Brainstorm: Tower's Supreme Hallucination

You enter the tower with your party. Everything goes black. You wake up 2 days later in your home instance, alone. There’s no sign of your party. Also it smells like something is burning. Oh wait, that’s just the buildings. You try to pry the door of your house open, perhaps looking to salvage some of your belongings. You find a charr cub minipet wandering around your house aimlessly. There’s also a Destroyer locked in your bathroom. So begins the epic story arc of finding the rest of your party. And yes, you did steal a Pact airship.

Are you kidding me? This is the best thing that’s happened in a long time. You know how when you down a sylvari and then some krait runs over to res them? Yeah, they don’t like to stop trying. So if one were to, I don’t know, drop an AoE on the downed mob, you could get two kills for the price of one. More importantly, this shifts the focus away from lelelellelelelelzerker and lelelelleehealthpools towards what could potentially be interesting gameplay that allows you to prioritise disabling /not necessarily killing/ the biggest problem first and dealing a ton of damage to the poor saps who try to get him back in the fight. I don’t know, maybe I’m insane for wanting gameplay with more depth than autoattack x guys till they die?

I very understood why people are in such a fuss about this. Would everyone have preferred the Krait to stay as an evil one dimensional race? Because, that’s all they are at the moment. Their “we’re already superior to everyone” mentally doesn’t really lend itself well to growth on the lore department, because they already think themselves perfect.

But hey, who am I to judge. Maybe people would have preferred this to be a solo Krait LS. They could have made a small tower, in the middle of the lake, out of sunken ships and debris, just to show everyone just how evil and superior they are to everyone else. Doesn’t that sound fun?

There’s a million ways the Krait could have pulled off the next LS release without involving Scarlet or her NC buddies. They could have built the tower to ascend another prophet. Or a big sacrifice ceremony that requires a buttload of slaves and somewhere to rip them apart. Or maybe the tower could have been a beacon for that army the Krait were waiting for. Why not all three at once? There’s a million things it could have been that wouldn’t have broken any lore just to make one crappy villain look interesting.

Like I said in that other thread, I’m already digging the hole. So far Retcon Wars could kind of almost get by based on the fact that it was played off as “well the historian who wrote that was wrong/that’s how things were so far as he knew” but this is hardly applicable in this situation. The Krait working with anyone at all is preposterous based on lore blog posts. If the Krait are, in fact, working with the NC in any way, shape or form beyond “we’ll have you do this for us then pull your guts out and strangle you with them” puts the Krait lore post under question. Making one of the blog posts turn out straight up WRONG in regards to what we see in-game means that all of the other lore posts might as well be wrong. A keen observer might point out that this is a slippery slope argument, and you’d be right… If it wasn’t for that part where so much lore has already been retconned/repurposed/never mentioned again. Indeed, this isn’t the first step in a long, long process that kills all the lore off, it’s merely the next step in a long line of such (sometimes necessary, but for the most part painfully pointless) retcons.

I’m sure Scarlet will bring the Mursaat and Abaddon and Dhuum and Menzies and the revived bodies of every GW1 PC and the Pact and the Elder Dragons all together. It’s not like that’d be complete nonsense and completely out of line with any and all lore ever. In fact, it seems to be what Anet are shooting for nowadays. Now, if you’ll all pardon me, I’m going to go dig a grave in my back yard for all the lore so it can have a peaceful resting place when they’re done violating it.

I think the best villain in this case would be one you never get to actually kill. I proposed this as a possibility in the Krait thread, but it works as an example here too.

Imagine the Krait are building one of those prophet ascension pillars in Kessex Hills. When it’s done, the wannabe prophet priest shows up, he throws some people on a pyre or whatever and ascends. We try to stop him, but we’re foiled at every turn, and at the last moment, right as we get to him, he ascends. He’s now somewhere we can’t go and that we know absolutely nothing about. The only thing we do know is that the Krait are very convinced that that guy and many more like him are going to invade Tyria one day with an army big enough to wipe everything that’s not playin on team Krait out.

