Yak’s Bend, you guys have some epic bad P/D thief’s cloak all day long.

It’s really hard to be bad at P/D Thief. It’s easier to be really good at P/D than it is to be really bad at P/D if that makes sense.

I really hate them atm, there are 2 Yak’s Bend guys running around P/D and all they bloody do is cloak cloak cloak…. It’s driven me nuts.

why does AD keep saying we gave them kitten over a video they posted? What started this whole thing was a reply to a post I made about this match up not being fun for me (as a roamer) and someone from AD posted something about them running into us and not being impressed.

basically…AD had claimed they rolled us… and no one from OG had ever seen or heard of AD. Thats what sparked this “fued”

A good DDE or Thief can disengage and reset combat (and thus health) via mobility if they want or need to. That, alone, is enough to win pretty much any 1v1 class that can’t match their mobility.

Well you should see what rangers are doing to Ele’s and Thiefs our dueling build is to strong for thief’s and ele’s to break or stand up against. Only thing Ele or Thief can do most of the time is run away.

Look I don’t hate AD nor do I think they are bad players, just you guys so hell bent on OG, so we called you out and lets do it, doesn’t need to be 5v5 it can be whatever numbers. Roaming or not its still same thing.

It is a 10v8. They try to stealth rez their ranger who got caught out of position and end up losing two early because of that. As I mentioned in my first post of this movie and on the youtube page, they made errors in positioning at the start of the fight. The supervisor had 3-4 minutes on the buff.

OG has proclaimed themselves to be the best roaming WvW guild out there, so they should have won this fight. I’m pretty sure the best roaming WvW guild would have beat us in this situation. We really aren’t that great. So, I’m going to have to assume that maybe OG is not the best roaming WvW playing GW2?

I hit a nerve didn’t I, so does AD continue to refuse a team challenge vs OG, surely your tactics and comms should own us seen as we are a BAD GUILD.

BTW, the NoQQ elem who beat you used to be someone we fought against when they were on Kaineng. Their group was better than OG. A guild group we fought against from NSP called PAXA. Yup, better than OG. Envy from FC, better than OG.

Keep on building that self-perpetuated myth that Maguuma has the most skilled players in GW2 though. The rest of us will sit and laugh at you and recognize that all servers have skilled players on them.

Considering I’m not geared for 1v1 and never use my elite 1v1 either, even you guys in AD should be able to get a kill now on me now and then.

No one ever accepts challengers/duels or anything, I’ve only seen the guild WAR accept from BP, oh and WaR. The rest sit around trolling the forums, most of the time its over 1 win. I don’t come to forums every time I kill someone say “I Killed A OG” it’s like you need an award or something.

I’ve personally lost count of how many times I’ve steam rolled over guilds that love to trash the forums about OG, but I never come to forums looking for my fame.

What’s funny is all the trash LARP/NoQQ talked about DR back in the lower tiers and now look at what server there on….

AD, you guys come across as try hard’s, all you ever talk about is OG but you keep refusing to duel/team fight, so run your mouths on the forums post your videos with your guardian saying “I’m Rooted I’m Rooted” (You really need to learn how root works, just dodge out of it), and there is good chance you won’t be facing Mag for long time enjoy Tier 6, while we enjoy an more active tier.

Never duel with LARP unless you have friends near by or they will jump you if you start winning, it has happened to us before. They are a bunch of cowards who will never fight equal numbers because they will get rolled.

I agree with most of posts, here what I’m getting at is in WvW in terms of AoE we have nothing and Bunker builds in WvW aren’t viable in team play. Single person roaming yes but team play no.

In SPvP sure we can use trapper build but SPvP is boring and if you wanted to do TPvP, well there better classes to take over the ranger. My team doesn’t use my ranger in TPvP there just to many better options.

For WvW ranger doesn’t have any real AoE and Pets are more less useless, I run with small team of Roamers we normally 6-10 people and we are zerg breakers. Biggest problem I have found is I’m only good at single target damage, and my pet when say faced up against War/Guardian there AoE just murders them normally before the CD is down for pet swap. Worest part is E.g. my group of 6 will be trying to take a camp off 10+ people with vets, my pet more less has to be set to avoid combat or it dies extremely fast.

Just real pain knowing I’m the weakest link on my team as I offer no real buffs or team support as a ranger. Sure I can take out thief’s and GC but with Mesmers/P/D thiefs/D/D eles it takes me time to kill them which in effect is ineffective for my team.

