It’s like, “here’s the entire game in 4 1/2 minutes” 0.0
Love the music.
This would make for a great Halloween screen shot without all the names and chat cluttering it up: http://youtu.be/8CCyzENmqYU?t=1m14s

No Gifts? No Joy?
Seriously though, its hard to believe that this will be our third Christmas in Tyria already!!
What others have said, this game is visually stunning. Unfortunately, I do find the customization slightly limiting in comparison to my last MMO but it is still far better than most.
GW2 does do a good job with it’s cosmetics, however, I still feel limited when I compare it to DC Universe Online. Although GW2’s armors, character models, etc. look much, much better than DCUO’s, DCUO also had far, far more options to customize. I dislike that I need transmutation charges to change my looks for instance, or make-over kits to change my face, or that I can’t simply choose from a dye wheel to pick the colours I want for my equipment. They have a lot of things locked down so that we can only customize so much. I’m not saying it’s bad and I still very much enjoy what we can do in GW2. I just feel like we’re being limited to a very small area of creativity for really no reason at all. I feel like I could do so much more with my characters if we weren’t forced to use/do certain things. Still, I agree… GW2 is a beautiful game from it’s character models to it’s hand painted loading screens. I just… Dream of more sometimes.
Like you and many others, I find it frustrating to have to buy transmutation stones and other items with gems to customize my characters, but I am totally okay with this. After all, GW2 has to make money somehow to keep itself going. My last MMO was free-to-play but pay-to-win. People literally had to spent thousands of dollars to be competitive at end-game but with GW2 I feel absolutely NO pressure to spend real life money to be competitive. There is nothing in the gem store that one HAS to buy to play the game, its all basically cosmetic (or offers some small convenience like extra bag space or permanent harvesting tools). For this, I have a LOT of respect for GW2’s financial model. It allows everyone to be competitive without having to spend real money beyond purchasing the game.
It’s a bit ironic that how he kept on bashing the boring Berserker Meta while if you watched the videos we can see how boring the “tank meta” would be, there would be no need of reflects, no need of dodges, no need of stealth, half the GW2 mechanics would be dumped down the trash, everyone just run full Nomads gear and facetank and outsustain it, absolutely no risk.
Or he would rather do the Holy Trinity where the tank do all the work and 3 DPS just spam 1? Because that would make PvE a lot more fun right
WTH!? Did you even watch the video? Your criticism makes absolutely no sense in context of what WoodenPotatoes ACTUALLY says in the video. He does not “[keep] bashing the boring berserker meta” as you put it; he is not advocating for a “tank” meta; nor is he suggesting Anet adopt the Holy Trinity. He is simply messing around with builds to demonstrate that there is a “foundation” in place for Anet to make changes to the game that would help make the gameplay more dynamic. He even states OUTRIGHT that the build he is using is not “viable”. This is just a editorial about his perception that Anet should make the gameplay more dynamic so that alternative builds to the berserker meta become more viable.
I can only assume one of the following:
1. You did not watch the video (or if you did watch the video, you did not bother to LISTEN to what he is saying)
2. You linked the wrong video for us to watch
3. You are referring to additional videos that are not linked
4. This is some personal vendetta to troll WoodenPotatoes