Your top 3 lore loose ends.

SpeedFiend.4521

Hm, given that there’s many loose ends, that’s a tough question.

  1. The origin of humanity. Where did humans originally come from? Why did they leave? What is it that only Abaddon among all the gods remembers? Was it really that bad? I mean, look at the mess we’re in now. If this is supposed to be better, I’m itchin to know what was worse. Balthazar carries his freakin father’s head through the portal, why would he have that? Just what went down on that world?
  2. The events of and around the last dragonrise. How was everyone doing before it happened? Who did Kralkatorrik fight and get wounded by? How advanced were the Jotun? Who awoke first? When were the Elder Dragons finally sated?
  3. The origins of the Pale Tree. Consequently, the purpose of the Sylvari, are they dragon minions or not? What’s the deal with that other tree? Are the Nightmare Court the intended nature of Sylvari, are the other tree guys the “stock” model? There are seriously a lot of questions that need answering to wrap this one up.

SpeedFiend.4521

Maybe the Krait are trying to pull a Baelfire and get one of their priests to ascend? We know the pillars supposedly mark locations where Krait prophets ascended. Maybe they found some funky boo-boo-matic wheeze calculator or whatever that makes them think they could ascend another prophet? Those earlier ones have been gone for ages, after all, and the whole Krait race is kinda waiting on them to come back with that army. Seems plausible they’d want to send someone up (or down or whatever direction Krait deem favourable) there and see what the hold up is.

Supposing this is their endgame for this construction site:

  • The location makes sense, they don’t have the orb anymore and this is as far as they can get from Orr. Zhaitan’s minions do have a thing for strong magic since that’s what the boss eats, it makes sense to do all the crazy powerful magic as far away from them as possible now that simply killing the minions doesn’t work.
  • If they’re not worried about Zhaitan and/or his crew, that’s still about as far from Orr and all those pesky Pact fellows with their submarines and whole freakin invasion force as they could hope to get without needing a new zone somewhere silly.
  • What if some Krait hatchling put on a Krait fedora and felt euphoric not because of some false prophets’ blessing, but because he’s englightened by his own intelligence? Surely, after promptly gutting him, the priesthood would want to demonstrate that Krait religion is legit by making a brand-spankin-new prophet?
  • What if it doesn’t work? We kill whoever the head honcho is or the ritual goes wrong and the whole thing blows up in his face, then what? If we’re responsible, that’d surely lead to massive Krait retribution. If it simply doesn’t work, it could lead to civil war.
  • What if it does work? We show up, try to stop the bad guy, but alas, his ritual is successful and he ascends, vanishing. That would be quite the twist, since we’d have definitive proof Krait religion is actually more than a bunch of stories the priests come up with to stay in control. We’d have a (presumably very powerful) evil entity on the loose somewhere we can’t get to or even know anything about.

I just hope this isn’t more Scarlet.

The thing that irks me about this is, based off of what OP said, is that what Angel said can be read both ways. I run 25/20/0/25/0, adjusting major traits for weapon set. Seems flexible enough to me, seeing as I’ve run nothing else since November or so.

DA-wise I like to run mug for the aw snap heal/entertainment factor of killing stuff while otherwise disabled. Dagger/combined training based on whether I’m using daggers or not, obviously.

Between CS and acro you’ll get to tweak your healing/init regen/might stacking/situational weapon-based traits and get the most out of whatever you’re using.

If you’re not really gonna need to bring any utility to your party going full signet with signets of power/signet use is pretty baller – 20% signet CD, 5 mights and 2 init on signet use. Combo with either Assassin’s Reward or Quick Recovery depending on if you want less button mashing and more healing or more buttonmashing and less paying attention. I don’t personally run AR ever, but hey, the option is there.

Between the 50 kinds of initiative gain you should be able to BP/PW you way through just about anything.

Another thing worth mentioning – power of inertia with the 25% boon duration you get from acro and a set of 3×20% might runes is pretty fun if you’re also running signet traits.

