I saw this one a while back, while I don’t know his name, it’d be unfair not to add it.

A touch off-topic, but what dyes do you use?
And very well done also
In this set I use midnight purple and midnight ice.
Time to add my archdiviner too then, lvl 80 btw

would try, but cages 0.0 cages everywhere
I saw it here somewhere before so I thought I’d step it up a bit, dont know why the quality is so bad though.
Apologies in advance if you dont like the music >.>

meh, w/e, fury phantasms makes p1 faster, I dont see how blurred frenzy helps the curtain in p2 anyways. Doubt it mattered THAT much.
I couldnt really decide on 2 or 4, aside from the phantasm, the only thing the 20% faster cd gives and is 2% crit chance and more survivability, so I chose fury phantasms instead, shouldnt be that big of a difference. I used clone on dodge as Im using +3% damage for every illusion, so dodging into the feedback bubble gets you just a bit more damage.
Seeing as how Dub got himself some speedclears, I thought it was about time I got myself one too.
Nobody actually stands outside of dungeons looking for a group, they either use mapchat or gw2lfg.com/.net, theres no point waiting for a group doing nothing if you can just continue your activities.
Yeah, if Sandy would just have not completely wasted it…
You’ve been doing about 75k damage in phase 1, to do 100% more haviz would have landed 4 full autoattack chains which seems a bit unrealistic.
Sandy sad now
Power does also affect the reflects, just not as much as critdmg/traits.
If you are right about this, then it has to be 0.000001% influence or something, try out going to karka island, put feedback over a young one, note a non crit hit, then take off all your armor and do the same, I’d be surprised if you see any difference (apart from maybe the scholar runes effect ofcourse)
Now do grawl plox, GJ with the others
Might actually doesnt affect reflects, as the power of the projectile itself(fired by lupicus) is used to calculate the damage. To get the high hitting projectiles, you want to make use of simple +?% damage modifiers. so using +4% per redied mantra, +3% per active illusions, +10% from scholars gear and the raw +critdamage makes the reflectiondamage go up. But ofcourse the vunerability is important still.
PS: Sandy = Mes? How strong have your reflects been?
They were all around 32.7k, not as high as they can be, as you know.
reflections have a maximum though, adding infinite targets doesnt help after a certain point
Why the huge jump in speed between earlier this year and now? A few months ago the record kills were only incrementally improved, but you guys just cut it in half in like…3 weeks.
Cause we’re SOLO, obviously
Im not sure what you’re trying to say with the shortbow thing, but yes I was partially bored, but I also just enjoy making challanges for myself
As I recently made a thief, I thought I’d try it out. It was a great and challanging fight in the end, and took it took me a while to actually get the final boss down. I know I died in the video at the stone throwing, but due to my leaving in the holidays I didnt have the time to do it over. Ive been playing the class for around 30 hours now, cut me some slack. Turn the volume up, you’re gonna need to, and thanks for watching.

If you plan on soloing you should focus on path 2, that is the most solo-fit path, path 3 is also possible but the final boss is a hassle. Path 1 and 4 are actually impossible to solo legitimately, because of the mechanics. I personally dont really know much about the warrior, so if you’re looking for tips, you should ask one who has done it before as seen in the thread below. Lupi is waiting for you.

