Does anyone have any solo PvP builds? I’ve tried burn and spirit weapon builds but didn’t find them to effective. Anyone got anything?

Hey Forums, So I got this brand new computer, (customized), and everything in it is well past perfect to run guild wars on. But for some reason, my browsers and guild wars constantly disselect themselves and guild wars minimizes every 30 seconds? Does anyone know the cause of this? I’ve ran all malware anti viruses and nothing comes up, turned off windows problem reporting… Basically everything that I’ve come across on forums with people who have similar problems and nothings working. Please help! Other than this guild wars runs in HD and plays fine.

Hey Forums, So I’ve just started having a problem with GW2. I finished my custom desktop last night, new power supply 700w, 1g graphics card, and a wireless chip. But now it seems to be minimizing my game while I’m playing? It won’t close the client out but it just minimizes me to the desktop screen and I can reopen it by just clicking on it.. But it does this every 2 or 3 minutes? The problem with this is when I’m doing dungeons or PvP I can’t be dealing with this.. Does anyone know why this might be happening or if anyone else has experienced this in the past? If you can help I appreciate it!

Ok that sounds good! I’ll do that for my next video, (check out my new thread), I actually ran a tournament early with my team and we went undefeated in all 3 matches, shoulda been recording that hhahaha!

Please don’t suggest any kit builds because I refuse to use them and I don’t really like the rifle either. Ok now I appreciate that more. I wasn’t trying to hide anything, if it came off that way, I’m sorry but I didn’t have bad intentions. Like I said in a few previous replies, I made this video to just show that the engineer isn’t an underpowered class like people think, and I think I backed that idea up with this. And yes, Ik I didn’t film it in higher FPS, it was my first video on my new mac and I’m still getting use to it but I will definitely change the quality for my next go around so people actually know whats going on. Thanks for the feedback

Hmmm… My only problem with that is I hate the rifle.. Is this viable in a P/P build? That’s really my choice of weapon.

Hey Forums, working on a new build atm and I just wanted to get a few experienced engi’s opinion on this question.

Are there any better combinations for utilities skills 6,7 & 8 other than elixirs but NOT kits?

Currently running Condition/Boons/Might Stacking with P/P but wanting to think of a new possible combo. Any and all suggestions appreciated!

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. My traits are pretty well off at this point though but I can mix and match for more burn damage and uptime which I might try looking into.

I still think I’ll stick with P/P for now. Seems to work out in tPvP and WvW as well, as I have been trying them out since reading all the comments and I seem to be just as good in tPvP than I am i sPvP. Maybe I’ll give shield a go in the future but for now I’m having fun with an off hand pistol

Thanks for all the replies guys and I’ll look into each one. Personally I like burning and stun locking the most and my traits are made for condition damage/duration and burning.

Oh ok yeah, I never ran shield because I don’t take any class that isn’t heavy armor seriously when they try to tank lol. But I’ll look into that, thanks.

@NevirSayDie I appreciate that. I try my best to make the class as efficient as possible. And yes anyone can kill anyone with any build, but it’s how you build it that makes the differences.

@Tyaen Yeah I’ll look into exchanging C for U, but I find it hard to pay attentions to all my elements while in a fight, such as my conditions, health, endurance, ect. But yes your very right if I use elixir C I should USE it, lol. But I do use the tool belt skill more than the actually one for a matter of fact. I have a problem with big groups sometimes as well but I just try my best to kite back and let the soldier classes do front lines, but when I do have big groups on me I really try to maximize my use in skills 3 and 5. How are P/S builds? Never tried it.

The engineer class is made for utilities, mechanics, bombs, grenades, and marksmanship…. Why would they put a hammer for a weapon when that goes completely against the point of the class?

I choose not to share my traits because as I said it’s my own custom build and I don’t want people to be exactly how I am. I share my skills with you though for more of a guide line for anyone who wants to roll a condition/buff build. And options aren’t always bad.. Maybe someone will discover an even better build than I currently use. But for your question on runes, sigils, and necklace I will answer those.

Runes: 2 runes of Lyssa for the 10% condition duration & 4 runes of the Nightmare for condition damage and 10% more condition duration (20% more duration). Sigils I use superior Earth and minor corruption but this is very optional. Necklace and gear outside of the Mists is all Rabid or you can mix and match but I enjoy rabid because it’s precision, toughness, and condition damage.

Again, sorry I’m not sharing traits but the main point of my video was not to give you guys a build but to show you that the engineer isn’t an underpowered class like everyone says it is.

Hey guys I just have a quick question… Do conditions hit harder if your enemy has vulnerability stacked? I’m wondering because my engi is a full condition build and if it does make the conditions hit harder than it’ll change my trait tree completely. Thanks if you reply!

