I’ve been in Gunnar’s Hold since I started playing. Recently I’ve done more WvW than I used to. Since the last world linking it seems to have gone down hill badly.

The recent change to PvP matches was to allow Solo Queue players the option of forming a party with your last group. But this isn’t a real answer to the problem of not being allowed a separate Solo Queue system. I shouldn’t be forced to find 4 other players each time I want to play Ranked just to avoid lower skilled players. I do Solo because I like to flip between PvE, WvW, and PvP whenever I want to. Leaving a team after a game or two is bad etiquette. I have more freedom to go in and out of PvP as a solo player.

Finding 4 skilled players to team with is pretty much the only way to have a 100% guarantee of not getting teamed with lower skilled players. If a lower skilled player who made it to your division solo queues there’s a chance he’ll be on your team unless all 5 places are taken.
I do the same when I solo, I might queue but do some PvE or WvW while queueing, or just leave PvP for hours to do something else. I don’t really see a bad etiquette thing with leaving a party after a couple of games. If you aren’t in a match with them then you aren’t leaving them 4v5, you don’t need to stay in the party after the match has ended. Could only plan to do one more match then go offline, think, good team, might as well go with them for my last match of the day. Etiquette is what you make it. I could think of some things I’d call bad etiquette. Once had a team from another server attacking me during the Slay the Veteran Harpy event, I was just in WvW that time for the daily but the cc they were using it seemed like they were determined to stop me getting a hit on it. Unlucky for them I managed to and a hit and get the daily. I’d call that worse etiquette than leaving a team between matches, maybe others wouldn’t. Some might say joining a dungeon party labelled as full run and leaving after one path is bad etiquette, I was guilty of that yesterday, I just needed to do one path to get enough tokens, afterwards the other 4 were free to do the next path and could advertise for it if they wanted to fill my place. I wouldn’t be bothered if I was had started a full run party and someone left after one path, same time, in WvW if a player is clearly there to kill the veteran creature for their daily I only attack the creature, I let them get their daily, they want a fight afterward, well that’s fine. What some see as bad etiquette other might see as normal.

The way to improve solo queue matchmaking is to have an actual solo queue.

Personally, I think that leagues should require a FULL team to play. It’d smooth out some issues with balance that occur due to uncoordinated teams. Most importantly, it’d help reduce the gigantic gap between those at the top of the game (proleague / actual teams) and everyone else. This is something that simply NEEDS to happen if they’re legitimately trying to push the game into a more competitive direction, or at least a competitive direction that’s actually a healthy one for the game. Having this kind of system allows players to engage in learning, much more so than what we currently have.

Then have an ACTUAL solo queue outside of league play, with a bit better rewards than Unranked. Maybe even with a solo queue ladder.

no, its more simple, full team or full soloq, no duo, trio or quadq, if you in your full team want to put your newby friend for fun is your problem not ruin game of others

and clearly separate leagues a long league for teams whith rewards/valoration tied to team not individual and the actual short leagues for solo players

Full team or full solo without a choice of having a team of less than 5 queuing together would be terrible, shameful is what it would be. So you want to play GW2 with a friend, either Soloq and hope to be in the same team or pick up 3 random players?
Its an MMO, you play with others online, it’s even in the title, Guild Wars. Guild, I’m sure a lot of people who are friends in the real world are members of the same guild. Not enough Guild members online for a party of 5, lots of people would be annoyed if they couldn’t queue together.

TBH Division is to me not a reason to refuse to queue with someone. Especially if you know the person. Kind of like when Dungeon teams have the 5k+ rule.
I am in ruby just now, my best friend is in emerald, skillwise I’d say we are pretty close but I play more. Wouldn’t be much fun when I’m visiting if because of us being in different divisions we played separately. People want to queue with their friends, they play to have fun. Why should 2 friends be forced to for a pick up group of 5 just to be able to queue together?