Most useful ally and deadly enemy?

in Lore

Posted by: SpeedFiend.4521

SpeedFiend.4521

Observed ally: Order of Whispers
They have agents everywhere, both overt and covert. They keep tabs on essentially everything ever, and are the only ones still capable of communicating with Elona. If they manage to imprison Palawa Joko again, they could basically bring in a whole continent worth of backup.

Guessed ally: Livia
She’s had the Scepter of Orr (if only for a time). Assuming she didn’t destroy it like we did with the Staff of the Mists, she would know where it currently is. Once you put that in play, you can basically cheat to win.

Observed Enemy: The Sylvari. They threaten to ruin the entire game by being Anet’s golden child.

Metagaming aside, the biggest observed enemy would have to be Alternate Reality Tyria, subjugated by the evil asura PC. Said Tyria has everything we have resource-wise, and, if a single person managed to subjugate it with steam creature technology, then odds are they’d already dealt with that really pressing Elder Dragon problem we still have.

Guessed Enemy: The Abaddon and Dhuum duet featuring Menzies and his cavalcade of shadow horrors. Two of them may seem to be down for the count, but you have to remember that Dhuum busts out every once in a while (and if this happens while the glorious mortal heroes of Tyria can’t help the limp-wristed Reapers of Grenth wrangle him back, then we’d be pretty boned. Unlike the PC necromancers, this guy is, in fact, death incarnate. Menzies and Balthazar fight each other into a standstill without our intervention, and we aren’t intervening right now. More importantly, this standstill happens while fairly large portions of the Shadow Army aren’t where the fighting is, so it’s a pretty safe bet that Menzies would eventually mop the floor with Balthazar if he commited his full resources to it. And then there’s that demon-spawning, tentacle-sprouting, ever-plotting, secret-knowing spider god-smashing mac daddy of em all.

I have to agree, and totally not because we run dungeons together every day. We’re already at the first boss and you went afk as soon as you entered the dungeon without saying a word? You’re out, someone who doesn’t do that stuff is in. You say nothing when the inevitable “So, uh, whos never done this before?” question pops even though you’ve, in fact, never done this before and it’s painfully obvious? And even then continue to ignore what the plan/strat/whatever you wanna call it and continue doing something that won’t work? I ain’t gettin any younger, and neither is the guy who actually will listen to advice who will replace you.

Let me steer this topic back to the dungeon at hand. What do you do when a certain ele in your party won’t stay near the door with everyone else at Slick&co? When they have no notion of how/what to kite? When they refuse to take the kitten ooze to the freaking oil patch while they have the ooze pheromone buff? When this has happened not once, but twice in a row and the person in question won’t stick to the plan and communicates with the rest of the part about as much as a piece of dining room furniture? Yeah, no, that doesn’t work for me.

It’s your first time? Well you don’t say? Mine too! And no, I didn’t watch the guide on youtube or what have you, because I actually enjoy going into a dungeon with absolutely no prior knowledge of what to do on day 1 and figuring it out. Not surprisingly, this is a somewhat iterative process. You try something, it blows up in your face, everyone dies. You take something away from that experience, improve your plan, and try again. You look at what skills your class can bring to the table, change your approach and refine your methods until that big dungeon boss’ cold dead corpse rests at your feet. Rinse and repeat with every encounter until you’ve smashed everything that dungeon has to throw at you.

You’re going to quit after 2 tries because lel guise this (n)hard(n+2)me? You won’t stick to the plan? You’ll actively prevent said plan from even standing a chance at working by either not paying attention to what it is (didn’t read lel) or by not caring to do anything more than do a couple dodge rolls (if even that in some cases) while DPSing (or not DPSing, as the case may be). Hate to break it to you, but this isn’t a charity run. Get with the program or out is the direction in which you may get the flamingo.

