cached character and inventory information, authorisation data, etc.
you can update your client and copy the gw2.dat right to his/her system.
The only downloading that would occur would be user information to the local.dat.
Never had it happen, but i don’t install games into a system protected folder (or to the system drive for that matter)
Since this is happening alot lately with no fixes being provided (because of its unusual manifestation) can i get you to download Process Monitor and filter GW2.exe using the Image Name filter type, then start the game and save the contents of the Process Monitor window.
If this is too difficult, i can do it for you via a teamviewer session.
Basically i want to use Process Monitor/Explorer to identify what the process does before the hang and compare it against my own log (that has no problem starting the game)
There are a number of faulty Nodes providing bad routing information at this time which would be why there are connection issues and excessive latency.
this would indicate your client is not saving the local.dat file for some reason.
its latency caused by congestion between you and the arenanet servers (or in the anet server itself)
prime95 doesn’t include the heat produced by a gpu thats usually on the same heatpipe/sink
would start off with using norton power erase first
probably a graphics card on the verge of death.

66.162.136.20 belongs to ArenaNet
i think someone screwed up a variable some where to cause drop rate calculations to invert the result, which would explain why magic find gear reduces the rate of good drops.
this is mostly a matter of awsomium not being configured properly for ui scaling.
—> Crash <—
Assertion: A file was corrupted in the archive. Please run once with ‘-repair’!
File 0×4e15 stream 0×0 is corrupt
Raw file 0×00004e15:0×00004e15 has CRC 0xb76cdc56.
Deleting file 0×00004e15
In the case where repairing doesn’t actually work, you might be
*encountering a situation where the client lacks the priv’s to modify the GW2 dat file,
*an issue with the volume bitmap which a chkdsk should resolve,
*physical issues with the harddisk or an
*-antivirus suite intefering with large block writes.
why is gw2 using absolute pt fonts.
can a moderator move this to the correct board [Tech Support]
it looks like a harmless case of broken CSS.
Clyne, READ before posting, he followed up with
“Screen went black, all power shut off. Then it tried to restart itself but went black again before before reaching the “starting windows” screen. This loop continues indefinitely, tries to reboot – goes dead – tries to reboot – goes dead. Had to hold the power button in to break the cycle.
Let it sit over night. The next morning was able to get to the desktop but within 10-15 minutes it was doing the same thing again."
Sounds like compromised cooling to me. take it for servicing or fit a water catching nozel to a compression pump and blast the dust out of it.

Theres something wrong with your driver version string.
You are using Windows 7 according to
Processors: 4 [GenuineIntel:6:15:11]
OSVersion: Windows 6.1 (64 bit)
Which means the beginning of your driver should be 9.18.001 with the 5 numbers after this indicating your installed driver.
Instead, you appear to be using a Windows XP 64bit driver.
Scratch that, you are using an ancient Asus Enhanced Display driver, which is where the unusual version string comes from.
Uninstall it completely from the control panel and install a newer driver from the nvidia site.

because you can zoom in and out of the mini-map -_-
hover over the map, and scroll up with the mouse wheel?
no you shouldn’t
but did you try completely resetting the windows firewall rules to absolute defaults?
or installing the latest Root Certificates?

Where does monitoring the CPU Temp imply in any way, that the GPU is not over heating.
Did you move the location of My Documents?
Noddan, as i asked, did you update the AMD sata driver to the latest?

these sites are probably part of the hacking organisations that are robbing high level chars of gold and gear.

Anyone who uses auto-login, for the game or anywhere on the web, is begging to be hacked.
yeah……. i’d just like to kindly ask you to take that notion and stow it.
what video card are you using.
AMD’s latest drivers have performance regressions unless you update CAP.

did you upgrade your display drivers to the latest and delete local.dat after upgrading?
delete local.dat
its a cache file which if corrupted can cause all these problems.
its not isolated to this patch, delete local.dat and it shouldn’t happen again (till the next major patch)

Move the GW2 executable, tmp and dat files out of Program files and in a folder of their own on the root of C:\ (C:\GW2 for example)
bit of a tip Ashley, XP can’t have Dx10
op, the following link may also be relevant since you’re using XP.

Check that you actually HAVE an sli profile.
the gpu usage might be low but it SHOULD be balanced across both gpu’s.
Are you using an AMD FX (Faildozer) processor?

This seems pretty stupid. I’ve never heard of a slightly-overclocked CPU lowering game performance. I flat out don’t believe it. Anybody else smell the fishyness here?
I have.
Countless times.
Because a bad overclock can cause alot of ECC errors that otherwise don’t result in a crash, or throttling that results in the cpu reducing clocks.
that app only displays the fail-over tolerances, the raw value is what i wanted to see.
when did you last update your AMD sata driver?
try deleting local.dat
worked for me when i got stuck on an endless loading screen.
These bots are likely using a recent speed hack exploit to minimize the harvest duration and then teleport.
that a 8 thread CPU such as your own will cap out in GW2 when its usuage shows ,at lowest, 30%.
thats not my experience, but maps/player load may vary.

I’m sorry but I have to disagree with your logic. If burglars had magic skeleton keys that could open any house, would you suddenly see hundreds of thousands of houses broken into? Nope, that’d just draw attention to the fact there was a hole in the system. They’d target the houses with the most loot and pick those off one by one.
This.
These people are likely making money from these hacks by selling the gold so they won’t do anything to bring attention to themselves.
A person im chatting with right now just confirmed he too was kicked from the game and lost access right after responding to a sus whim.
no friend, they are already IN your account.
alot of ISP bundled modems are total garbage, they have very limited NAT tables and often the cpu inside simply cannot handle the amount of data being pushed through them while also filtering SPI packets(Firewall)
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/guild-wars-2-performance-benchmark,3268-7.html
Sluggishness could be due to cpu throttling, check your temps?

I doubt its a database hack, but more needs to be done to prevent “Support Reset hackings”.
But there is still certainly something odd about the number of people claiming to be hacked right after replying to an unusual whim, and i would never put myself into the possible position of being wrong by saying there is absolutely no way that the chat system could be exploitable,
This game is full of memory exploits as it is, just look at all the hack tools that are still unpatched (compiling with ASLR may help there), So I simply cannot trust any claim that there is no possible network/packet exploits.

Anet need to step up and implement Email and Password change confirmation emails.
Tough crap for the old players who have issues if the email is gone, That’s what support is for.
They could also use gem store purchases as a verification via the paypal transaction id or credit card last 4 numbers.
I bought gw2 from a game store, i am very disapointed with the pvp and do not enjoy playing the game.
IS there any way for me to get a refund.
No.
Games using serial codes are non refundable. (Read store policy).
