If it’s not in game it’s not in work. I don’t believe a single word from arenanet anymore, only what’s in game count.
There are spots, and there is this game exploit. Don’t be offended, exploits just been permitted by arenanet.
Indeed, there are the ways you describe, and there is this game exploit. If you found an exploit to drop an ascended chest each mob killed, you couldn’t say that it would be the same thing that the lucky game drop. It would still be a game exploit, but we now know that arenanet permit them.
No it is a scholar exploit of unintended game mechanism. Now we know that game exploits are legit. The red that posted here is tagged “Game Security Lead”, so he endorse exploits, and by him arenanet does. They just have to change their term of service now.
I got back an ascended piece that I accidentally destroyed. I detailed the exact hour/date on the ticket, it took like 2 weeks but they did give it back.
So an exploit of game mechanisms is legit. Maybe you should change your term of services and “legalize” it ?

There was a CDI, so there won’t be raids. CDI on a subject = subject never develloped.
Excuse for new player (you take months old players for new player it seems but whatever) is just a lie. If a player couldn’t make the old gem store work, it means he couldn’t even power on his computer, and less use it, or use a mouse or a keyboard. He couldn’t even eat or drink alone.
I’d like to know too what rewards you were talking about.
My solution : Revert the change or add a custom selection.
To avoid future mistake, blame the higher manager that let this change pass (salary cut/downrank/no profit shared). Management is about to take responsabilities, this guy have to take it.

Indeed they have nothing big to announce. Their big project for the last 6 months is a new mini-map for the LS. Arenanet is 350 employees and do the work of a 10 man devs team.

I mean that if there is a CDI on a subject, it means that you don’t work on it, or plan to work on it, or is even on your internal roadmap. So we know we won’t have guild halls, gvg and raids for at least 2015, and that you maybe will discuss the subject internally in 2016. That’s why i’m curious to see the subjects of CDI, because we won’t have them in long term and probably never. We don’t know what you do and what you will implement in the next months, at least we know what you don’t do with the CDI.

A good thing that I like is that the game is stale and don’t evoluate. Cause arenanet left it since launch, you can come back after 2 years and feel at home when near nothing has changed or been added.

As stated many, many times before, absolutely nothing in the CDI’s should be taken as a promise of any feature to come. These are simply here for us to talk with the developers over ideas we have for the game, nothing more.
So, don’t expect guild halls just because we’re having the discussion. Of course, it will be a nice surprise when/if they show up, but just having the discussion does not automatically mean they will be implemented.

That’s why I said “from the work they done since launch”. Only thing sure is that they merged the 4 ls teams into one. They also gave up on the bi-weeks shedule ; for this year it will be an average 1.5-2 months for each ls release.
I don’t believe there is a www/pvp or balance team. The scarce work done since launch show that it is only a 1 man work at most. There is no class design team either, there is nothing new to class.
Some bugs are still here since launch and won’t ever be addressed. They don’t even clean their 6 months work feature patch from major bugs (see bugged collections).
The only seen work done is from the ls team, the gem store team, and what I call an UI team (wardrobe, collections, that’s only UI tweaks). I don’t believe there are other teams that never show their work since launch. If these teams exists, their work never went to live game since launch. So I think they don’t exist, it would be too sad and a shame otherwise. I guess there is no engine team either (see condition max stack).
From the work done since launch, we know they have :
- a LS team
- an ui team
- a gem store team
We know they don’t have :
- a dungeon team
- a class design team
- a balance team
- a www/pvp team
- a bug hunting team
I’d really like to know what it is working on in arenanet. I don’t care about CDI, that don’t tell us anything and we know that we won’t see what’s in their post. At most we will have a scrap of the cheapest suggestion ( see cm tags).
Yes their policy is “don’t say a thing until it is ready”, so nothing had been ready since launch. What are they doing ? What are they working on ? Can a manager look at the work done at this instant and say we will never see this work finished ? That the 300 workers that we don’t know what they do won’t ever see their job done ? That they will be moved before finishing their project to another project that won’t be finished, and bis repetita ?
So, what is really advanced that you can tell us ? You said you’ll communicate, but for the moment idc what you said, i want to know what we will have for the year to come.
Noone in their right mind would fight with a sword against rifles. Want to abolish sword too ?
And the worst is that the LS team is really proud to take another 4 month break that will bring us a new mini-map. They rotate on a 1 month work / 3 month break. What is arenanet doing with their 350 workers ? Why we only see a small team work after 2 years ? Where is something that derail in this big company ? Where is the mark at how the work of these 350 workers is never seen ? What is happening in this studio ?
I really can’t understand why they stopped working on their game after the launch. They made a great game and didn’t want to expand it. What are they doing in their office ? What did they do for the past 2 years ?
They said that it would be unoticed individually. But as a big group of players, where the big numbers count aka black lion, we can see the difference. Silk Scrap already rose up by 50c. GJ anet again.
The op discussion was not if gw2 is a good game, we are all here because we think it is good. The discussion was that most devs at arenanet seems to have stopped working after the launch 2 years ago.
The only way a game can really survive today is to launch early and to be good enough to play catch up. That’s what Guild Wars 2 has done. It’s good enough to play catch up, because they got so much basic stuff right.
It’s true that MMO’s launch unfinished and have to finish the game live. Even with that, much smaller teams catch up and push new contents at same time, and do it better, faster and less buggy than gw2. Arenanet is a shame in the amount of development done since launch. The only other exemple I have that made so few content and work is warhammer online. They are a big team, so they have huge problems in their way of work.
In two years they don’t even meet the standards update of some generics and basics f2p. Most of these that have a way smaller team release some sort of expansion-like content in 2 years. Anet has a huge development problem.
Downgraded greatly QoL with this simple adjustment. GJ anet, again.
Seriously ? I will now have to type all the price for all the items I sell, instead of changing one number or nothing at all ? What’s with all these QoL downgrades with this patch, day after day ?

