We will be putting up another challenge as of now, we’d like a group to do the champion fight in the harpy fractal on lvl 28, the challenge is to kill the rabbit last, no consumables allowed, nourishment is fine ofcourse. Also, kiting the rabbit out of the room(I dont even know if its possible but just in case) is not allowed.

You are right when we are talking about lower levels such as 1-49, over lvl 50 his autoattack (his normal axt swing) will be a bigger problem than grawl agony arrow.
Right now with 55 ar I can “tank” 1 shot from grawl shaman but I die instantly with my 10.8k HP thief from 1 axt swing and dodging an arrow is much easier for me^^

Let’s say it depends on the level and on the intention of the group. If speed doesn’t matter someone can kite the Mossman around while the rest can do dmg without any problem.

Sure thing, but I didnt mean exploiting him as in pulling him into the water, I mean being a little kitten and running away, I dont think that’s considered an exploit, but I could be wrong. And going to 50+ is exploiting that aside, the levels arent scaled in agony yet I believe, once they actually get released the shaman’s arrow should get more agony damage so that 55 AR will still be powerful as hell, but wont ignore all the damage. on thief I believe the arrow itself already hits half your health off, so once that scaling is done it will be just as strong as the shaman’s arrow.

You can kill this Grawl relative easy with enough reflects or when you go range.. o/c you can kite around Mossman too but I cant see his attacks as well <.<

I get where you are coming from but this clearly depends on partysetup and personal experience.grawl is commonly seen as the hardest boss in fractals because of multiple reasons: 1- lots of people fail to see the animation of the arrow, that combined with this boss delivering agony on every autoattack makes things harder. 2- aoe firestorm is hard to predict for most people. That leads to unavoidable damage which you can’t afford. 3- reflection makes thiings easy, as you said, but absorbs and reflects require coordination, as 1 person can hardly protect everyone during the entire phase without signing when and/or where he will be spawning things.

Overall, what is considered hard is what put groups have trouble completing.

The mossman leaves more room for rallying throughout the fight, and can be kited around, his attacks can surely be hard to see at times, but contrary to the shaman not all of his attacks inflict agony. That aside, you can always jump into the water, and unless you stand really stupidly close, won’t Target an entire party at the same time, like the grubphase of Mr shaman.

I mainly run 10 in arcana instead of water for arcane cooldowns and free fury because I dont really do group content much anymore. People who can regularly run conjures and focus just seem lucky to be carried imo, must be nice though.

I don’t mean to be rude but, what exactly are you trying to accomplish with this thread? Sharing my own experience, I think it is relatively common for people to consider lupi and the imbued shaman to be the hardest bosses currently in the game.

So sad that the linksville forum has been extinct since 1942, anyways, I am interested in maybe starting out pvp sometime, so ill watch, keep up the good work.

you’re not able to do them right now and I am considering reopening them but this will be once I finish university and get hired as the new dungeon team Anet is planning on setting up around 2018.

In all seriousness though, no, you can not enter it yet, but I believe that they are planning on opening the higher levels, atleast some of them, with the release of the molten facility/aetherblade and thaumanova reactor fractals, which are schedualed to be released before the year ends.

They aren’t preferred but it doesn’t really matter you can clear any exp dungeon with any team setup really.

It only gets iffy when you talk about high lvl fotm.

not sure what you mean with iffy, but there is no reason thieves would be less preferred in high level fotm, thats actually where utilities such as stealth start to play a bigger role.

Good, do the both of us a favor and keep it at guardian and warrior, maybe try out ele, I know I’m too stubborn to ever give up on getting the best time, let’s not have this become another eternal race which ends up in milliseconds.

I agree I may have said some things that aren’t true, so I edited it, anyways, the projectile reflection is still hard to keep up, people have to actually watch wwhere my skills are going and the wardens die almost instantly when they don’t attack, wardens need to be perfectly timed to keep it up 100% of the time, and this is only against projectiles anyways. As for damage, we all know that mesmers can’t try to tip warriors even with reflects, and for defence 2 eles or a guardian suffice too, I don’t think its more skilful to use reflects, but its definitely not easier than fgs.

feedback doesn’t do 800k damage, that’s only in a highly coorinated lupi kill as you know, and frankly I don’t see how protecting yourself from things once in a while is such a big problem, I thought we were against facetanking and I believe you know we can’t dodge everything at all times. I’m not saying fgs should be complained about or not, frankly I don’t care, but dont pretend its the same as feedback in a normal situation, and that suddenly 6 seconds of projectile negation and an amount of damage equal to around a third of fgs is more of an exploit than getting 200k damage in a couple of seconds, which, aside from the big cooldown can be done around 6 times everytime you spawn it.

