Fix Character Select Respawn

My plan is to set the respawn time to default (15 seconds) plus the maximum amount of bleed time they could have suffered on disconnect. This should be the most fair for everyone. If you accidentally d/c, then you want to get back in as soon as possible.

If there is respawn time left on reconnect, the player will be killed.

Can you sneak that into game without the balance team having months of life philosophy discussions?

Seppuku, Sudoku is a numbers game. But I agree, I would like that as downed skill 5 for death. Using it would do your own finisher on you.

An odd Gift of Battle crafting issue

As a person who suffers from unpredictable anxiety attacks before doing PvP-style play, I can assure you that there’s nothing “pathetic” about your feelings.

I’m currently doing a personal test where I’m getting the Gift of Battle through the more pacifist style of play (i.e. the Monument, Big Spender, or camp flipping dailies as suggested above). If another player comes along and I don’t have the proper mindset, I just pretend like someone gifted me the chance to use a waypoint. So far it’s slower going than I expected, but there’s definite progress. (I’ve also been cheating by following zergs on “easy” caps of towers ).

May be slow but there isn’t really a faster way, dailies and getting your participation up. Could consume a yellow XP booster if you plan to be in WvW for a long tie. Boosts your maximum reward track progress from 195 to 292 every 5 mins.
If I remember correctly I think I’m in the tier that rewards the second mystic clover of the track, I do sometimes spend a while in WvW, sometimes I don’t. Most days I check what the dailys are and do the easy ones, no matter what reward track I’m doing. Maybe I’ll be on the reward track for a week, maybe Ionger, or maybe one night I’ll spend a few ours in WvW and get to the end of the track and start a new one just because I’m having fun in WvW. Slow progress doesn’t really matter. Unless you have everything else. For example, I’m planning The Moot as my next legendary. I have The Energizer and Gift of the Moot. Don’ have a lot of ecto right now or the other mats for gift of fortune, 60/77 clovers. The character I’m doing map completion with for this has about 69-70% complete. Thats why I’m not worried about the slow progress. Even if I had a gift of battle now, I’ve still got some material gathering and 30% of the map to complete before I can use it.

You get more progress capping points than killing players. As others are saying you can do the dailies. Most of them don’t involve killing players. Camp flipping can get your participation bar up quickly.
Unfortunately there will be enemy players. If you see one approaching and the haven’t attacked you can press b and choose a different borderland. Can always log out and back in if they have engaged in combat but that would cause you to die in PvE. Will be a nuisance if you have just finished clearing out a camp and an enemy comes to take it just letting them have it.
How are you with not killing but attacking a player? I’ll give an example, one time I’d just finished clearing out a camp. I mainly use my scrapper in WvW, I the distane I saw an enemy player killing the dolyak from that cap then started he darting towards me wanting to take it. He was getting near just as it was about to tick over, I used 5 with the hammer on him, a quick stun. Just long enough for it to tick over completely.
Another possibility. How would you be with standing by while others attack? Say if you join a party, do some roaming camp/tower flip. You playing as support if enemy players show up. Attack guards/supervisors/lords but if enemy players appear you just heal your own team and revive those in downed state. Not sure how that would be. You wouldn’t be attacking the enemy players but the people you are healing would be.

Stronghold was allowed for people who didn’t like Conquest.

Allowing people to play Stronghold in ranked seasonal play was the biggest mistake ArenaNet ever made. Even ignoring the issue of rampant win-trading, you can’t have players hiding in Stronghold earning the same titles and rewards players get queuing Conquest. They’re completely different game modes with completely different levels of competition. Most of the hardcore PvPers avoided Stronghold, so hitting Legendary queuing for Stronghold alone was substantially easier than queuing for Conquest.

I don’t oppose bringing Stronghold back in some capacity, perhaps with a separate leaderboard (or some form of automated tournaments), but it should never be mixed together with Conquest in seasonal play.

