I can easily obtain almost 100 shards on both my chars by completing all the jump puzzles, even the long ones, and doing chests in open world. Yes, that’s a lot of waypointing, but totally worth it if you invest the time. Takes me about 30-45 minutes per char, while pausing for boss events (and dragonite ore) when necessary.

Memory and speed are key. Get in, get out, on to the next chest. Being skilled at jump puzzles goes without saying. Hope that puts a perspective on it for anyone reading.

Just to clarify. One lump of mithrillium requires one ecto. One deldrimor steel ingot or one glob of elder spirit residue requires one lump of mithrillium.

I tear up people in wvw who are undoubtedly geared with ascended trinkets and full exo when I’m in my under leveled char. Ascended trinkets aren’t going to break anything. Period. Skill determines the outcome, not the gear. I can’t believe the outrage people are in over this.

Post a video of you tearing up a fully geared and lvled guy on forum with normal white gear then i believe you.

He’s level 67 and no he’s not in white gear. My point being, Ascended gear with 10% better stats isn’t going to break the game or set the skill bar any higher. It’s based on player knowledge, skill and experience.

And no, I’m not making a video to prove it.

When two guys fight against, one in full Ascended gear one in full exotic and both have the same skill, same class and so on, the full exotic will lose.

Honestly, if you want to show off the size of your E-wiener, that’s cool, but I don’t care.

In one way you can “charge” your burst with Berserker Stance and Signet of Fury, thereby filling up your adrenaline.

I made a guardian because it was one of the new classes of the game. That was enough reason for me. To me, seems like the guardian was Anet’s dream machine of hard hitting spell casting brutality. Works for me.

I started with full apothecary. Now I use a mix of both. Base condition dmg is now 950 before food/buffs. I put 30 in discipline for longbow f1 spam and 5 second weapon swap. Don’t use regen and banner myself but that is personal preference. I stay mobile and use stomp, balanced stance and dolyak signet to gain breathing room and keep on the move as much as possible. That is MY dmg mitigation.

Helps to see some builds if people are going to read through this thread for suggestions. Here’s my example of a S/S LB condition build for reference. The credit goes to someone else however, although I did change out some Apothecary gear for Rabid.

A few weeks back after watching Logi’s WvW movie I was impressed by how much sustain his build had. So, I went into the mists to test it out and found that with the passive healing in the build you can almost literally facetank the forest NPCs.

So, I dropped some coin and crafted the warrior to 80 to give it a shot in WvW. Keep in mind, I am quite literally a noobie warrior. I’m still building muscle memory and learning the animation timing of the abilities to avoid clipping abilities. Mistakes will be made.

I opted for 30 in discipline rather than going with banner regen as Logi did in his video. So, this build is a bit more offensive in nature. Build and gear is at the start of the first movie below.

I recommend conditions if you run with a longbow. Off-hand sword is a must-have. Yeah, direct attacks and final thrust hits softly but that’s not what it’s about. Full condition warrior WILL wreck people if you play it right. But try both and see what suits you best. Good luck.

Runes of the pack + 10 pts in virtues allow myself perma swiftness with staff #3, retreat and save yourselves. I ditch retreat in wvw however as its a useless skill there anyway.

I don’t always pick a favorite slot skill, but when I do I pick them all.

I’ve played a guardian since release, but recently started a warrior and I’m loving it. My question to the community – is there a “standard” build for warriors such as guardians having the standard AH 0.×.30.30.x build. If you play a guardian you’ll know what I mean.

That’s not to say I want to play my warrior like a guardian, I’m just looking for that one build that works for all warriors in general. Something that plays well in PVE and WVW without having to change traits or anything. I’ve looked all over the forums but can’t really find anything like that, but that may be due to the warrior’s diversity over the guardian. There’s definately alot of good builds on these forums but I was just wondering…

Eve online ran fine for me during 1000+ player battles. But then again the game only draws player ships and skyboxes (space boxes?). Guild wars 2 however, oh man. It gets choppy as kitten sometimes even with the best hardware.

To answer #2, Runes of the Pack give +20% swiftness duration and 5% chance to proc 5 seconds of swiftness upon being hit, which happens VERY often in zerg battles. Good stuff.

One does not simply build a DPS guardian with mixed gear.

Which brings me to my next point. Don’t smoke crack.

Guardian is the bees kneez is wvw. No wait, it sucks actually. Anet don’t nerf us plz.

Foofad is right about us being able to tank naturally. My suggestion however is to roam with staff (#3 skill) and DPS with greatsword which is by far the superior pve weapon to use. Just play with it and you’ll see what I mean.

