I’ve had this bug for a long time, but it still isn’t fixed, so…

For my character that finished the personal story, when I scroll down past “Starving the Beast” in the My Story tab, of the Hero panel, all of the text disappears, meaning I cannot see any steps beyond that one.

Dear ArenaNet, please add a downvote option as well so we can downvote all these dumb comments down in the mud so people wont be able to see them.

Some of these comments from other players are pathetic.

The problem with that is that the very same people who make “dumb comments” can downvote stuff. Downvoting on Reddit is so abused (not used the way it is supposed to be), it’s pathetic…but not at all surprising.

Yeah that play now is stupid, it should place you in the populated servers and not the servers with 8 people in them.

I use to click on the servers but I’ve become tired of reading network error on 13/16 games. Even when I click refresh the game is still 13/16 but I CANT JOIN IT FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON!

What I really don’t understand is why it takes so long to report back that a game is full while when I join a game that is not full, it immediately jumps to the loading screen. When it doesn’t immediately go to the loading screen, I know that, under most circumstances, that means the game is full, and yet I can’t join another game until the message pops up. It’s really weird and annoying.

Try thinking of the pick as a cosmetic item that happens to have unlimited charges. Do you expect to be able to swap cosmetic items freely between all your characters?

I can with my endless tonics and costumes and mini-pets (not that the tonics were a gem shop thing.) Had I bought any of the gem store armor or weapon skins, I would not be able to with those. So to answer your question, I’d say it’s a crap shoot.

I bought one for my main. I don’t plan on buying any more. It’s a fun collector’s item and I never have to worry about picks ever again on my main.

I guess, in the interest of disclosure, I should perhaps point out that I bought a Permanent Black Lion Merchant Contract on the trading post, and thus that renders this item a bit more frivolous for me than it would be for most people. I don’t think that really had any bearing on my decision, though.

The pick is more of a collector’s item than something you would buy to get value out of. Eventually, new, higher level nodes will be added, so it’s only a matter of time before the pick becomes obsolete, assuming you stick to current content.

I doubt that. They’d probably bump up the effective quality of it if they added higher level nodes.

That and $10 for a perma pick is pretty stupid…..Ori pick axes are cheap as hell.

I personally buy all my gems with gold anyway. There really is no good reason for me to buy gems with cash, given how much gold I have. (I still do not have enough that 6400 gems is insignificant, obviously.) Of course I know that some people will probably be of the opinion that ArenaNet really could not care less if I buy the stuff or not, then, but actually, the way the gem exchange is set up with the relationship between people buying gems with gold and people buying gems with real money, that’s not entirely true. They want gems to be bought and spent one way or another. (Then again, they technically could change the exchange rates however they want and nobody would really know.)

I’m not saying I would be opposed to paying $10 for one that is account wide. It’s just that it would be pointless for me to do that instead of using my gold. Soulbound, though, I’m not interested in it, either way, for 800 gems.

PvE Leaderboards - Latecomers have no chance.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Signet of Forums.4397

If the only reason you’re doing achievements is the leaderboard, I don’t know what to tell you.

I do things because I want to do them. Where I am on the leaderboard is meaningless. For example, someone who does SPvP and WvW and PVe will always have more points than me. I don’t SPvP or WvW that much, even though I do the dailies every day.

And yeah, I get the achievements I can, because it’s fun for me. Most of them I dont’ really try for like the weapons stuff, or kill 1000 devourers. I know in time I’ll have all of that.

But yeah, I don’t think there’s no reason to do achievements because you can’t top the leaderboard. After all, there are hundreds of thousands of people playing this game….there’ll only be one guy on top of the leaderboards.

Achievements in these games are generally made for players to give them something to do. Not being at the top of the list won’t invalidate them for a lot of people.