Always pick Capricorn in Unranked

It’s not easy to do the temporary achievements. Not all players pick Capricorn, and when you do get to play it, you can’t win all the time. Plus, not all players have 8 hours a day to queue for Capricorn. And since this is Unranked, there’s really no reason to pick a non-Capricorn map. Players just wanting to play can do one of the many Hotjoin maps, or do Ranked for more serious competition.

I haven’t done Conquest for months, had it unchecked. Ranked or Unranked I’m only interested in Stronghold. Maybe having a third box for Capricorn to check or uncheck would be a nice addition.
What you said about not everyone having 8 hours a day to play though is as good a reason to vote the arena you want to do. You have a little bit of time to play, enough for one match, favourite arena comes up. I’d understand voting it. Or if you don’t like Capricorn. I never liked Legacy of Foefire, if somebody felt the same way about Capricorn I’d understand voting against it.

Annoys me to no end. I go to commune, theres a downed player under it, I can’t commune, need to revive. Can it be changed to let the escence take priority?

One thing about the balancing being freeing out a player of the same class if available on the other team. Shouldn’t it be more to do with MMR, which place they were in the team, or personal score, how big a contribution the leaver made and freeze the player in the same place rather than remove by profession.
An example, say you have a Dragon Hunter doing well, making a good contribution. Meanwhile a Guardian with all Spirit Weapons on the other team decides to rage quit he gets killed a few times. Freeze out the Dragon Hunter, which team suffers most from the rage quit?
As I said I wouldn’t be happy with being frozen out because a player on the other team was AFK but this is what I think would be more fair if it did come to that.

Why would you give up ? maybe the other 3 of your team wants to win !
Isn’t it better if you have to fight 4v4 making it balanced again instead of just loosing a game (maybe even your winstreak) and your pip ?

Would be even more annoying for the other team. If a player on the other team was AFK while I was in the middle of something crucial I wouldn’t want to be frozen out.

A knock at the door, phone rings, family member needs help. Banned for a week. We don’t know why she stayed in base. I don’t imagine she would rage quit if the team was winning. Maybe a parcel arrived that her parents or sibling had ordered, nobody else in the house to sign for it. Maybe something more serious like a frail grandparent having an accident and needing medical attention, she needed to call the ambulance and comfort them.
The other option, I’ll just say I’d hate if that happened. I have a clear shot at the inner gate guards, door breakers behind me. Somebody disconnects on the other team, next thing I know I’m a spectator and my DBs are dead. Or I’m on the trebuchet, enemy door breakers are at the outer gate, one treb shot away from wiping out the DBs, enemy same class as me sees that, alt F4, I’m spectator as well, outer gate down. Could practically be used as an advantage. A player the same class as you alone either attacking, defending or on a point you and a teammate could 2v1 or you could AFK and let your friend do what they want to do unchallenged. If you are queueing with friends there is a player the same class as you that is better than you and you believe to be carrying their team, why not just AFK? They can’t carry if they are a spectator, if they were better then their team lost more than yours.
Could maybe try to balance it, get a player back by offering their place in the game to queuing players, make it fair on them by not giving dishonour if they choose not to join a match that is already halfway through and giving their place in the queue back after the match.

Seriously ? Then why he/she didn’t reply to our teamchat ? at least some sort of a warning or something ?

lets say one of these extreme situations happen in real life inside my house or just outside of it, i would be more glad to go and help someone in need knowing that i might have a weekly ban than just do nothing at all, an the other hand why my teamates has to suffer all this ?

On the balance thing, yes it would be much more fair with a spectator mode,because lets face it : after a certain level and beyond carrying a game is not a simple task espacially on higher divisions (diamond-legendary) where the pressure and frustration are on peak for each match. You say “If you are queueing with friends there is a player the same class as you that is better than you and you believe to be carrying their team, why not just AFK?” well anyone goes AFK for this sort of manipulation its his sorry kitten with a penalty for week and a permanent season x ban if he do it again so good luck with that !

