I only like Traehearn in this game. Can we remove all the other NPCs and replace them with millions of Trahearnes?

Lol.

I just tried to imagine a world full of trahearns, and no matter what you do in it, they get the credit for it while the general public(of trahearns of course) denies your existance xD

I don’t really understand what you are complaining about. If you don’t like the outfit, just don’t buy it? I bought it, because I liked it, on others I will pass because they don’t match my taste, like the jungle explrorer one for example.

I use mine mostly to level alts, once they hit 80 I get them a real set of armor(except for my Mesmer, that one still uses the noblemans outfit, if I recall the name correctly, because it looks just perfect for that class).

A charr Tribune had no trouble trusting Glint if it meant taking out a dragon, despite the fact her aid could have been a trap, and she did far less to earn his trust. I also am not saying that those sylvari whom have become corrupted should have a picnic with all the pact’s important strategist and logistical officers, but rather those who’ve shown no signs of corruption shouldn’t automatically be treated as any more of a liability than any pact fauna during the assault on Orr. And yes, there are such sylvari.

Glint did a lot of things, that dragon aided the humans for hundreds of years, so it worked kind of hard to get a trustworthy reputation.

The only Sylvari I would trust nowadays is Cannach, because he appears to be kind of immun to any psychic influence(after all, he didn’t even have a dream, and that without beeing a soundless) and yes, I do belive that the dream has some form of connection to the dragon, after all, his champion appears right in the sylvari startingmission. I have no proof of this of course, but to me, Malak and Cannach are the most trustworthy Sylvari right now.

oh and btw, to the point of some sylvari that didn’t et corrupted in the first wave: how shall we know which of them did get corrupted and which didn’t? They could be knowingly serving mordremoth while acting all innocent, and I want to remember you of the damage one orrian that infiltrated the ranks of the pact as a high ranking office could do, and entire platoon of warriors got wiped out because of him.
And no sylvari would admit that he had been under mrodremoths controll, even if he came back to his sences, assuming they ever could.
A single infiltrator can do massive damage to an army, but we are talking about 20% of the former pact forces that go from the lowest soldier right to the leader of the pact, if we activly leave those in command, Mordremoth might even use non sylvari troops against us!(I don’t mean he would command them to kill us, I belive no pact soldier with half a brain would do that, but he could use them to gather magical artifacts, slaughter other enemys for him and many other things, withouth having to waist his own resources).

I know your feel, I gave up on those dye-packs long ago because of that, since I already own all the dyes you can get from non-cashshop drops in the game
Would be nice if there would ONLY be special dyes in those packs, might acutally buy them then, but as they are right now, the risk/reward ratio is way to high for me, if there is one I really want I would just buy it from the auctionhouse for gold.

New Down-scaling Since Patch

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Seishiro.7468

Seishiro.7468

Am I the only one that actually likes the much stronger downscaling? I was running around in the plains of Ashford with my lvl 53 warrior and 2 friends that just started the game yesterday and I had real trouble fighting some oger veterans or bigger number of ascalonian ghosts, I even got downed several times, at one point even killed, something thats a rarity in tiself while leveling a warrior in PvE and I LOVED IT!!!
I missed having a challange while leveling twinks/alts for a long time now, and I am happy to actually think about what I am fighting against and having to concentrate, not just wait for everything to die while spamming weaponskills.
But when I went on the forum I just saw many QQ threads of people complaining about it beeing to hard(they kind of like replaced the QQ threads of things beeing to easy, how ironic), so I wondered, do people not want to be challanged anymore, because I most certainly do.

well just because you can cover up weakness this way, doesnt mean you can’t look buffer with clothing as well.

well, it is true that they much rather enslaved humans back then, BUT:

1: So did the charr, we once wanted the humans dead, since they dared to take our land from us, and now we worktogether against a common foe, so maybe the mursaat will join in too, if only because their other option would be certain extinction.

2: You sure about that? Because I always thought the plane of existance they shifted into were the mists, but I might want to theck my facts there again, will clarify in a later post or an edit.

