They should just make it so with Signet of the Beastmaster passive effects of signets affect allies and active affect both pet and ranger by default.

Why legendaries should be account bound? All weapons in game are character bound on equip.
p.s. You can spend some gems and transmute legendary to any character.
When you really think about the longbow, its the best vulnerability stacker in the game and raises the group’s damage by a significant margin.
Can you stack and maintain 20+ stacks of AoE vuln with longbow? I would like to see the video!
p.s. Check grenades engies you will be very sad when you see what they can do with vuln stacks
not mentioning that he is not getting any might/fury from group and his dps is lower just because of that. A good group comp should easily maintain perma 20+ stacks of might and fury
If you camping 1200+ spot you not getting any party buffs and not providing any buffs for party. This is the reason to be insta kicked in a good group. Any weapon that can only be used at 300+ range is very selfish by nature and useless in party from a team play perspective.
You can blame players but imho blame is on you, and I used to main a ranger and kinda know what I’m talking about
I don’t post much here any more, but I’d just like to say I’m deeply concerned for SoR.
I don’t know what internal issues are going on, but I do not have enough animosity towards our “rivalry” that I’d ever wish the collapse of a server. You provide competition in T1. Something that no other server short of JQ is capable of.
All I’m going to say is if you don’t start to show up and fight, the situation will only get worse. Tempers will flare and -some- guilds will probably look to leave the server or the game out of frustration.
I am begging you guys to come out and fight us in the numbers I know you can field. It isn’t fun for anyone with the performance that has gone on over the past 7 days. Where did the fire and dedication go that was there through the first 3 days last week?
To be clear, I’m not trolling, just asking you all to come out and fight.

I dont think you should worry about SoR at all. I cannot speak for the server or guild so I will speak for myself.
I am NA west coast player, we running with guild every night 5pst-9pst as usual and having tons of fun with our 20-25man group! Outside of that timezone you can consider myself a pug, and as a pug I see no incentive to support current league system. I was quite surprised when I figured that transfers were not locked and servers can buy large guilds in order to win matchup mid season. This is a factor of a huge imbalance and hopefully Anet will learn this lesson and do something about it for the upcoming WvW seasons.

I feel like these changes only force us to go deeply into Arcane and Water. I am talking from staff WvW ele perspective.
Arcane. Now Im forced to have at least 20 in Arcane instead of 10 prepatch
Elementalist is forced to go into Arcane not because it reduces attunement swap cooldown but because of traits V, VI, XIII (must have if you staff), XI. While XI is debatable and only used to full potential if you are very experienced player, V is an absolute must have. Moving it to Master tier you forcing us to invest at least 20 into arcane (it was possible to go 10 prepatch)
Water You moving two essential traits into master tier: V and I. So now im forced to choose – either I reduce cooldown on water skills or remove condition while attuned to water. This hurts WvW staff ele a lot actually. Basically again – you forcing us go deeply into Water, at least 20 points.
Other 30 points can be put into earth to get AoE stability and diamond skin.
So basically new WvW meta build might be 0/0/30/20/20. We trade AoE condition removal for AoE stability, and Adept Water trait becomes useless.
Conclusion and Suggestion:
- Do not put both water V and I into master tier.
- Move Arcana V trait into minor Arcana 5 or Arcana 15 since this trait is the main reason why people even invest into Arcana, its not negotiable and its not a matter of “choice” at all.
Shark only pops if you crit with #3, other skills do not pop shark on crit.
IMHO, the easiest solution to current WvW population issues:
1. Remove PPT from objectives. Add points per capture. This with defeat the purpose of late night PvDoor. Even if stacked server PvDoored entire map all night it will give zero points to them.
2. Add more emphasis on killing players. Orb buff is a step in the right direction. The final score should be defined by which server killed more enemy players.
3. Balance map queues so that big servers cannot stack full map (166 players?) against small numbers. Balance it the same way as it is now in PvP. If server A has X players on the map and server B has X+Y players, no one from server B can join map untill server A fills up the gap in population. All upset people from server B can go gank each other in new overflow map or transfer off to server A to balance general population out.
Movement speed is hard capped at 133%. You cannot move faster than 133% currently.
You might want to inform the Elementalists who get a massive 1 second speed buff when switching to Air attunement. Or you could just be wrong.
I am an Elementalist myself and believe me that “massive” speed buff is not that massive as you think. It is only noticeable in combat and while you crippled/chilled. It only lasts for 1 sec and you basically use it to escape on RtL.
Movement speed is hard capped at 133%. You cannot move faster than 133% currently. 50% speed increase only makes sense if you crippled or chilled – only in that case you will actually benefit from this bonus.