Doesn’t need to be extreme circumstances, DHL pull into your driveway with a parcel, nobody else home to sign for it. What do you do?
About the spectator thing. I did say queuing with friends, are they going to report you for going AFK to put a strong enemy player in spectator mode? Even in pugs they could agree that if a player the same class was a lot stronger then AFK and remove them. Group could decide they’d do it for you if you do it for them. your own team aren’t going to report you for helping them.

Would be good if you could display your WvW Rank it as your title. In PvP you get a new title every 10 ranks. Would be a long list of titles to choose from for high level WvW players, maybe if once you reach one rank it deletes the previous on, for example if you get to Silver General it deletes Bronze General?

Stronghold - New Map

There is a different featurethat shares the name Stronghold, I think it’s a raid that is exclusive to HoT owners. It has nothing to do with PvP. Could be what you are thinking of?
As for PvP, I’d like to see some new SH maps and some new Mist Champions. I prefer it to Conquest.

A thought on Dishonour

I’ve had games where others disconnected then came back after a while and we won. Could do it when you lose as well but people would be less obliged to. As for queuing with friends, would that really matter? If a player rage quits and their friends decide to stop them getting dishonour then hey, it was their game that got ruined.

People sometimes complain about receiving Dishonour after reconnecting from being disconnected. I’ve seen matches where people have been disconnected for a while, come back and made a good contribution. The time spent offline possible caused these players to receive Dishonour.
A possible solution. How about if at the end of a match where a player has been offline for the 2 mins the other four team member get a chance to vote, “Spare [player name] Dishonour” No negative vote, if you don’t vote it just counts as you don’t see them as having played their part. Maybe have it if one votes they get a reduced timeout, two votes and they don’t get any Dishonour. Would mean half the team have actively decided to forgive them being offline for the time.
Could also be brought in to ranked, if they are offline and you lose then it’s fine for them to be the one player to lose a pip. If you win 4v5 or they reconnect and win. People complain about pip loss after a win after being disconnected for too long. Could have it 2 votes and they don’t lose a pip and win streak is unaffected, half of the other players have decided they made a contribution. 3 votes and they get the pip, the majority have decided they played their part.
Just what I was thinking, I see people complaining sometimes about dishonour and pip loss after reconnecting and winning, some even saying they would be just as well to not bother reconnecting and helping the team. This would give the 4 players effected the chance to decide if the dishonour is necessary and if they choose not to vote to spare the dishonour, well, the disconnected player wouldn’t have much grounds to complain. They were offline too long and their contribution when online too small. Would encourage them to reconnect and try their best rather than sit th match out knowing the result will be the same for them either way.

Does it kill minions if a necro gets it? Just you included them in your examples.
I’m not really for it being removed completely, but a nerf where it couldn’t be used if the target is in another form. Rampage, Shroud, Astral, Tornado. In WvW could extend to the race specific transformations like he Norn spirit forms. Immunity might be fairer on the Mesmer in that if I was in rampage for 10 seconds, get moa’d then get it back after reverting it would possibly be beneficial to me to be moa’d and renew.
Kind of unfair right now though, those forms are people’s elite skills or specials. A Mesmer can waste your elite skill then they get theirs back with Continuum Split.

Sucks when Moa is cast on me during a Juggernaut form.
Not so much getting moa’d but the fact that I lose it and have to wait for a long cool down. Maybe if Rampage could be given immunity to Moa? Or a shorter cool down after reverting if cast during rampage?

A gibberish filter that 3 consonants in a row would flag up wouldn’t work, just thinking my main character is Sinmir Stormcloak. That has 4 consonants in a row(And I’ve seen a few other players with using last name Stormcloak.)
Anyway that would hurt all players who want to use a name that has 3 or more consonants in a row and wouldn’t do much to the gold sellers. just means when they are hitting random keys every third one or more needs to be a, e, i, o, or u.

I was thinking more once they have written a message on it they are open to be whispered to by any player for the next hour regardless of where else they chat.

