That is complete nonsense. AR is beating SF and Kpop at EVERY single turn. We are taking lead because our WvWvW game has skyrocketed. Yup, we are taking advantage of coverage gaps…but that’s not the entirely we’re wining. Hell it’s prime time for everybody right now and we’re still leading. Hmm. Crazy.

What I’m seeing right now from SF is not the same we fought weeks earlier during the season. The previous SF had the 2nd most participation levels in I’ve seen in WvW, right now it’s quite tame by comparison. I’m not one to kick a server while they’re down. SF deserves a relaxing break from WvW stress and just play for fun, they’ve accomplished a lot during the season. IMO you were the server in bronze that was closest to competing with HoD during your season prime.

You should have some respect from me, at least after all that hate for your server I’ve been reading on last week. Not that I like your SF forum warriors when you are winning and spamming the recruitment posts on the matchup thread, but AR right now… loll. Omg guuyeez, bronze league offseason is teh hardcore real deal! All hail AR! Their genius wvw strategies and grass roots community building is a beacon of hope for all bronze leaguers! Enlighten us in your ways so we may learn to be champions of bronze league offseason.

The last commander there left so he gave us his golems. So we figured we’d give it a shot. It was so fun we couldn’t leave.

@El Cid….you had multiple people from AR telling you to join our server TS last night. I was the TS eternal commander and tagged down so our numbers weren’t split to follow you. I heard we had 122 people in TS in multiple channels last night. We even offered TBT their own channel. Most of the commanders were in TS during reset. Telling you to get in TS was about the most drama we had. Overall AR had a good reset night and El Cid did do a good job commanding in eternal. He knows how to command and we just wanted to improve our TS play with commanders that know their stuff.

I didn’t choose this server because of its community because right now that’s “meh,” but because it was dead last. I initially came to the rock to get away from the giant zergballs and queues. When I jumped into WvW, I was wrecked by a pretty large zerg. I immediately fell in love with it. I’m a sucker for the underdog. I came here with two other people, and now we’re blossoming into a large guild. We generally keep to ourselves except in WvW by coordinating with the other commanders via PM or opening temples in PvE. We don’t really recruit WvW players. Our players were and are almost all exclusively PvE who now wPvP regularly … that’s 50+ players that WvW on a regular basis that didn’t before. They aren’t too bad either. People on this server are good players and they’re very open to learning. They’ve even shown me a few things.

Our voip (raidcall) is open to anyone (including our enemies). I’m open to helping and have helped quite a few people with WvW builds (whether they are guildies or not) or gold / mats / feast / siege.

Even when commanding last night, I had some players from other guilds asking for invites. Personally, I feel it’s disrespectful to actively recruit from other guilds. To be honest, there’s quite a bit of drama going on and I prefer to run with my guild and anyone that wants to tag along on an empty bl (which I do 90% of the time). I only run tag up for the newest people so they can get used to following a commander tag. If you want to follow me, you can hop in our voip.. or don’t… it doesn’t bother me. If I follow you, I’ll hop onto yours. I’m not going to be exclusive or shoot anyone down or tell them that my guild won’t “support them” (who am I to tell people who to group with or what to do).

I have no problem with anything I said in map or PM to SniffyCube. A new transfer with an attitude who lacks simple common courtesies and behaves like a 12 year old. Server unity is important, and a troll from Kain isn’t going to stop that.

I meant what I said, you are not on the list of Commanders that we will run to support. Good luck.

…So shooting down my recruitment msgs in lions arch (and/or telling people to join your guild instead)…or calling me a 12 year old in map chat or on the forums doesn’t bother me, and telling me you’ve blocked me from your TS because I don’t use TS is silly.

All in all, if you’re going to talk the talk then walk the walk, because, in the end, even if there’s another group running around… that’s one more group than you had before and they’re not doing half-bad. I’m sorry you can’t handle someone not wanting to play your way.

You got the tower behind you? you could have siege up with ac and treb, it would have impact that situation more into your favor then putting it on the open field. This is a free tips.

Cyber is right though it was a day of good fights. As far as Sorrow’s goes… Early in the week to say this, but CoSa and the rest of SF didn’t look too bad . You seemed pretty tight and organized. It was fun commanding against some of you you in EB

Yeah. I mean we were trying to get rid of the siege while you guys were fighting inside… there were 11-12 of us total and you had a group of 25-30ish?