I’ve never seen win trading before when playing. Never offered it or been offered. Was it done between groups? I think with team queuing removed it would be different. i always solo q’d. Enjoyed season 4 even though me and the team I got were sometimes up against premades, then sometimes we beat the teams. They did have an advantage, everyone knows what part they will play. Who runs supplies, who attacks, who defends. Solo you don’t even know if they know the map. I just had a game, we won but anyway, I went on defence, my team kept going for supplies and making doorbreakers. I told them they need to kill the guards or the DBs go like moths to a flame but they continued to spam dbs. In fact most of that match was a battle royale in the supplies area. I had to go on offence and kill the guards. Funny,some people call arches useless, I actually disagree, if you have supplies, guards are still alive but for some reason you aren’t going for them, either mist essence appears by your spawn point or you are going on defense. In this case my team spamming supplies if there were some archers in there it would have been good.
I’d be happy for a separate leaderboard. Or even no leaderboard for stronghold, just a stronghold rating. maybe allow players to choose between showing the stronghold rating badge, conquest badge or hide.
About rewards though, most rewards you get doing ranked PvP are account bound. Is it really important to other players if somebody gets a reward for doing Stronghold that they earned through Conquest?

They have been talking about stopping people getting rould downd state by relogging. Making them wait the time when they get back in. I would be happy with that, I don’t relog anyway but would like a hara kiri button as skill 5 for downed state.

This one though. I liked the way season 4 was. I would have called it perfect. Mathmaking was allright and Stronghold was allowed for people who didn’t like Conquest.

I really hope they just make it so that you get no reward pips for losing.

Agree or at least drop it to 1 pip for loss instead of 3 pips. The difference between winning and losing rewards needs to be bigger. That doesn’t necessarily need to be zero pips.

That might actually make it worse. People complain about PvE farming, rewarding 1 pip for a loss when before it was 3, 4 if they got a top stat. Means every time a player starts farming they’ll be at it 3-4 times longer than they would be.
Maybe if the pip line was available unranked, season starts, pips reset, you earn in either ranked or unranked.

Siege that can be used by anyone

If it was that you needed to use supply to break your own siege weapon. For attacking the supply drain wouldn’t be quite as appealing for trolls. They wouldn’t have access to a stack of supplies, would need to take from the nearest camp. Defending would be the opposite. They could destroy siege used to defend the structure while draining supply at the same time.
If you build a siege weapon it decays and expires in 1 hour, interacting with it changes the timer. Maybe converting a weapon could give it a very quick decay. Maybe, you capture a siege weapon, convert it using either supplies or whatever it would cost. The weapon becomes free for anyone to use, say for example you are the red server, you steal a blue catapult. The blues can still use it, the greens can also use it if they come across it but it has a quick decay then it will be gone. Couldd make it something like 5 mins, maybe also have it that instead of resetting the timer interacting with it only pauses the decay.

the way i see it, transmuting your armor should work for the entirety of your armor: meaning, if you transmute one piece of armor to a different type, then you have to transmute all of it to that type.

Would all other armour go to a basic skin of the new weight for free or would you need 6 transmutation charges each time you change weight and transmute all pieces to you choice at once? Problem would be what happens when you get a new piece? You need to equip to transmute, would you need to take everything else off then transmute?

The thing about being able to recognise in WvW. Outfits and Tonics exist. I remember once seeing a zerg of Kodas just after A Crack in the Ice was released. There is also the Royal Guard outfit that everyone was given for free late 2015, can make anyone look like they are wearing heavy armour.

Cool, thanks. I think it is having points below 500 after killing the lord that causes it. Just had a match the enemy killed our lord, had 450 and the match went on until they got to 500. Their lord went inulnerable.

Seems to give the 300 point boost, you get the dialog to imply either victory or defeat but if the team who has killed the enemy lord still has below 500 points the match continues… Well not sure if that is what causes it but getting your score to 500 seems to end the match.

I was thinking about arrow carts and siege weapons used to defend towers/keeps. Maybe if you flip a tower any siege weapon built on or inside the walls should be converted to yours. Just thinking after a real life siege the invaders wouldn’t destroy intact equipment just because it was the enemy’s, they’d take it.
Rams and catas, would have belonged to the invading team so wouldn’t be effected.