Your right, and I have played this build longer than 15 minutes now. I’ve PvP’d for about 3 hours so far and it still stood it’s ground. Largely unkillable by warriors and guardians via stun locks and kiting, mesmers are easy because they can’t handle conditions, the only main class I really have a problem with is…. Well… None.. This build is very good PvP and PvE. With all the people saying Engi is the most UP class in the game and then using this build, I can say for a fact that isn’t true. Try it out!

This is a PvE/PvP Roamer as I said. Focuses on Kiting, Condition damage/duration, and Boon durations/might staking. Gear is Rabid from CM dungeon and jewelry is Rabid as well. Runes are 2 runes of Lyssa and 4 runes of the Nightmare. Dual Pistol with Sigils of minor corruption & superior earth.

This build is amazing at kiting and you will have an uptime of swiftness around 70-85% in AND out of combat. Boon durations will be at about 85-95% uptime in combat and might staking will bring your condition damage up amazingly. This build is perfect for people who don’t like kits, (I find them extremely boring), and who want to laugh at mobs as they just strave them and watch them die

-ALSO- For all you PvP players… I used this build in PvP for about 15 minutes and in sPvP I rocked a warrior, elementalist, and ranger with ease.

Traits – 0/30/20/20/0

You may ask me why I didn’t take 30 points in Alchemy for ‘H.G.X’ for the might stacking… There’s a method behind the madness. If I use only 20 instead of 30 this will let me have 20 points in Inventions for the 10% speed buff when in combat… This is very important for kiting via this build is only good if your kiting. Soooo, betting kiting > might stacking. Anyways, Check it out!

Hey guys so I’ve made my second Alt account now that I’ve gotten my main maxed out in exotics and I can’t begin to tell you how much I’m enjoying the class… At first I was hesitant because guildies/friends told me it was the most confusing class but I think I’m getting pretty use to it at level 9… But I do have a few questions. I saw a youtube video of a ele solo’ing Kohler and he had dagger/dagger so I’m using those atm.. First question is this: How do I use the trait tree? Looks so confusing and I don’t understand any of it. I choose air for my main element but idk if that helps. If someone could please give me some BASIC tips on the traits and how they work, I’d appreciate it. A build post would be greatly appreciated too! Thanks

Hey Forums, I’ve recently posted a few thief posts as I have started my second account after maxing out my main in exotics. I’ve gotten to level 14 on it, and I just feel so under powered…. I can probably say I get downed in a fight if I have more than 2 enemies on me and I’ve tried every weapon combo.. Is this just from being so low and not having traits yet or am I doing it wrong? The thief is such a popular class IMO so idek how this class is played if I AM doing it right…. Help please?

I posted last night about what I’m looking for in my thief because I’ve just started one, (currently level 5), and I’m trying to find the best build for PvE/Dungeon survivability. I love playing support in dungeons and being able to take mobs in PvE. WvW and PvP aren’t even important to me. Survivability is my MAIN focus. Please reply if you guys can give me any tips! Thanks

Hey Forums, I have just made my first thief on guild wars because I finally hit level 80 and got full exotics on my main but I have NO idea about how this class works at all! I looked at the trait tree and skills and didn’t understand the half of it… (My main is a guardian). What I do know is only what I’ve heard from fellow guild members and friends and from what I’ve gathered I think I might know what type of build I want to roll, or at least start with to get use to the class. If you guys could help me out I’d very much appreciate it ^.^. So anyways, what I find will be most important to me on my thief is very good survivability. I also like conditions more than I like DPS, and I really wanna be able to hold mobs in PvE and be able to stand my own in dungeons. So basically what I think I’m looking for is a nice survivable PvE/Dungeon thief… If anyone knows a good build for me I’d love for you to post it so I can check it out, like I said I don’t know anything about the class yet so any tips would be nice as well! Hey guys, so I’ve bought another 800 gems for one of my characters and right after buying them, (2 nights ago), I can’t seem to open the currency exchange tab in the trading company…. Everything else works just not the one thing I need atm. Does anyone know of other ways to currency exchange or how to fix this? Please help!

Alright Soon-To-Be fellow warriors here is my plan! I have decided to roll a warrior for my second class because I have FINALLY geared out my first level 80 toon! Sooo I’d like some feedback on this but no trolling please because I promise I can troll harder <3. But anyways, what I plan on doing in this: Build the most tanky warrior build with long-range weapons, AKA Longbow and Rifles! If it’s as successful as I hope it’ll be it’ll be powerful enough to stop mobs before they even get to me and if they do I’ll just tank all the damage Short and Simple. Feedback on ideas for this pl0x~

Navi yes, I thought about it. But as I said ‘In Depth’ meaning if anyone knows of builds or more details about how to run the class with it, It could change my mind. Don’t wanna waste my time maxing out another character if it doesn’t offer me what I want to begin with so I posted again or reassurance or more information from people who have possibly ran a class like that.

Norns have animal-changing abilities, Hunters have animals in general, NO MORE ANIMALS IN THIS GAME! HORRIBLE IDEA. Nuff said.