Nowhere did I say there was no reason to do achievements if you can’t make the top of the leaderboard. I said the PvE leaderboard will offer little of value to even most of the players who care about such things, as it presents them with an unattainable goal. I am not one of those players. I’m just interested in the features that actually are in the game actually having some purpose more than seeing who has done all the dailies and monthlies since launch. Frankly, I would not care if the feature was not in the game, but if it is there, I think that it should at least be compelling to more than a handful of people.

PvE Leaderboards - Latecomers have no chance.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Signet of Forums.4397

Signet of Forums.4397

No, the difference with those games is that a deficit could always be made up by playing for more hours. There is a hard cap on achievement points, and some of them can only be earned for a limited time. That does not apply to any of those other situations you described, as far as I can tell.

The deficit can only be made up if the people at the top of the leader-board stop playing. There’s no way you’re going to catch up to someone who has racked up over 100,000 kills in CoD or TSW just by playing ‘more hours’ if they continue to play.

Same with GW2. If the people at the top of the leader-board stop playing, you got a chance to catch up over time, since there will still be limited time events that’ll award Achievement points. If not though, then you don’t have a chance. Exactly like every other game with a leaderboard that doesn’t reset.

And sure, you could say reset all achievements, but you’ll get the same situation of someone who is playing now, to someone who’ll start playing 7 months from now.

No, it could also be made up in those other games if those players play less. Contrast with dailies, which are more about frequency of play, rather than duration. I mean, that is kind of the whole point of dailies (but not necessarily of achievement points).

I think I will ignore the boards completely and try to tolerate the braggarts.

Yeah, as I said, I kind of don’t care about them, especially for PvE. I just think if they are going to be there, there should at least be something to work towards for anyone who does care about them. If most of the player base (correctly) thinks, “Well, no matter what I do in the game, I can never be at the top,” that just makes them even more pointless.

Congratulations.

You’ve just described every game with a leaderboard ever.

TSW? You aren’t going to be getting as many kills / missions ect done than someone who played at launch.
CoD? You aren’t going to be racking up as many kills as someone who played at launch.

Would it have changed if they introduced the leaderboard at launch? Nope.

As long as they don’t add any advantage over other players, it’s fine.

No, the difference with those games is that a deficit could always be made up by playing for more hours. There is a hard cap on achievement points, and some of them can only be earned for a limited time. That does not apply to any of those other situations you described, as far as I can tell.

I couldn’t help but think when I heard there will be leaderboards for achievement points, that only people who have been playing since launch or close to it have any chance. The reason is that there are achievement points for dailies. It is impossible for people to catch up on daily achievement points, as long as the people at the top keep doing them. I don’t know if that is intended, but if I understand what the implementation is going to be, there is basically no reason for most people to bother with it.

Again, my issue isn’t that it is, to some extent, just a measure of time spent playing, but rather that it’s going to largely (or even entirely) just be a chart of people who bought the game at or very near launch who did all of the dailies and monthlies. (I mean, people can “catch up” on other achievements.) Personally, not being dedicated enough to ever even bother trying to be at the top,, I am rather indifferent about the whole idea in general. I just think that trying to climb the PvE leaderboards is going to be a moot point for most players who would otherwise care about them if dailies (or other achievements that are only available for a limited time) factor into them. New players will literally have no chance.

take out the listing fee auction house

in Suggestions

Posted by: Signet of Forums.4397

Signet of Forums.4397

Removing the listing fee would make it even easier for people that already have a ton of money to control the market. Why? Because they can buy anything that undercuts their listings by any amount as long as they are confident that those items will sell for more at some point. As it is right now, if people list something for one price and then buy the same item listed at over 85% of their own listing price, they are essentially losing money. Take away the listing fee, and there is little stopping someone from just buying out every listing that undercuts them, unless it’s something that doesn’t move fast enough in the first place.

I had a Flame Turret roast the dirt when I threw it at a Young Karka. Was embarrassing. Being able to throw them at enemies doesn’t do a whole lot if they don’t attack the enemy, after all – nor does being able to repair them do much if they get obliterated moments later. Maybe a cooldown change?