That is a good point. I don’t like Conquest anyway but the Forest… Successfully holding 2-3 points, a forest creature appears, 4 payers go for it thinking it’s the end of the world if they don’t. During this time the enemy caps everything and if that wasn’t bad enuh some lucky git from the enemy team manages to get the final hit on the creature. Must be a sustainable enemy because the next minute or so you can see on the mini map all four team mates fighting in that valley between the keep and where the creature spawns.
I thought the forest creatures are something 1 player should go for at most but if you control most of the map might be best to just stay on the points and hold them rather than getting decapped for 25 points.

Being able to use them for free might be a bit much. You could put up some catas to take a tower, after you’ve taken it the next enemies to come along grab the catas you build and use hem to take the tower. On the other hand, it would be more realistic. Well, I’d guess in that type of setting if a group needed to get a wall or gate down and came across some siege weapons lying about they’d use them.
Maybe if there was a new blueprint made, cost need supplies to use but allows you to steal a siege weapon. So you wouldn’t be able to just grab an enemy siege weapon for free but you could convert it to your own for the cost of the blueprint and a far smaller amount of supplies than it would be to build a new one. Not allowed to be used wile in combat or while the machine is being used otherwise defending would be too easy with a small group vs another, just convert their siege weapons and they can’t use them anymore.

I thought the only option for reporting would be idle player. Though just being bad at the game doesn’t mean a player should be punished. He is capping a point after all, maybe he just doesn’t know what he’s supposed to do.
I know some players report teammates playing badly for match manipulation. Is’t that only true if they ate intentionally letting the enemy win? Offered gold or something by an enemy player to throw the match. Or it can be used to report the enemy offering the gold. Trying and failing isn’t match manipulation. Of course, every time you report you see the warning no to abuse the report feature. No communication between the person you reported and the enemy that would imply they are being rewarded to play badly could backfire on the person reporting for match manipulation.

Why has the price increased so much anyway? All the weapon recipes from the forge were in the game from the beginning. The only thing that’s eating mystic coins is the guild hall. But those upgrades should be done by done in most guilds or won’t ever be. So I’m curious where all the coins are going.

Or is it just that the supply was reduced greatly? I don’t really remember if there were other ways to get them years ago.

HoT introduced more uses or them. The new legendaries. Mystic Tribute requires 250 coins plus the mystic clovers. Mystic Tribute wasn’t in the game from the beginning, just with the introduction of HoT. The previous legendaries only needed the mystic clovers for Gift of Fortune.
New collections. To complete the set for the elite spec weapons you need the mystic weapon. That’s 30 coins.

If a teammate intentionally goes afk in order to throw a match that certainly hasn’t been decided, whether they’re being rewarded somehow by the opposing team or not, I’d consider that match manipulation. I agree with you when you say that the function is abused, as I’m sure false reports are made on a regular basis. But, doesn’t ANet state that there will be repercussions for making such false reports? Again, this comes down to ANet actually following through with what they said, unless there is way to safeguard players from abusing the report system.

I don’t mean AFK, just playing “badly.” If they try and fail that isn’t a reason to report for match manipulation. But some people do.

Th report feature gets over abused by some players. I’ve seen us losing a match, was pretty close but a player on our team claimed that reported us. Don’t know what reason he gave but hey, 4 reports put out from one guy over losing a match. I’ve also seen players claiming to report others for playing badly. Calling it match manipulation. Isn’t it only match manipulation if they are intending to throw the match having been bribed by the enemy? If they tried and the enemy just happened to be stronger, whether they just aren’t very skilled or were up against a stronger enemy I don’t see it as a reason for action to be taken against them.

To be honest I’m happy with Battle of Champion’s Dusk the way it is. I’m used to the map. Maybe if instead of making huge changes to the Stonghold map we have another Stronghold map. Players like me who have conquest unchecked could vote either BoCD or the new map.
Or, could get more people into it if season 6 was all Stronghold. First 4 seasons you could choose between Stronghold or Conquest. Season 5 was all Conquest. How about season 6 all Stronghold?