3: If the Mursaat are the ones that call themself the exalted, that might mean those aren’t the original mursaat anymore, maybe not their entire race wanted things to go the way they unfortunatly did back then. There are human bandits as well, but that doesn’t make all humans bandits. Those that didn’t want to rule over humans like gods, but just prefered to stay hidden in the mists might be the ones that survived and now try to contact us

And to maybe make them more relatable, the Mursaat are kind of like stronger tengu, if faced by a threat they much rather just run then fight, yet everybody seems to love the tengu and wants them on the team XD

Charr leg-armor

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Seishiro.7468

Seishiro.7468

For all my fellow charr players, you know the troubles of choosing a leggarmor that doesn’t have problems, but there are some pretty awesome ones for charr to that use the charrtail for something special, so I though, hey, why not make a list of all the legarmors and outfits that use the charrtail in a cool way:

leg-armor:
the citadell of flame light leg armor is the only real armor I could actually find that really made good use of the charrtale. I think thats a little bit of a shame, it would be cool if the twilight arbor armor turned the tail into a vine, or the arah armor made it all bony, but thats just the way it is.

outfits:
ancestral outfit(male)
Crystall Nomad
Mad king
Imperial outfit(male)

Those are the ones that made really good use of the charrtail. I don’t expect them to make something like that with every armor, that would be way to much work, but it is nice to remember from time to time that we charrplayer don’t always get screwed because of our otherworldy physique, even though there are waaaay to many armors out there with clippingproblems with the tails and way to many helmets remove our horns ID That brings me to another question though: would you have your horns rather clipp trhough the helmet or be removed? because while not liking clipping, I certainly prefer it to the total removal so many helmets to, after all those are horns, they cannot be taken on and off on a whim, those things are stuck in our head, and our head looks way to small without them, don’t you think so to?

Best update in GW2 History

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Seishiro.7468

Seishiro.7468

Well, it is still a new change, stuff always breaks when that happens, and gemfx is a third party programm so I wouldn’t blame them for that.

That said, just saw the clipping bugs on sone of the new female charr faces, wtf, get that stuff fixed arenanet, I mean, there is even some clipping with parts of the cultural armor and armor sets that were out since release(I had to stop using citadel of flame armor on my main because my crotch would litteraly come through the legpart, and that armor is out since release!?)
You are getting better with some of the new armorsets, I will give you that, honor where honor is due BUT YOU KEEP CUTTING OFF OUR HORNS WITH SO MANY HELMETS Q.Q not to mention all the tailclipping, but thats a totally different story that I could overlook far more easily, then when you just take a mask and bump it on our heads, not even trying to adjust the eyewholes to, oh I don’t know, maybe where the eyes are!?
I will keep playing your game because I love it and it is currently the best MMO out there, and I will keep spending money on it, but know that you could get way more money out of me and many other charr(and asura) players if we didn’t had to check every piece of armor you put in the gemshop three times to make sure you didn’t mess up the charrparts again.

so an update that removes the invalidation of asuraears, charrhorns, charrtails and(in case of eyewholes) charrmasks, I want to give you money so you can keep making awesome stuff, but I want you to earn it via awesome stuff!

That said, and knowing you much rather develop cool new stuff than fixing old stuff, having high hopes for charrarmor in HoT, so you better not break my heart of maaguma in the expansion, I putting a lot of faith in you there Arenanet, don’t you let me down!!!

PS: I recognized that I was a little to negative in this post, so I want to end it on a good note, after all I still love the game: It is awesome every time you do something with a charrtail, like with the mad king costume, or the light citadell of flame armor, you can do it if you really want to arenanet, we both now it, you just have to belive in yourself and try a little harder! I only have such high expectations towards you, because I know you can deliver really awesome content!