Tbh I can’t see us any time soon ever getting the improvements we need for WvW to be viable, I’ve currently re-rolled new char just for WvW, keeping my ranger for duels only.

I’m just bored with the ranger. So sick of being my attacks being single target.

We need some major improvements to AoE, as WvW is mainly who has the most AoE in team fights win.

Rangers do well at duelling but if you fight a ranger 1v1 its whoever has the most bunker, not who has the most skill.

I wish we could use Hammer and bring out new bow that deals AoE damage. Just stupid how our AoE is Barrage and traps they are not viable in WvW. I wouldn’t call swords/GS as aoe there damage is no way near on par with every other class in terms of damage output.

Rangers have become boring.

And any ranger having problems in PvP, run a bunker ranger at least 900 Healing.You get to watch your pets do all the damage.

Just so you know, we came #1 last time we faced DB. Only reason we dropped a tier cause of a stupid point system.

I personally can’t wait get back to Tier 4, it was allot more active in terms of PvP in WvW. You didn’t have to go hunting for ages to find a target.

Video should be out of the zerg busting in a few nights once Oozo has time to mess with them. Was a fun zerg stomp, we probably had 12-14 with us consisting of 1 BSty, about 5-6 Larp/Noqq.

Unfortunately after the latest patch Arena Net broke my graphics and I have to run everything on low to attain the FPS I used to have with everything on medium / high.

There isn’t to much burst damage, there just big gap between bad players and good players. A good player will dodge….

None of this has anything to do with my point, which is the amount of damage done in initial bursts. Obviously if the burst doesn’t hit for whatever reason, there’s nothing to worry about…. but I’m specifically talking about the amount of damage done when IT ACTUALLY HITS….

All this macho chest thumping about how anyone who thinks burst is too high must be a bad player who smashes his key board and doesn’t know about the dodge key is pure nonsense. It’s made up in your head to justify bad game mechanics.

I kill people with high burst far more often than I’m killed by it, but rather than take the time to understand my point you’ve made an assumption about me, and the vast majority of players in the game, based on no experience playing with or against any of them.

I’ll explain it AGAIN, because some of you are having a hard time comprehending….

BURST DAMAGE IT TOO HIGH.

The video proves it. If you dodge the burst, combat continues as it should. But if you LAND THE BURST… as I said in my first comment, IT IS TOO HIGH. People die within seconds, and that’s broken game play in my opinion. That’s all there is to it.

Burst is rather low in the video. Take it you haven’t seen real burst builds.

Once again its all to do with skill, there is big gap between your newbie zerger and weathered vet zerger.

Hopefully I worded that better for you. Seems your so focused on being right, you can even open your eyes and see that dulling down the burst damage isn’t the problem.

Players take risk to have high burst builds at the cost of tank, if they fail they normal die just as fast as the target there trying to kill.

So its a trade off.

Do you understand now or are you going to write wall of text about the burst damage is to much. When you kitten well know burst isn’t a problem for a skilled player, so yes it comes back to LEARN TO PLAY and shut up with the QQQQQQQQQQQQQQ.

Like to know what your talking about, I’m having no problems sure fighting big zergs is bit on down side, but small scale battles we own.

I’m not talking about 12 people beating up ONE guy….. I’m talking about the actual video and how it demonstrates that burst damage is too high. This isn’t 12 people focusing on 1 player and killing them too fast… It’s 12 people using initial bursts to desimate larger forces within seconds.

There’s nothing wrong with what the guys in the video are doing, they’re playing the game as it works best, but it demonstrates a flaw in the game… BURST is too high. Lowering burst damage would have a huge impact on the fights in this video, because it wouldn’t be over as soon as they hit their initial combo attacks.

Sustained damage is fine, burst is the problem.

You should really watch some proper guild vs guild fights sometime, so you can see how little “who can land the combo first” actually matters when you’re fighting against people who know where their dodge key is.

Lines like this show me how little you even undestood my point. Better to attack other players than simply watch the video and see how much damage the initial burst does.

There isn’t to much burst damage, there just big gap between bad players and good players. A good player will dodge or proc there save me skill. A bad player will walk backwards smashing his keyboard and most likely doesn’t even have a save me skill.

I run a S/D + SB ranger. I’m only level 20 atm but feel very confident even roaming solo in WvW. They are a solid class.

Lolzers in my trousers.

Ranger is a bad class to start out on. It’s lacking self-synergy, and it’s an uphill battle all the way.

But if you like pain, go for it.

Speaking as an 80 ranger with 150+ skill points from wvw and an 80 thief with 50+ skill points.

