Save all your Karma because legendary weapons take at least a 3-4 month worth.

Always team up with others on kills because you get the same exp/loot for less effort.

Those FPS for your system actually sound about right. You Render Sampling should be on Relative (Default) and optionally set your Shadows to None to get try and get a FPS boost.

Other then that the only way to see an improvement would be to downgrade your CPU to the overclockable version and overclock it over 4.50 Ghz.

If its happening in WvW then it’s a known…and very annoying bug. I hate to say it but you will have to suffer through it happening occasionally in WvW like the rest of us until they fix it.

Sometimes the Trading Post gets a bit overloaded and is extremely slow or fails to load. Has the Trading Post ever worked for your account at least once?

Sorry you have accidently lost, deleted, or not received your items but unfortunately you have no real basis for a real money refund based on that issue since you did not spend real money for your items,. You spent real money to purchase gems and the gems were all delivered as agreed.

Was there no delete item confirmation that popped up for your items? I always receive an annoying pop-up every time I try to salvage a green or blue item that I need to confirm.

Now that Karma is so easy to come by through Daily and Monthly Achievements, you can stay perfectly well-equipped with the green gear from the Heart Vendors (and your Personal Storyline if you are staying up to date with that).

No matter which route you go, do not spend your Karma unless you have too. You need over 750k Karma ( sometimes well over 1 Million Karma ) to get a Legendary Weapon.

Going from 1-80 should get you around 100k. Sure you do a daily for 4500 and monthly for 45,000. That will net you about 200,000 more per month, 50% more if you save it and use a booster to get more. At this rate it will take you 3-4 months minimum to get enough Karma to get 1 Legendary…hopefully your not Duel wielding….

Hold out as long as you can until you think you really need to. Just be sure to check your drops for better stuff then you currently have. Do not forget to do your storyline when you are 1 level higher then the listed level which will give you a great piece of gear.

The last Alt I ran did not do any upgrades until he hit 40, then once again at 60. I was getting lucky on weapon drops, otherwise you may want to upgrade your weapon sooner if its getting too old.

They may or may not put this in, but one thing I know for sure:

If you created your character again today just to pick a different race…it would be quicker to get from 1-80 then to wait for them to put a race changer in the game.

That’s not the case, Windows 8 RT is for the tablets, Windows 8 Pro still have the desktop like Windows 7 minus Start menu. That’s about it.

Great…..I always love the next operating system when they still have all the same stuff, minus some the previous version had. It will match my Sports games this year.

I have put many hours into the game an gathering and always get 3 on a Rock, 10 on a Rich Rock, 3 on a Tree, and 1 on a Gather.

The problem is you upgraded your PC or Laptop to Windows 8 when it was actually specifically designed to be used on I-phones, I-tablets, and other touch screens.

If you have a touch screen device, there is no argument Win 8 is the best,
but for PC’s and Laptops….you should stick with Windows 7.

Guild Bank should always be limited to Officers and higher just for this reason. It’s always nice to allow others to grab stuff as needed, but there is always…ALWAYS….one person that will ruin it for everyone.

Booting the 13 people was a little overboard since only 1 did it, and it may have even been one of your circle of friends. I have seen a fair number of guilds that one of the co-founders of a guild actually robs the guild bank and takes off.

Even if you knew for sure who it was, it is not a bannable offense unless he used a bug to gain access to the bank when he did not have the proper guild rank. If this was what happened I am sure the forum would be in a rage about it being broke.

For $800 you might be able to get a laptop that would run minimum settings at about 40-50 FPS.

DJRiful is correct. I think you would need over $3000 into a laptop to even consider running things at MAX if you want to maintain good FPS.

For $800 you could probably get a Very nice desktop system that you could run PVE at Max minus the Shadows, but in WvW you would still take a little bit of a FPS hit.

You could copy it to another hard drive, then put it back.
You could buy a large Thumb Drive to hold the files.
You could network your system to another computer and transfer the file there.

Best option yet is just not to use Windows 8 and keep using Windows 7 on your home PC or Laptop. Overall Windows 7 is much better the Windows 8 ATM for PC and Laptops.

I would however, strongly recommend getting Windows 8 if you have a tablet or iphone, since this is the systems they actually designed Windows 8 for.

