If you want a heavy set or armour for doing WvW there is always the Triumphant reward track(or the dungeon ones but they obviously aren’t exclusive to WvW) Triumphant heavy armour looks pretty cool, only problem is for male Norns and Humans, you lose your beard.

Take it away from ranked? lol, it was always the 3rd game played in free & paid tournaments back in the day. Not like it’s some random hotjoin map.

Also, if there’s only 3 of them capping points, you should be beating them in teamfights. They can only treb 1 point at a time. Keeping 2 at treb is just silly & an easy way to lose. Unless they’re playing against you, apparently.

I’d have to agree about that. Once you see one is defending the treb the whole match it is practically 4v5, well 3 in the field, one on treb. Plus you get the warning when they are firing on your position so you can dodge.
So instead of running to destroy the trebuchet focussing on capping points the enemy would be badly outnumbered. Unless these 3 are elites should be an easy match.

I thought this couldnt happen anymore in PvP.

I thought the change was only that 5 solos could not be up against a 5 man premade. that was 5 solos vs 4 man premade and a solo.

Players would find such messages disruptive. I, for one, would hate if I was ever called to teleport to PvE.

Isn’t it teleported from PVE to WvW?
I have to say I agree with that it would be disruptive. I getting invited to a squad over and over(was in a WvW guild at one point.) When I was clearly doing something else. Once was queing for PvP, the other time was doing Tequatl.
On the guild panel he could clearly see I was in HotM and then Sparkfly Fen during Teq spawn time. Even said “Doing Teq justnow, will join after.” He wrote back, “We need you now.”

Couple of thoughts from a mainly PVE player

2. WvW and PVE should be tightly connected. For example if situation on BLs and EB is bad for your server, you get major debuff in PvE like penalties to gold gain, magic find, higher WP costs, higher TP fees etc.

That would cause a few problems:
People who don’t WvW would suffer over a part of the game they aren’t interested in.
You need to queue to enter WvW some times. Say your server is doing badly, what happens if a huge group of people who don’t do WvW very often decide to enter the mist and try to fix things. Meanwhile the players that could make a difference are stuck queing to get in.
So it would force people who only want to PvE into WvW and put the server on a downward spiral.
Also the price of something on the Trading Post isn’t decided by Anet, it’s the players buying and selling. For example Radiant Turai Ossa is 37g 98s 97c to buy somebody got it, it’s higher than any placed order but it is the lowest price they are willing to part with it for. Not so long ago it was 60g. It was the player selling it at the time, they chose to sell for that price.

It was said in another thread that a person got the reward track filled in by watching a movie and occasionally recapping the same point.
Kind of the problem with it, because it is a certain amount every 5 mins if you get to 195 and afk, only participating the bare minimum to stop it decaying for say 2 hours you will get your reward just as fast as somebody who spends 2 hours in a squad, taking camps, towers, spending most of the 2 hours actively playing. I’d say if the cap for reward track progress was higher but decay for not participating was faster.

They won a couple of matches against you and that makes them trolls? Clearly a 5 man premade team. Well every member of them had the same last name apart from the top one and the last part of his name was similar. And they all look the same. Why do you think they deserve to be reported?
5 friends decide it would be fun to make mesmers that all look the same and had similar names. They get good at working as a team in PVP. We’ve all had games where the team never gets one point captured, sucks but it happens. Working well as a team doesn’t make them trolls.
As for the dancing, well 5 guys dancing in a line in HotM is hardly a bad thing. Characters dance all the time.

Stronghold is a great idea with a serious flaw. Players should ne be able to kill guards. Because of this and this alone, virtually all stronghold matches just become about which team can successfully bomb rush all the way to the lorn in the first couple minutes of the game.

Stronghold was a lot of fun before people figured out rushing was the optimal strategy and the relative uselessness of archers.

If we had to use archers to kill the guards (similar to needing creeps to kill towers in the early game of traditional MOBAs) the game would be a lot more fun.

As it is now, you could almost just take out all the the doors and the game would play almost exactly the same.

The AI of archers would need to be changed if they were the only way to kill guards. I sometimes use archers. If there are still guards alive, I have supplies but I’m not going that way for whatever reason I might spawn archers, door breakers are like moths to a flame if guards are still alive. If the player couldn’t hurt guards and it needed to be archers though the archers would need to be more focussed on guards. Kind of like guards are to door breakers, you can be fighting a guard, a door breaker gets near, the guard goes for the door breaker. Archers would need to be the same to guards, maybe engage in combat but not able to follow for any great distance. I’ve seen them go up to the trebuchet or into the supplies depot. Not what the person who spawned them would have wanted.