While this has already been posted on the dungeon forums, I would still like to be sure that attention is given to this.
With the new patch, the two chanters at the armseals will respawn after wipe, this has, however, had a bad side-effect. When a party wipes before actually reaching the two seals, and therefore not having killed the two chanters, the secondary group will spawn, and the two chanters will be gone. After this, the fractal will become a lot harder, and even after wiping they will not despawn to make place for the two original chanters. As proof I have tried it out on lvl 1, the pictures below show exactly what happens:
1-reach the seals- 2 chanters alive
2/3-jump down, triggering a full partywipe(check timer and log to confirm legitimacy)
4- run back up- 5 chanters alive, original 2 have dissapeared(timer shows 1 minute later, screenshots in log should confirm legitimacy)
(edited by Sanderinoa.8065)
Maybe its when a party wipes before even the arm seal?
This is what I suspected after seeing the actual run done by DnT, they wiped several times trying to get the hammer up to the seal, so I tried it out. in the pictures below you can see that I first reach the seals with 2 chanters up, then jump down. After I died(complete party wipe), I ran back up again and you can see that the full group is present.
I am not sure about whether the actual fix works(and I hope it does), but I can confirm that this bug is really present and should be looked into.
It depends on whether you enjoy the class, I run with necros quite often and if they play well, they make mobs melt, aside from that, the necro should be getting some great buffs next patch, making them even more efficient. If you like the necro more than the warrior, just stay on the necro, this game is about fun, and while warriors often are more efficient, they don’t neccesarily make the game any more interesting. Don’t worry about not being accepted into parties btw, the people who discriminate on class arent the ones you’d want to run with anyways.
Recently Ive been noticing a bug to do with minion mobs, I am not aware if this has been adressed before but I will anyways. It appears as if mesmer’s illusions do not recognise certain types of minion mobs, with this I mean mobs which have been spawned by a bigger foe, the easiest example: Giganticus Lupicus’ swarms/grubs. As I run a lot of arah and fractals, Ive mostly noticed this with:
Lupi’s swarms/grubs
risen hunter’s eagles
ice elementals spawned by Ice ele boss in dredge fractal.
It is possible to summon illusions to attack these mobs, but the illusion will only stand still and refuse to attack. Because this also applies to phantasms, it decreases the usefulness of the mesmer a lot in these situations. I hope someone can look into it.