Got this on my first playthrough under some weird circumstances. On the first pull we accidentally killed a pair of veterans, eventually wiping. On the second attempt we pulled him with a couple of his buddies to the back corner of the room. We figured the chivo was already off the table so we killed the aggrod members of his posse. 3/5 party members were dead by the time we got him to 40%, and our other remaining party member went down at around 5%. After finishing off the boss with my crappy guardian downed skills, we got the achievement.

Party members dying sure didn’t fail the achievement for us, and neither did killing about 1/5th the veterans before the boss himself.

Krait religion and our old friend

in Lore

SpeedFiend.4521

I’m gonna just go with Konig’s reply, since it’s by far the most comprehensive.

  1. Abaddon does get his jollies from sacrifice, perhaps not in the traditional “kill that guy to appease me” fashion. His agents and allies provide souls for him and his army, as you’ve already pointed out. This does not preclude some more eager servants sending said souls home straight out of the fleshy box they just resided in. We know Varesh kills off the priests in Grand Court of Sebelkeh in what sounds to be like very sacrificial-like manner.
Varesh Ossa: “I have done what is necessary, old friend, for the good of my god and my land.”
Morgahn:“You have washed this holy place in blood! You promised to spare my priests!”

Morgahn’s men are also dismissed as simply “more blood” for Varesh’s rituals in the same conversation, which seems to indicate sacrifice is in the Abaddon-approved handbook of magic.
  2. The Margonite people were born. The Nightfall-era Margonites who are full-blown corrupted demons are explicitly stated to be sterile, so the only way to get more of those is to corrupt some new ones. Whether non-humans can or cannot be corrupted into such Margonites is a whole other question, but surely the same process can make Kraitonites if it can’t produce the more human-variety out of them.
  3. Nothing to say here, just needed to get to number 4.
  4. A human god being revered by non-humans in modern day Tyria is not a precedent. I emphasise modern day, as that’s the point in time furthest from the Exodus and hence you’d think faith in the gods would be at an all time low. Quaggans have their totally-not-Melandru-at-all goddess and a certain grawl tribe worship “Badazar”. Krait could be worshipping Abaddon either knowingly or even be completely in the dark about it.
  5. Abaddon’s fall is rather outside the scope of what I’m talking about here. The “good” Abaddon probably wouldn’t be that into the Krait. The not-so-good Abaddon who aims to engulf the world in darkness, on the other hand, could have a very real use for a nigh-invincible army of worshippers who reside in one of his home turfs.
  6. I was discounting other possible origins for the orb when I asked who’d possibly be incompetent enough to let such a weapon be stolen from them. As you said, the orb originates from the depths, and hey, that’s probably where the god of the depths would leave such a thing hanging around for his worshippers.
  7. Pretty sad, isn’kitten

Krait religion and our old friend

in Lore

Posted by: SpeedFiend.4521

SpeedFiend.4521

So the recent Krait thread had me re-read the blog post about them. The Krait Prophets could have been chosen of Abaddon. Right, let’s get to the why:

  • The Krait acquire slaves for sacrifice. Abaddon is an avid fan of sacrifice, and so are his minions. He diverted the river of soules, and stole souls from the Underworld. Sacrifices are made to him in the progress of Nightfall as well.
  • Margonites aren’t born, they’re made. Through corruption the “ascended” Krait prophets may become margonites. Or just assorted torment creatures/titans/just used as a power source for Abaddon himself.
  • The Margonites/Torment creatures could be the divine army the Krait are waiting on.
  • The Krait are a frikken aquatic species. Surely the god of Water knows what these guys are up to and has some plan or use for them.
  • The Priests keep many secrets from the rest of Krait society. Something the god of Secrets would be able to help with and approve of.
  • The Krait have that undeadification-blocking orb. That super-magical god-person prolly to blame. It’s unlikely to have come from a surface race; Who’d throw something like that away? Or let it be stolen? Would anyone really be that stupid? Or is it more likely that Abaddon gifted his hidden servants with a superweapon for the coming rise of the dragons?
  • It’s always Abaddon.

Any thoughts? Is it even possible, and if so, is there any other more likely explanation?