Who all would be interested in a stronghold guild?

I would be if you are thinking of making one. I actually started one, “Champions of the Dusk,” the name alone suggests it was going to be aStronghold guild but never got round to advertising. Then my friends from the guild we started together when we first started playing started playing again(I’d been the only active member of the guild for a while) pretty much abandoned the idea of running CotD after that.

Not really an important stat, though maybe if it was renamed most played. Or if there was a drop down menu you could choose from for favourite. Most voted would be more accurate for a person’s favourite but if it doesn’t show up as an option to be voted for enough wouldn’t work.

I think you meant Legacy however, it’s an honest mistake. Legacy is simply the best map in the game. Some of my favorite moments are on that map, such as Impact Striking Lord just as he went down (first two phases were hit when he was standing and timed Finishing Blow to come after the downed temporary invulnerability) or harassing gate to keep certain opponents near it leading to outnumbered situations in our favor on nodes.

He said it randomly assigns 150 points, could mean forest with 6 creature kills. It is sometimes a problem because either team can kill the creatureyou could have it on it’s last bit of health then a lucky git on the other team runs up and hits it with a ranged attack, gets the killing blow and the 25 points. Unless that has been changed, been a while since I did forest. Might be fairer if it was designed to give the points to the team that did the most damage provided at least one is still alive and in combat with it.

Wouldn’t it lead to a lot of people declining and wasting the time of those who accept? Say you queue, enter PVE, get involved in an event, get the match ready message. Well depends on the event, I don’t think many people would hesitate to accept halfway through Snow Norn Army but what about the big ones like Tequatl?

5 respawns a day? What if you get a good player who has used up their respawns in previous games and doesn’t want to pay for more? They get killed once and now your playing 4v5. Everything better?
I suppose people would play differently if there was a limited amount of lives, not just throw one away. I can think of times I knew I’d be defeated but thought it worth it. Like 3 enemies at the mist escence, I believe I can commune long enough before they can defeat me. Sure enough after it unless one of my team mates joins in I know I’m going down. If I’m successful 20 points to my team and a mist champion(speaking of which any news on the next one, Jora? Eir?) 5 points to the enemy team for their player kill. i’d say it was worth letting them get a player kill.

Got to say it, when your in a busy server and trying to take a camp quickly theres nothing worse than a caravan appearing and halting the process while it is in the circle, giving enemies more time to get to the camp.
How about if Dolyaks could be changed to not count in halting camp capture progress or maybe not spawning while the Supervisor is dead?

I’ll agree that if you want to try a new build should try it in unranked first, then at least you will know more about using it . The idea for dislikes though is terrible, shameful is what it is. If a player blames a loss on another player then they could dislike them regardless, do you really find that fair? Or we might get players who every time they lose a match they dislike their 4 team mates. Or one person picks a player to start blaming a loss on and another player joins in on the team chat. 2 dislikes whether it was their fault or not, got to go 3 games walking on eggshells hoping you don’t get another dislike. That’s why I’m against the players being able to vote against other players, it would be abused.
About the example you gave at the beginning where you lost 200/500. You said you suddenly realised it was 200/500 while holding mid. The top of the screen requires a bit of attention, the score, what points are yours and what ones are the enemies… Whose to say the blame falls squarely on the shoulders of your 3 team mates? You and your friend beat them at mid while outnumbered. Maybe the enemy decided to try for near and far when you were defending mid, maybe occasionally sending a player to get mid if they could, if not they would provide a feint to keep you at mid. Meanwhile it’s 4-5 against 3 fighting for near and far.

Has it been updated so that people are getting longer time outs for dishonour? If not an hour timeout would take a lot of abandoning matches and missing queues to get. Saying “PC crashed, got an hour timeout.” How many times did it “crash” before that?

If you have an hour of dishonor, you deserve it and more imho. There’s an obvious pattern if you’ve reached the point of getting an hour for abandoning a match. Now, if the people who sit at spawn the entire match throwing insults at their team because they are down 40 points could get a days dishonor, I’d be super happy.