This is just a case of a person not knowing how to take care of there equipment. The video card probably died because of extreme heat due to the following factors:

1. Its an older card that had dust clogging the heatsink causing bad air flow cooling. To prevent this they need to be cleaned once in a while to keep them unclogged.

2. The user was running his setting way too high without putting a limit on the FPS causing excessive heat which makes problem #1 that much worse.

3. The user failed to run GPU temp and fan moniter software to warn him if his card overheats or fan fails.

4. The user failed to use up to date drivers. Some video cards have faulty fan driver that do not increase your fan speed like they should, unless you update the driver they can fail.

People may wonder why the user manuals never say the card needs to be cleaned or you have to monitor temps on there video card. The reason behind this is the Video Card companies want your card to fail after the warranty so you buy a new one. If you do not clean it or monitor your temps most cards will last long enough for the warranty to expire.

I am not sure why it would say “Unknown User” but here is some possibilities.

1. Guild Member cleared out the bank then deleted that character.
2. Guild Member cleared out the bank then got banned for something.
3. Guild Member was actually named “Unknown User” who was recruited by someone without your knowledge.

I do not know the exact values, but I heard the Max amount you can send is limited by when you Activated the account, your character level, and your total playtime.

It should go up over time as your account gets older and you play the game to build time played on the /age command.

Yes the codes are locked and region specific. If you buy the code in Europe it has to activated while in Europe, your friend would have to play on a Europe server and download the Europe Client. Once the account is activated in Europe it should be able to log in from the USA or anywhere else in the world.

It is fun to do, but all your effort will be wasted because the next player that comes along will just rez them.

If you really need some crafted gear you can either craft it yourself, or find a crafter. I am sure a crafter can give you a price on the exact type of equipment you want if it is possible to make it that way.

The Crafter would just take the Cost of mats + 15% TP Fees + Profit

The Crafter may want 5% of the cost to put in on the TP up front, but this is much safer then using the mail system.

Is your V Sync turned on. If so try turning it off.

How V sync basicly works is if your monitor refresh rate is 80 hrz ( or FPS ) if your FPS drops to 79 then it automatically will reduce your max FPS in half to 40 to prevent graphical tears, If your FPS dips to 39 it will make your Max FPS 20 always cutting in 1/2. ( Or whatever ratio your monitor scales images down with)

It it takes you X amount of time to get 3.33 Orange Items without food then,

You should get 4.33 Orange Items in the same amount of time if you ate the bars the whole time. How Many bars did you eat in that amount of time?

Is that Extra Orange Item you receive worth more the the price you paid for that many bars?

If you Fps is 40 on both High settings and Low Settings then your problem is somewhere there is a FPS limit turned on and set to 40 on your machine.

Check your Video Card options in GW2 and make sure you limit is turned off.
Check your Video Card Settings on your machine and make sure the limit is off.
On your machine there can be multiple places for this limit, it could be in your general setting or in advanced setting for just GW2.

If all else fails you could try and do a fresh Clean Install (Resets all your Settings ) of your video card drivers and this may remove the limit.

( The percentages in this post are just examples, not actual drop rates)

It increases your chances of getting higher quality items, example below:

When a piece of Equipment drops under Normal drop you get:
75% Chance it is White, 15% Blue, 7% Green, 2% Yellow, 1% Orange

If you have 200% total Magic Find, your normal drops increase 200% resulting in:
25% Chance it is White 45% Blue, 21%Green, 6% Yellow, 3% Orange

You will still get the same number of equipment, but your odds go up of it being a better quality.

Make sure you are keeping your Render Sampling: Native

If you already have it that way then you can:
1. Turn off your Shadows
2. Turn down your Shaders

It may not be as pretty as you like it but it should bump up your FPS, unless there already that way of course.

It’s possible to tank? Most I ever see groups doing is 4 people spamming buttons while the person who has aggro runs around like a chicken with his head cut off. Of course I haven’t been in many groups with a Guardian either.

I always ask my guild, which has around 100+ people online during peak times. I was also under the assumption that /map and /yell were the same thing, since /yell talks to everyone on the map.

/map and /yell might be the same thing, but I am not exactly sure in this game. To me /say would be nearby, /yell would be farther then a say, but /map would be the whole map.