What I would love is if there was a downed skill 5 for instant death. Maybe have it the 0 key so that you can’t fat finger it. Say it becomes available 3 seconds after entering downed state. Maybe doing it activates your own finisher.
I don’t think it would be used that often, people I’ve fought against usually do what they can to avoid the stomp if there is a chance of rallying, sometimes even if there is no chance. Last night for example in WvW another player and me were taking a camp, it was cleared out, a thief from the server that owned it tried to contest it. We got him in his downed state and he still teleported as I was doing a finisher. Didn’t help him much as I just ran to where he teleported to and stomped but hey, on the off chance some other player from his sever might join the fray he tried to postpone the stomp.
But anyway, if the enemy aren’t going to stomp you, gonna hit you with projectile just before you revive with 4 and it doesn’t look like you have a teammate to revive you anywhere near then an instant death option would be nice.

Obviously wouldn’t work since that’d be a way to pick your own team. People would just block bad players and win automatically. Also stop raging and PMing players that they’re bad. It won’t make anything better

So people winning because they’re not being dragged down is bad how?

It’s not about not being dragged down, it would be abused and people could easily manipulate matches. If you blacklist everyone who can’t carry you then eventually you’ll get carried most matches.
TBH rather than blacklisting my own team I’d prefer not so much a blacklist for opposing players but if there was something in place that kept you from facing the same opposing players twice in a row. At least as the same character. They beat you once, next match unless you improve a lot in a short time they’ll probably beat you again. Same goes the other way around, you’ve already beaten them, a few minutes later does it prove much if you beat the same person again?

Claiming queue needs to go

The way the queue works confuses me. I wasn’t going to claim anyway but I was roaming, cleared out a camp solo, while waiting for it to tick over 3 players in a guild joined me in the circle. When it was captured they were given priority to claim. Nothing against leeching, I’ve done it myself if another player from the same server has beaten me to the camp and cleared it out before I got there but putting the ones who leeched ahead in the queue?

if it is intentional then those cannot be classified as ascended gear since ascended gear can be mystic forgeable in order to change their stats.

It has the same stats as ascended gear and can take infusions. It can be classed as ascended gear and is ascended gear. A bit more than a year ago Ascended gear couldn’t have the stats changed. It was still ascended.
Calling it not ascended because it can’t have it’s stats changed at the Mystic Forge is like saying Temple Armour is not exotic because it can’t be salvaged like forged or looted exotic pieces.

Fixing Stronghold

Stronghold Fixes
Fixing it completely will be an incremental approach, but this is the bare minimum:

  • Doorbreakers die after one successful hit. Now you can’t carry your initial supply through both gates; players now have to get supply and they’ll fight over it.
  • Damage breaks channel; reduce channel times. It’s too easy to stability channel things and completely ignore players. The trebuchet removing all stability was a band-aid, and a terrible one at that. If damage breaks channels, you’re forced to win the territory first.
  • Archer gate damage buffed. Archers continue on their path after casting an attack (no chasing). They’re useless now. Players can kill guards just as fast and archers barely scratch gates, even in large numbers. Archers are too easily distracted and due to “stop until target dies” mechanics, they can be distracted indefinitely.
  • Mist Heroes buffed in their primary role – getting into a base and killing a lord. They suck as a comeback mechanic. The time you wasted channeling it and going back to a fight could have been better spent in the fight itself. Increase their move speed and gate damage at a minimum.

The first two changes I think would make it worse.
Door breakers need a bit of a life bar. 1 Successful hit and it would be far too easy to defend the base. Anyone with a bit of AoE could have all your doorbreakers dead in a second. Say, Longbow Ranger, skill 3, invisible, skill 5 around the dbs. Run through the outer gate and wait for the next lot. Defense would be so easy Outer gates would probably never go down and it would be always about wining by points. And if nobody defends you could still get the starting supply doorbreakers to the inner gate, guards kill them in one hit as it is but you need to kill the guards before they do. Maybe if Doorbreakers couldn’t be healed, same for guards but if they were too easy to kill you wouldn’t be able to defend them.
Channeling is fine as it is, It isn’t about capturing and holding territory like Conquest. Stability is the best way to get it. Would be too easy to knock you off if damage breaks commune. I’d say that it should stay as it is.
Archers, I’d agree their AI should be looked at. They should stay on path.