Moving to map chat for gold sellers, well even that would be a small defeat for them. They always could map chat but choose to whisper. Must be a reason, more personal, it shows on your screen in purple, somebody has something to say to you. Maybe not wanting to get caught but then they know they’ll get reported when they whisper and they want people to read it, once on the map, everyone sees, seems easier than whispering to everyone.

They use whisper so they can save all the account names to a list and then just spam them all which is why you get targeted so often, its the same group doing it.
Then they don’t even need to be in the map, they can just spam the 100,000 names on the list whenever they are going to delete an account.

What is really needed is a gibberish filter for names, since all these characters are just, gibberish, it would really restrict them in making new accounts and characters.

That explains the ones whispering in Sparkfly Fen. I thought it might have been a person smart enough to know that there will be a lot of people in SFF at the time of Tequatl spawning.

Destroying Obsidian Shards

Wondering if there was any chance that having to type the name before destroying could be removed? It’s a good idea to save valuables from being accidentally destroyed but Obsidian Shards are pretty available from several sources in PvE. Doing a lot of PvP and WvW Obsidian Shards are often rewarded. Reaches 250, can’t deposit any more. I’ve had to type the name in a few times when trying to make room in my inventory. Or maybe if they could be sold to vendors.

I dont think so, theres no getting around the lvl restriction without dedicated time. doing it this way forces the old paid for accounts to be the ones having to make the advert and subject to ban. thus forcing them to create new accounts with said restrictions. Overall making it thousands of times more time consuming and less profitable for them to operate. Restricting them to /say keeps it all local and easily trackable. Also preventing them from contacting you all over tyria. How do you propose they will quickly get around this?

If they have Heart of Thorns there is a free boost for one character to get to level 80. Judging by the fact they are able to whisper to people who aren’t mutual contacts I doubt they are f2p. That was why I thought there should be a some of the story completed with one character, just the level 10 part, and maybe a minimum Achievement Points.
/Say and /Map and any other chat would be fine, they only ever whisper. I didn’t think it would make it that bad for new players. They join, their friends add them to contacts so they can communicate. They hit level 10(Or do the level 10 part of the story at 80.) Earn the number achievements they need and they can whisper to anyone they see. They only need to do that once. Every time a gold selling account is banned they need to go through it again.

Then they’ll level up, do the story, and get enough achievement points while farming mats before ending life as a billboard for the gold selling website. It honestly doesn’t take that long as ANet would not be able to make the limits prohibitively high to not inconvenience actual players too much.

Right now they can start an account, choose a race/class, press skip to end, hit a few random keys to make a name, do the tutorial mission and after that they can whisper to as many players as possible before they get banned. The more put between them and the ability to whisper the slower they will be to be able to advertise their site. A low required level and minimum AP wouldn’t be too bad for new actual players, they don’t start playing just to be able to whisper to other players(They can’t get hero points before level 11 but after one character in the account has they can with any character. I don’t know the reason for that, that type of barrier on whispering though would be pretty understandable) but for gold sellers who only log in to whisper needing to go through a bit of work each time they make a new account. I think it would slow them down a bit.

The increased slowness would hurt new players more than gold sellers.

Many guilds ask that you whisper for an invite. A new player may feel uncomfortable asking a question in say or map chat.

Gold sellers are inconvenienced for a short time as they will find the quickest way to gain the required level and AP.

Okay I guess I could suggest one more solution to the idea of minimum AP/Level/Story progress on one character idea.
I suppose we have all seen people advertising their guild on map chat and saying to whisper for more info. It was one of the things I had against putting the limitation on new accounts s it would slow down new players joining a guild and annoy guild recruiters.
How about a new chat option. /say is for players nearby, /map is for the whole map. How about an option like /open map? Work just like /map in that it speaks to every player on the map but after chatting on /open map you are open to be whispered to by anyone, regardless of AP, level or progression for say, 1 hour? Time resets every time they chat in it. Recruiters can advertise, new players can whisper to them. Gold sellers would need to go through everything before they can whisper to anybody who hasn’t chatted on /open map within an hour. Could do the same with /say, I’ve seen commanders standing at the spawn points after tutorial mission, I was just creating a new character but they were welcoming new players to the game with the green /say. Maybe would be nice to let the player whisper back.