Seishiro.7468

well it is kind of commong theme nowadays with arenanet..
while I do love GW I main charr and I will never stop doing that, since they are the most interesting race in the game, lore and bodytype wise.

that said, Arenanet, if you don’t get your Skritt together and change your attitude about charr in many ways(like stop removing our horns on so many helmets, fix the tail clipping, and stop just bumping masks on the top of our head so that it is impossible for our eyes to see through, and then explain to us it would be to much work to fix that because the charr are not the mainplayerbase unlike humans and you would rather do stuff, we will simply stop buying those things. I want to love you arenanet, but sometimes you are making it really hard, when there is even clipping with early armors like citadell of flame heavy armor which is a joke since thats the charrdungeon, or some pieces of cultural armor!? you should be better then that, getting real tired of this nonsense charr and asura mains have to go through!)

Still enjoy GW, playing it a lot and spending an extravagant amount of money on it, but stop screwing the charr, our race had to go through enough with all those humans, and flame legions, and ghosts, and dragons and all the other skritt!

I do have to say, I like the idea of one-man-dungeons, didn’t really think about that because it has been a long time since I last played something like that. But it would solve multiple problems, like the dungeonsgroups that don’t want anything but zerkers, stacking wouldn’t be an issue, and so on and so forth.

But then again, I guess the living story things are kind of solo dungeon esc… hmm lets see, I just hope for some kind of new content, be it solodungeons, regular ones, raids or more fractals, all of those work for me ^^

Assuming for a second that Kryta did survive into GW2 under their rule. I’m inclined to believe they would have just abandoned humanity to the dragons and hid from the dragons, it worked so well for them the last time that there’s little reason for them not to do it again (unless they’d managed to develop some sort of attack plan in the time between rises).

there might be reasons for that actually. I don’t think they controlled Kryta during those last years, but they might actually be forced to action, because as we know, dragons learn the secrets of all they corrupt, andy maybe mordremoth learned about the way into the mists once rytlock jumped in, and found a way there himself, forcing the Mursaat out of their hideout.

Charr legions and Technology

in Lore

Posted by: Seishiro.7468

Seishiro.7468

Yeah, others pretty much answered that, only thing I might want to add is that the flamelegion is the exception there, since they don’t like technology, their hyrarchy is pretty much about magical potential, therefore they don’t have technology there, but they have their magic, and more mages then the other 3 legions combined, even though they don’t allow females to use magic.
You could therefore say that flame and iron are the biggest opposits in that regard.

Hell, be happy that there are some challanging mobs left in the game, I like that those actually take more than just spamming your 1 until they are dead, yet they are not as umossible to solo as your avarage Karka is and have interesting mechanics.

Sure, it sucks to get stunlocked by a Group of Teras and finished off by the Trollbees, but that makes for way better gameplay, one of my favorite moments in SW was actually when we were at the indigo deffevent and suddenly the legendary Tera started charging in like the cavalery, followed by a swarm of little ones and just rushed every player in the whole base down, it took us an epic battle to wretch indigo out of his claw again and it was awesome!

I’m sorry, but did we tell you to not fight Zhaitan because your dead bodies could be fuel for its armies? How would you feel if we locked you in cages when the Pact pressed on Kralkatorrik merely because you can become branded?
You had no trouble trusting us with suicide missions in Orr, yet now we’re the ones that can be corrupted, you want us to ignore our Wyld Hunts?
If we’ve learned anything from fighting Zhaitan, it’s that each of us has strengths, but also weaknesses, and only united can we win, which your kind has a habit of forgetting, or did your plan of ‘isolation until the vines come from the shiverpeaks’ have a part were you swoop in from the flank and save the day that you forgot to mention?

The problem is not that your race can be corrupted by the dragon, alsmost every race can be corrupted in some one, be it by dying, beeing exposed to Krallkatorik or the strange worshippingtransofrmation for jormag.