Nope. You can’t have a ranked system where some people don’t meet others because of mode selection. If it came back, it would have to be a map choice alongside conquest maps.

Problem is, stronghold is terribly implemented and was never fixed despite mountains of player feedback during beta weekends. It’s just a PvE race.

Does it really matter which mode people rank up in? It’s not like players are going to get into Legendary then switch modes anyway. All the time I’ve played Stronghold in ranked I’ve never intended to go into Conquest in a higher division. I don’t like Conquest.
How about if instead of it being a random map to be selected Stronghold had it’s own rank and leaderboard. If the pips stay the same in season 6 as they are in 5 have it that they are the same track so that people can’t go through one mode, switch and go through the pip track and get the rewards twice but your rank in Stronghold is different from your rank in Conquest. A player could be top of the Conquest leaderboard, accidentally enter a Stronghold match and think that he can get through the gate by hitting it like in Foefire. Or top of the Stronghold leaderboard and want to help by Duo capping close in Conquest. A player could be legendary in one mode and Bronze in the other.
So keeping both modes in ranked, separate but the ranks are also separate.

Another way that actually will time-gate the armor (meaning it cant be Ktrained/farmed to get) would be to add a weekly (or monthly) achievement. Player kills, keep captures/defense etc. Tokens awarded upon completion. Obtaining a full set of armor should take roughly 3-4 months or so. Weapons a month each (1h 2 weeks, 2h 4 weeks). It makes a single piece achievable in the short term but a full set requires people to come back to WvW (if they choose to only obtain the armor in this way).

Your suggested rate is way too slow. Currently some people have gotten 5 pieces of ascended armor from mere 10 hours of spvp. Why WvWvW ascended rewards should be over 20 times slower?

WvWvW needs significantly improved rewards. The easiest way for developers would simply add new items for WvWvW vendors e.g. ability to buy ascended backpiece, ascended weapons and ascended armor + fractal related things (e.g. Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence) using proofs of heroics and/or badges of honor and/or laurels and/or gold.

Yes, but they can ONLY get those 5 pieces for the whole season.
My suggestion was a permanent addition to WvW.
And adding a new currency should be the way it is done so as to not promote Ktraining for the loot

3-4 months is a long time for a complete set. Would make WvW the slowest way to get a full set. Would really need to depend on how much you play. I’d say maybe could go all out and get a piece a day. Maybe on average a piece every few days?

The best choice would be the combination of gold + laurels + WvWvW specific currencies, mainly: proofs of heroics and badges of honor.

I feel that 5 laurels + 5-10 g + 150 proofs / 3000 badges sounds reasonable for 1 piece of armor. It would still be faster to get the ascended in spvp tournaments.

Ten times the above cost ascended back piece with selectable stats.

I’d say a combination of currencies you get in WvW. Proof of Heroics, Memories of Battle and Badges of Honour. Gold and Laurels aren’t needed with the PvP vendor.

Make the PVP Lords a lot stronger

For 25 points I’d say the difficulty of the beasts is fine being possible to solo. It’s more annoying that you can have them near death solo and some lucky git from the other team manages to get the last hit and scores.
Shouldn’t that be changed to who did the most damage still in combat?
Examples: Blue player solos beast, 50% health left red player attacks beast, both fight it to death. Blue scores, well 50% left and blue still fighting red couldn’t do more.
Blue player solos beast, gets 90% of it’s health off. Red player joins fight, either kills blue player while beast is still alive or blue player runs away. Either way blue player is out of combat with beast. If red kills it red scores.
Rather than just, see an enemy about to kill it, attack the beast, random chance yours will be the killing blow and you get the points.

What if Ascended Shards of Glory were made available in Unranked? Set number of shards at the end of reward tracks? Rank up chest? Small number awarded if you win a match?
Would give PvE farmers less of a reason to play ranked.