However, it is really nice to finally be able to throw them.

I think that, considering the secondary effects they have upon activation, the cooldowns are about right. Well, maybe rocket turret’s is a little too long. Don’t forget to use those toolbelt skills after they blow up, also.

Just did some more testing with a helpful fellow from SF, it completely removes the explosion if they kill a turret (instead of self-destructing) while deployable turrets is equipped.

Well, it finally works with all turrets, even though it’s currently not in the patch notes. I don’t yet know if any of the other things you pointed out have been fixed. Man, turrets have had so many weird issues.

Predator rifle sound change or bug?

I don’t really understand how someone got it in their heads that changing the looks (or sounds, unless they were just using standard sounds) of legendaries people already have is a good idea. Surely they most have known that some people would be unhappy that the item they spent so much time acquiring is no longer the thing they have.

I think, as was suggested, if you are going to do this sort of thing, then it should just be a toggle on the item. I don’t think you should go changing some of the hardest-to-acquire items in the game on people, unless there is a compelling gameplay reason. It just seems kind of wrong, frankly. Obviously, what is “better,” as looks and sounds go, is always going to be subjective and will vary from person to person. The bottom line is that people worked towards one thing and now they have essentially had it exchanged for something else without their consent.

(I guess that there are probably not many people who will complain about additional particle effects where there were none before, however, though I’m sure even that has its limits.)

For the problem described by NastyNuggetz and Holden, do you have a lot of items in your pickup tab? Remember that gold works the same way items do in the pickup tab. If you have reached your limit, neither items nor gold will be added until you clear it out.

That is really annoying when you deal in a lot of different items and want to put in another buy order for something as you list the current batch, by the way. I’m sure I’ll win little sympathy writing this, considering the general disdain some people have for power traders. (I don’t really deal in precursors, at least as of yet, if that helps. )

So basically this statement itself could shock the precursor market, but it probably won’t because most people won’t read between the lines.

But, let’s assume for the sake of argument that some significant change to precursor acquisition does eventually come. Wouldn’t the market be “shocked” at that point in time, if it was even meant to make any particular difference (and not just the illusion of one) in their ease of acquisition?

It’s already at an abnormal level, so who cares if the answer is negative and the prices go further up?
We can’t afford it now, so worst case is no change^^

Precursors are free if you get them from the Mystic Forge.

Right, because items you put in the Mystic Forge have no monetary value.

That kind of reminds me of how when people say that they are going to go farm some material themselves because they think it is too expensive. The problem with that logic is that by not selling the ones they farm themselves, they are still essentially giving up that amount of money for them (well, minus the15 percent in trading post fees), by choosing to use them and not sell them. I mean, either way they are choosing which they would rather have: the item’s current worth on the market or the item itself, although I suppose a caveat is that putting something on the TP doesn’t guarantee it will sell (or when it will sell, if it does).

Why do ppl hate the Engineer?!

in Engineer

Posted by: Signet of Forums.4397

Signet of Forums.4397

The engineer seems to be far more dependent upon utility skills than every other class. I think that pretty well sums up most engineer issues in a nutshell.

I think the core problem (for those that find the class problematic) was that they had to balance the class around potentially having kits in utility slots. Thus, I think kits should have been implemented differently, like maybe just only allow one, but have it take one of the function key (F1-F4) abilities, instead of the weird thing they have done where you need to take up a utility slot (or possibly the healing slot, if we want to be technical) to have the equivalent of weapon swapping. Obviously, other abilities would probably need to be balanced differently in that case.

Also tied to that point, if you don’t use a kit, you have a whopping three – yes, three – weapon combinations to choose from, and two of those have the same first three skills. As I said, the class is balanced too much around kits. I’d probably be fine with that, if they did not take up utility slots, and instead replaced the engineer’s non-existent weapon swap.

I would guess they probably experimented with various ways of doing it during development. Why the current implementation is what they settled on, I don’t know. It certainly seems far from ideal to me, though.

