Why wait for a guild to challenge you. You should go and look for fellow travelers.
However, I do recommend that if you guys go and do GVG to control your spectators. This is a gentleman’s game outside of the normal WVW thing where opponents can be civil and hopefully be friends. Who knows, might play together in the same server in the future or something outside of the game.
If you walk into WvW you’re fair game. No kittens given about your GvGs or duels. If you want to hold hands, go PvE.
And this is why SoR has no good GvG guilds.

To SoR, I don’t know if you guys are taking it easy on us and TC, but I think with transfers open again, you guys have one hell of a match coming up with BG. BG is currently trouncing JQ and DB and their points are nearly equal to yours even though you are fighting two very weak servers in comparison to JQ and DB(JQ especially). This morning BG was ticking 525 :O
Sounds great, WvW is always more fun when you’re fighting the uphill battle.

This week was fun at first, and our stand down was well intentioned and not meant to be mocking. Now I don’t ever care to enter wvw. I just want to be in a different match up and I don’t even care if the feeling is mutual. Good luck to you guys, hopefully we won’t see each other next week.
I am not suggesting any 2v1 or anything but if BG can pull away from JQ, you guys are within a few points of toppling SOR from first place with regards to the glicko rating.
edit: All you need is TC to keep up the fight.
These are just my views, but #1 and #2 rating is rather meaningless, particularly when it’s so close. The reasons BG is gaining rating and SoR is losing rating have to do with random chance, which really invalidates the difference. The only way it will matter to me is if BG beats SoR in a direct match and overtakes the #1 rating spot. Otherwise it’s just Glicko silliness.
I won’t argue this. It is meaningless, but it would be fun to tweak their nose about it if you are matched up this next week. Think chess. you can set up your troll this week and be a step ahead next week :P
Why would a commander move out early when people from his/her guild are still coming in to rally up? I know many of SOR’s guilds are already handicapping themselves to make this match up more even and fun for everyone from logging early to running upleveled necro/mesmer groups instead of their mains . If you want such perfectly even fights may I recommend spvp.
This fight is lopsided in TC’s favor. They activated Monster Coast this match up!
All we can do is hide behind walls and stack 10 arrow carts at every gate to keep the boogie man out! I just wish TC would just give us a chance. We may have to upgrade to 20 arrow carts if this keeps up.
Why aren’t rangers able to wield rifles? Isn’t it logical for an ranger that roams the forest and hunts down deers for food, being able to use an rifle? Im satisfied with the current weapon selections, but isnt it just obvious that rangers could use the rifle if warriors can too, engineers of course. but why not rangers? I would like to commend SoR on their level if patience. It must take a lot of patience to wait for enough numbers to show up before they come out of their t3 walled keeps.

Ya takes a while sometimes, everyone is so afraid of the extreme organized killing machines from TC lurking outside the walls. Usually we make sure we have at least a 100 people before we decide to move out. I really can’t wait for this match up to be over so I can fight much less formidable opponents like BG or JQ.

We all know SOR has more numbers than the other 2 servers in WvW.
SOR you guys are great at organizing large amounts of players focusing on one goal,
but sometime when the numbers are semi even come out and play.
you dont always have to wait til you completely outnumber your foe before engaging do you?
So many times we have 10 guys and you have 15+.yet you wont come out and play.only when you have 30+ vs 10 do you finally come out.
Maybe its because you guys run so many glass cannons?
How you dont get bored always fighting lopsided battles is beyond me.

Last night was a good example of every time we have a big PvE release of content. Our WvW population takes a significant dive for a few days.
Our mixed WvW/PvE population is one of the reasons that TC has a great community, but also one of our weaknesses in WvW.
Ya we can run into similar issues, usually it’s not a big deal since everyone suffers a similar loss. I really hate these events but always feel compelled to do them.
What are ANET thinking? You’re the server claiming to have gone easy on us for this week. Maybe if you hadn’t done that, you wouldn’t be in danger of losing 1st…
Obviously those poster you quoted has a different opinion, but I can safely say that there are many of us in SoR that could care less about the actual rating points. If the math to determine rating didn’t get changed, we were going to lose ground against BG no matter how many points we put on the board.
Personally, I think it would do BG some good to regain #1. They are out i droves this week during NA in their current match, which is something that hasn’t happened in weeks.
Those would be the undesirables that only show up during favorable match ups =D
Not sure why anyone is hating in fractals, they are easy enough to bring any class.
Just avoid those groups, full of fail is likely. Rangers do fine in fractals, just bring enough AR.
The BM builds are fine for small man skirmishing and just trying to troll small groups.
It’s the real WvW big group utility we lack. We can’t front line it really, guardians and warriors just do that so much better with WAY more utility.
As a backline fighter we can do traps which are lackluster and our longbow 5 is decent but usually gets us killed and the damage is pretty subpar, necros got wells and eles got static field, water fields, etc, and if specced right using d/d can be great front liners.
My ranger is my favorite character right now, but my main mode of play doing Guild vs Guild and generally WvW combat so I ususally play Warrior or sometimes Guardian.
Well most things said here hold little weight.
If someone /laugh at you from another server, don’t come crying here, pugs are usually the biggest offenders but not always, they just a little ramped up.
As for numbers being offset, this could be a whole lot worse, we decided to take a relaxed approach this week in favor of a more fun match up and began getting ridiculed and if we all push we get ridiculed again. We have a large wvw population, our overall pop isn’t much larger if larger at all than TC.
If you want to complain to anyone, write to Anet, I think we’ve done what we can to make this a closer match up and we really cannot please everyone. So please just try to enjoy the rest of the week and have fun everyone.
yea i noticed right after SoS got SM that TC capped it after, all without much resistance from SoR. it was suprising since SoS has been the server nonstop attacking SM when walls are down/up even.

