think what I laid out is rude.
Looking for a guild, this time I have laid out my qualifications for joining a guild more deeply so that you can make a better informed descion if I am a proper fit for your guild or not.
Items in Bold I will not join if I must do or you do not have them. Items in italic i dont care too much about.
- I must not be made to sign up for some kind of form or third party site I am here to play GuildWars 2 and chat and get the occasionally help from the guild while also participating in guild events, not sign up for forms.
- I must not be forced to use vent Again I am here to play a game.
- I will not switch my server (sea of sorrows) I have friends from college, work and RL here.
- Must have more then 25 people
- North american guild would be cool
- maturity is a must I don’t care about age restrictions, but I don’t want to see racial, sexual, homophobic responses. kthxbye.
- must be an active guild
- Have experience with GW1, 2 years or more
- Be a social guild, I like to chat in game chat when I play. Not a biggie if your mostly quiet, sometimes convo is nice.
- No drama, political, guild or other wise.
I know its a bit of a list, but I have tried some guilds who messaged me last time and they had crazy crazy requirements. I am:
a casual player who doesn’t have time to commit to your guilds obligations of dungeons on Thursdays and pvp on bla date. I am looking for a PVP, WVW, PVE with a focus mostly on PVE
what I mean is that the whole area is not the same as GW1, Understanding that dragons and volcano have an affect but mountains in general are pretty strong like it would take this dragon doing a h3ll of a lot of damage.
with the exception of mountains changing over time due to natural causes :P – is there anything that is the same as GW1?
it seems to me that the shiver peek mountains have changed A LOT and as I recall, from school – mountains don’t change. I get there was a flood, as stated in the lore about the shiver peeks, but nothing seems familiar and in 250 years no that much could have changed…..
Can some one fill me in?
Ok so is it me or does it take a long time and a lot of resources to go from say 0-75 for things like artificer or tailoring? or am I just smoking something you all wish you had? I chop lots of trees, I mine lots of jazz – But as a level 33 messie, I only have 43 in artificer and like 20 something in tailoring.
am I doing something wrong? Cause to me it seems that these are he two hardest to level when artificer should be super duper easy. I think its because when you leave queens dale (human) or other starting locations, the starting trees and minerals are no longer there…..so should I stick in queens dale and farm trees and what not till I reach my desired levels in these crafting classes?
i dont have time to wait