This was recorded around 1 month ago after JQ ported into inner after we did a thorough sweep, so I decided to turn FRAPS on for the second sweep once we took it back. This lasted for a good 10+ minutes

How did you find that SG mesmer? Any way of dealing damage to him while he is inside the wall? Like wave of wrath or smth? Guess we need to relearn to make “proper sweep”

Your issue is only the case on low pop servers / unbalanced matchups. You can try out any T1 server – things are a bit different here. We actually holding our keeps waypointed on every BL and have scouts/yak escorts 24/7.
1. Class balance in PVE/WvW (it doesnt exist currently since classes are balanced around sPvP capture point minigame). Specifically: poor state of Ranger class in all aspects of the game.
2. Role of Commander Tags in WvW. Currently commander tags are widely used in PvE only. WvW commanders prefer to tag down so they attract less people not on VOIP. WvW people straight ignore current commander system, they need something like raid frames/private commander tag etc. Raid frames functionality kinda exists in sPvP but is not used outside of it
3. Dragon content – is it gonna be instanced in the future? I love new Tequatl but complex content like this should be instanced. Currently on US servers no one does Tequatl in “open world”. The only guild I know of is killing Tequatl daily multiple times but doing it in “private overflows” – this is the only way it can be done. I guess I can say that the idea of “hard open world mega boss” failed at least in open world part.
It depends on what fits your playstyle!
If you like heavy melee combat – go warrior/guardian. Warrior seems to be the most loved class by Anet, they keep buffing it with every patch. Guardian has always been the best support class in game (PvE/PvP/WvW) and never been nerfed so far.
If you like ranged aspect of the game – go with ele/mesmer. Ele more like healing/boon support, mesmer has a bunch of unique tricks (timewarp, portal, nullfield, veil)
Necro is only considered valuable in WvW/PvP
Thief – PvP/WvW trolling, undesirable in PvE* due to lack of group support and rallybotting in every single dungeon
*by PvE I mean dungeons, cause it doesnt really matter who you bring into open world content. No one can ever kick you or evaluate your performance anyways

Let me enlighten you, in almost any dungeon (with rare exception) bosses do “one shot aoe attacks” every 5-10 sec. Pet swap cooldown = 20 sec. After you swap your pet twice you are left with dead pet for 60 sec, hence losing 40% DPS. This is a “dodge or die” game, it differs a bit from what you currently see in Queensdale at level 19
Please don’t think that you are smarter than every other single ranger on this forums playing for 1 year+. Believe me my friend, the idea of pet swap came to us a long time ago. Unfortunately it just doesn’t work. 20-60 sec pet swap cooldown is just too long for Lupicus throwing off 1 shot AOEs. For example Ele can swap their class mechanics as often as every 8 sec without any death penalty or whatnot, they also have trait that resets that tiny 8sec cooldown immediately on crit. See the difference?

I fail to understand this… are you guys complaining because pets die to fast in Player vs. Environment? Because that hasn’t been my experience (granted the most AoE spamming I have seen on my Ranger atm is the Frost Maw Boss as I am only level 19, but still).
I stopped reading here. Level your character, enter any dungeon or Tequatl fight and come back talk to me how pets amazingly survive any fight
Every single balance patch encourages rangers to write walls of text about what’s wrong with class, also all kinds of petitions, threats etc.