Maybe they are aware the issue with people having a bit of trouble getting others to do dungeons. Perhaps that is why its this months monthly achievement.

Try using /map or /guild instead of using /yell.

They give you extra time beyond the 3 minutes because they know that people put in time/effort to do a dungeon. They also know that if they fix something that’s broken, it you most likely will not be able to take advantage of it while your in a dungeon. Soon as you leave the dungeon your 3 minutes is already up.

GW2 is one of the few games that will run your video card at max all the time, even if the game does not need it yet. I heard the reason behind this is if some cards are running at full speed all the time they run better then speeding up and slowing down as the data flow changes. I know FFXIV also does this along with a couple more I can not remember at this time.

One thing you can do to help this is to use MSI AFterburner ( formerly Rivatuner). With this you can watch your GPU temps and adjust your fan speeds to your own settings based on the temp of your GPU. If your temp is under 85 and the fans are too noisy then you can reduce the speed on them, just make sure that when the temp hits 85 they are set to run max speed.

You obviously figured it out yourself describing what the problem with it was in your 2nd paragraph. The Name Policy is there to protect everyone…even the perverted. Sorry to say they will not reverse there decision on this one.

If you upgrade you should get either a I5-2500K or an I5-3570K, yes the K is very important as it means you can overclock them an almost always get at least 4.00 Ghz from them, commonly they end up being 4.50 Ghz or more if you have the right cooling.

I can not say for sure how much extra performance you would be beyond what you have now, but those two chips would set you up for probably 2 years until you need to even thin about upgrading your CPU again. It is also you next step because if you try upgrading your 460 GTX your I3-540 would severely be bottle necked if your not already limited a little by your I3.

Those two chips are pretty much the best you can get at the moment without selling your body parts for cash.

People already get confused enough with how timezones work. Using Midnight GMT for the reset is not the real problem. The problem is they use GMT to do resets, Pacific time to do updates, and Anet time to do random updates.

To solve this everything should be based on one time zone, either PST or GMT, not mixing differ time zones for game updates and events.

Do minis stack in the bank? If they do not stack maybe you just need 2 of each. One remains in the bank and the other in your inventory so you cant send it to bank because its full.

If you’re willing to to spend a bit extra I highly recommend getting the Corsair H80 cooler.
It’s $90, but even at its lowest setting it keeps my OCed 3570k at <75C at 100% load and it’s wonderfully quiet.

The Corsair H80 is the next step up from the Coolermaster 212 Evo. The price difference from $30 to $90 is a huge leap but so is the performance that it delivers. For most users the Coolermaster 212 Evo is the best bang for there buck. The Corsair H80 is more of a niche market item for those who are persistent on getting the maximum overclock from there system or worried about reducing noise.

I always recommend the Coolermaster 212 Evo, then if a person decides the need more cooling and speed I recommend the Corsair H80 and other more expensive models.

In some cases, the Coolermaster 212 Evo will be enough to reach the limit of there CPU, Memory, or Motherboard on there overclock and if that is the case spending the $60 differnce up front is not going to give you better speeds.

Sorry to break it too you..but you already get exp from Running is you count Discoverys POI’s, and Vista’s.

Now chatting for exp…that a new one…but be sure it comes with the downside where if you spam chat or say something stupid you will lose exp.

Laptop:

For about $3000 you can get a I7 CPU + 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 680M video card which will pull you about 32 FPS.

Desktops:

I5-3570K Desktop with a Nvidia GTX 570 HD will still leave it in the dust for less then 1/3 of the price for the whole system.

You can not ever join a Full server. You need to join it when there population is at its lowest point. Like the following Example:

Wait until it is about 2:00 AM during a work week so the server population it at its lowest, then transfer.

If the server is Full, even at its slowest hour of the day, then you will never be able to join it until the population is lowered by less people playing at that time.

You do not need to run stock settings while you wait. Just run prime 95 or Intellburntest and check your temps. Most of your heat comes from your voltage setting, not your actual clock speed.

If you are happy with 4.00 Ghz and it says under 85 while under load and you do not need to spend money on the Coolermaster 212.

If you try getting 4.30 Ghz and your temps hit 95..then you need to either:
1: Reduce your overclock so your temps are under 85
2: Get the Coolermaster to lower temps under 85 while still maintaining 4.30Ghz.
