Yep it’s possible, I do it quite frequently (as a ranger). Best bet is to just kill the pet because that’s the source of their fast healing. If they’re under water.. forget it, it’s bugged and the pet will drastically out heal and damage you deal to the ragner

Good small teams use the rally mechanic to their advantage
they bring res skills
they bring skills to help them finish
they coordinate their ressing and finishes and don’t mindlessly spam damage.If you are small grouping without considering how to make downstate work for you instead of against you, you need to rethink your approach.
With that said, I still think the downed state and rally system is bs and doesn’t have a place in PvP. This topic though has been pretty exhausted since beta, haha.
I’ve played many games like this…I hear this very statement a great deal in games that ignored their player base. Ultima Online, DAOC, Shadowbane…what do they have in common? They are dead games…. So if something is constantly being complained about….well…why not fix it?

The ability for mezmers to have multiple targets…respawn targets that do big damage etc.
Hunters have the pet resurrect, and pet damage after down.
Others can run a huge distance through gates etc.
This is all just more imbalanced silliness….
Lets just make it clear on how it should be…..
You go down …and can’t do anything. Your pets go away….you don’t get to run around … No multiple copies of yourself….You don’t get to throw rocks… You are DOWN. period. End. Of. Discussion! DOWN. Oh did you just trip? NO! You were knocked senseless and DOWN. DOWN means DOWN. Maybe you are taking a nap? No No No…you are DOWN!
You need a gear treadmill in any MMO or players simply won’t come back.
sPvP doesn’t have this level of a gear tredmill…
GW2 is doing it properly as the gear treadmill is mostly aesthetic and doesn’t give dramatic increases in ability with each tier of gear.
Ascended is the exception, that’s why its the problem. It offers significant stat advantages when coupled together.
Gear isn’t going to be handed to you. If you could gear all your players in a week, you wouldn’t keep playing the game. It’s working better in GW2 then it does in most games.
Im a solo roamer. Its a common role in WvW. I have 8 classes. I need 125 laruels to fully gear one character for WvW, using rings from FotM. That’s 1000 laurels needed. The problem isn’t that it takes a week to get the laurels. The problem is, if you do every daily and every monthly in a month you get 40 Laurels. Its going to take me a minimum of 25 months to get all these for my classes. And they are talking about adding Ascended armor this year…

NPCs are fine. Using targeted channels to tag stealthed players is a great way to counter them, and stealth doesn’t need more buffs. Camps are already soloable despite the NPCs conditions; try changing your tactics.

So your argument is “I hate stealthing thieves” so anything that defeats it is good.

There are better ways to balance than prevent players from logging into WvW. Too many ways were already suggested, but the devs just don’t listen and I’m tired of writing walls of text over and over again. The first step to balance rankings is to apply modifiers to the score gained from objectives, depending how many people play on your side currently. If you’re outnumbered, then holding a single tower against great odds would be almost equal as holding the entire map as a dominating server. It’s not the complete answer but the first step.
Another addition would be to unlock additional NPC forces you can recruit if youre outnumbered. This way you don’t prevent people from logging in, but get a boost for yourself. Siege could cost less when youre outnumbered, you could deal more damage with the siege, take walls down faster.. etc. Straight damage boosts for the players would not be a good idea though. Imagine a group of 5 thieves with a +300% damage buff :P But boosting a team by proxy.. like by boosting the siege they use, or giving more HP to the towers they hold.. that’s a step into the right balanced direction.
I have seen all of the suggested “fixes” and none work as they always introduce even worse problems. THE only fix is to balance numbers roughly. It really is not much fun once your server goes away and plays pve because they were outnumbered by 2 servers who both had 2+ your numbers AND double teamed you…so 4+ vs 1.
If they give me 4 times the power then the other people have a special name…targets as I play thief exlusively and would pop out isnta kill with 4 times the damage Lets see I’ve done 14K hits so 48K…with a hit like that it should de-level you (jk)….
This helps the balance on servers as well as the overpopulated ones will travel to lesser populated ones.
Dailies should be able to be completed at 11:59:59 and the repeated at 12:00…as it is the dailies are really more like 2 day cycles because it forces you to player later and later…most of us can’t.
If that is too cryptic then how about this…
One should be able to complete the daily…then on the next day…NOT after 24 hours has passed…but the next day…as in daily….you can do another daily.
Yes there are 24 hours in a day, but if you say see you tomorrow…do you say the next day …wait its not tomorrow because I said it 23 hrs ago!
Just a thought…if say somebody was pushing packets to move faster etc would this not lag the game?

Seems like the moves for the NPC’s are scripted with no checks for environmental effects.
The script starts and then it does its thing…NO MATTER WHAT…if you are stealthed BASH you get hit. If the guard is healing he stands with his hand up in the air…tracking you everywhere you go while stealthed. Etc and so on.
Please smarten your scripts up to honor conditions such as stealth etc.
Further the scouts in camps are fighting 6 guys…you run in and snare snare snare snare every…single…shot…on you…then blind…. These guys need to follow focus rules…unless of course you are admitting I’m that awesome and you have coded it just for me!
I can waste the entirety of my dodging, my evasion moves, and my block moves and the thief is very likely to never exit stealth during this, despite having at least 3-4 of his attacks negated. How in the name of hell do you find this fair, where the thief class is REWARDED for failing attacks by staying in stealth, where as the other classes are PUNISHED for preventing that attack from connecting by lack of reveal on the thief?
1) I’d love to see this magical thief that has 20 seconds of stealth running while swinging at the air at you for some reason.
2) I’d love to actually fight you and watch you blow every single defensive CD the first time I stealth.
3) Every class can swing auto attacks at air without penalty. This isn’t something unique to thieves, and actually is detrimental to them. I lost count of how many thieves I’ve killed while they’re stealthed just because I can keep spamming attacks into them without a target.
4) Yours is still the absolute silliest complaint about stealth that anyone has ever had.

Is armor fair? The stealth classes have to use a slot and have no armor…Now quite crying.
Another company with orcs in it fixed the issue…the answer is obvious. How much design talent must one have not to be able to implement a solution that is widely accepted.
So you have no use for laurels early on.
The after I use them to buy some dye…they are needed to get high level WvW gear.
Then on top of that you make it such that you can get 1 a day.
Then on top of that you need 40 of them for one piece of gear.
So basically to get WvW gear you have to grind PVE. I can thirty billion badges and be the biggest BA on the server….yet I have to PVE to get the gear…

There is a bunch of hate going on about thieves. There are two types of thieves those that attack groups and are always healed, perma stealthed, do big damage, etc and so on. And normal ones.
What they are doing is using a special program. If you don’t like it then complain about the rampant use of special programs that occurs in this game. Until they address the issue – and its REALLY easy to address. (Simply detect people using skills use before they are normally available…)