The problem is that you are born as a dragonminion and only some of you managed to
stay free of your true nature until now. Now, you have already gone back to your roots and it annihalated the packt, simple said, you became corrupted by becoming normal. Would we still allow branded to fight at our side? Take the orrians back home with us? No of course we wouldn’t therefore why should we let you be an exception from these rules, now that we know you belong to the dragon?

so let me go thrugh the faces by race:

humans: kinda blend, but whay would you expect from some humans, I am a human 24/7 anyway, don’t need to be one ingame as well

Norn: kinda the same like with the humans

Sylvari: I really like those ones, but I like most of the sylvari option in general, so yeah, nice going there ^^

Asura: Some pretty cool ones there, verry happy about those with the gothic lolita eyes and the scared one

charr: finally some options for charr where the males don’t look like 100 years old and the female like unnecesarrily cute ones, deffinitly going to get one of those for my female charr warrior and maybe one of the male ones as well once the revenant is out

so overall I am quite happy about those new options, the ones I didn’t really like were from the 2 races I am not really interested in anyway(norn and humans), only thing I am a little dissappointed about is thatthere are still no new horn options for the charr, and ear options for the asure >: other then that, cool stuff ^^

I like both of them, especially since they are lesbian AND none Sylvari(I belive at this point we can say that almost all the Sylvari are bisexuall because gender doesn’t matter much to them), it makes for interesting plottpossibilitys(and I will fully admit, in the Scarlettfight when Marjory got blown up, I was “oh kitten” for a few seconds). If it is about destinys edge 2.0 I like them in following order(from best to least)

1. Taimi(I just love that little Scarlett fangirl, best Asura in all of Tyria)
2. Marjory(While the storypart about her sister seemed a litte rushed, I still think of her as an intersting character)
3. Kasmeer(I loved it when she flipped out in the Scarlettfight)
4. Rox(She lacks character, I would love to see some improvements in writing here, but it helps that she is a charr)
5: Braham(His mother complex is a little annoying, but well, at least he watches over Taimi, so I guess he is alright)

I am really looking forward to seeing Channach join the party, he is the most interesting Sylvari the story had so far and I wonder how not having a dream even without beeing a soundless influences his connection to Mordremoth, so he might take the second place from Marjory then

And while it does make sense for Charr to not have big plottpoints involving their sexual orientation since their whole race isn’t really concentrated about romantic relationships, more over comeradery) I do wonder if we will ever see homosexual Asura or Norn, but on the other hand, I don’t care much about the sexual orientation as long as it makes for a good story, if both partys agree to it, let them touch buttz with one another!

I saw in one of Bog Otters videos how he showed a traitline that said something about the “Exalted” in their golden citys, and we saw those creatures in the HoT trailer that appeared to be what became of the Mursaat, but maybe they changed their name because they no longer wanted to be asociated with the ones that slaughtered humans and let themself be worshipped by gods anymore.

Would make sense for the Mursaat to try to help us after Zhaitans death, now knowing the dragons can be slain, to point us in their general direction without putting themself at risk, that has always been kind of their style.

Well to be fair, the game was challanging, but then people started whining about it beeing to hard, until everything got nerfed into the ground.

Nowadays, almost everyone hast ascended or at least exotic armor, and runs dungeons he has already run dozens of times so of course it is easier. Thats why I really hope for HoT to have new dungeons, because I remember how much of a challange p4 of twilight arbor was once it was released, or the fractals that came after the game was released still are challanging(some more, some less, but the Dredge-fractal and/or Grawl fractal still kick my kitten sometimes) so I we shall see if HoT brings challange back to gw-2 ^^

Aren’t the other races just as suspicious?

Jora a Norn lost her transformation ability because of Jormag yet resisted corruption….

Seems more like Jora was punished by Jormag for defying her creator.

Flame Legion seem to have Magma Hands and are able to gift said hands to Dredge.

What’s more the Charr as a whole worshiped the Titans because they were Fiery…..

Doesn’t that make the Charr seem just suspicious?

Asura seems to be the only native playable race that doesn’t seem to secretly be Elder Dragon Minions.

Instead the Asura have built their entire society on Elder Dragon Magic the moment they discovered it so they too are untrustworthy.

As for the Human faction which is the only faction not native to Tyria: They seem to have the Mursaat manipulating the government behind the scenes. Very untrustworthy….