People who stay in the spawn point the whole match are annoying and no more helpful than one who just disconects. If they throw insults at the team then maybe report for verbal abuse. Though if there was a dishonour system for staying in base I’m sure they’d find a way around that without helping their team. Like feeding the enemy team or simply leaving base and doing nothing.

Could be saving up the orange reward track progress potions for an event like Wintersday or for when the next Mist Champion is released so you can get it quickly.
If it is for the 10ap, 2g and Spirit shards and you aren’t saving up the orange potions might as well just play a class you are good with. Usually you can lose a match and still get the two that aren’t about winning with a certain class. Theres usually something in PVE or WvWthat will get your third daily quickly, Vista viewers, land claimers, caravan disruptors.

all four stats are fine.
all four stats with both 560 vitality and toughness are fine.

the problem lies with the abundance of defensive abilities, not the stats from the amulets.

If you remove vitality and/or toughness stats in amulets we will just be back in the burst meta again where the person who lands his skills first wins. (Welcome back Thieves and other stealth burst classes)

And to the guy who said precision without ferocity is useless. Sorry but you lost a lot of credibility there. So many on crit traits and sigils plus base fereoity gives 150% crit damage so 50% extra damage is useless?

I didn’t say useless. Doesn’t Soldier have higher power than Paladin anyway so the DPS would be pretty close? For all that the precission Paladin has offers I’d rather have the extra toughness and vitality Soldier would give.

Mercinary is being deleted now anyway. I’d say Cleric was a bigger problem, or whichever amulet gives that OP healing ability.

I would like to see tracks that give Mist Champion based finishers as a final reward. Could have it as it is with the miniature, unlocking the Mist Champion Gets the track for the mini, could have it that unlocking the mini gets unlocks the track for the finisher.

How about bringing back Soldier? Paladin, precision isn’t worth much without ferocity. Soldier was a good power, vitality, toughness amulet. Or getting rid of Cleric, that amulet gives Elementalists a far more annoying healing ability than the defence Soldier gives to classes.

Have the condis been cut in half? I thought it was just Moa that was reduced to 6 seconds. Anyway, Chronomancer has been nerfed, maybe wasn’t what I wanted but it should be left alone now that it has been done. Or given back the 10 second moa.

CS isn’t even as OP as people are making it out to be, plenty times I have been interrupted during casting the signet of humiliation. , missed the chance to case during the time or the first time you cast they dodge it, gives you another chance to cast. I hope they don’t change it.

To me they should have a player voting system like other games do. Maybe even have community volunteers to ref. matches. The tankers in the ranked matches ruin the game.

Player voting wouldn’t work, you’d get people voting players who had tried but not played the way they wanted them to. Or a team loses, some stuck up guy decides to vote the other 4 players for dishonour because they blame the loss on them.
I’d be against banning players forever, especially if there is the chance people who got cut off rather than disconnecting on purpose would suffer because of it. I’d say the absolute worst punishment for dishonour, and I mean would need a lot of dishonour for it that would be fair would be barred from ranked for the rest of the season. Unranked, let them do their timeout then play.

The “I win” button needs to go! When you get Moa’d 4 times in a match, it’s getting to be too freak’n much. And, let’s not just put this on Mesmer’s as it’s directed at Engi’s too.

When a match can be up to 15 minutes and possibly more than one Mesmer in the opposing team.

After reading her page on the wiki I’m thinking Jora would be a good Mist Champion. Possibly even better than Eir, I suppose both are the master race so if either were added it would be good.
For Jora what I thought would be cool is if her Elite skill was to shapeshift into bear form. Implying she achieved her goal.

It is “Elite” specialisation, the original example was have it that a warrior stops being able to use a greatsword if they become a berserker and daredevil loses the ability to wield daggers. I can’t imagine how it could be explained that a character can use a weapon from level 1 then just loses the ability to wield it when they are level 80 and stronger. Thief starts off with a dagger. So they lose the ability to wield the weapon they could use since tutorial when they become what is meant to be stronger?

Leave elite specializations alone.

I don’t like the idea of Eir or Tybalt even because they were beloved chars in stories and we have to attack and kill them in Stronghold. I don’t want to have to be attacking and killing Eir every dam day in Stronghold please.

Are they staff members in the video? Do they know for sure/have a say or is it just speculation?
I’d say 2 classes that need their healing nerfed is the Elementalist and Druid. Especially the Elementalist, they can heal allies too fast.