Any decent builds without a kit?

in Engineer

Posted by: Signet of Forums.4397

Signet of Forums.4397

Decent builds without a kit, it’s nearly like Elementalists wanting builds without Attunements >.> But besides yes, 409 Based condition dual pistols scheme would fit you.

I took another look at my elementalist utility skills and I could not find attunement swapping in there. Turns out that you can have attunements and 3 utility skills besides. I figure I’m probably missing something in this analogy.

Yeah, I know, the toolbelt. The thing about that is those skills are tied to your utility skills, so that doesn’t really do much do address number of “good” build options, which I think is kind of the larger point. Of course, there is also a caveat with attunements, which is that elementalists choose their one weapon set and that dictates all of their weapon skills, which is another game mechanic that kind of bugs me a little, but that’s a topic for another thread.

On the other hand, I look at thief utility skills, and wonder why I would want to use some of them in PvE, ever, so I guess there’s that.

What exactly is an exploit?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Signet of Forums.4397

Signet of Forums.4397

Any exploit that’s a “Jumping Puzzle” and doesn’t specifically bug out is legit in my books. As such I consider the mountain jump in CM legit. Skipping the fire in AC is legit. Standing on top of the ruin so Howling King in AC doesn’t hit you is an exploit.

Legit in your books isn’t legit in ours. The mountain jumping is an exploit since we don’t intend for you to be able to go up there, and it allows you to skip through the natural progression of content we made.
The drakeheads in AC were intentionally made with a cute little workaround, if that’s the other you are implying is okay. I hope that is the issue you are talking about at least, since there isn’t a whole lot of fire in AC.

I hate to have to point this out, but some of the apparently intended paths to get to vistas (which I know are not the same thing as jumping puzzles) necessitate jumping to specific spots up weird inclines that, in the absence of vistas, would otherwise seem like you were never intended to be able to get to.

Yes, obviously bypassing a whole jumping puzzle to get to the end is an exploit. Then again, puzzle chests are rather worthless in my experience anyway (not counting holiday ones, obviously), so I’m not really sure what the point is. Anyway, I’m just saying that it is true that the line between what is an exploit and what is not is very often unclear, even occasionally to the point where something that is intended seems like it could be an exploit.

Further illustrating the point of just how unclear the terrain, in particular, can be at times, one time I went up a rather simple route behind a building (I think it was to try to get to a vista, incidentally), and fell beside the building, and there was a clear flat path from where I was back to the front of the building, but for no apparent reason whatsoever there was an invisible wall there. I had to waypoint out. I filed a bug report and I’m pretty sure that invisible wall has since been removed, but I could not for the life of me comprehend why it was there in the first place. I say this not to deride whoever did it; mistakes happen. I’m just saying that when you run into things like this in the terrain (and I have run into plenty of other oddities), it goes a long way to blurring the lines between what is and isn’t intended. How do I know if something is a “legitimate” path or not when I am occasionally blocked from obvious paths, and hills that look insurmountable that can only be climbed via jumping around until you happen to hit the right spots are the only way to get to vistas? Well, if it involves clipping through objects, it probably isn’t legitimate…but then I have played plenty of games through the years (probably mostly RPGs of various sorts, incidentally) where there were walls that you were intended to go through to find some secret or another.

I want to be clear on something before I go on: I have little tolerance for exploits / hacks / etc. I hate the idea of even using developer-created cheat codes in my single player games, unless I’ve already finished the game and am just looking to mess around. Having said that, I tend to be overly cautious about how to complete content in this game, concerned that anything that is not completely obvious and orthodox might somehow be considered an exploit. This is a result of reading various dev posts in these forums, rather than anything which I have actually encountered in-game. As I said, there are things that are obviously exploits (clipping through terrain…which I have had happen to me on occasion without trying, mind you, as interesting as it was the first time I found myself swimming underneath the ground), but there are just so many cases that are not clear-cut, which I think was the point of this thread.