Has the Triumphant Hero set been released yet? Maybe that should be the skin used if we get an Ascended set that you need to do WvW to obtain.
Question would be how you would obtain Ascended Memories of Battle, well if it would be the WvW equivalent to the PvP vendor. Shards of Glory and Ascended Shards of Glory. For WvW Memories of Battle and Ascended Memories of Battle. Rank chests maybe? So the winning server gets more bonus chests, more AMoB for players in winning server. Or maybe only the bonus rank chest. Your serve wins, your next 3 rank ups will have a bonus chest that contains AMoB, come in 3rd place, 1 bonus chest, 1 lot of AMoB until next week.
In WvW the gear you have equipped matters, so seems a good idea to have a vendor for ascended. Seeing as PvP has it and armour is more important in WvW.

It’s the same with a lot of the Wintersday games. Was playing with a friend earlier. Geting into the same Toypocalypse game took a few tries. Also did a few games of Snowball Mayhem, after we got into the same game when it reet for the next round it was random for teams. When somebody joins shouldn’t it do for all party members in Divinity Reach the countdown like it does for dungeons and personal story for players in the same map?
Then teams should keep parties together, I’d understand if a team was too big and one of a group was the one to get switched for that game but think by default parties should be together. If your in a party with friends, wanting to play GW2 with them. If multiple members of the same party join one of the instances it is highly likely they are playing together and wish to participate in the same instance.

I looked at the trading post. No matter what you want to say about flippers they are not the reason. For that matter anyone flipping fragments would be making a loss. Buy instantly is 2g 70, highest offer is 2g 50. To list something for 2g 70 would be 13s 50 listing fee, 27s exchange, 40s50 total. Net profit, -20s50.

2. Make Fractals and Raid only thru Random Queue so that PvP players can go there and mess up their pve part of the game and that way they will learn how other people feel when they come to PVP mess up ranked . This is drastic solution but they need to learn once and for all

I like that idea. LFG in raids can be so specific about what they want, its hard to get in to a raids. Maybe allow people the option to buy a custom raid like they can a custom arena then they can be as specific as they like. I’d like the idea of a random queue, might not be as fast as a meta team but would give players a chance to get into it. Maybe allow hotjoins to raids that were queued for if a player leaves.

I can’t recall a single stronghold game where I didn’t pvp during the match.

I would like SH added for variety but it’s no biggie to me but I find it strange that I’ve seen people mention that players don’t face off in SH’s. We must be playing completely different games.

I think it’s a myth Conquest players thought up. They know the objective is to kill the enemy lord. Don’t seem to take into account that there is an enemy team trying to kill their lord at the same time.

It’s still more than a hot join arena, it can be played as a rated, unranked match. Or were you talking about the Courtyard?

I suppose Stronghold hasn’t been touched for a while. No new maps added, the newest Mist Champion was Tybalt. Funny, on the Mist Champ selection screen you have an option to select offensive, defensive, specialist. Looked like it was originally intended to be full up.
Removing it from ranked though seems only to help the vanity of people who have it unchecked and cost more to people who want to do Stronghold. A Stronghold player gets into a higher division than a Conquest, no effect other than display yet some people moaned. If they didn’t like Stronghold they could uncheck it.
People call it an easy win, depends who you have on your team and how strong the enemy team is, just like Conquest. One team wins, the other loses. Every match there are 5 players who lose and 5 who win. I think with removing full team queuing if Stonghold was still there it would reduce the chance of “easy wins.” They could garentee themselves 4 other players before that had an idea of how the map works. Now there is a chance you will get players who spam door breakers but don’t kill the guards. I’ve had that recently, was solo queuing, was on defense at the time a couple of team mates spammed door breakers but left the guards untouched. Not even any archers so that if nobody defended at least the guards would go down.

Threatening to report you in an empty threat if you have said nothing bad back to them. When you click report you get the warning about abuse of the report feature so if they report you for nothing they do more damage to themselves.
I’ve met a player like that though. He started whispering abuse for nothing, blocked me so I couldn’t ask what I’d done wrong. Then he did the “Ctrl T” on me, I then put the target above his head, hey, i don’t want to play with that target constantly in my face. He whispered that he was reporting me.
I did report him for verbal abuse. He had said some nasty stuff though. I hadn’t said anything to him, good or bad, if he reported me wouldn’t that have been worse for him as it would count as abusing the report feature?