Already on it! But now I am not allowed in speedclears anymore and people complain about lich form being an exploit cause in this game only hitting things with a stick is legit.

Depends on what you’re trying, if you’re trying to get a speedclear done, you cant really afford more than one 3+ locust spawn I’d say, if not, I recommend putting up a temportal curtain on a place where the warden is likely to spawn, the cast the warden, pull swarms in, immobilise with skill 3 and shatter once warden is done hitting, Aside from that, you can always use timewarp if you get in a situation like that, use it well, shatter a bit and let the warden hit a lot, you should be able to get most of them dead.

Because of the lower direct dps I was unable to kill the grub, but this seems like a decent time anyhow, while this is one of the few places where this gearset is useful, it looks like atleast for reflect focussed fights, this stat combo is useful.

I like seeing new people interested in soloing again once in a while, personally my own reason for soloing content is also the challange, combined with people saying ‘I bet you cant do this’.
If you want to start trying things out, I think you should really try and figure it out by yourself, find your own playstyle and see what weapons or traits you feel good using.

If you want to practice the basics of combat mechanics and dodging, I reccommend the cliffside fractal, look for the fractal, go solo the first boss, he’s got fairly straightforward but deadly attacks, its a great place to practice the basics of dodging, keeping focus and reacting quickly. Beat him on lvl 1? go to lvl 10, beat him there? lvl 20

Soloing things in general is about setting a goal, practicing and adapting,
1.go find yourself a place which you’d like to solo, I usually look for things that havent been done before.
2. Try it, see where you fail, see where you’re doing well.
3. reflect on the previously collected data, having trouble with condis? change to more condi removal, having trouble with projectiles? focus more on projectile deflection, having trouble with big groups? find a way to seperate them or practice using a more aoe based weapon.

This may not be exactly what you asked for, but to be honest, in a solo environment the dungeons are so varied thakittens hard to give any specific order to them in terms of, start here, end there.

Frankly, half most of those levels arent even supposed to be played yet, and its debatable if lvl 40 is supposed to be played. Right now I’d say they kept the 30-39 lvls for the increased fractal weapon droprate, perhaps the 40-49 too. But once the higher levels will really be released, I expect them to add more rewards, aside from the claimed higher drop rate of exotics.

While I do see some points of improvement in most cases, it looks like you guys are really having fun and Im sure beginners can learn a lot from this, maybe its even better to have them find out the advanced tactics themselves ^^ great job.

Aside from that, if you aren’t in a group with 2 people and 3 illusions under the feedback with a max damage build, you aren’t getting him past phase 2 in one go. When the second aoe strikes feedback is on cd, and we have to rely on either a dice roll with a well timed warden or dodge just like anyone else.

Normal agony gets capped at 40 (all normal agony from 40 to 80 is same). Agony from Jade Maw gets ridiculously high at 50 (on my guide’s settings page you can play around with agony resist and fractal level and see how it goes).

Personally I havent really noticed much of the precursor thing, droprates on exos and such should increase as you go up the levels, but hard evidence of such an RNG based system is not something you can acquire over the short period of time the fractal was available. Fractal skins do drop more frequently I believe, when I hit 60+ I got a weapon at every daily, same as 3 other party members, yet as expected I still havent got the one I want.

Yes, I managed to finish lvl 80 on my guardian before the january update which capped fractals, I later got my mesmer up to lvl 80 with another group by doing only uneven levels. The only thing that is capping the higher lvls is the jade maw, it instantly kills you and when you get up it instantly kills you aswell, a harsh but effective way of stopping your progress.

Haviz, what you said isnt really true, if you open lvl 81 it will just open lvl 80, it wont display 81 at all. If however you finish lvl 80 and stay inside of the fractals waiting area, you will have the display bug you were were talking about, I personally didnt test whether the lvl has the jade maw included, but I suspect so, in that case its indeed a display bug.

They said somewhere that they were capping it because they want the higher levels to be gear gated, they want people to obtain ascended equipment first, only after that they would allow people to access the higher fractal levels with more challange as well as rewards.
At higher lvls its still RNG, but the chances do indeed increase, not sure if this is intended though, I believe more rewards will be added in time.

to OP: I think they’ll release the 50+ levels in the next patch, we’ll likely have to wait for ascended armor to get to the highest levels though.

I use the movement to keep things from becoming boring xD plus it keeps my reaction timing up. And no it didnt give a lot of problems, I seemed to know most cooldowns by heart, the biggest problem was that you cant see your own health, or whether there are conditions on you(apart from green character with poison)
