The sword currently has no footfalls and lacks effects on cast like other legendaries. When a guardian does whirling wrath, the default animation appears.
because it is the only way that you can identify that it is eternity.
That seems like a weak explanation… couldn’t there be a larger aura or something for people that care about others knowing it’s eternity. I just personally think that combining two legendaries and losing a common trait between them seems logical. Like I stated before, if there is a logistical reason I would love to know.
it’s fun doing the pact escort for balth with 20 people… having the combo fields up and finishers… putting all the regen and boons we can on the pact while using CC on the mobs that spawn only to have the whole pact one shotted by the nobles as soon as they spawn – thank you very much
speedrun CoF path 1 (don’t give me the excuse you’re not a zerk war… I’m a guardian) then buy them … that’s what I just did for sunrise… not that hard if you invest a little time in it
daily fractals (10,20,30,40,50) and hitting every event in the game every day only makes it that much faster – and the event part takes all of half an hour at most
It seems like a simple enough thing to have considering it is a combination of the two legendaries and currently the most difficult item in the game to make. Eternity has been a turn off because you actually lose one of the best effects of wielding the greatswords twilight or sunrise, and that’s the footfalls.
Is there a specific reason in-game that this can’t be implemented?
You had way more then us you came in and attacked NE tower, hills, and oh god, like 6 times on bay? Lol, we had to pull a lot of people. From what I can see, CD is a slightly more squishy than KN, BUT, I have to hand it to you guys in terms of map coordination. You had several groups running around really making our job harder. Fun and interesting night. And we took CD’s hills.
Also, just now Yak’s is second.
Hills was tough because it’s easier to sit back most of the time when everythings t3 and the terrain advantage… didn’t attack bay except once where we got nailed by two zergs one coming out of the bay and the second hitting us from the side.
After that, things got crazy with multiple zergs hitting us at the tower and at the camp.
Lot of amazing fights against what seemed like the whole yak’s bend server for the last few hours in yaks bl. Standing toe to toe to those monster zergs was nuts. Also, kaineng, I am sentimental about cliffside so I’m going to hold onto it for a bit :P
Well kain – was a good fight on your bl. Felt a bit like the t8 days having that buff, but we did what we could with it, and took your garrison (regardless of how fast you took it back lol).

O_o Which buff? Outmanned? If I recall correctly you were DR, and back in T8 it was often Kaineng or FC with that buff lol.
Also here, Kaineng is typically out-manned in every borderland except our own.
We were on kaineng first… then moved to DR when kain took first for that one week… then we went up out of t8 with DR. We actually still have close to 1mil influence on kain.

Back to the point, I agree these mats right now are ridiculous how are people supposed to craft esp if they just got the game and want to make something?
This has been a great week for all of CD, we had slipped into a trench warfare mindset in T4, just keeping on and waiting for something to get better. Then this matchup brought a fresh sense of urgency and a collective rising to the challenge. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the excellent timing of the KWBH transfer, which has also brought in a new infusion of population, and while they deserve some of the credit, most belongs to the server.
I really think it might come down to the wire. I may have to turn our Thursday night sPvP into WvW…
It’s been a great match up. A lot of our commanders and players are doing all they can to help the server. Everyone on the server is really stepping up. It’s a good day to be on CD.
Just wasn’t in the cards and things became a bit toxic for us to the point where people didn’t want to go into wvw anymore and were being burnt out. Gotta do what’s right for the guild and all. But anyway, I’ll be pulling for you!

As far as the trouble goes, things were pretty civil. We didn’t want to really slam on ET or make any kind of attention grab / spectacle of ourselves on the forums. The majority of people there, like yourself, are very cool individuals who will be missed.
it won’t matter next week… why so upset over one week? … what would have happened had you gotten knocked down a tier again only to have to play weeks and weeks to get back up – at least this way you have a chance at more mobility / variety
On Wed, May 29, at 5:43pm MST a new build was implemented for gw2 and all of ET WVW players were redirected to Lion’s Arch.
Here we are.
I vote that ET be put in tier 9…. us against the npc’s! But i’m still apprehensive; the SM Lord will most likely still wipe us ;p

It’s hell, Devon. Thanks for working hard to push it out on time, but it’s awful. You matched our t7 server against two from t3. This will get guilds transferring all over the place and ruining the ladder system all over again. Bad Arenanet! BAD!
Lol… if the guilds transfer after one bad match up you’re probably better off without them… also, it’ll take a while to stabilize so just enjoy the week and learn from the larger server’s tactics like we will if we get paired against a larger server. It’s not a big deal or the end of the world… at least it’s diversity instead of the same stale match ups.

