While I agree with the gw1 style skill hunt the armor seem useless. You have so many options with armors that you can make a great combo.

Really? Mine just finished and it was a bit over 3 GB. I played yesterday so i was updated.

So I fired up GW2 this morning and its downloading a new patch. It seem to be between 3 and 4 GB. I found no new patch notes on the forums or the wiki. What did they update?

Other games don’t experience the amount of both connection lag and skill lag that GW2 servers display on a daily basis, I can honestly say I’ve never seen worse.
Imagine these GW2 servers trying to handle larger map populations? Meltdown.

We on shiverpeaks have a few guilds on TS and all. The first few months we were really good. Right now we are a bit weak so we welcome more players. We have a few excellent commanders and organisation. I’m in a WvW guild right now. We do other stuff too sometimes. Lots of pugs though.

So I’ve played since day -3 and since then i have made a thief, ranger, guardian and a warrior. I still have a free character slot and I am debating whether to make an elementalist or a mesmer. I tried both of them but neither really appeal to me. The rest of the classes are even worse. Should I wait a bit for a possible new class or try to decide between those two classes? Also I would appreciate any help regarding the choice between the two classes.

Shadowbane, it was in one of the previews for the patches – mid December I believe. The lead game designer said first that pets are bad (he actually said the mechanic doesn’t work) then he stated they have no plans of fixing the pet AI or altering the mechanic.

Have the devs said anything? I know we got a few fixes and changes (3-4 of them) in a recent patch. Also the utility of rangers is a bit weird. They tried to cover all of the ranger stereotypes yet we have signets that could have been replaced with toggled skills that give us camouflage, eagle vision type tracking, having the ability to use plants (herbalism) or hide in trees. Are we stuck with a ranger like this? I guess we have to wait for the last big patch…

at the moment warrior knows everything better. and anet wrote they wont buff ranger because they dont want to rewrite the whole mechanic. that was the point when i finaly left my ranger

Again a skill slot used up an a trait kinda wasted. Like the warrior method. Runes are really expensive but I guess I’ll have to deal with it.

Mostly people run the champ train in queensdale ( Ask around there they can explain it to you). I personally leveled up by going and completing maps. All the 1-15 ones then 15-25 ones. That gets you really close to 80. Then you can go over to the personal story (If you enjoy it).

That question is just silly. I am playing since the 3 day head start and I too love the game but at the same time I am open about flaws and i do not deny them.
Didn’t your mother ever tell you no question is silly? Or any teacher in school, rather?
My point is that a lot of people see GW2 through rose tinted glasses for the first few weeks or months until they get to max level and see how everything lays out. With ascended gear grind for BiS gear (if that interests you) to the open world zerg content that is Living Story, to the lack of attention to dungeons, etc.
So yes, there are people like you that guininely enjoy the game since day one and I commend you. But there are a ton of people that enter the honeymoon phase at level 1 and exit the honeymoon phase at level 80.

You really stopped reading properly. I never stated that scarlet was interested in these factions. Quite the opposite. Notice the question mark at the end of the sentence.
The way you phrased it was really confusing, though. It appeared to be a statement rather than a question, so I for one assumed the question mark was an unintentional error. You might want to keep the other person’s perception of something in mind, before saying something that will probably be construed as a personal attack.

But her backstory suggests that she is interested in the queen, the dredge, the charr, the krait and NC? She is a character with random thinking. We rally can’t presume what her next move is going to be.
Actually it doesn’t. She mocked the Queen, but did not seem to make an honest effort to actually kill her or kidnap her. Disrupting the festivities seemed to be all that she was after, and creating chaos. She wanted to shame the Queen and create a spectacle. But did she have any serious plans with the Queen? It didn’t seem like she did.
Regarding the Dredge, Flamelegion, Krait, Nightmare Court. She didn’t seem interested in them either. All she seemed interested in, was their technology, and lifting them to a higher level. She created the Molten Duo out of the Flamelegion and Dredge. She created the Hybrid out of the Krait and Nightmare Court. But as soon as she was done, she abandoned them easily. What she seems interested in (at least to me) is the final product, and then she moves on.
She also seems interested in the Watchwork Knights, as is evident by her army of Watchwork horrors, and the upcoming giant Watchwork marionette. But to what end? And why attack Lornar’s Pass? Is she marching on Lion’s Arch? And if so, why?