Attacking enemies where they cannot hit you seems like an obvious thing you would want to do, right? In some games, even, it is the thing you have to do in order to progress. Well, apparently in this game it is considered an exploit. But what is really meant is that is an exploit only if that is not the way that the developers intended their attacks to be avoided, which, aside from dodge rolling, is not always clear. I mean, I would think, “Hey, that boss has a very deadly projectile. I should reflect that. That’s the sort of thing the combat system in this game is about, right?”

But then, some of the bosses arbitrarily just get to ignore my blocking or projectile reflecting abilities or the like with some of their attacks – you know, the ones those abilities would actually be useful against, because they really aren’t very necessary against regular mobs, generally. I can only conclude that certain bosses are exploiting the game mechanics and thus should be suspended.

Yes, that is too small a sample size. Also, people need to give exact numbers of whites, blues, greens, yellows, and (should they be so fortunate) oranges, and not just cherry-pick whatever thing they decide to look at to illustrate their point. Ideally, both runs would be killing the exact same enemies, of course. I know that is not entirely practical, but that is the ideal.

In the case of the OP, there is a very valid reason to change the Display Name and I believe that the team will be able to help him.

On the other hand, we were told that the name would be used on the forums, not in the game. I’m sure some people never even intended to use the forums and thus didn’t think it mattered. It also seems that usually when people makes these claims about some game, it is when something is working against their favor, rather than towards it.

I’m not saying that it could not possibly be bugged in some way, but these sorts of anecdotes are not very good evidence.

Gold seller boasting about precursors

This post is evidence that their methods are effective.

It’s also evidence that crafting legendaries probably should not have been based on highly specific items which are very rare (relative to demand) random drops. It’s not exactly like they would be super-easy to make without that factor added in. I know the topic has been discussed to death and changes are incoming at some unknown point in the future. In light of how “bling” gear was obtained in Guild Wars 1 (like Tormented weapons, for example), I still don’t really understand what the thought process was behind how precursors are currently obtained.

I have to insert a comment on this…. Torment Weapons were one thing, but how about a Voltaic Spear? Amethyst Aegis? A dozen other coveted skins in GW1 that were RNG in end game areas…. Tormented Weapons were probably one of the only non-RNG items that held value for an extended period of time, and their value plummeted during the days of ‘Ursan Way’ when a larger segment of the community had easy access to produce their own. It largely rebounded when it became a HoM eligible item. And not only did you have to RNG a skin, but for real value, you also had to RNG a low req, the right req, and heaven forbid you were working for Zodiac Weapons where you also had to RNG a desired inscription.

GW1 elite items did not have less RNG than legendary items, if anything, they had more.

I figured someone might say something like that, but the thing is that you did not take those items and then do a bunch of other stuff to make them into the thing you actually wanted. I say pick one or the other. It’s kind of senseless to have something be a very rare drop and then on top of that have to do a bunch of other time-consuming stuff to make it into the item you actually want. Anyway, this is kind of off-topic and I don’t want to derail the thread too much. Just my two cents.

Honestly, if you could snag 4x exotic greatswords for any amount of karma…. that would make gambling with the MF for precursors way easier….

Am I supposed to be convinced that would be bad somehow?

Seriously, if precursors are the reason, that is just a really bad reason in my opinion. It is dumb to mess with all other itemization just to keep precursors stupidly hard to obtain. It’s not like a legendary weapon is easy to make even if you have a precursor, anyway. It’s just one of several barriers. If I’m supposed to care that the price of precursors would not be sky high, as if that would be a bad thing, I don’t.

The Orrian Jewelry Boxes are an amusing concept, but I’d still like to see a somewhat more definite line of advancement from non-coin-currencies we have towards the Lodestones we want.

Even if it’s a lot more expensive, I will take certainty over randomness anyday.

I get the general sentiment, but I’m sure there exist some thresholds past which that is no longer true.