Before someone calls me elitist for the following body of text, save your breath/typing fingers, everyone’s heard that one and nobody cares.

I PUG dungeons. Every day. I run with 1-2 friends and then fill the group out with whoever is willing. We have a regular rotation (AC3, SE1, HotW1, CoF1/2, the quick ones). I don’t have a problem with people who are new to these particular dungeons. I have a problem when they’ve obviously never done this before, yet vehemently deny this fact. Some quick examples:

SE1, elementalist spends the whole Nokk fight in water attunement, DPSing from the edge of the platform. I have to wizard stability to keep him from flying off for the whole fight. Fun. We establish the projectile blocking/reflecting order for golems, 2/3 of this is up to me and my friend. the last 1/3rd doesn’t go so well.

Another example from the same night:
AC3, we get a 3 man party merge. These guys were obviously looking to do story mode (highest level one was 50). Me and my friend stack up at the usual spot and request the others follow suit. No dice. We get one dead on the stairs, the other two run out into the spider room and die almost instantly. After waiting a particuarly long time for them to waypoint, they stack up. I expressly request that nobody moves. Well they do, and we wipe. They promply mass offline.

Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem running dungeons with people who’ve never done them, and I’ve taken more than a few people through their first SE1/COF2 rodeo (I always tell my PUG what we’re doing next and ask if they wanna tag along). It’s always been smooth sailing, as we take care to instruct these players beforehand what they need to do and so on to ensure a quick, clean run. Now that gw2lfg is more in-game than ever, it seems more and more people are taking to run dungeons, and that’s great. But there is an alarming trend of people not having any experience and turning what is usually a leisurely stroll into pulling teeth because they both deny not knowing what to do and refuse to follow advice given by the people who do. I run a full cleric guardian for pug dungeons, and I can usually keep even the mostly glassy people alive through most fights by sheer healing output, but there are limits to what this healing output can do.

Let me make one more thing clear, I don’t like to kick people, though my buddies will frequently request a second. But when someone pretends to know what they should do (when it is painfully obvious they don’t) and cause all sorts of trouble that makes everyone waste their time, resulting in people leaving or the player in question getting kicked. This wastes everyone’s time, and it’s not cool. It also puts my jeffries in a fluster something fierce.

I’ll just end this thread with the following plea: If you don’t know what to do, please kindly say so, we’re not gonna bite your head off or show up at your house with a baseball bat. And when someone outlines the strategy for a given boss fight, don’t spout your “play muh way” mantra when you’re DPSing a perfectly meleeable single target boss fight with a freaking shortbow, while claiming you’ve done this dungeon hundreds of times.

Bash me if you will, I’ve said what we’ve all been thinking.

I could be mistaken, but I believe the NPC said that the repeated encounters were what allowed the Vigil to noticed his advanced tactics, and not that they were the cause of the “evolution”.

Vigil tacticians have noticed that Tequatl has been improving its battle strategies with every emergence.

In other words he gets better every time he attacks.

The "story" of Tequatl Rising

SpeedFiend.4521

Also found interesting that they mentioned ancient, would mean that, unlike The Shatterer and The Claw of Jormag, Tequatl is not recycled every time upon defeat by a new one.

Because he isn’t. The Shatterer gets blown up by the giant cannon, the Claw drowns in the water. Teq appears from the water and then retreats after being defeated (or that’s what he did until now anyway). So while we fight a brand-spankin-new Shatterer/Claw (notice it’s referred to as A Claw of Jormag, not the Claw of Jormag) every time, Tequatl is actually the same dragon every time. Unlike the other two, we don’t really get to kill him outright, as he successfully retreated back from whence he came every time. As for him gaining power, this is also explained – the NPC states that these repeated encounters have allowed him to improve his attack plan.

Quick example:
Orrian Sapling/Copper logging axe = red border, indicating you won’t successfully gather
Platinum node/Mithril pick = blue border, indicating the gathering tool is of higher quality than the node
Mithril node/Mithril pick = yellow border, indicating you’ve got the exact right tool for the job.

