2-3 hour siege to take Stonemist from Maguuma and they just walk right back in with no resistance.

This server really makes me sad sometimes. I was standing right on the entry point when they showed up, and gave everyone at least 10 minute warning in all borderlands. No one came.

The odds are not in our favor at this time.

I use mending most of the time for skirmishes and zerging, while healing surge if I’m using a hammer, and healing signet if tanking to hold a ram.

A few hundred badges for the first two nights of the matchup is a good indicator of the action. Really active battlefields this week. If you’re looking for a fight just walk 50 yards in any direction.

The battle for second place is really tight right now. I can’t imagine we’d lose participation with this level of action (except maybe in the jumping puzzles). There are some large Maguuma groups you have to watch out for but we’ve also had some really good extended battles. Overall, the target-rich environment is much more fun than hitting doors. Hopefully CD and Maguuma are enjoying the fights as well.

I take what I earlier wrote. Maguuma may be as strong as YB. Both Servers should DUKE IT OUT.

Hmmm. Maguma is strong in open ground but not as strong as YB over all. While EB is not strong in open ground but good in Siege tactics, SBI is scary. You bare fangs early this reset time.

Guardians. They’ll soak the damage with their bunker builds. ANd warriors will stop the enemies with their hammer ultimate attack. Everything else will fall. After that. insert your ele’s thieves rangers etc.

Thanks Yak’s Bend, for double teaming us, constantly, all the time, while Crystal Desert’s borderlands almost always remained untouched. I guess taking stuff from a server that can’t challenge you is fun. We had second place for a while, but even a server as skilled as ours can’t hold off 100x the amount of players we have.

Next time, attack Crystal Desert more.

Yeah I was a bit confused by his post as well, EB generally sends all their dudes to their own BL.

YB comes to your map because you actually fight back, whereas CDBL is usually a snoozefest with little resistance. Points-wise it would obviously be better to turn CDBL green every NA shift but the match outcome isn’t in doubt and we don’t like getting bored.

But just to clarify, CD hardly ever comes to your map, they bring maybe 20 dudes for 5 minutes periodically to pretend to attack and then go straight back to their own BL. So EBBL is a 1v1 most of the time. You guys definitely know how to defend properly, though all things being equal defenders technically should never lose a keep with equal numbers against only 1 attacking server, especially when starting the shift with WPs and 1000s of supply.

It’s not really equal numbers on both sides. CD has a bad habit of attacking when they see you guys in our borderlands. I’m not whining or anything… it’s a good tactic. We do the same if we find Yak’s attacking CD, and Yak’s definitely goes for CD when they see us making progress on their map. It’s all part of the game. Still, the point I’m trying to make is that it’s rarely been EBay vs Yak’s. Unlike when you guys get a queue in our home borderlands, our players are split two-ways. Yesterday was a pretty good example of this. We got two orange x-swords showing up on opposite sides of the map: one from Yak’s and one from CD.

All I’m trying to say is try not to look at it so black and white. You’re entirely right, if we are on equal ground, then we shouldn’t lose a keep. That’s just not always the case is all. EBBL has rarely been 1v1 this week.

Great fights this week at the Bay. I’ve never seen that side of the map get so much attention during one of our matchups, so it’s been a nice change of pace from bunkering down in Hills.

In CD BL, there is no queue 24/7 in all borderlands. With the exception of LA/Dragon spawning maps.

This makes too much sense to ever actually happen. CD night crew is a real enigma to me. I don’t understand the appeal of being able to flip an entire map every night against little to no resistance. I was sick a week or so back and actually played a whole night with the outmanned buff against CD, I just don’t see how they have fun every evening. Id’a quit long ago.

Yaks on the other hand appears to me to be an eastern time zone heavy group. We face heavy attack from them in the late afternoon… I’m usually running into extremely large Yaks forces if I get a chance to play from work later in the day. By the time our main raids come online, we seem to only be squaring off against Yaks main force for a couple of hours before they don’t have the will or ability to really withstand our attacks. When I go to bed at anywhere from midnight to 3am PST, Yaks is in rough shape and CD is just waking up.

If CD night crew joined you guys you could make a real fight of T3 instead of floating back down here looking like a bruised kitten every 2nd week.

Honestly I don’t know how Yaks and Mags do T4. When EBay goes to T5 my guild starts running training exercises to keep interested, our leaders start asking questions like “how do you interact with onion patches and what do they do for you?”, getting other people to teach them what PvE is and all sorts of weird stuff. It’s a very odd experience. I’d imagine a lot of T4 is the same for you.

Hehe, we have this new guild merging going on. And someone finally taught me how to do AC dungeon exp path 1,2, and 3.

In turn, we’re teaching our pve counterparts to play and enjoy WVW.

Can someone confirm that setting shouts to auto-attack only work now when you are in combat along side another player.

To test this you can set a shout to auto-attack in Lions Arch and start it and see if it keeps going. This used to work prior to the Feb Patch.

Yeah i have for great justice auto locked and it only goes off in combat. that patch saved me from going insane

Yeah but it seems to be a bit touchy on when and if it works. I just didn’t see anything in the patch notes that said it was “fixed” like this. So I am curious if its working as intended now or broken?

I think they noticed that auto buffs keep afk players from getting booted from game.

Power vitality and toughness is better than power healing power and toughness ? The reason I ask is the Cleric Armor has power healing power and toughness.

Power healing toughness is okay too if you plan to specialize on being a cleric – healing friends w/ your shouts or supporting your team with your banners.

Cool thanks Sovereign! I think for open world PvE I’ll go for Axe/Warhorn and Rifle but for dungeons i’ll use a shield instead. Any ideas of a trait setup to go with this?

If you want to play offensively. 20/0/20/0/30 works fine. But if you’re the party support. 15/0/25/30/0 or 10/0/30/30/0 = first one allows you to abuse your burst and regain energy while still able to use healing shouts/banner, and the latter is purely for tanking.

I don’t mind killing or getting killed in JP. It is part of WVW. Suggest, have a party to go there; so you don’t get pawned.

He solo’s everytime we see him. A few minutes later his number of troops come, but always after 5 minutes or so.

It is either he’s roaming to look for us or… we always find him by accident.