Gear? Well if you want to be more “tanky” you can use toughness or vitality gear but if you’re comfortable with it use damage based gear that boosts power or precision. For your current level there isn’t alot to play with yet. Check out the “post your stats” thread on this forum (sorry for no link but it’s front page anyway can’t miss it). Hope that helps a bit.

I use Precision sigil on my staff to tag everything and stack my crit chance to 45%, then switch to secondary which is usually my GS or Hammer both of which have sigils of accuracy. Runes of the pack on my armor consistently proc Fury in zerg vs zerg fights. Long story short – 50% crit chance + constant Fury means crazy damage. Works for me.

Stability is THE MOST CRUCIAL skill in WvW. If the enemy can’t stop or slow you down, they are screwed. So yeah, wardings are useless against that. Think about it. Zerg vs Zerg who do you think will win in that scenario? Wish I could say it was different, but seriously would ONE guardian laying line or ring of warding stopping a 50 man zerg be balanced? Think you already know the answer to that.

People say if you transmute you’ll lose the ability to upgrade. Others say the opposite but there is little to confirm both sides of that arguement. However in the instance of crafting eternity your twilight and sunrise must be un-transmuted to forge. Hope that puts it in perspective a bit for you. Truthfully the majority agree that Anet will show leniency to players that transmute legendaries given the effort to obtain them, meaning that when ascended weapon stats are patched into the game you’ll be worry free when transmuting.

F2P sucks in this game in the regard that Anet enforces horrible RNG mechanics and DR restrictions. Think about it. They want you to grind the game and play for the long haul so you’ll want to buy the next expansion. More money in their pockets. When you P2P you support a dev company that has a steady income from their player base and therefore creates more player-friendly content that nearly everyone appreciates. Something in exchange for paying to play that you take for granted until you play GW2 for a while and you realize how cruddy the rewards are.

So F2P loses to P2P in my opinion. And if you ask me if the rewards could be better and DR taken away I’d play more alot more often but it’s not really about that is it? I’ve already stopped buying gems and I probably won’t buy the next expansion if there ever is one and that hurts you, Anet, the most. Woah woah, no. It’s about 10 gold per profession average so it’s 100 gold TOTAL – roughly. There’s a guide online with constantly updated prices for mats you can look at to confirm this.

All I have to say about the upcoming changes is thank you. Thank motherkitten god. This is da bomb. Respect to Anet for supporting WvW players this way. It means alot to me and many other players that you will reward people that play WvW exclusively to this measure. You have my greatest thanks and appreciation. It feels good to have the WvW community recognized for their devotion to this aspect of the game. Valid point. Guess if you’re not interested in 50k karma a day and gaining tons of XP and loot wvw isn’t interesting at all :-P

You can’t get full soldier gear from temples (no soldier helmet) but the full sentinel sets are sold in wvw for badges + minimal gold which you ought to have hundreds if not thousands of badges at this stage of the game.

You see, all the waste produced is converted thru magic into mystical forces and in turn transitioned into RNG mechanics… duh!

Crit dmg is a little low for my taste but looks solid. HP is lower than “average” but that’s dependent on your play style.

Yesteday 6/9x gave me clovers but the other 3 gave me 10 corrupted lodestones; 25 powerful blood and 21 armored scales.

Lol. Wish I had that kind if luck when I was purposely forging clovers. Yeah, scales bloods and dusts are the bomb if you get them and I don’t really feel a loss even when I forge clovers at this point cuz I get 10 skills pts a day from wvw and ectos and shards come easy just from playing and salvaging. You really can’t lose in this scenario. Now if you could just do something with all those leftover clovers that would be nice.

The essence of trading implies a person to person exchange in my personal opinion. Another MMO I used to play allowed for this. You could preview and approve the exchange and bam! you were done. It was an official game feature apart from the market. Anets philosophy contradicts this method sadly so we may never see this implemented. 15% sure seems like highway robbery sometimes when your posting expensive kitten for sale so I gotta agree with you buddy.

I think when you take into account all the real money players spend it probably amounts to revenue equal to what many pay-to-play game companies earn. It’s a simple revenue earning tactic. Pay a fee every month just to play or pay x real money in a free-to-play game and maybe get something out of it. Its a tease.

The game, OP lost it, but so have many others including myself. Everyone is guilty wether you knew the consequences or not. May the RNG be with you.

Hey all. I’ve been doing x10 mystic clover forges for chance of t6 mats. I’ve found this to be quite profitable for myself, since chance to gain mats over clovers is 66%. Has anyone else been using this method often? Thanks.

Edit: Also seems relavent to ask since clover chances are the only guaranteed chance to forge or not forge apart from guaranteed rare drops from certain chests. Get what I’m saying?