So to summarize new players would be able to whisper to mutual contacts and guild recruiters or anyone who has just chatted on /open map. Gold sellers would be slowed down. Hoping that idea wouldn’t be too damaging for genuine new players.

Not fond of the idea of having to pay to whisper.

Maybe a verbal abuse jar. Swearing, can be unpleasant but you can swear and not be verbally abusing people. I kind of like the idea of a verbal abuse jar. Player gets reported, the chat log gets checked, if it turns out that in the context they were verbally abusive they pay the price.

Somebody once mentioned that all the gold sellers have the same number of achievement points. Was it 17 as mentioned in this thread? What if it was changed so that you need a certain amount of AP before you can whisper?
I was also considering being a certain level but anyone with HoT has a free level 80 boost. If the gold sellers are using paid for accounts.
Or maybe if you can’t whisper until you have completed your level 10 personal story with at least one character then you can whisper with any character on your account? Or both, I mean, it wouldn’t be too hard for a new player to reach level 10, do their personal story for it and gain say, 100 AP? That early in their time playing I don’t imagine they will be desperate to whisper anyway. On the other hand it makes gold sellers work every time they want to create a new account that they know is going to get banned and they’ll need to start again.
Maybe could have it that new players can whisper to people who they have on their contact list and are on the contact list of, or are in a guild with them.
Might cause a bit of trouble if they want to join a guild that somebody advertises on map chat but they could always say explain their position on map chat.

A HP reward track wouldn’t be a bad idea, not that it’s necessary, just if people wanted to farm hero points then it would be fine. Why somebody who doesn’t want to do PvE or WvW wants hero points is confusing. You don’t need hero points if you only play PvP. You have all traits and abilities unlocked, if you have HoT then Elite is unlocked too. I’d see the addition of a HP reward track to be useful to someone who spends time in PvP but also plays either PvE, WvW or both.

Just because you need to pay for it doesn’t always make it better than what’s available. Look at Mist Champions(speaking of which, I’d love to see some new ones), Nika, Grymm and Tybalt cost 15g to unlock the reward track to unlock them. Turai is free, the default champion you have, having used all 4 I’d say he’s the best. Very defensive, decent damage, reasonably fast.

They always could anyway. You have 2 minutes before the arena closes. The names of your team are at the top left of the screen. You can also see the names of anyone who wrote in the chat box and whisper to them more easily. Feel like forming a PUG? You always could, just get a note of who was in the team, whisper to them in HotM and see who wants to join.

The one problem is the 15 seconds stuck in the arena. If clicking no or clicking the button above the mini map got you straight out of the arena then it would be good. For all the times that people form a PUG with their team mates getting locked in at the end of every match is annoying. I don’t even see the reason for disabling the button above the mini map for 15 seconds. Somebody wants to leave the match, no point in locking them in. The other players want them, they can whisper to them to ask.

How about just having the button on the bottom right corner above the mini map work like it did before? Click it as soon as the match ends and you leave the match. No point in holding people in for the time. Click the yes button, fair enough, you can team with any of the others who wanted to do the same. Click either no or the button in the bottom right corner, well theres the answer. No point in keeping you in the arena any longer.

I was on the treb, an ele could march the door breakers up to our outer gate, I was raining it down on them, usually hitting the DBs twice with the treb is enough to get them down. With the Ele healing them it was as if the treb was doing nothing. Something needed to be done about their insane healing ability.
Something needed to be done. Sentinel and Soldier made you able to sustain yourself but you could hardly march the door breakers through a rain of trebuchet fire as if nothing was happening with them. With high healing power some classes can.

Healing power amulets with healing power runes still exist so this wont necessarily go away.

Yeah, I can see a lot of them switching to Magi now, maybe if it goes as well.