And that treb hits both the outer and inner / any siege you have on the upper level of your garrison

(protip: next time when you want to claim something impressive you should blot out the mini map so you can’t see how many you have instead of just angling the camera :p)

bring back the last match up where there’s not groups of 40+ running around

Felt like a pinball between those large groups of DR and GoM… at least armor repairs were free. Props, both servers’ groups (ASH, OP etc) put up good fights tonight on DR BL.

This is false. First off there are no low or medium populations servers on NA. They are all high or very high. Second I just went and clicked transfer to all the tier 8 lowest ranked servers on NA. They are all 1000-1800 gems bases on if the server is high population or very high population.

Anyway, I agree with the author. The inflation has made it ridiculous to pay (in gold) for the gems needed to move. The alternate is a gem card, but I can understand people hesitating at the thought of throwing down 20 dollars for a gem card just to move (especially if they just came back from not playing the game). Why should they have to pay in a f2p game just to move to play with friends. I don’t know it just seems a bit out of whack to me. I support the game because I don’t feel pressured to pay in order to have a good time. I enjoy getting weapon skins etc. I can see how this can discourage someone from playing and, because of that, it should be looked into.

So moving to the last place server in world vs world to most likely lose costs 122 gold but moving to another server in which are doing okay only costs like 50-60 … hahah go anet.

I log in today and try to waypoint to another map. After waiting for 5 minutes, I alt f4 out of my game. Thinking it must be me, I restart my computer and check my ping (around 50). I log in again (also without anti virus this time) and run around the map with a cool 60 fps.

So I think the problem is fixed, right?

Wrong. I try to zone into malchors to do a boss… 5 minutes later I’m still on the loading screen.

Lose connection to server, zone in again, same thing.

This had never happened before so why is it happening now?

living world has no real “finality”

I would love to see an event where it matters in some tangible way

Let’s say there are some pirates (because that seems to be the common theme for these living stories) and they are doing two things which you have to prevent

1. Causing the volcano near Mt. Maelstrom to erupt
2. Flooding Kessex hills (or wherever)

Players have to save one of the areas and let’s say they save kessex. Well, from the end of the event on, Mt. Maelstrom should change into a lava area. This would give players more incentive and make the living story feel like it’s worth playing and not something that’s thrown at us every two weeks to fit into some kind of quota.

Also, please please please make it last more than two weeks with increasing complexity of events and some kind of meaningful progression. During the current living stories, I find myself bored and I feel like I’m farming. Then another stage of the living story comes out, and once again I’ve unlocked more farming. Have the living story be engaging and change how the maps/quests are in all the zones as well.

I would love to see the living story actually take us to new unexplored zones. I liked the idea of the karka event, and had hoped it would last longer with the karka invading all zones, and maybe having players team up with grawl and other traditional enemies to overcome the karka

Specific character bindable items that can be crafted for use in wvw, because, let’s face it, crafting doesn’t do much for wpvp besides oils and food.
Examples
Armorsmith – portable shield that can block siege damage in a small radius up to X amount of damage
Weaponsmith – doorcutter that is a type of handheld ram doing less damage and reducing mobility when when it is equipt
Huntsman – single shot sniper rifle long distance, one shot and a super high cd that can be used to shoot or stun players on siege or on walls
Leatherworker – Wearing animal skins – turn yourself into an NPC neutral npc on the other player’s screens such as coyote or warg / rabbit (scouting and ambush)

Separated towers keeps / further apart – siege not being able to reach towers to keeps or keeps to towers because, as someone on the forums stated “in real sieges the defender doesn’t siege from the comfort of his own castle”
Buildable forts – defenses such as wooden walls which can be built anywhere on the map to make a “siege camp,” walls being a lot weaker and vulnerable to player damage
More quests – have an event that if you collect enough badges or parts of players killed you can summon a special npc to go on “patrols” with you or an NPC army that can help you take objectives etc (could be only usable in your own borderlands) because killing players and more diversity would be a great addition
different bl maps – three different maps for first second and third place in a match up and have each map themed with a certain terrain such as red – fire map, blue – sea / port map, green – jungle / forest map
Customizable NPCs – When you claim a tower keep you have the option of outfitting the guards with your own guild’s personal armor / weapons to make the keep look and feel more like it’s yours. Also, allow guilds to customize or pick from templates as how the walls of the tower / keep appear once claimed. i.e. guild A claims tower and has a gothic template selected so the walls of the tower appear in a gothic fashion and when upgraded becomes “cooler looking.” You could also use guild influence to “buy” customizable weapon skins (with or without adding better stats) for the guards to the keeps or towers you claim.
All in all I think those would make world vs world feel more like a “war” instead of cookie cutter.