also, I don’t blame you for getting out of dodge… it’s a toxic community down there full of people either not helping just to troll you when you fail or just being nasty in map chat … or my favorite, telling the enemy commanders where your tag is
the fights are great and you can really hone your skills but it grinds on you
CD is a fantastic community so I don’t foresee any problems here and we are loving the move so far
Even with the best intentions, everything does not always go as planned. We had hoped to get the changes in for today’s reset, but it simply was not feasible to do so with the confidence that nothing was amiss. I completely agree with the criticism about having announced the plan and then having to change it, that’s my fault and something I shouldn’t have done. This system is still inbound and I’m fighting as hard as I can to make sure it gets in as soon as humanly possible. There are, however, a lot of moving parts to any change like this and we have to make as sure as possible that none of those parts are going to fail. I share your disappointment as I am very excited to get this change out to all of you and wish we could have done it today.
Why in the world isn’t there a test server? Half the mistakes we see can be caught if you let a large player base test the new changes especially to wvw… crashes … siege effects … boon effects… all you have to do is have a few people sit there while you have hundreds of free testers. Of course they won’t catch everything, but it’s better than a few people releasing patches with unintended consequences that makes us lose faith in the game and the franchise in general.
taking stomemist right now and it’s a good 4-5 second delay on my skills and running 67 fps … so win thought I might add it because it’s falls under the realm of what’s actually wrong with wvw
People are mad becouse they want to continue spam skils while target has retaliation, retaliation is here and people need to know when to stop atacking.
There are serious problems in this game yet people pay atention to minor stuff that is a l2p issue.
Wrong, we know it is there and we can see it has 15 seconds duration on boon duration builds (i.e., many guardians). You have that on a 60 second cooldown.
So 15 out of 60 seconds = 25% of our fight we are supposed to not attack you.
So that is basically like having 25% invulnerability uptime.
It is obviously a balance issue – not a L2P issue.
if you’re talking guards… you can still hit, hell put a bunch of condition dmg on them until their cds and clenses are popped then go at it… if you’re a necro, even better -> corrupt boon or well .. and as a thief … steal it … mes can null field or many other ways to get it… if you’re a ranger and you’re playing tanky there’s no way his retal is going to kill you because you’re a 1v1 stud … I’d mention minefield for engie but meh there’s even a weapon sigil that does it… anyway there’s some l2p for you
otherwise I don’t really see a problem except if you’re blindly throwing in \ area of effects on larges groups of players without actually checking what boons they have (lol) or heartseeker spamming without sticking and moving
fix the way nades and flamethrower work on it for sure but otherwise stop blindly hitting keys and expecting lootbags [and crying nerf when it doesn’t work for you]
Hey, I would be happy with a release of how you guys test new content, but I am wondering why there is no test server (like so many games) that lets the player-base test new content with a lot of people… I mean, it seems that if we had a test server, all of these changes / problems could have been avoided… for instance the inability to build siege or some of the over the top nerfs or the incredible amount of crashing going on today.
other games seem to do this effectively and they avoid a lot of problems before just releasing content to hundreds of thousands of players. Some people even enjoy going to the test servers… let us test your new builds for you… there are hundreds of thousands of us and by virtue of how many of us there are, I have no doubt we could stumble upon problems that you guys wouldn’t catch.
(In short, hundreds and hundreds of testers > anet team)

Great open field fights all around in SoS borderland. Hours of fun roaming around – Loved meeting a lot of the other commanders from CD and some of the militia

CD: only fight when they’re outnumbering you, thief hitting keeps so we can’t spawn, thieves abusing food that roots you. Great guys. Why couldn’t you leave the tier instead of SBI who fights with honor?
CD only fights when we outnumber the enemy? You should’ve seen CDBL bay keep at around 4-5am server time. We definitely did not fight with number superiority. As for hitting hitting keeps, contesting keeps is a legit tactic and I don’t know why you wouldn’t do it.
Also, there’s no such thing as food that stuns you, you probably just got hit by basilisk venom.
It immobilized me and had the animation of the tree branches from Oakhearts. There was no Oakheart or any other mob near us. And I find contesting keeps weak.
I feel this might be directed towards us… yes, our thieves contested your whole map… so you couldn’t use the waypoints, and yes, we had 5-6 rangers entangle your zerg when you were running away from us.
It is obviously a bug that retal does 33% less dmg only on EB. As soon as it gets fixed it should be less of an issue.
On a personal note though (and alleged opness of retal aside), I’ve run WvW with all kinds of professions. The only ones that are still missing from my character select screen are necro and warrior. And I never seen retal as something that shuts my profession down in fights of any scale.
Because I do not simply expect that skills which are great in PvE or on a mob of training dummies would be as effective (if at all) against groups of intelligent opponents. There’s a wide variety of builds/stat-builds you can choose from and it’s not like particular skill is THE only way your class could/should/must rule the world.
P.S. I’ve seen so many times people dying on last boss on Urban Battlegrounds Fractal simply because they do not realize that he has 100% retal uptime and while they do not have appropriate build to sustain their HP pool against it, they mindlessly continue to hit him with everything they’ve got even when they are hovering on 10% hp and have their healing skills on cd.

I’m going to have to agree… and the whole mindset of nerfing things you don’t know how to play against needs to stop (confusion only did damage when you used abilities and when those players who died after spamming 1 died, they were all up in arms). I would love to see anet buffing different aspects of each class and instead make other builds viable.
Since we all know they’re flawed as in premade pub stomping + akitten people only playing a few games and being ranked high… do you plan on addressing this issue and making premade queues separate along with a different leaderboard?
Gawd i would love to post the ss of this weeks hacks against us on sosbl but ik devs will get upset. I have ofcourse ss and reported the ones ive seen. I cant even name those people/servers who have been up to no good again this week. We all know who i’m talking about, its good to know we have new content coming soon, shame ppl can still hack fully upgraded stuff in under 30seconds. I hope along with new content the exploits are fixed and the exploiters are perma banned.
I’ve played wvw on 4 different servers and in countless match ups against almost every server since launch… I can tell you there’s hackers on every server and there’s trolls on every server… bringing it up here is beating a dead horse because 9/10 of the time the server they are from has no clue what these glitching individuals are doing. Also, there are some dirty guilds out there that won’t kick members, but if they are wearing a tag, you should try to get in contact with their guild leaders so they can get removed and reported (once against almost every decent guild will do this)… also, anet does take its sweet time banning for these kinds of things so you have to just be patient.
Hell, give me the locations and I’ll go to the bl if I’m not busy and have the whole guild send in a report… but other than that it is in anet’s hands.
Most people that have moved over from my guild love the server and we love the wvw community here. I feel we should have moved ages ago because this is just a better atmosphere even as far as opponents go. It’s sad we only have a week with you guys (with partial players) because you guys have been really classy on the forums and on the battlefield.