I also have a thief with over 1000 current hours played on it. A s/d ranger will give any thief a run for their money if played properly. The highly evasive nature of the build causes a ton of initiative wasting for the thief. Don’t build glass cannon, stack toughness, condition damage, and vitality. Currently the only class I’ve not beaten in 1v1 vs 80s on a regular basis is mesmers.

You can’t expect people to believe this hogwash, now do you?

I have roughly 7000 kills as a Thief, with roughly 50 deaths, and 5000 kills as a Ranger with rhoughly 200 deaths. I also sport a 80 Warrior, and 80 Guardian.

You could not kill any of my 80 toons, let alone killing the ones with regen, while I was afk. A GOOD Thief doesn’t die, let alone to a Ranger of all classes. <laughs>

Ok, keep fighting baddies with glass cannon builds who use nothing but shortbow. I’m sure you will continue to farm kills. It’s painfully obvious you’ve never fought a ranger with a dueling build….. As for the afk bit, most laughable thing I’ve read in these forums to date.

Oh, and for the record, I never claimed to win every fight vs 80. Only stated that I do regularly kill players at that level. At some point skill differential supercedes the level difference.

The Ranger, and Necromancer needs buffs. To say otherwise proves a bias, probably towards your Thief. If you really do have a Theif with 1000 hours played, you and I both know both these classes are free kills for us.

Aside from that, there is a reason you have 1000 hours played as a Thief, and your Ranger is only level 20.

The difference between you, and me, is I have over 300 hours played on a Ranger, and have leveled 4 toons to 80, fully gearing them out in exotics. Unlike FOTM players, I want a balanced game.

300+ is bit little to even really have a say on rangers…………

Wow, I just finishing dueling several [OG] players in Maguuma BL. I have to say they really have some great players. We couldn’t manage to beat their 3v3 or 2v2 teams with the classes and traits we had set up. I did however manage to defeat them in several 1v1’s with out any losses, though it was very tough. We would definitly like to fight you guys again someday in some more 3v3 and 2v2 match ups. Maybe even 5v5’s would be great.

Once again you guys prove you know your stuff in PvP and I enjoy fighting you guys because it only makes us all better players. Thank you for the epic battles tonight.

Was some good duelling, I personally wish there was more classes then just Mesmers/Thiefs/Ele to duel against. Its extremely frustrating fighting Thief’s. I swear each time I’d be one shot off winning, boom “CLOAK” come back healed up LoL. Trust me as ranger its frustrating.

Favourite fight of the night was vs the D/D Ele, I would of liked to have finished it might of taken a while but there would of been a winner.

Enjoyed the duel against the EDGE P/D thief was fun but once again frustrating.

Most painful class of the night was the Mesmer’s no shock there they tend to own in 1v1.

My guildies enjoyed fighting you even though it would have lasted forever, lol. So he just sat down and took it. Heck, I enjoyed fighting you as well even though it never got to be finished.

Yeah I tried to trick him when I sat down it almost worked, but yeah vs P/D I need work on my interruption little better, one point there I just missed it and if I got it was game over, I was gutted sit enjoyed fighting him but. Vs your Mesmer was kinda like hell, couldn’t find ya and hit me like a road train. GG & GF all-round.

So since Bunzy has no idea how to watch his own video, here’s the “truth”.

At the start of the video you’ll JUST TWO WäR guys finally find OG after talking for 10 minutes trying to get an organized fight going.

At 0:05 you’ll see on the mini map that we get jumped by 2 guys from Maguuma.
At 0:10 you’ll count 5 OG players
At 0:20 you’ll see 2 OG players join the fight
At 0:30 you’ll see the 2 WäR guys retreat and ask for help from any nearby guildies.
At 1:40 you’ll see what looks like 5 WäR guys, but one is a mesmer clone. Verified at 1:47 when a clone is destroyed.

Anyways at the end my guys lose, and I said that we did lose this fight. At the end it was 5 vs 7 (8 if you include the random necro who shows up near the end)

We had a rematch later with the conditions reversed (we slightly outnumbered OG as they did in the first fight) and WäR won.

Bunzy then said he was going to bring 5 more guys to crush us, so I brought a few more and won again.

So again, your only victory was the first battle in which we were jumped and had to call nearby guildies who didn’t want to duel into this fight. But again congrats, you guys do have some strong players.

Hopefully next time I’m there on my ranger. Also I’m x FIST used team up with Razzer Fel. Sucks he left for CoD.