That does sound good but maybe to make it so it isn’t exclusive to the treb giving npcs like guards, door breakers and archers a damage bar as well as a health bar. Maybe would be best to not give Lords this handicap. Not sure if Mist Champions should have it, maybe.
The health bar as we know goes down while the NPCs are attacked, reaches 0 they die, they can be healed. How about a damage bar that goes up more slowly than the health bar goes down? Players attacking, Trebuchet hits and any other form of attack on the NPC raises the damage bar. If the damage bar reaches 100% the NPC dies regardless of health bar. Maybe say 3 Trebuchet hits would be enough for Door Breakers. So 2 hits will kill them if they aren’t being healed(health bar reaches 0), 3 will kill them regardless(Damage bar reaches 100%). Health bar can be healed, Damage bar, maybe permanent, maybe slowly going down out of combat but can’t be healed.

I did suggest that, getting rid of Magi or bringing back Cleric but nerfing the healing ability Druids and Tempests have. Door breakers, I suppose guards as well were the problem, they could keep the guards alive a lot longer than I think they should have been able to. Though that would usually be against the player, not the Trebuchet, unless you are a good shot with the treb.

Hi, So dungeon is updated, they give 80 tokens now. But pvp reward track only gives 60. So please give the same amount of tokens for pvp reward track.

one of the reasons they gave 80 was to make doing dungeons more attractive. PVP doesn’t need an extra 20 pve tokens to make it more attractive. Same currency , different goals.

Aren’t they giving less gold for doing dungeons now?
With the reward track, I never really made a connection that because you get 80 in the dungeon should be 80 in the reward track. It gives you three free dungeon weapons and a piece of armour for doing the complete reward track. So less dungeon tokens but free merchandise that the tokens would buy.

AFK/leaver punishments should be escalating, not outright heavy/very strict.
We also need a sytem that tracks player movement to determine whether or not somebody is actively moving/using skills while sitting in base to prevent the afk tag but do so to the detriment of others in the game (because some kittens are in fact doing that).

To begin with, remaining players in the AFKer’s side already don’t lose pips if somebody has akitten for some seconds (i think like 50-70) + don’t forget that, a player will receive 2 pips after ending a 3(or more)-loss streak, which is freaking great and should not be overlooked. So it is not THAT bad. In fact, it is already vastly superior to other games’ existing systems.

Bonus for remaining players in the losing side? At the very least these players should not lose MMR and maybe something receive small like an extra chest or dye. If you leave the (at the time) 4v5 game, you should not be eligible for the dye or chest.

Escalating punishment: Game should track frequency of AFK/leaves per player over a particular period of time.
Disconnecting once or twice a month should not kitten somebody’s account track record. Nor should it get them banned for 24 hours.
However, a person who consistently AFKs/leaves should be properly kittened.

Disclaimer: Yes, some people consistently disconnect (DC) and it isn’t their fault. Don’t queue ranked then. It isn’t our fault either. And, if it was to weigh the “fault level” between DC-ing person and the other 4, the other 4 are definitely on the “not at fault” side of things more than the DC-er.

Ok but now lets speak with logic now. 10 players get in a ranked match. Now 2 out of the 5 players on one team are either trolling their teammates or just don’t have a clue on how to PvP at all. So now those two players just run far and “INSTANTLY” die to one player. Ok no problem they died once…nope they continued to go from spawn just to die to that one player over and over and over again. Ok now score is 25 – 200 with the same two players continuing to run and die. So now one of the players on the team bares witness to the two knuckle heads and decides, no matter how well he/she can do they can only hold one point at best while the other two are feeding the enemy team kills and points on the score. So he/she decides to just AFK.

Ok after reading that are you still willing to punish the person for AFKing for the remainder of that match? Or are you willing to temporary purge these two players from Ranked queue, based on the video evidence that they lost the team the match far before said player started to afk during that match?