DR, gotta say I’m impressed with the numbers. Commanding against you was cat and mouse with the small amount of people we had, but you burn me and I’ll burn you back.

actually you guys were listed under very high today when I was checking / guesting

So I see you guys did free xfers to lower servers and lowered the cost of xfers to medium servers. Great job guys this is great in theory and at least lessens the pain of having to xfer to a server where you’re getting stomped week in and week out… but I see you guys also raised the limits on what qualifies as a “medium” and “very high” population server and for that shame on you. I don’t know what kind of game you’re playing with your customers but I’ve guested on two “very high” servers and I can barely find anyone on any map… and they’re being utterly destroyed in WvW so I know they’re not there… I just spent about 30 minutes going map to map scouring the most popular areas on each map.

I’m betting if I guest on SOR or JQ or even TC I’d find a lot more people… but oh wait, they’re apparently the same population as devona’s rest and other bottom servers … so it would cost the exact same… then what’s the point of moving to a lower tier server and this “pre season sale” in the first place?

Summary : Anet offers free transfers to low pop and reduced price to medium, while raising almost all servers very high population which costs more than medium servers (costing more than it originally did to move to most servers).

This should be done. Free xfers to lower ranked servers would help a lot, but there’s no way anyone from anet reads this and less chance they do something about it.

Due to the match up being horrible I haven’t stepped into wvw, but we’ve fought together and against one another since we were both in t8.

I’ve only stepped into this match up twice… once after 1 hr queue at reset night and once a few days ago. Both times, it’s been like pulling teeth. I will never understand why anet doesn’t go by wvw population or actually test out its matchmaking systems before implementing them. If you think a lot of people are having fun pvdooring against you guys then you’re dead wrong. It’s been like pulling teeth now for two weeks… even roaming it’s hard to find people to fight. These population imbalances are ridiculous.

Here’s to hoping we all get placed in a better match up next week. I’ve been looking at the match ups and I don’t know what in god’s name anet is thinking. If they think for a second guilds are going to move to “dead” wvw servers to get their faces stomped in these league systems, then I’m pretty sure someone needs to put down the pipe. No incentives and incoming stomps from servers on higher tiers… I don’t even know about this game anymore.

SBI is also a great environment for guilds who are looking to expand their ranks.
1. Compared to our nearest competition (Borlis Pass, Darkhaven, and Kaineng), we have fewer dedicated WvW guilds, which means that WvW guilds who transfer to SBI would have an easy time finding seasoned WvW players to fill out their ranks.

That’s an unfair assessment. Bp has some fun guilds to fight such as WFD and Krew as well. Last time we fought (a few weeks ago) I had a great time against both. Sorry if I left some out, but encounters on the battlefield have so many variables… how many uplevels do they have, how many pugs, who has siege, who jumps who, terrain… it’s just impossible to tell how good or bad someone is from fighting them a few times over the course of the week. There will always be immature people kittening from either side but the fact of the matter is this is a game and everything is just pixels in the end.

On that note, fun fights this week.

I believe BP was offering the rams as some sort of tribute. We repaid by running into your legendary defenders before we logged… least we could do.

Yes, we didn’t properly sweep a t3 upgraded keep that had no swords up anywhere while it was being upgraded. I applaud the mes that sat in there for two and a half hours and got past all our guys then dropped magical catapults that launched your guys into inner while you were at the inner gates. Your hiding places and new siege technology are legendary good sir

It’s happened and honestly there’s nothing any of us could do except report the people in question and ask that you guys keep an eye out… there is also no point in arguing with someone that’s going to close their eyes and scream “no”

we’re guest commanding on SBI, some of your players have had experience with us when some moved over for about a week… they know our players are respectful and honest – we won’t bullkitten you

then again a whole server can’t be judged by the actions of a few so just please look into this… it isn’t the first time this has happened in this match up, but it’s the first time we’ve witnessed it

SBI seems like a very different SBI from the one I had known months ago and they’ve really mellowed out which is probably why it hadn’t been posted earlier in this thread