A small change that I’m sure won’t be too hard to implement that will save a lot of people from accidentally ruining nodes. This is especially true in the case of harvesting cooking materials, which are plentiful and hard to remember, thus making “all lesser plants” particularly useless as a tooltip.

Do we still get sent to Underworld if we’re on a US server, or will it be somewhere worse like Maguuma?

That made me think of a brilliant idea….Dhuum can banish you from your server and send you to Europe, or vice-versa!

What if he banishes you to the secret banned server where all the banned bots and players are? Dhuum’s personally banned bots in gw1, after all.

Upcoming bodyshot change.

You’re forgetting that all that stuff condenses down into 9 or so bars of deldrimor steel. It takes a whole lot of crappy metals (Iron, Steel, Darksteel and Mithril) smelted together with the vast majority discarded because it’s not of the required quality. The remaining 9 ingots of Deldrimor Steel are made of a miniscule amount of all the materials in your list and is basically all the good stuff which you’d find miniscule amounts of in an average bar of iron or whatever.

You missed a few.

Dredge Commissar – daze on hit skill now takes up the first 20 minutes of this revamped fight. Boss despawns if he isn’t attacked for longer than 5 seconds.

Fire Shaman -now spawns a fire elemental every time his health is depleted, gaining more abilities and spamming more minions every time. There’s no way to truly defeat this encounter, as it just continues scaling to infinity until the server is reset. The only way to win is to never play.

Eye of Zhaitan will now fly across the zone, zapping players with pew pew lazor eyebeams. Players wishing to down him will have to get an Aion account and fight him from there. Drops 3 guaranteed precursors every time, but since you get them on Aion, they’re useless.

Foulbear Chieftain – Destroying the ogre kraal has been deemed too violent by ogre rights activists. The assaulting players will now attempt to deal with the ogre problem by out-breeding them, forcing them to eventually leave due to the complete depletion of natural resources in Fields of Ruin. This event is planned to last for approximately 150-250 years. Rewards will be claimable in Guild Wars 3.

Risen High Wizard will now challenge players to a swag-off. The wizard’s determination will be depleted by players linking sweet weapons in map chat, eventually causing him to flee in shame.

Karka Queen – the new fight mechanics require rounding up young karka and teaching them the virtues and benefits of democracy. Event completes when the young karka become fully grown and after an arduous revolutionary effort, subsidized by players handing in weapons, armor and food at the Karka relations liaison Lionguard Lyns.

Megadestroyer This reworked event sees players attempt to stop the volcano stabilizing process that spawns the Megadestroyer in the first place by destroying the three Aetherovariation modules after burning the research camp to the ground. Unforunately, the loot chest still spawns in the same place and now becomes inaccessible due to the volcano erupting.

Temple of Melandru
The Risen Priest of Melandru is now defeated by players bringing exceptionally large vegetables to the Cursed Shore agricultural exhibit. Once enough oversized vegetables have been cultivated by players in their home instances and brought to the exhibition, the priest resigns that maybe he doesn’t really have Melandru’s blessing and abandons his defense of the temple.

Hey, I know how to fix this. Give every class a stealth counter. Then give thieves an every class counter.

Hit a warrior? He’s naked now. Hah. Poke a mesmer? Their clones exlpode, doing damage to them instead of you. Slapped a guardian? He can’t block or heal. Tapped a ranger on the shoulder? Their pet kills them. Those pesky necros? Entering DS makes them instantly go downed, that’ll learn em. What about engineers? How about all their skills backfire, killing them? Elementalists? Random attunement swap every 2 seconds! Oh, and make it interrupt casting. Because why not. See an enemy thief? Ha, you can’t attack him because we’re all friends here.

I can’t wait till we get some <insert class and mechanic>counterplay here. Because apparently that means taking a big, steamy dump on whatever is central to each class.

