a 32bit app is always run via wow64 (Windows 32bit on Windows 64bit)
XP 32bit did something similar with dos/16 bit apps via NTVDM and its WoW subprocess.
all battleping does is route the connection through a specific vpn bypassing a bunch of nodes.
There’s nothing ANET can do if there are congested and/or faulty nodes between you and their servers.
What does Battleping do?
Battleping’s goal is to lower your Ping or help stabalize your connecton for the game you are playing. We provide a connection to our servers which then connects you to your game.
It can provide faster or more stable routing options. The result is a lower latency and so a more enjoyable and rewarding game experience.
you should file complaints with your isp tha their DNS and routing path are polluted.

lolwut
no -_- .
i experienced it after the karka event patch, i haven’t since i started deleting local.dat after every big update.

the particle system in this game absolutely destroys framerates in certain area’s, and its not because of weak gpu’s.
the humming is a soft crash, one that you can get out of by holding ctrl+alt+del and launching task manager from the manager.
Bluescreen and restart on game launch.

both bsods and soft crashes can be caused by the paged and non paged pools being depleted,
when the paged pool runs out, windows stops being able to create references and PTE’s for open files – especially when they are as large as the gw2.dat

because you’re cpu(s) are holding you back.
thread already exists for this issue
310.70 is whql -
They will be released in a few days. It is the same exact version as we have now in driver R310.70. The only difference will be the driver signature from Microsoft.
the geforce page hasn’t been updated yet, while the Quadro page has
i doubt 306 was the fix at all, because i don’t have any glowing textures on 310. More like you had a faulty gw2 profile, because the game has had 2 or 3 new strings added to its nvidia profile in the 310 drivers.

grab the latest version of evga precision if you have it running.
older versions cause a crash because of the overlay

sounds like you’ve got a lot of stuff running on your XP install
you are probably hitting the limits of the windows XP memory pools which is why the bsod occurs

Serious Performance Drop W/ Camera Movement

it does recover though right?
as far as i can tell, this is because the game only fetches the network information for the player characters directly in front of the camera, and has to fetch the rest as you look around.
i don’t see any hdd access (more than usual) when this happens so i expect its network related.
overheating graphics card
try underclocking
its more likely a dns routing issue, try opendns or google dns
appcrash can often be caused by things running in the background
you say you’re using teamspeak? disable the overlay
310.70 is the latest non beta (WHQL)
delete local.dat and try the steps in
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=113433
yeah, i don’t care about anyone elses issue but starvengers in this thread, the rest of you go open your own and provide the same information he was requested of.
starvenger, post an anet log after the guardian crash.
Clyne, pull the battery and test stock clocks with just a power cord plugged in
i’ve heard of a failing battery causing gpu clock instability.
This game actually uses medium to high levels of gpu just rendering the client launcher, so check that your gpu is operating at a stable voltage.
might help to try using kboost or forcing a custom fan profile
black screens = try a different DNS or delete local.dat
take note, you’re in a fairly foggy area.
the kingston should be fine
the trinity apu on the other hand…..
Actually StarAce, the rep was right in a way.
The game is not certified for play on intel, geforce or ati laptop gpu’s.
One would expect these to run the game anyway, as long as they are in good condition, clean, etc.
But laptops have their own set of possible issues that are not as simple to rectify, as the bios’s provided are usually basic and do not allow much configuration change and modern laptops are barely user serviceable.
try using opendns instead
theres just too many people in lions arch atm for a 2.8Ghz core 2 to deal with.
delete local.dat, it usually helps after big updates like this.
blast the slot with a can of air, and clean the contacts of the card with an eraser or isopropyl alcohol

local is local.dat……
People rush to blame the patch (even windows patches get the same flack) because they happen to change a result somehow or another.
Its not even certain that the hardware is faulty, but simply that it could be operating in a configuration thats stable most of the time but only fails in situations of extreme (or even light) load.
A soft freeze, one that can be tasked out of, or simply drops you back to desktop with a error message can often be software running in the background, like fraps or some overlay injector.
A hard freeze, where the system becomes completely unresponsive (even the hdd light stops flicking) would be attributed to system drivers, but usually has something to do with the hardware itself.
Since you just recently replaced the mainboard, you might start off looking at disabling C1E or checking that the memory timings and voltages are configured correctly. You may find more stability by setting a 2T command rate instead of 1T also.
mind posting your specs
best to get a dedicated hard drive for this game as well…..
all signs point to no.
Alright, i’ve just checked over at whirlpool, and you are looking at an ISP issue atm Kirilby
one of the Akamai clusters dodo uses for caching is polluting http connections with corrupted data. Many dodo users have been experiencing corrupted downloads and slow performance in the past 2 weeks.

don’t use general statements like “everyone’s computer”
these issues are mostly isolated to small groups.
Kirilby, If you happen to be in a region of victoria, there are currently some infrastructure issues due to storm damage that was supposed to have been fixed yesterday, but Dodo afaik, is on Telstra’s network and suffers from lazy/poorly trained subcontractors.

I’ve made a habbit of deleting the local.dat after every big update.
Mac users, you have your own board to report client errors
Windows users, clear local.dat and login again.
30KB is kind of slow
is it one of those 3G/Wireless broadband sticks or a land line?
you can check your current ip’s information via http://www.ip-adress.com/ip_tracer/
the page will by default show you your current ip, isp, and make a guestimate of your geolocation

usually this is fixed by deleting local.dat
this will reset any graphics settings however, so you’ll need to set these again aftwards
Kirillby, open up an elevated command prompt and type “ipconfig /flushdns”
hit enter
then enter “ipconfig /renew all” and hit enter
what isp are you on btw, i got the update no problems through iiNet/Google DNS.
indeed kirito, however the idea was in this case to get them off of a spiked DNS pool
the resolution provided at https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Download-fails-at-second-last-file may help you

Sure it wasn’t those 16 updates your windows installed on tuesday.
no?
didn’t think so.
0×0000008E in the video driver is a symptom of non paged pool shortage.
