I have been a long time lover of the healing kit, but for WvW I have mixed up a few things and wanted to give our HT a try.

My understanding it is better burst heals but not seeing that. I am set with full exotic, mix of Knights and valks. run rifle S/D build (pretty standard build)

So my understanding is when low on hp’s, drop the HT and jump shot into the field and get aoe big heal. But not seeing that. I see a 2k’ish initial heal and small regen but that is it.

So what I am I doing wrong

Well I think you do discount the amount of dps you can get from the rifle. Plus my whole thing is staying at distance with this build.

“perfect world” slot in ’nades. But I really dislike the ground targeting of them and while I do run them at times (ie tower/keep take and defense) open field and running around stuff, I am using the rams head or tool kit. Both, for me, are more fun, but understand not optimal dps.

I played also but since I liked Chaos more, I went with the Magnus (the mirror for the Engineering)..

There were a few “right” things Mythic did with those classes that would be nice if Anet stole..

when it comes to turrets, I would add the buff of increased damage the longer you were in “x” units of it. Warhammer it was 20% damage buff, which would be too much here. But say stay in 900 units of your turrets, you get 10% damage buff and/or random boon that would match the turrets effect.

Well I finished up and hit 80 since I first posted this.

Right now (and pretty fluid) I went with rifle and the static discharge build. went off the board a little and went with 3 gadgets (rocket boots, goggles and rams head) with a mix of knights/valk gear.

Been doing mostly roaming, small size wvw over on Yaks. Not really zerging it much. So far, I enjoy it. The last gadget might be overkill and could see moving from rams head to took kit instead.

But I am taking, while having some ok burst. power is 3k ish, crit rate is 50% ..

My engineer is only level 64 but I have leveled over half that while doing WvWvW.

I have tried various combos and of course,understand I am upleveled so I won’t really see the pros and cons of various builds fully, yet.

that said, I have not done much with the static discharge build yet.

I like rifle very much and this should have synergy, right?

what are common builds. Assume 30 in the last line for that and quicker toolbelt recharges. What kits/traits do you run with this?

yeah I love my mini’s from last x-mas. Have the griffon and the charr mini soldier. but I wvw mostly and losing them all the time, I enter water (which is a bunch) is annoying

ANet won’t do anything about it. but other players will. I know on TC (very popular server) there are handful of players that solo the champs “out of order” just to annoy the train.

I blame ANet for setting up a system that has that much reward for so little risk. It is sloppy and lazy on their end.

It does give a horrible impression to anyone new to the game, but honestly, they have many really new people? Maybe they do, /shrug.

I would just nerf the rewards for any champs under say 40th level.

I am on Yaks Bend and play mostly WvW. Not 100% of the time, but say at least a few hours a night .

Disclaimer, I spend most of time in our borderlands or the other two realms. I am not a huge fan of EB.

That said, never seen /map chat talking helping one server beat another. Not in voice chat either.

I mean literally, nobody is talking about doubleteaming a server or anything.

The main reason I run Great sword is for swoop and the ability to get out of range quick.

(play mostly WvW btw)..

I read sword you can do this similar with the monarch leap.. How do you actually pull this off? Do you clear your target after the first jump back, turn around and use it?

can’t buy gems.. tried two different cards, just times out.. Stopped there, did not want repeated charges (checked both though, and nothing pending).

anyone else having an issue buying gems?

There are lots of things to spend karma on… that’s like saying, I have 10,000g and nothing to spend it on… no you have lots of stuff to spend it on, you are just choosing not to.

umm yeah not into this for grinding the craftings stuff and legendary. the 1 million karma is just from playing from launch..

if we could convert to gems that be GREAT! karma just seems like a waste for the normal player. the million of it was not hard to do in the year of launch.. just nothing to spend it on.

your traits are a little odd assuming you are doing roaming wvw as you said..

This is WvW only. I just leveled up pve with my sword/p and shortbow. While great in PvE they suffer in WvW (to me)

for p/d and d/p wvw running, do you suggest a full condition build? Or should I run zerk/valk?

I am on Jade Quarry but it is PACKED and just zerging 24/7. I have queues of 45 min to just go to my own BL.

Like to move to an active server, but one that is a little less populated yet still get some action.

The issue seems to lie with you and not Anet at this point

80 now and running d/d with knights and some zerker gear.

WpvP only and wondering if there is a build for d/d that compliments when I move to staff for keep defense and/or open field zergy stuff. I try not to zerg surf, but there are times the staff is just better then d/d since we don’t have gap closers really.

I think 10 toughness for marks. Anything else?

Sorry but I NEVER lose my pets in wpvp or spvp that fast.

First off, learn to swap, learn when to f3 and also when to regen and heal them up.

And I run the dps pets like the birds and cats for pvp and don’t have them die like the op is overstating..