P/P is frankly terrible and it’s nice to see it’s finally getting some actual work done. I kind of question the move of adding support to it though. P/P is kind of the only single target ranged damage option, and it’s frankly crap at doing damage. Obviously pistols are a delicate issue (can’t really touch 1/2 or 4/5 without breaking a bunch of stuff) so that leaves one skill to make p/p viable with.

Unload needs work for pve (not going to get into pvp because that’s way complicated and even suggestions often end up causing pain in the lower back region for some people). It’s just terribad at what it does. Wanna not get killed? Gotta dodge and break unload. Wanna do damage? Gotta not dodge and get killed. Add a % evasion to unload, for example attacks made against you while channeling unload have a 20% miss chance. By not having to break 80% of your unloads early you end up increasing the actual damage output. Or let unload continue channeling through dodges as long as your target stays in range and inside your firing arc.

Alternatively, get rid of the % vuln stacking trait (does anyone ever even use that?) and add that vuln stacking to unload, no cooldown but lower proc chance. The notion of messing up your target’s armor by blasting them repeatedly with a flurry of gunfire makes sense to me, anyway.

Even more alternatively-er. Unload is 5 init, 1 3/4s channel and 8 shots. Change it to 5 init, 2s channel and 10 shots, adjusting it to maintain the same DPS it does now. Then change the unload mechanic to work like the “hold down to dash longer” skills, taking 1 initiative per every 2 shots every .4 seconds. This would solve a lot of issues – you can now dodge without gimping your pve damage output by letting go of the button at the appropriate time. You can still dump initiative for damage, but now you can more precicely ensure you’ve still got enough to interrupt critical skills (not stuck channeling and thus unable to headshot, not forced to choose between doing laughable autoattack damage and being 1-2 init short when it’s time for headshot).

These are just some suggestions off the top of my head, but for the love of Abaddon, fix thief single target ranged damage in pve somehow.

The original plan was to have in-game books somewhat like the ones made available in the GW1 Bonus Mission Pack content. We wrote nearly 100 of them but were unable to implement them due to the book tech getting cut from development in the months leading up to GW2’s release. We may revisit the idea one day.

FYI I’ve began assembling a crack squad of ex commandos to break into your office and get those never published bits of lore for my reading pleasure and insane speculation purposes.

Yes, I’m aware the book states her gravesite is outside the Brand. In-game, however, we see a whole other story. The book came first, so the in-game thing is the “latest retcon” the way I see it. That and there appears to be no other way to get into the glen than through the Brand.

No one is going to take you seriously if you’re kittening all over the place.
Kailynn and Adamantium basically summed it up. You don’t like it, doesn’t mean they should stop developing it. SAB has returned twice in over one year, how is that too much?

Lets see. SAB was a full month update in April and a half month update now. That’s 1.5 months out of <12 the game has been getting updates for. I’m no math genius, but that means 1/8th the game updates have been SAB. Yeah, you bet your sweet kitten it’s too much. This was fine as an odd curiosity, and I was even ok with letting the “special” 8 bit weapons stick, but now it’s just getting dumb. And yes, nobody is making me play it, and I’m not. But when bugfixing it somehow takes precedence over fixing elonian wine (which isn’t used by anyone ever at all, right?) from release until yesterday then we got a problem, and you’re kitten straight I’m madder than Khorne.

Buy mystic binding agents instead until they fix it (Laurel vendor)?

But yeah, hope it’s fixed soon.

Yeah, I’ll get right on that. I need to flip 330 cores so that’s 165 laurels. It’s only about 4 months worth of doing your daily/monthly every time, right?

I wonder how fast it would have been fixed if the price were cut in half instead of doubled.

<- SAD PANDA

You could count on that mistake never making it past QA. It’s funny how bugs like this get fixed instantly if it was half price, but it’ll turn out to be some impossible bug that’ll take forever to fix when nobody really wants it fixed. Apparently fixing SAB bugs takes precedence over tweaking a single value that screws up the crafting of an entire CATEGORY of endgame crafting materials. You know, the ones used for silly things like legendaries and rare, expensive skins. Stuff nobody cares about, really.