Dynamic events. Dynamic events. Dynamic events. How much did we hear about dynamic events leading up to the game’s launch? As I see it, there were two major features that were touted as setting Guild Wars 2 apart from the rest of the MMO pack: dynamic events and the more action-oriented (and free of holy trinity) combat system.

Fast forward to level 80. A player gets to Orr and eventually comes across one of the karma vendors offering level 80 exotic gear in exchange for karma. Great. But…wait a minute…they just have armor.

“/m Hey, where do I get exotic weapons with karma?”

“You don’t.”

“I don’t? What am I supposed to do with all this karma then?”

“Work on your legendary.”

“Yeah, have you seen the precursor prices? No thanks.”

“I don’t know, then. Bake?”

“Bake?”

“Yeah, you can buy cooking ingredients with karma. Go bake some stuff.”

“…”

So exactly why cannot exotic weapons be purchased with karma when exotic armor can? I’ve no idea. I’d love to hear the reasoning behind that.

And now of course we have ascended items. Can those be obtained with karma? Not as far as I can tell. Nope, just run fractals every session, I guess. And now we’ve got a new way to obtain them, as they said there would be…that uses a currency that has a very low hard cap on how much you can earn over time. God help you in your quest to get gear with the best stats (which was supposed to be easy in this game, remember) if you actually play a lot of alts.

Hey, guys, remember karma? Remember dynamic events? What happened? I know it can’t be that hard to throw an NPC in somewhere that sells ascended items for some crazy amount of karma, so that can’t be it…

This post is evidence that their methods are effective.

so instead of adding propper anticheat/bot protection

adding scavenegerhunt fixing bugs and so on you rather make sarcastic comments in such a thread

maybe check some goldsellsites out they sell legendaries for good hard dollar/ euro and pretty sure they got enough customers

seems as long you guys make enough money of gembuyers you dont give a chicken how the playerbase feels

now fanboys go on or some mod delete close this

love this game but dont like the communication/ attitude of anet employees

I’m sure they have plenty of constantly evolving anti-bot protection. You can never really win the war against botters, though. They will always come up with new methods, as long as there is money to be made there. All they can do is ban them as they come up and try to get people to engage in better account security practices.

As for why people are allowed to teleport all over the place (which I assume must abuse some rather liberal latency correction code) without being flagged and reviewed immediately, that I don’t know, although I actually have not seen much of that lately, so maybe they are now.

As more people get to higher levels (and more people play dungeons, which have pretty substantial money rewards compared to most activities), more people have more money to burn. I believe that at launch, it was something like 40 silver for 100 gems, but that is because most people were low level and people do not make much money at low levels. Since about mid-December, the price of gems has hovered within the same range. The price also fluctuates a little bit throughout the day and also tends to go up on weekends. There was also a recent spike when some gem shop items went on sale. ArenaNet tends to do something that causes the price to spike once or twice a month (sales or special in-game events that include new items), so expect that to happen fairly routinely.

As for legendary weapons specifically, one of the biggest issues is that the precursor items needed to craft them seem to have very low drop rates. Actually, I don’t know if they are lower than other level 80 exotics, but naturally they are in higher demand than most of them. There has been vague talk from some of the devs in these forums about doing some kind of time consuming “scavenger hunt” where people can obtain precursors as a rewards, but apparently they are still ironing out the details. Don’t expect that for some time. Personally, I would say just enjoy the game and don’t worry about it too much for now. While cool and providing something for people with money to burn to blow it on, having different weapon effects isn’t really going to change the game much for anyone or make it more fun once the initial novelty wears off. You’re better off focusing on dungeon armor / weapons or mystic weapons or something like that which is more readily obtainable. And let’s face it: Part of the reason a lot of people covet the most expensive legendaries is that they are so far out of reach in the first place.

Jumping Puzzles as Norn and Charr

The only problem I have is that (as you said) the JP’s weren’t meant to be “real content”, but as a bonus.