That would be worse case if two players are running like moths to a flame into a point that is just being defended by one player. I’ve seen people stay in base though when the score is leaning towards the other team winning. That’s what people don’t like. Leans the enemies way, ok, no more point in playing, no point in trying to make a comeback. Earlier today I was in a match that looked like the enemy was going to win from the beginning. They were ahead on points, our outer gate was down quickly. We got theirs own later, both inner gates stood strong for most of the match. Although it looked like the match was theirs for the first 12 minutes none of us gave up. About 3 minutes left we overtook with points, got their inner gate down while ours stood for the rest of the match. Ended up about 90 points ahead then killed their lord with 30 seconds left, though with the difference in points we would have won by time up even if we hadn’t killed the lord.
If 2 players are running like moths to a flame and it’s 25-200 then maybe it’s fair to AFK and save time, if it’s just leaning one way then theres always the chance of turning it around.

The idea of replaving them with a queuing player would be fine, maybe give the guy a choice to decline without getting dishonour and his place back in the queue after the match if he accepts.
I don’t agree with freezing a player in the other team. Been so long since I did Conquest but say your doing Temple, Is it 8:30 for Tranquility? Say it’s 8:40 left, somebody disconnects on the other team, your running to get to where Tranquility appears, next thing you know your frozen.
Or 12 mins 5 secs to go in Stronghold, your heading towards the mist essence that is about to be you will soon be able to commune with. Guy in the other team DCs, you freeze. Enemy comes and communes at 11:45 left, replacement arrives at 11:30. It was by right yours, you would have got it before the enemy reached you to knock you off and you didn’t even get a chance to fight them for it. All because of an AFKer on the other team. Things happen at certain times in matches and getting frozen can really mess things up.

I don’t see how giving losers a reward will help. It would just encourage more afkers.

It would give the 4 who are still playing a reward and nothing to the AFKer. Didn’t say anything about just losers getting a reward, I’m sure we can all think of times we’ve won 4v5. Give the outnumbered bonus even if the team with 4 wins. They tried to win while outnumbered and succeeded.

I play Stronghold, not interested in Conquest any more. Tempests need a nerf though. The way they can heal guards and door breakers. Door breakers are usually a couple of hits with the Trebuchet. I once had a match where the tempest just kept healing, They survived like five hits and got our door down.

How about giving non AFKers what they have in WvW

Outnumbered
The enemies greatly outnumber your forces, be careful out there!
+50% Participation
+20% Magic Find
+25% World Experience
Take no armor damage on death

Could translate to
+50% Reward Track Progress
+20% Magic Find
+25% Rank Points
Lose no pips if you lose. MMR unaffected on loss

If they had it that this could come into effect automatically if someone disconnects or spends say 1 minute in base. Like the WvW bonus it doesn’t give you an advantage over the enemy team but might encourage the other 4 to keep playing.

Every time I’ve duelled in WvW the person added me to party and asked before we started. I haven’t seen one using a bow a the only form of communication before fighting.
If that was his only form of communication, a bow that you might not even notice maybe it’s just a mark of respect before the fight.

-5 score for each death

Btw, there also should be no score granted for double capping empty points.

You already get 5 points per player kill. Same thing as taking away 5 from the team that had a player die. If thy did both I guess it would mean the difference between the two scores would be increased or decreased depending on whether the team that got the kill was winning or losing at the time by 10 instead of 5.

Double capping empty points, well I’m not interested in Conquest anyway but wouldn’t taking away the score for double capping be pointless? That could really be used against a team. Say if you see two players on the enemy team going to their close, inform your team, they avoid far for the match. Your close is easier to defend or retake than it is for them. If far is their colour but not scoring because it was double capped might as well just leave it, they are at a disadvantage as the point nearest to their spawn point will never score unless you cap it and they take it back.

As many have said, if 1 is on Treb and one or two is defending it, then you should just let them bomb. If you can’t rotate that fight then it is not the maps fault. Sorry.

If 2 are defending the treb it should be the easiest match. With only 2 on the field tehy would be lucky to cap and hold one node.
