Yes. Either ALL gal closers should behave like RTL (double cooldown if it doesn’t hit anything) or NONE should and RTL should be reverted.
Basically this, and I dont even play an elly.
This should be the way it is. All like RTL, or none like RTL.
Top of my head 25k toughness, 17~18k hp. I am planning to reduce my toughness down to a 21~22k range soon to try for stronger offence stats Just holding off to see how this new crit change goes down.
25k I want your build!!
Please turn off the servers when I log out thanks. That is all.
u mad bros……….?
Cash grab from Anet. Expect more in the future. Not making enough money from GEMS? – Lets change a major stat in the game..
Ya it wasn’t driven by countless scores of pages of player complaints about berserker’s gear at all.
Umm point me to a change where Anet does ANYTHING BASED ON PLAYER FEEDBACK.

Give us the ability to stay alive to deal the damage we are meant to deal. Mesmers get stealth and clones, more hp, we get squat.
ever since the last patch lag has been getting worse each week.
try playing an ele, even IF we stack toughness, we are lucky to ever reach the 2.8k mark. And if we do, we do around about 300-500 dmg on crit… Warriors… LOL.
More HP and cool downs reduced, do that and we are in a better state. We have the damage, just not the ability to stay alive and deal it.
I guess the real problem is the targeting system then, it’s an excercise in frustration fighting a class that can stealth.
The player stealthing should also lose target in my opinion, seems fair.
I notice this a lot more with my human ele than my asuran. Same with the delay after RTL, my human gets stuck more than my moogle.
Might have something to do with the humans. Mine is human as well, happens at the worse times
Without this lightning flash + random immob bug!
At least 3-4 times every play time I get this bug. I cast lightning flash, then get immob for no apparent reason.
Anyone know how to get out of this invisible immob lol???
I thought a mesmer’s mechanic was clones/illusions, not stealth. Can anyone from ANET please explain why they have so much access to stealth now. It’s not as if it wasn’t annoying enough fighting one prior to the most recent patch, but now, I have literally no chance keeping one targeted because of the terrible targeting system + stealth.
Does anyone have any tips to fighting one of these clone + stealth machines? – Seems a bit much they get their own mechanic plus a thief’s.
Creating additional counter play skills to stealth would make 1/2 our build obsolete. These kind of suggestions would be akin to asking for specfic counters to illusion, shouts, signets, traps, ect. (i.e. "warriors regen is rediculous, we need a skill to stop signet passives for 10s) Its nothing but players refusing to learn a portion of the game. They refuse to better themselves because the lost in a rock paper scissors.
You know it’s not really about learning a portion of the game, because when someone near-perma stealths, it’s not really a game is it?
Its a fast moving class that is design to charge in big zergs and run out
Removing mobility from warriors is like removing stealth from thief’s or clones from mesmer´s.
Its NOT removing it, giving it the same treatment as Ele got.
You take Rampage and Warriors take Fiery Greatsword and its a deal.
Only if the warrior takes the ele’s HP & Armour.
target management when fighting a stealth based classed is exceptionally annoying and quite frankly bad. They need to allow your target to stay locked on but hide it when they go stealthed.
This thread is hilarious. A BG player trying to justify why the most OVERSTACKED server zergs..
WTF lol.
All warrior weapon mobility skills must require a target or have their cooldowns doubled, just like RTL. It’s absurd that a HEAVY armour class doesn’t have this restriction while a LIGHT armour class does.
Mobility + Regeneration is the real killer. RTL got an adjustment on a LIGHT armour class, where is the adjustment for the warriors mobility skills???? – Double standard.
I get the same thing but it’s worse in zergs, might be latency related?
perfect 5 man team = 5 warriors, any spec, any weapon, faceroll = win.
jeez just the hit the elementalist a couple of times prior to applying you’re conditions, they have the worst armour and hp in the game, and 10% of their health drops if just look at them the wrong way… this thread.. lol.
Ele has fine damage, the effort it takes to stay alive to deal that damage is completely out of wak to pretty much every other class in the game.
Friendly neighborhood Grouch here (oxymoron?). Starting in early January I’ll be working more closely with the Skills and Balance team and with you all as well. While our Skills/Balance designers do read the forums quite often, they don’t have as much time to post and drive discussion – and that’s what I’ll be stepping in to help with.
There are a lot of valid concerns with the elementalist right now and we’re going to be working on addressing those points. Once everyone gets back from holiday vacation we’ll be posting up our proposed balance changes and we’ll go from there.
(Please don’t hurt me.)
Good, you can start by asking yourselves, how is it possible that the LOWEST armour class has the LOWEST health, and also, how does the HIGHEST armour class, have the HIGHEST health and greatest or 2nd greatest mobility. Look at warriors, tone them down, then start with everyone else.
Heyas,
I’ve been playing the game flawlessly since launch but earlier this week I’ve started to get strange lag. It’s almost like some skills are taking longer to register on the server then others. Also, players/npcs are rubberbanding all over the place. I’ve got no issues with any other online gaming. I play from Australia. Has anyone else experienced the same issues since earlier in the week?
ds with d/f + settlors = gg
I use d/f, dodge air auto makes short work of any clones / phantasms leave the mesmer with? Not saying it can’t sometimes be hard, but far from not doable. The real problem is it’s exceptionally annoying.. I guess that’s the point of the class tho hehe.
I don’t know much about elementalists but I’d love to duel you sometime and see how it goes.
Sounds good – I’m on JQ and am stuck against Sor/Bg for ever
I have to say as a diamond skin ele with my particular build pu mesmers are a non issue, and exceptionally easy to kill if they stay around and fight.. there are counters, you just need to figure it out
However, they are seriously annoying, and I normally just run away as I cbf fighting them.
Diamond skin actually isn’t a problem at all. Chaos storm, the iWarlock, and confusing images all do quite high damage, so you can take out an ele rapidly if you do it right.