I did it myself on Oct 10. It was before the last patch but i highly doubt they changed anything about it. I submitted a ticket about this gimmick awhile ago and got a “working as intended” answer from support team.
Yes it is expensive but its nothing compared to cost of legendary itself
Just saying that if you have legendaries soulbound to ranger and they are holding you back – don’t you worry! Just move em and enjoy the game!
After the latest patch many people asking how to transmute Legendary from Ranger to another character.
It is still possible! (tested by myself on Oct 10, Incinerator)
What you gonna need:
- Legendary
- Transmutation Crystal (40 gems)
- Transmutation Splitter (300 gems)
- a bit of silver (not ore)
1. Log into your Ranger, grab Transmutation Stone from your bank
2. Go to Western Ward Waypoint in LA, then head to karma vendor SW from it.
3. Buy corresponding white weapon from Weaponsmith vendor
4. Use Transmutation Crystal and combine your Legendary and that white weapon. IMPORTANT: pick Legendary appearance, white trash weapon stats and keep sigil from your Legendary if you need it
Result: you have Account Bound weapon purple quality with trash stats and sigil
5. Place that account bound purple weapon to your bank
6. Log onto another character
7. Pick transmuted purple weapon and Transmutation Splitter from your bank
8. Use Splitter on that purple weapon.
Result:
- Original Legendary soulbound to different character
- Trash white weapon (r-click and destroy it)
- Sigil (you can out it into legendary if you want it or you can sell it and buy a new one)

the sad part is, i can easily kill your ele with 2 trait modifications. i dont care if a class can do 1 or 2 things better then the ranger, it is the whole concept, the vareity the ranger gives me. im loving it more and more. every day on my ranger is a good day. call me crazy or stupid, because i dont go the easiest way. i dont care. ill always stay with my ranger. it is the optimal class for my playstile and fullfills its task more then satisfactory

This perma-fury talk is so sad…. You have to kitten up your dps, use healing boon-duration runes + non-dps pet to achieve that. I guess I can now officially say that I switched to Ele after crafting 12 legendaries for Ranger and im sad to say that I’m having such a blast…
Ele can solo execute 6+ (six, you read it right) blast finishers on fire field withing 10 sec of fight, each blast finisher also gives aoe fury for 10 sec (60 sec total). After 30 sec of fight im capped at 25 might stacks, my team sits on 17+, if you add up guardian or warrior for might or another ele – we all capped at 25 might stacks and real perma fury (1min 30+ no 26/28 bullkitten). All of this is a part of DPS rotation in DPS build – im not sacrificing anything. Also if kitten up happens I can insta switch to water, heal twice for 2K AOE + give regen + remove 3 conditions (almost insta), I can stay in water and heal for more but it usually is not needed even with bad pugs
Its just so sad to see how other classes can do real support while Rangers are blind enough to discuss “26/28 fury uptime”. These issues have been brought up on forums many times by experienced players. The only way to draw real attention to them is to abandon class completely. DO NOT PLAY IT – let Arenanet see their own metrics. According to their last metrics Ranger is 2nd most popular class – they obviously think that Ranger is perfectly fine.
They clearly do not acknowledge any real problems, thats why we do not see any group oriented buffs to rangers. Last two ranger buffs – stealth on LB and reveal on sickem – niche kitten for solo play/roaming.