So what you’re saying is that I can play pvp without getting any pvp rewards, no leaderboards, no leagues, no nothing and this is my great consolation prize? No thanks. I play pvp for the competition of getting better every season and so forth, off-season I don’t play as much because I find the seasons give me something to strive for. And I don’t want to queue against solo and duo players in unranked where they have no chance against my team and where most people play horribly. The solo/duo queue will kill five man teams in unranked too, since there is no point for many of the teams to practice.

So basically I will be stuck with no rewards and a long queue time to play against people that will lose based on an unfair disadvantage

I’d rather switch games to be honest than to be treated like garbage.

I know it’s quite an old post in the thread but that is sounding pretty hostile. I play unranked a lot off season and now. There are still rewards, the reward track, dailies and level up reward. You miss out on the league rewards but there are rewards in unranked. I’m in a similar position to you having something I really liked removed from ranked, you want to play as a 5 man team, I am only interested in Stronghold, not interested in Conquest. I’m playing unranked for now, I’d rather play Stronghold unranked than play Conquest.
Does bring another point, should be playing for fun. I have fun playing Stronghold, may be less rewards playing unranked but I get to have fun playing the game mode that I want to play. Similar idea for you, you may get less rewards unranked but you get to play with your four guild mates. Are you playing for fun or rewards?

That is another thing. It gets referred to as easy wins, one side loses every match just like in Conquest. You go in, might be an easy win or you might get steam rolled, there is another team in the arena trying to win.
Maybe an additional league for Stronghold would be the answer. Might even draw people in to Stronghold who want to be high up in both leagues.

I liked the way Season 4 was. Stronghold a part of the season but people could uncheck it if they wanted to. Just like we could uncheck Conquest.
People who only did Conquest moaned that Stronghold players could share a division or be in a higher division than them. One thing they said was that you could play a match and never encounter an enemy player, from experience that is rare.
I see removing it a effecting Stronghold players in a negative way rather than helping anyone. Conquest players could uncheck it and never play Stronghold. This is a big loss to Stronghold players and I don’t see how it benefits Conquest players other than a few who don’t like the idea of sharing a rank with players who got there through Stronghold, even though it doesn’t effect them and as both probably have each others arena mode unchecked will most likely never meet in a PvP match.

Was playing the Snowball Fight with my friend earlier. we were in a party together. Seemed every time it reset we were on opposing sides. Most times one of us was able to swap. I’d be fine with it being random at reset but thought it would be better to keep parties together, well unless it is 9v9 and when we join so the only places we could have would be on opposing teams. Or if a lot of the people playing are part of groups so one needs to be split.

because people were getting to Legend status playing stronghold which you could literally do without having to actually fight or kill other players. Which kinda defeats the purpose of “Player v Player”

That would only work if you are doing all 5 pushing for lord and absolutely nobody on the enemy team defends. Full rush can work but if there is strong defense on the enemy team then it could fail. And with only allowing solo/duo queuing for ranked I can see the number of full rushes declining. People have a minute to nail down their strategy to the team, can’t be a 5 man premade that everybody knows what the plan is before the match starts.
What does it matter if a player gets to legend doing a different game mode? Aren’t they more likely to stay in Stronghold mode anyway? Not get good at one mode, get into a higher division and change modes in ranked?
I just don’t get why Conquest players care. I don’t see Sunbringers complaining that Dungeon players have a different way of getting gold and loot.

Maybe if they had 2 separate ranking systems. Not too familiar with the new ones but if it was that you could get to Legend in Stronghold but if you play Conquest you would be Amber, get to Legend in Conquest but still be Amber in Stronghold.

Can still be played unranked. It is my favourite game mode. It was mentioned about it coming back in a later season. Hope so, I am not interested in Conquest.
A complaint people made was teams used to farm people. I solo/duo qued the whole time. People who didn’t want to do it could uncheck it, Don’t see why they preferred Conquest anyway to it anyway but why should they care if they have unchecked it ad are playing Conquest if others are playing Stronghold ranked?
It would be like in PvE, doing Teq to get the gold then complaining that other people are making gold by doing dungeons. Different ways to do things.