While I can’t dissprove the things you said about the Jora the norn, the fiery magic of some Charr 1: is only used by the flame legion which is commonly known as the traitor legion that surpressed the others for many years 2: goes back to titans, which were servants of Abaddon, the human god of secrets, therefore this is more related to humans than to dragons.

And while it is true that Asura used the magic of the dragon, the magic itself is just magic, nothing more, according to the laws of the eternal alchemy, it is the same as with oil, you could either use it to produce plastictoys for children or fuel a jet that transports a nuclear warhead, the oil itself is neither good nor evil.

And about the humans: It might actually be a good thing if the Mursaat would still be in command, after all we are talking about one of the few races that actually was there when the dragons awakened last, and while the Jotun lost to much of their history to share this knowledge with us, the Mursaat might actually be usefull if they were in charge.

The problem with Zhaitan is you can’t really do an epic dragon fight with just a 5 player instance. They should’ve implemented Zhaitan as a world boss in cursed shore in line with difficulty and scale of TEQ.

naaah, that would be no good because it wouldn’t feel like we really killed an elder dragon, when it just gets done every 3 hours. That and, I prefer it beeing press 1 to win over it beeing a zergrush that gets done every 3 hours.

The Bosses in the storymodes are pretty important to the overall lore in the world, be it king Adelbern, Gaheron Baelfire or Zhaitan.

The fight against Scarlett was able to do this because it was part open world and part instanced, that said though, it worked only because it was in a limited time window and now Scarlett is dead for certain.

Maybe they will try to approach Mordremoth like that, but it wouldn’t work for Zhaitan anymore, since he has been dead for quite some time in the timeline now.

I just want to know why female asura out of all choices use the male version of that.

Can we get standardization on female/male options for female characters? It’s kinda weird seeing a shirtless female asura with nipple piercings.

You think this is weird?….

wow, I feel like a creep for just having seen that screenshot, I am happy that female charr are covered in furr, but a half naked female asura looks weird on way to many levels.

I was no fan of ascended gear when it first came out because I feared it would end in us, having to grind for tons of items that would be replaced by the next higher tier of gear in only a few months, but since it didn’t turn out that way and even after the release of a new expansion, I am fine with it.
I only got one set of ascended gear, since it is enough to have it on your main fractal character and I don’t need more than exotic on my alts/twinks.

Kind of expected it, still happy it kind of finally got confirmed ^^ I am really interested to see how the bow is going to work, since the summoned spectral bow is more of a supportweapon that removes conditions and has an AoE heal

Fear climate in dungeons nowadays

yeah I noticed that too. I am not directly affected by it, since I main guardian and most zerkerteams like having one guardian for the staff-boost, stability and protection, but more often then not I see nonsense like “gearcheck” or “no -insertanynonwarriorclasshere-” saying.
I had a ascalongroup just yesterday, where I joined, and everything appeared to be fine at first, but the second a ranger joined they started insulting him before he even said anything and then kicked him. I left the party at this point, because I didn’t want to spend 20 minutes of my life with idiots like that, but I have to assume it is getting harder and harder for players that just started the game to find a dungeonparty, since you get kicked very often for just having less than 5k AP(like that would be any indicator of actual skill, I have almost 10k but I could still suck at dungeons)

Thats the mainreason I get annoyed by the zerkermeta, I don’t have anything against people that like going for high dps glass canons(even though you have to pick them up every time the boss gets off 1-2 hits) is the mentailty many of those so called “zerkers” have, and their instant kitten ation of everything that is no pure dpsbuild.

That said, I am really looking forward to the day my new players reach lvl 30 and for the first time in years I will be able to go into the dungeon with a gorup of people I know that don’t all know where to stack when, that don’t own only exotic gear and still want to see the videosequences while repeatedly dying to the bosses because we will fight them the way they were inteded, on the lvl that was intended, it is going to be hard as a nail and I am sooo looking forward to it

[Suggestion] World Boss Tokens & Frac Tokens

I’m tired of those RNG which leave the unlucky people down just like the fractal rewards.