So after trying to use LFG system for awhile we came up with a few suggestions. Hopefully someone from development team can read this and take into account
1. Currently any party member can change description/stop advertising party etc. For example, We have group of 2-3 and LF2M, someone joins our group and starts changing description/stops advertising party etc. This becomes very messy and causes a lot of anger.
Please make it so ONLY PARTY LEADER CAN CHANGE THE DESCRIPTION (or the person who started adv)
2. Any person can join group currently, no accept/decline needed. While I understand that you guys have some serious reasoning behind that, please-please-please for the love of god ADD ACCEPT/DECLINE feature. Or at least make ‘fast join’ groups and ‘request join’ groups
I mean seriously. Current LFG is a game of who clicking ‘join group’ faster. Thats why people don’t read description causing a lot of frustration. If we dont want to run with inexperienced people/certain classes (call me elitist or w/e) – please don’t make me waste my time kicking people who do not meet our requirements (they dont read description anyways, remember that?). All these people filling up group in 3 sekittenerally, and after that i gotta spend another 10 min kicking em or forming up a new group.
LFG is a great idea, but in its current implementation its hardly usable and it takes a lot of time to get the “right” group going (wrong path/wrong dungeon/wrong profession etc).

I’m not gonna say it needs nerf cause imho it doesn’t, but this event definitely needs some QoL improvements. Currently people spend 60-90 min waiting for boss to spawn (after failure) which is simply unacceptable. When we fail temple event for example we can restart chain right away (Balthazar) or in 10-15 min (Grenth)
Suggestions:
1. Implement prevent chain so people will clearly know that boss is gonna spawn in XX min and get their kitten together (set up roles blablabla). This is the main reason why it fails on servers not using VOIP / less people on VOIP. All other dragons have their preevents except Tequatl.
2. Greatly reduce cooldown on preevent restart if main event failed. This will allow players to quickly do preevents again and get on boss without waiting for 60-90 min, also this should eliminate ‘AFK problem’

There are lots of suggestions to guest onto other servers or join guilds, I don’t want that hassle. I just want to be able to log in when the message pops up, show up in the zone, and stand a solid chance of getting through it so long as I do my part. Right now that’s statistically unlikely.
Well If you just willing to “show up” and “get through” you can try to beat any other world boss in this game – its pretty much how it works.
However, Tequatl is a rewamped world boss with increased difficulty. Just “showing up” is no longer enough, im sorry. Overflow One [Teq] beats this world boss nightly 2-3 times, every attempt will take you 1hr+ including preparation and getting into correct overflow. Its not that bad if you actually try to cooperate with people instead of being an antisocial kitten
p.s. I wholeheartedly agree thought that this boss needs a lot of improvements. It needs a clear timer, clear preevent and possibly ready-check to spawn since timer is pretty tight

Also [Teq] got it tonight accidentally while we failed defense event. The problem is not only event failure requirement. Only a few people can get achievement cause only 1 person can use jumping rad at a time and there is only handful of those pads
Well i was on turret during previous kill tonight and we got him with like 3 min to spare only because he bugged at the end (bone wall right after megalaser stage), could be better! :P

I honestly do not understand why they require pressing 2 buttons simultaneously. It wont work if time gap between Jump and Dodge is more than 50ms, which is pretty much impossible for 99% human beings or just relies on a pure luck
The best way to do it to have a macro for dodge jump, but macros consisting of more than 2 actions are illegal

I do not intend to “come afk” and “get free loot”. However I have zero intention to come for event, wait a few hours just to be trolled by 2 people on turrets autoattacking random mobs instead of doing what turrets supposed to do.
Lets wait for servers already downed Tequatl to be trolled by guesters on turrets and you guys will magically “wholeheartedly agree” that turret troll problem must be addressed.
This fight has nothing to do with coordination etc. It has something to do with luck of having 6 competent people on turrets.
Arenanet should just increase the amount of turrets – add 2 more turrets on each side and fight will be more predictable and less frustrating.
There is nothing more frustrating when 1 person bottle-necking the other 100+, thats how it was back in the days on Grenth when 1 idiot standing next to keeper could pretty much fail event in a matter of seconds.

Yes after pushing the log with #9 you jump onto it and kinda fall thru and getting stuck literally inside. Bunny wont help you cause it has no line of sight on you.