I’ll just add it’s only been the last couple of days, playing from Australia. All other internet games and activities are fine.
Same, never had lag before patch.
You know if just one or two of BG’s WvW guilds transferred to SOR or JQ (non NA for JQ, I play in Australian prime time, always outnumbered) then we would have a very interesting match up. At the moment, the winner is known before the match even resets
We are lucky to have 1 maybe 2 Commander tags across all the Borderlands (including EBG) this week in Aussie prime.
I don’t think there are any major issues for coverage in our time zone, my Oceanic friend
Hehe true, and that’s why it’s been so much more fun then fighting the usual BG 40+ zerg like in the season. I promised myself I would never speak of that horrible 7 weeks that just passed so I’ll just quietly get back to my programming

Scintillating play on EB earlier today JQ. I thoroughly enjoyed it, although we got 2v1’ed, Valley inner was breached a couple of times and JQ zerg wiped BG zerg over and over again to the point mapchat had a lot of complaints about people not following the commander, not being on TS, uplevels, and even how we were playing with pugs vs. 2-3 guilds. A few days ago it was complaints about how bad JQ were and how difficult one must try to die against JQ zerg! At least nobody complained about there not being a queue on EB, since there was one.
I want to play against that JQ zerg more often. Any ideas where / when the players in that zerg will most likely be around?
Try destacking your server then you might see more people in the WvW… At the moment, it’s kinda pointless.
I love it, can push with zergs up the front like a madman with dagger, focus #5, #4 (earth), and Reaper of Grenth human elite, tears them apart. If things get hairy, rock solid + ether renewal + lightning flash → mist form and get the kitten outta there!