Now, they’re suddenly required to finish a monthly.

If they’re required, they should be tweaked or repaired so that all races can have a true chance to do the puzzles without the player becoming outrageously annoyed and frustrated due to things the player has no control over.

Or they shouldn’t be required to be done…ever…as they are “bonus” content only.

Thank you for your consideration in this.

Actually, the way that monthly worked was odd. You only needed to “discover” them. For some it meant finishing them, but for others all you had to do was get somewhere near the entrance. Also, you could “discover” the same one with multiple characters and I’m pretty sure that you could re-“discover” the same one with the same character each new day (when dailies reset). That achievement was odd all around.

I wasn’t too fond of that as part of the monthly achievement either way, but I just figured I’d clarify that. I guess I’ll still take that over needing to play tournament games for the PvP monthly. I have never finished a PvP monthly because I have zero interest in tournament games, at least for now. I just like my PvP a bit more laid back (and ideally with less drama), I guess.

No. All characters have identical collision and hit boxes. The only difference they have on the system side is the camera target, and that is what causes all the trouble in JP race discrepancies. If they didn’t then you would be staring at your Norn’s butt all day, or only see the very top of your Asura’s head.

If I may jump in on that issue, it would be nice if camera height could be adjusted, mostly because I have occasionally run into issues playing as an asura ranger in WvW that seemed to be due to the lower camera.

That aside, this has been an informative and interesting thread.

The Battle of Claw Island Trebuchet Bug

Looks like my first post is about another bug, I apologize. From the sound of the original post, do you have “Fast cast ground targeting” turned on in options? If so, it’s trying to fire at your mouse cursor.

I know I’ve said this before, but the trebuchet in that mission that I know about does not use mouse targeting. It is charge-and-release, like the ones in the Battle of Kyhlo.

Do you have “Fast cast ground targeting” turned on in options? If so, it’s trying to use the mouse cursor as your target, and depending on where you have the cursor, it might not be a valid target.

Don’t trebuchets not use mouse targeting at all? Aren’t they [1-aim left, 2-hold down to fire, 3-aim right]?

Hello everyone.

Just a quick note about this kind of attitudes and how to report them: if you think you have witnessed an unfair in-game episode and you would like the team to revise the players that took part in it and the situation, you can also proceed to report to our Customer Support team using the in-game ticketing system (screenshots and details -place, hour of the incident, etc- about the event would be desirable).

Just remember that like we don’t permanently ban anyone on the forums for first time offences, the same goes in-game. The more you report, the better the game world will be.

Thanks.

I reported a group for arbitrarily kicking people (me and apparently at least one other person) at the end of Tixx’s Infinirarium once and I was basically told that, while those player were jerks (paraphrasing, obviously), they did not violate any rules by using the votekick system and thus there wasn’t anything they could do about it.

I also cannot for the life of me comprehend why the party chat log disappears when you leave a group. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any other game do that.

Option to delete/hide Personal story prompt.

in Suggestions

Posted by: Signet of Forums.4397

Signet of Forums.4397

You might be surprised at how many problems that might cause. “Fast cast ground targeting”, for example, is an option you have to turn on under Options, but I regularly see posts from players who can’t figure out why siege weapons won’t work for them. (It’s trying to target their mouse cursor.) If you click on the title line for story steps, meta events, etc., it will hide all of the objectives. You’ll still have the green step title, but it will clear some of the clutter.

I think that’s different, because it’s people not making the connection between that option and siege weapons. They were just considering regular combat skills when checking it. (I actually think those should be two separate options, although I know you are reluctant to add clutter to the options menus.)

Anyway, how about if you could turn off the personal story prompt and the green map markers for just the current session? After all, you can hide the entire UI, and that is even more of a problem, considering that the options menu won’t even show up when the UI is hidden. (I have actually accidentally turned off the UI before. Don’t ask. Well…it had to do with me rebinding a lot of keys.)