So much thread derail.
shhhh, dont tell them now, this way I can keep all the money.
xD I cant believe you actually took the time for this, anyways, goodjob. I am pretty sure that the doublevet spawn is random, it isnt always on the same spot.
Well Ive got plenty time and could use money Ill see if I can get you some nice relics in the nearby future.
wow. nice job! also, extremely lucky of you to not get trapped at all
This bugged me too, but I can confirm that during his tries he has been trapped plenty and was able to get out 80% of the time.(I was stuck hosting the dungeon for hours!)
So much better than Dub’s engi solo. this is officially sanderinoa approved, goodjob.
great, this has officially become a showoff thread, while I agree that the original post was a bit pointless, it would be nice to see some actual constructive feedback on these forums for once.
well ye I may have exaggerated a bit, the shield can now be destroyed by the aoe though, which can render it useless if the shaman is smart. (not sure since hp update, my apologies)
I would expect caltrops to work on him, it seems as if ground based attacks involving cripple or chill work on him, for example, the elementalst can use frozen ground to slow him down. You can also see this in my solo as I put down temporal curtain to cripple him, he appears to almost stop moving because of it.
While haviz is right, we did have a mesmer too, although I was mainly focussing on taking the bubble down instead of helping the rest of the team survive. Swirling winds is really just as valueable at this boss as any of the guardian reflect/absorb skills is.
1st get rid of your friend – it is not even close to imbossible it is just a bit more challenging.
Actual tip: leave 1 Enchanter on 1 side alive, so this seal doesnt regenerate health fast and it is actually easy to kill. Once you are done with this seal bother with the other one.
Personally is this stage much easier on high lvl than that one stupid seal where you have those firecircles and all the veterans spawning…
they’ve already taken down all chanters on both sides, and if its a guildrun it would be kinda mean to get rid of someone if he’s just a bit less experienced/competent, but yes next time they start they should try and keep 1 alive.
It’s surely possible, you just have to keep one side active, so they cant heal the seal, you should have about 3 people constantly fighting and pulling the mobs into the hallway on 1 side, the other 2 people should take the hammer and run from side to side while charging the hammer at the location of the other 3. For the running it would be smart to choose either guardians or thieves, but on your level its fine as long as there is 1 person who can distract the mobs when the other runs in. This way you’ll take one seal down slowly, while the other remains getting healed. after 1 is down its a piece of cake.
volcanic fractal tier 2 solo on mesmer
lvl 13, frankly I couldnt beat the dps test thing on levels higher than this for the mob started moving too quickly, anyways, Im happy with it.
I didn’t make use of strafing, racial skills or timewarp, I found that it wouldve destroyed part of the challange, as it was already easier because of my class.
hahaha, trying to get bubble, my ass, you’re standing still 90% of the time, anyways goodjob nontheless.
Just curious guys (I know this is an old thread so this may be redundant): I run a mobile spirit ranger build – could a Spirit of Nature with Nature’s Renewal triggered just before agony kicks in be a work around as well…? Or does the elite spirit die every time?
Sorry for the newb question – I’ve never actually run a fractal yet, but was planning on having a good go at it & wondering which class might be best for the higher diffs.
you’re underestimating agony :P anyways, it won’t work because the agony continues hitting while you’re dead, so if you get revived after the first agony hits and gets you down, you’ll still have the other ticks of agony shooting you down, time and time again.
If you stop doing anything while in blurred frenzy I’m sure it can negate 3 ticks of damage just as when lupi lifts in the air.
I doubt so, blurred frenzy provides 2,5 seconds of invulnerability, so if the bubble ticks come each second once that would only let you migate 2 ticks, but anyway.
When still getting 1 tick of damage, wouldnt blurred frenzy + one single dodge result in the same, just not wasting 50% endurance?
Going by the idea that the bubble ticks you 5 times(not completely sure if 4/5), dodging to one side(negating 1, taking one), dodging the other side(radius big enough to not get damaged while negating 1 tick) and then using blurred frenzy while getting a small amount of endurance back, is the idea I had in mind, Im pretty sure you should think around the idea that blurred frenzy only blocks 2 ticks, for it will only get 3 if very well timed.
Won’t you still get 1 tick of damage then in the time you need to adjust your position?
I suppose you may indeed get 1 tick of damage, but with the omnomberry ghosts its easily recovered, I still find it a reasonably viable technique. As far as the staff topic with the warlock on the staff, I do agree on it in normal situations, however the warlock will be killed quickly when at lupi(especially if soloing) and this would result in lower damage nevertheless.
I guess it’s just specific to my mobile phone, at 19:28 it just stops playing, the screen turns black and the loading circle appears.
Though, what i always wanted to ask you is why you are using the greatsword. I feel a lot more comfortable using the staff, especially in phase 3 where i can take mirror images instead of mantra. Mirror mages works out very nice in phase 3, Lupicus often seems to have problems targeting, giving more time to prepare for his next move.
It sounds like a good idea, I have been switching the gs(it was scepter first), trying to get a faster performance, but frankly, because of the condi damage of the staff Ive never really gotten used to it. Ill try it out sometime and see if it gets a faster result, but on subject of safety Im pretty comfortable on the mesmer, getting him down 9/10 times at first try. The signet can also be changed for mirror images actually, you can still survive plenty bubbles even with using the blurred frenzy+ doubledodge technique.
Nice guide, sadly the video always stops at phase 2 mesmer start.
What exactly happens? I am personally not having any trouble with it whatsoever :/
it was recently uploaded so I suppose it will be available on phone soon, yes path 2 is the easiest if soloing, I usually have some people tagging along nevertheless
I thought I’d make a lupicus solo guide for those mesmers or guardians around here interested in trying it out, do with it what you will. I hope it helps out.
From what Ive heard you have a lot more patience than I do, anyways, very good work, many did not think it possible.
ah, thanks for noticing, I mean the endboss, the asura for which you need to be phase shifted to kill.
This is less of a complaint, more of a question/suggestion. Ive been running arah for a while on my mesmer now, however it seems that the mechanics of the p2 (end)boss could be slightly improved, illusionst do not get phase shifted, so they cannot damage the boss. This really hacks in dps if you arent shatter based. Is this the same with the other classes such as rangers who depend on damage not dealt by themselves? if so, it may be something to look into.