Dropbear vs Hobbit. Fight !
Bear would smash the hobbit everytime, m8!!
The 6/6 bonus on Runes of Perplexity now have a 8 second cooldown. This was excluded from the patch notes, but we’re in the process of getting them added.
Thought you guys would like to know.
8seconds is entirely to short.
Other abilities that apply 5x confusion, actual player skills, last only 5sec baseline with a 15sec cooldown.
This will still put these runes in a position of 10sec duration on 8sec cooldown. And that is ignoring condition duration entirely. Thanks to the +confusion duration it’ll be 13sec.
Stack a bit of condition duration from traits, toxic <sharpening/focus/maintenance oil> and a foodbuff and you can easily get 20sec duration confusion. On an 8sec cooldown. This leaves Runes of Perplexity still as the vastly superior means to apply confusion. Outclassing playerskills by a significant margin.
A mesmer build for confusion but without perplexity runes will be considerably worst at stacking and maintaining confusion then a thief that picked up nothing but perplexity runes and an offhand pistol. He could otherwise be completely untraited and have no weapon in his mainhand.
How can the developers continue to ignore this point??? – You’re better off running a naked theif with just a pistol then building a full fledged traited confusion build if confusion is what you’re aiming for.. Terrible game design.
LOL… money well spent Buygate….
The problem with so many of these ideas is that they want to take the contributions of other timezones out of consideration and have them make less of an impact.
It is a pain when a NA server gets EU transfers or vice-versa; but that’s part of how the game is played as well (server recruitment is a fickle mistress, but it helps).
Yep, at the very least my idea removes the complaints of “Night capping” etc as your always up against similar numbers in the various timezones, and it still count towards server performance.
I’ve been thinking of ways while I’m on a break from GW2, but it’s difficult to find an fair solution for everyone. Simply put, I don’t think active population balancing is the right way to try and balance things, by punishing those who want and can play during certain hours; whether it’s prime time or not.
During Prime Time when it’s usually balanced in terms of players on each map, you usually see your Home Borderlands under pressure from opposing servers.
Then by the late evening, unless at least one of the other servers can sustain the same number of players as the other other servers, even if you’ve lost a key structure like Garrison you can just cap it later and the whole map usually for the PPT.I think one of the fundamental issues may be down to the fact that: There is not enough incentive towards Defending and Scouting, apart from Pride.
It’s far too forgiving when you can just cap stuff especially wooden, with superior numbers using mass amounts of offensive siege like an Army of golems and ram users with mastery.
Never-mind defending against numbers, there is so much AOE that you can’t even stand to man defensive siege, unless placed carefully.
It’s also the fact there’s that 30s contest timer, which makes alot of difference to whether you successfully defend a structure.Of course this all comes down to Match-Ups which end up being blowouts, no wonder it ends up being One Big Karma Train.
Population balancing is such a delicate issue.
It is easy enough to transfer and stack on a server, I don’t know how you can make it worth transferring to a lower pop server to balance out the wvw population, especially with National Servers.I think it is something that perhaps should have been discussed during the beta, especially the way World Transfers is handled. WvW has ended up so popular, as it’s so unique and as an end-game of sorts.
With Season One you’ve tried to bring some competition to lure players in, but in the end it’s just given a short-lived boost to a servers wvw population or just longer queue times.
The fair way to address things is perhaps by slowing down the wvw metagame, make it so outnumbered isn’t such a deterrant, and maybe there should be a restructure to to how Points are obtained from Camps, Dolyaks, Keeps, Sentries and Towers.
I understand your point. My suggestion was a way to at least provide semi balanced matches in each of the time zones, and if you’re getting run over, at least it’s not for 7 days in a row, just 8 hours meaning you can always try again tommorrow.
Let us never speak of the last eight weeks, ever, again.
Switch WvW to 3x 8 hour matches in 24 hours. Turn it into a ranking based system.
Match a server at each specific time zone with 2 other servers that have similar populations at that timezone.
Speed up upgrades.
Each win / loss / draw earns your server points counting towards the total score.
Profit.
Population does not equal skill, that’s the whole problem. They could all be even in populations but that doesn’t mean they will be equal in term of skill. For example, you could put a tier 3 realm against a tier 1 realm but it wouldn’t matter if populations are the same skill. There are many realms in tier 1 that are not all the same population as each other, so you can’t just take tier 1s against each other with that idea because their populations may not be similar.
I understand what you mean, you could look at the average population over a 7 day period for each timezone, as well as the amount of points they have gained by winning, then start formulating matches on that.. I dunno, anything’s better then what they currently have lol.

Yep warriors needed a buff.
Anet develops and maintain the game, so this one is squarely aimed at them. Until they remove the ability to make copious amounts of cash off transfers, it’ll never change.
Buygate, pay to win!
Have all you mouth breathers forgotten about the greatest player….
Yes, I nominate this guy!
+1 – I hate to interrupt, but this is the best player of ALL TIME.
bg… making wvw boring one zerg at a time!