Just keep in mind that SoR is trying to keep this matchup fun and not to be a blowout. There are quite a few strong guilds and/or players vacationing from wvw this week as we are trying to keep things entertaining for everyone.
And that is not making us feel any better about things.
Well what do you need to feel better? For SoR to Green all the maps and siege up the north supply camps? WeeeEEeee that sounds real fun.
This week is good for us too though, we have a few people running tags for the first time and a lot of new players on the field. We are trying to turn a poor match up into a good fight is all. If SoS was replaced with another T2 or T1 server it would be another story, I do feel TC can compete in that scenario and even give us a run for our money. SO instead of crying about it, take advantage of it and whoop that ass, make us pay for it =D

Yup I am. It’s an awesome server, but trying to get people to cooperate can be pretty frustrating at times. Particularly on TCBL.

With people in teamspeak this is less of an issue but you can usually tell who is not in teamspeak cuz they are the blue arrows the enemy train just ran over.
I never said it was isolated to TC. SOR is just better at getting around it, thus the 70-90 man zergs they s how up with.

gvg within wvw is great fun, no need to add any perks or special maps.
Unless you’re on a more populated server where the GvG matches can be viewed as disruptive and very well can be at times. However most WvW guilds are pushing this in my bracket atm and support each other. It’s a lot of fun but hard to ignore another server ripping all your stuff away while ya do the GvG.
Will be watching team chat… “OMG 50 BG at Hills!!! They got golems!!! HALP they pulled me off the wall, their hitting me now!! oh’ lord it HURTS!!! HALPppPPpP!!!11! OMFG a ranger spiked me!!!! A $#*&#$ RANGER!!! Where is everyone?!?!” Pause GvG match, run to hills, wipe zerg, repair doors, then recommence GvG
Why it is still fun in it’s current state, I’d be all for adding a way for guilds to duke it out off the map. Once concern I’ve read is they don’t want to take people away from WvW. One way to combat this, is make it a weekly pass or something, allow like 2 to 4 passes a week into the GvG area or make it cost influence or something.
Aye, it was a constructive post in my opinion, with these things happening we still GvG during a super competitive tier 1 match up and I did use a made up example that I imagined was happening when I heard people calling enemy movements in /teamchat. =D
It happens, Im curious if we could organize a very short stand down for a match though.
The problem is neither TC nor SoS have any free bodies to spare with SoR’s numbers and constant pressure.
In this match it’s easy for [Choo] to pull 15-20 people out of the fight (hell you guys could take the whole week off) and it won’t much impact your effectiveness on the field but TC and SoS simply can’t afford to do that.
You can say “well everything’s decided” and “points don’t matter” but at least from TC’s perspective nobody likes to see our BL overrun while one of our guilds was circle-jerking (no offense) in a meaningless fight.
I respect your opinion, but don’t feel it is meaningless.
We did these in T1, while wvw was going on, they usually don’t take very long and most people will probably be watching, they can be very exciting.
I do hope that we can get a few set up later in the week maybe. =)

Because I see nothing amazing about their tactics at all. Nothing to make people stop and say “Wow that was really cunning”. Some of their smaller guilds have some decent open field combat but nothing too amazing. Not like those Euro guilds that were in tier1 for a while and completely decimated larger zergs.
Bring it to GvG and find out.

GvG is a fun way for guilds to fight it out without all the siege and number differential. I do really like it, even losing is fine because you can always improve and fight again. It is a good way to try out and share tactics and evolve the open field game.
I hope guilds on SoS or TC would consider the offer at least, or ask questions which I will gladly answer what I can.
But the forum wars make me lose brain cells with every post I read.

This matchup is beginning to suck. When TC and SOS are out in force, its a ton of fun, sadly, SoR as a server just completely outmans those two and its impossible to get in passed the hour+ long queues.
SOR doesn’t really need to have hour+ long queues for this match up. Go grab a beer, or take a walk outside. If you throttle back a bit maybe TC and SoS can field some decent resistance for short bursts. At this rate, though, our WvW pop is going to fall not grow and the rest of the week is going to be even more boring.
Lots of respect to SOR for building up such a great WvW server, but you are going to be bored to death every week from here on out unless you happen to draw BG and JQ. Not sure what the solution is (absent Anet changing the system), but this is the new normal for WvW now.

I don’t see this system lasting too much longer though, I can see doing small shuffles but sending SoS to fight SoR was simply too far. They should really look at this match up sytem again and I feel they will.

Saw a couple TC guilds that looked pretty organized. Definitely send a tell if interested and have questions. SoS or TC that is.