I run only 20 in BM. Works really well.

And yeah, I can spout out my resume on hours played, classes etc if you all want. Because someone will come and say I am level 15 or never spvp or wpvp etc..

BUT and a huge one, is that if your target dodges or you have to dodge you lose all your dps on rapid fire .. And in pvp you dodge a ton. Or they dodge ..

Plus you are rarely at max range and in ideal range for auto attack.. Sure there are times, but a ton less chances then using Shortbow.

Ranger.. I am 50/50 vs them and that is fine. Bird pet, root elite, swap to GS when they stealth.

You get skill points each “level” after 80 and you can use those as currency for other aspects of the game.

Nothing to do with chrome.

When you set the ui to small you get this.

I am used to it by now, but you can swap to medium UI settings just to shop/sell

Just use guard. When in a tower, I swap that out over another trait.

Works fine and only 30 sec cooldown.

Drop a drake and hit f2 and watch the numbers pile up. Hit your regen few seconds after you send him down via guard and enjoy

Humans only.. They look the best, have ton less clipping issues and “move” with a good feeling of speed (ie not clunky and slow like norns, charr)

Just want to get as much fps. I run about 30 on my laptop and is fine for most all things. Smoke is a kitten on my rig and huge zergs. I expect the zerg issues.

But want to be sure I have done all I can to max my fps.

Main issue with LB in wpvp is dodges. If they dodge during your rapid fire, you lose a ton of dps. Same if you are forced to dodge while using it.

There is just too many drop offs of dps with LB in wpvp. Things are too fluid

My main is 80 mesmer with a TON of hours in pvp (both types)..

Few things..

1. Roll into shatters
2. Watch confusion and wait it out
3. If grouped, mark the mesmer
4. Clones don’t have off hand weapons. So if you face sword/off hand mesmer, watch for that. Clones won’t have the off hand
5. Clones won’t dodge. The guy dodging to spawn clones, he is the mesmer

Have not heard ONE word from Anet about this..

How they are not hearing all of the issues, is beyond me.

Our mesmer class is broken totally right now..

There is now almost 2-3 second delay before any of our izerks, iwardens, etc actually do anything.

It is game breaking for our class..

Could you see a thief that waits 3 secs for stealth to kick in, or a guardian that has to wait 3 seconds for their virtues to fire?

It is a huge bug for our class.

How has the game gone uphill then? There are less people playing and everyone is shuffling themselves to that new dungeon. So much harder to get a group to do any PvE content that is non dungeon.

Actually, this was explained by an Arenanet employee that it isn’t indicative of how many players are actively online at that time.

I’m referring to how before Nov15, there was the ever present issue of player congestion in Orr, and that there was simply no reason to go elsewhere in the game. Arenanet’s solution, to introduce FotM, simply solidifies this problem by adding another tier of loot only accessible via one dungeon in the game, with horrendous grind. There’s simply no-one in the mid level areas, and with good reason too.

Then why am I actually seeing people in the mid level areas? No matter what zone I went to there were still people doing events with me. There is still the same population. In level 70-80 zone people are still doing Claw of Jormag in big numbers. You can catch groups doing events in level 50 zones… The only less populated place is 2/3 maps of Orr and even then I’ve seen 6 people there. Starter areas are booming in population too.

I want to see a time stamp on those photos or your just making crap up. Anyone can post a photo and claim it’s from a certain time when it doesn’t have a time stamp.

I included my calendar into it while printscreening. If you want you can a) check it for yourself b) I can runout into a random zone and photograph people for you.

They can change the number of people to make it show high at anytime though.

If numbers dip you can change high at 2000 to 1250 to high to give the impression of volume. Numbers lie

Works fine for me.. I am scepter/focus and Staff build and it is always great.

There is zero need for weapon swapping. It would make the class op’ed.

Think about it, for real.

If we get weapon swapping it should come at at a 100% increase to attunement swapping.

Why grind out low level pve?

Heck this game says boost to 80 in 2/3 of the areas you can play in.

And even in some pve (aka Mad King) you got boosted to 80.

You all have some rainbow bridge of dreams thinking the path to max level should be something special..

There is a solid reason you are not seeing tons of folks around to play with as you level alts..

Repeating the same stuff is not fun, no matter the game..

Tip..

Hit the newbie zones..

Do some person quests..

Powerlevel alt via JC, Cooking and Artificing.

Be around 50 and then you can play pvp, catch up on personal story, or rack in xp in zones with more folks..

Everyone is doing it.. Zero reason to do 1-40 anymore if you don’t want to..

If you do, cool. Enjoy and have fun.. But don’t complain if you pass up ways to level up quickly..

Speaking of alts only, of course. New players (which is sad as game is not old) will have issues if they don’t buy gold..