It’s a fair suggestion.

Unfortunatelly I doubt very much ArenaNet is going to listen to you. They are not going to work on the core game anymore, under the argument that people are going to play the new content more. Expect the core game to be kept stale and with all the flaws it has today for a very long time.

sad but true, and while I certainly see the direction this is coming from, I really dislake the notion of it. Many people just started GW-2 thanks to the recent sales, I alone know about 5-6 people that only began in the last few weeks, and at some point they will reach this stuff like the disappointing Zhaitanfight, which will just stay that way.

that reminds me of something, why the hell did they disable golemchess in the asura starting area!? I liked playing that game, what happend to it!?

Before I start this post, just let me be clear about one thing, this is not supposed to be a QQ thread about me not having an item, it is just a question.

I didn’t have time to play the game from november till the start of february because I had way to much to do for university and missed out on wintersday this year.

I only just recently heard that you could get an item there that would help you getting rid of the emprayal fragments there. My question is: it there any chance to still get this item, or a conformation it might return next christmas, since you can still get everything necesarry to craft Mawdrey II to get rid of bloodstonedust?

Viability of largos as a playable race

in Lore

Posted by: Seishiro.7468

Seishiro.7468

A new race seems unlikely for GW2.

Well, just because someone at anet says that adding new races wouldn’t add anything to gameplay doesn’t mean that it’s true. It just means that they’re wrong. Again. ;-)

Largos and Tengu (and Centaurs and more) can’t get here fast enough.

agreed, the ultimate payoff for a class to be added to the game might be bigger then what you get from a race, but discarding the idea of races entirely because their overall impact would be smaller is wrong.

It’s the same with so many sets of armors having problem on Charr(tails, eyeplacement, horns, feet, glitches) or the feet of asura. Yes, both races are quite different to the normal human body, and they are not the most played race(which are the humans, followed by the norn if I recall correctly) but tossing the idea of fixing that out is wrong, same goes for the races.

I don’t have numbers, but from the people I know, while beeing exited for the new class, none of them actually wished for it, more playable races have always been more interesting, since GW is such a loreheavy game.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Seishiro.7468

well they didn’t say anything about dungeons, but there are some little hints at 10-people raids(the sequenz where 10 people walk to the mursaat in the trailer, and the fact they hired a raiddesigner) which would be a nice change of pace.

That they dodge the question is a common theme for arenanet, I mean they said they didn’t want to release an expansion forever, and now they suddenly do, but until something gets confirmed or the game is out, there is no way to know for sure

PLEASE make the final boss battle good!

Seishiro.7468

I belive they admited something along the lines of Zhaitan beeing a failiure, in the way that they wanted to make something cool, but couldn’t pull it off, so it ended as a “click 1 to victory” bossbattle, but since the release of the game they learned a lot about the design off bossbattles, I belive most of us can agree for example that the bossbattles in silverwastes are way more interesting then the ones in Orr, or that the fractal bosses are more challanging than most dungeon bosses right?
Therefore, I belive Mordremoth will be a way more challanging boss than Zhaitan was, since we won’t even be able to just blast him with canons(he is most likely going to be underground, since his leyline vines are part of his body).

The best design for the Mordremoth bossfight I could think of is him beeing a dungeon/raid, where the whole dungeon is his body, where we fight section after section of organs and stuff that lives inside of him, but let’s see how this is going.

I think we will fight Mordremoth in the expansion, it would be kind of weird having all of season 1 working towards him, all of season 2 prepearing for him and then still not do anything with him in season 3(I am just calling HoT season 3 now, since the end of season 2 goes over into HoT).

WvW no longer required for world completion

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Seishiro.7468

I think it is a good change gameplayvise, world completion is more of an PvE thing, and if you are a player with a server that is just bad in WvW it is a plain pain to do the WvW map.

I already did my worldcompletion so I am not really affected by the change unless I decide to do so again, but I belive this to be a smart change from a mechanical standpoint.