Just seemed appropriate for this thread. Some lovin’ for Bearbows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qjRFYu2Gcs
Hi all,
I just got my first ascended weapon chest drop ever. Unfortunately, its for a rampager weapon. According to the inscription, it allows you to choose your own type of weapon so I want to give this chest to a character that can make the most out of rampager stats. I play all 8 classes but have no experience with using rampager gear. Thus, I was hoping someone more knowledgeable might offer some insight concerning which class can benefit the most from using rampager gear. I realize that with this game everything is situational, so any context would be helpful like if you are referring to pve or pvp.
Thanks for any input on the matter. Have fun!
Think of it in terms of a reward for managing to stay alive. If you are down and out, well, you should be treated as if you ARE down and out. I can understand how it could be frustrating but you can always have fun running the dungeon again. Seriously though, is there not enough pointless QQ on the forums already? * sigh of exhaustion *
Wow, those are visually stunning. Awesome work. I particularly like the abstract nature of the 3rd picture and the 3D qualities of the 4th picture, so well done.
So cute! Gotta ask though, is that a ghost of a bunny in the background?
Poor bunny
lol
Your post made me think of this: http://youtu.be/hUUZVJgvwHc?t=24m45s
FYI The book she is reading from is this one: http://www.amazon.ca/Guild-Leadership-Jeon-Rezvani/dp/1435739558
Yes, its a real book lol. I dont image you are interested in reading it, but thought I would share anyways.
I also just found this one: http://www.amazon.ca/The-Guild-Leaders-Handbook-Battle-Scarred/dp/1593272588
Maybe I should write one too ^.^

Firstly, welcome to the game!
1. “opinions about the game” – Only yours matters (I will say though that I have been here since day 1 and I am still enjoying it)
2. “opinions about the class” – Only yours matters (however, I have played necro a little and it can be a lot of fun. I find the class more dynamic than many of the others. Necros have historically had a bad rep as one of the more useless classes but they seem to be getting more respect nowadays).
What I wish I had known when I hit 80:
1 – First, get a set of rare knights or soldier’s armor from the TP. It won’t cost too much and you can always salvage it later for ectos to recover a good portion of your money. I suggest Knights or soldiers armor as these options will give you good survivability while you learn to run dungeons for the first time. Also, rare armor will provide you with decent enough stats to be a “useful” member of the party.
2 – Next, run CoF path 1 and 2 daily until you can get a full set of exotic berserk armor with tokens. This way you get your exotic armor fast and virtually free. You may want to try out other types of armor later on but you will likely always want to have a set of berserk armor with you at all times so CoF is a good place to start for your first set.
I don’t personally recommend getting your exotic armor using karma as I consider this an unnecessary use (waste) of karma. Plus, karma armor cant not be salvaged (though I think it can be used in the MF). I also don’t recommend getting exotic armor/weapons with badges of honor through EOTM farming as these cannot be salvaged either.

Awesome work! I always like watercolour paintings, it is such a great medium. I particularly like the shading of the dark, ominous background. Well done.
If you are interested in some constructive feedback, I think the composition could be worked better to the advantage of the story. That is to say, the size and position of the moon tends to lead the eye away from the central story which (I assume) is the crafting of the Anomaly. The moon looks really great but it is too much competition for the viewer’s attention.
Also, it might help the viewer to better distinguish between the Anomaly and the Asura’s garments if there was a bit more contrast in colours to separate the two.
Hope to see more pictures

Very well done!!
Love the song, great editing, and a fun story fit for the holiday.
It is particularly impressive how well you managed the pace of the editing and the storyline to match the pace and progression of the song.
Thanks for sharing. Hope to see one for Christmas!

The first thought that came to mind when I saw your pictures was, “I found Waldo!” lol
Cookies lookin’ good too
Sounds like we are similar in our enjoyment of the game. I am not guided in my game-play by the single-minded need to accumulate wealth and end-game gear like so many gamers are. Rather, I take the greatest pleasure in just enjoying the amount of detail and work that has gone into designing this game. I will often just randomly roam around the world looking into every nook and cranny to appreciate the detailed artistic quality of the game. Your wonderful pictures provide perfect examples of how amazing this game looks. Thanks for sharing them!
That was brilliant! Thanks for sharing it with us. The nature of the story and some of its content leads me to suspect that you are a Terry Pratchett fan as well, lol.
I hope you have plans to do more in the near future.
OMG How have quaggan backpacks not hit the real-life market yet!?! lol (Great idea on your part Meani)
If they were available on the market, I would definitely get them for my 3 young god-children (okay, I only have 2, the third one is for me).
Your costumes also look wonderful. You must have put a lot of work into them. Hope you had a good time at the Gamescom.