Chris, you may be proud, but there’s been an uproar lately with the latest changes. You’ve also ignored the many complaints about the last ‘feature pack’.
I know you’re required to say those PR things, but are you honestly proud of the amazing team? These guys haven’t even put out half the content other teams managed to, and that’s having taken into account the many skins from the gemstore.
Yes absolutely I am proud of this team. I am sorry that you don’t agree.
This group of ladies and gentlemen has put out amazing content at an amazing rate.
And no i am not talking any PR I am a developer.
So to be clear, yes i am proud of this team, i am proud of our work, i am proud of how we support each other, i am proud of how much we care for the game and the community. You can twist that statement as much as you like but that is my stance.

This is what I’d like you to communicate to us : their work. What they did the last 6 month, or the last year, or the last two years. Here is an example of what I’d like, let’s say the last 6 months :

- LS 2.0 part 2
- LS 2.0 part 3
- LS 2.0 part 4
I can’t provide another example because I don’t know if it exists another full team, but you got the thing I’d like. Show us with these details, by team, the work that you are proud of, because we can’t always see their work in the game. Make us proud too.

As has been said, several times already, most of the level gating issues are unintended bugs and will be dealt with as quickly as possible.
A 6 months patch. Not tested so, if they have these so obvious bug ? I think that they just can’t say that they screwed, and try to pass their mess as bugs.
EDIT below : you said there was obvious bugs, that the dev team stated them, for a patch prepared during 6 months. I won’t screen your post this is absurd.

Maybe by choice ? Our characters don’t even chose what their friends are. They just stand here, seeing the story you push without having the littlest grasp on it.
The game is really nice and worth the price. Us trolls just don’t like the nothingness coming from the dev team since release, but before that date they made a great enjoying and enjoyed work. And I think being happy or unhappy has nothing to do with coming to the forums, it is just a person’s habit.
I would if it had a feature, but it has none.
Why would they play it when they hardly even devellop it anymore.
If Anet call simple fixes features, can’t we say that by their standard we already have few expansions ?
1 : southen cove
2 : healing skill
3 : edge of the mist
4 : dry top
According to their standard, we had 4 expansions. The work they are doing in background, where they have all of their 350 employes working on minus the 30 LS team dev and the lone dev that made the fix patch, is the next expansion. My bet is one utility skill shared class-wide for march 2015, wich will be required to defeat the dragon.
For a team that big, they must scrap 90% of the content they devellop to give us so few things in 2 years.
I cant’ play without it too. Would have been a nice feature for the featureless patch.
I don’t undestand totally your response sorry. Seems you talked about bug fixes though, but since my return i’m stuck in place at least once an hour, and some traits that worked simply doesn’t work anymore. I still don’t get your response.
There are a lot of players grumbling, myself included, about not getting the many types of content people have been frequently asking for on these forums. So, I’ve come to the conclusion that feature patches are more about polish than about content.
Well it is a feature patch, so yeah it is logical that it doesn’t contain content.

So why the feature patch doesn’t contain any feature ? It should have been called fix patch.
The SAB is still here, but I dont think they have the manpower anymore to modify the npc text option to allow us to enter.
Still no feature in the feature pack, only two days left. With a LS team that make less and less updates and take more and more break ; and a fix patch that combine the china client and less work to do for a solo dev on 6 months, is anet reduced to a 10-man dev team ? That’s sad. I’d like them to tell us on what they are working atm, not posting for telling nothing and keep their toxic “policy”.
No. A featureless feature patch is a disappointment. Sadly I don’t think they work on another thing than the LS, and even this is delayed and delayed.