On the other hand. I personally like this idea. @Malafide you made your point and you showed a few arguments. The nice thing would be to end this senseless debate over who is right or wrong. The lore community said their arguments and the supporters of this idea showed theirs. Going on for 2 more page will not convince anyone of anything.

What I’m saying is, up to this point she’s not given any inclination to care for anyone at all. All of her actions seem to have served her own egocentric interests. And she seems to enjoy mocking people attempting to stop her as well. Reading her backstory, it seems she doesn’t care about the Pale Tree or the Sylvari at all. Instead she seems to seek out new knowledge, and pursue her own path.

An interesting thought. What if she were to try disconnecting the Sylvari from the Dream of Dreams and the Nightmare instead, to destroy fate and free her people from the paths determined for them (Wyld Hunt/Dark Hunt)?
Possible, but it doesn’t seem in line with Scarlet’s behavior so far. So far she comes across as insane, anti social, and homicidal. I don’t really see how some lofty goal to free Sylvari fits into that line of thought. That’s not to say that it isn’t possible (in fact, I hope she has a noble reason for her violent behavior), but it doesn’t seem to match the Scarlet we’ve seen so far. That’s also one of my biggest arguments against the “Scarlet wants to destroy the Pale Tree” hypothesis. It’s not impossible, but does it fit the character of Scarlet?

first of all: why would Mordremoth create seed that give birth to a tree which gives birth to unfaithful minions who are not just ignore orders of Mordremoth but they have become heroes of triya and assist other races to kill elder dragons,they are in fact very important to pact because they are immune to corruption((very helpful in orr in some paths of personal story))
now this is very important to notice:there are other pale trees as u will rescue a sylvari whos not from pale tree and he dose not know the pale tree ,he is from another tree and he is not corrupted too.
the nightmare court are in minority and most of sylvari are the most peaceful race in the entire game.
that makes Mordremoth a pretty stupid dragon who not just give birth to his own death but also gave birth to minion that eventually will kill other elder dragons as well.

So you basically want to buy the most expensive armor set out there even though Anet said that that is not the point of jewels.

Well I’m going mostly by DnD logic. And norn heavy armor will be bigger and heavier then a human one so no not really. A norn necromancer never learned to use heavy armor and would thus be ineffective in it. (Arcane spell failure…)
But if you think about it, if you’ve been using heavy armour to train to fight all your life, then suddenly switch to a very much lighter armor, you’ll completely mess up your balance, overswing your sword, overextend your attacks and generally fight like a moron.
So, why not just abandon logic?
Not sure if you ever used a sword or armor before but you usually start trainig with no armor. Gradually you can use chain or plate ( Most people skip leather tunics). So trust me when i tell you you will not mess up your balance or overswing.
Well perhaps some casters have been warriors before they went to the school of magic? So they could very well know how to use plate armor depending on their history.
Sure why not! You could play a renegade elementalist. He/She desterted the army and got into burning things. Still knows how to wear plate.

A lot of people don’t have the initiative to craft ascended gear.

So in gw1 the skill system was really cool. You had to travel far and wide to get all the skills and for the elite ones you had to find bosses, kill them, and then capture the skill.
A lot of people are asking to make stats on ascended gear changeable.
So how about this.
You can craft a single set of ascended armor with the starting stats you want.
Now lets say you crafted a berserker set for your warrior but want to try out a condition damage build. So you set out to find a boss that will drop the right stat combination token. Make these bosses instanced to only you and really hard. (This way you would have a sense of accomplishment and not just farm champion till it drops what you want.) The drop would be guaranteed. Each major region could have its specific stat token and the way you get it would be determined by your personal story options ( Or not. The PS is a bit unused ATM). Maybe add an achievement line with a meta title. Also the weapon/armor would slightly change according to how many combinations you have unlocked.
I would really like to hear your ideas about this system.

When I play dnd we can only RP voices and actions because of the lack of time and resources.
In GW2 you can RP you character mostly by choosing armor and skills. All i said that by increasing the availability of armors that you can equip this experience would be much deeper.

I want my Iron Legion charr engineer to be able to dress like a tank, because if anyone knows how to make good armor, it’s her.
I want my female human (noble) thief to be able to dress in the flowing dresses that light armor provides.
I want my norn elementalist to wear a trenchcoat while tossing out fireballs and lightningbolts.

Untrue. Look around the forum for a bit. A lot of people rp. I personally don’t like the heavy armors. And mobility penalty should be a thing but it’s so hard to balance.
