With transfers from blacktide (Welcome [RBL], [POL], [RH]) we have some new faces joining the hold – the exodus after season 3 left us bleeding strength and i for one am surely hopeing we can come back to fighting the mid tier silver servers again. We are currently in need of:
- GvG guilds (they all left to gold tier so we cant offer gvg fights atm to servers looking for them :<)
- Essentially a whole morning crew with commander included (well what would GH be with a morning crew?..)

Duel seven times in a row without changing build, Get Mad, Duel again, Change your Build again, go on a Duel Spree, Join some Hotjoins to relax, Change your Build, Duel, Duel, Duel… in 1 week you will be a master of your class, guaranteed
its not like they (warri condi bunkers) take no skill. its more like you can overpower any mediocre build/skills by rolling your face on the keyboard, you mostly dont NEED skill. when you go fight 1v2 or duel an experienced duellist.. it takes skill just like any other build. the usualy shout healing build with longbow has a lot of tools to master and it took me about 2 months to get gud with my rotations, combos and pulling out the tools (blinding shot, immobilize, leap-effects, call to arms, might stacking, fear me) to the right effect at the right moment and im still working on some parts of it (final thrust, movement). because to fight this build enemies need to be skilled AND have a really good build or they are free kills – it generates a lot of hate by people who feel like they have no chance against the build. but yeah:
•acceptable 1v1 and 1vX
•swiftness to allies for running dolyaks
•enough AoE to flip camps fast

from my 3k hours roaming in T8-T5… EU meta is building kitten builds, then when getting #rekt flaming your opponent for building “lame cheese” and “having no skills”. Or gangs of stealthing scrubs who are expert on soft-rezzing and ganking 3v1 minimum into corpse jumping. Decent roamers are so 2013.
warrior build is probably something like the build in my sig – just double swords instead of sword / warhorn. how 10 people can lose against 2 CLICKERS is totally beyond me though. If thats really true they might not be legit or you might be seriously seriously seriously bad. the warrior build cannot take on more then 1 decent player, though it is able to wreck just about anything 1v1 – with ease.

i usually send the blinding arrow first, usually nets a dodge from someone expecting pin down. Also i often try to pindown right when switching weapons, it seems to help aswell. Especially if you are in their face already with the sword and they are in the process of getting away from the steam!
I’m not interested though. And i dont think its any better just because you list some warrior skills. i know them already and i run sword / hammer on my raid warrior. i ran gs / lb back when frenzy & 100b wasnt nerfed and my longbow critted for 8k aoe (from the safety of a wall) and i could melt 3 people in 2 seconds with frenzy gs when they werent alert – it wasnt made for roaming, it was to dominate low-tier wvw in every aspect – clearing siege, defending, taking camps and killing players and it worked as an allrounder. Nowadays damage on zerker is low and in 1vx zerker can go home. Grats on using signet of stamina though, thats a nice choice. But still you are no evasion thief with it and if you get a good crit from a power thief or a phantom you are almost dead. mesmer, thief -those are the classes where i’d recommend building zerker. Power warrior is kinda bad overall these days and going 2k armor melee is just asking to get backstabbed or melted in AC fire. I think the argument “good players dont need toughness” is more aimed at your own esteemed skill level then at the objective viability of your build.

Cygnus is right, they are weak vs condi bunkers – just keep your distance a bit and when they fail their GS burst start loading them with conditions. Havent lost against a medi guardian EVER when playing condi bunker (apothecary shout). They lack sustain and their condi cleanse runs out after a while. Just dont try to faceroll them – play cautious like against engi.

zerker just gets melted in under 2 seconds if you dont see it coming. of course if you have a guardian buddy giving you protection (equals a kittenload of toughness) and other buddies to softrez thats something else…but try soloing as a zerker and see what you get – a bunch of thiefs instant-killing you, some mesmer melting through your health in no time while escaping your gapclosers and even the occasional random ranger just dpsing you down in 3 seconds when you are out of dodges or facing the other direction. Btw i have a big deal of experience too running zerker in wvw – first year or so i exclusively played zerker warrior, mostly longbow & GS… fun if you melt face in a 1v2 but running back from spawn every 10-15 minutes sucks and rallying the enemy because you cant keep your game up under pressure.. tactics in this gameplay is mostly disengageing with GS and then go in for a kill -better roll a thief if you like that. Oh and there is the issue of arrow carts.
I’d say a reasonably good player doesn’t need toughness, because a good player doesn’t get hit. (Unless thief)

they tried to fix it several times, didnt work, think they gave up… so yeah all of those charge skills should be reworked into teleport skills that actually connect. I’m with Burr here – knockdown or no knockdown i dont even care aslong as i dont fly over the next cliff when charging someone.
you can always grab a warhorn to get more supporty. But power-based builds cant really get supporty (in the healing, boon, condi-cleanse sense) without big sacrifices to their dps. And axe leaves you no choice there – its a pure power weapon and begs you to stack crit damage and power – and you need toughness anyways, so no stats left. But you can of course “support” with crowd control – or Firefields from longbow to stack might. Or just bash them to the head with eviscerate and support by making heads roll – “offensive support”! lol.

all depends on your build. my shout bunker can deal with the builds listed but has big problems against zerker warrior / thief.
Trebbing was pretty much only a thing untill the enemy got his kitten together and put some eles on duty. It was actually possible to stop those towers getting trebbed from SM without taking SM. At least it was possible to keep the repairs up with 2-3 people – one running sups and 1-2 using swirling winds or the other way round. You didnt feel completely helpless against siege from the high ground.
I think WvW could be fun again in no time. Sometimes you must acknowledge the stuff you did is bad and press the “revert all” button.
- Remove AOE Cap (most important of all – stop dat blobbing)
- Remove Siegerazer
- Remove delayed white swords
- Unbuff Siege weapons (and nerf them further if needed)
- Remove Siege Disablers & Supply Traps
- Bring back swirling winds and other projectile blockers
- Bring back matchup threads
- Orange Swords at 10 again
- Remove WvW stack buffs (guard masteries)
- Remove Ruins and bring back the lake
What did i forget?

Fair point, i just wanted to mention that there is some regen in the shout healing aswell. Since i dont play spvp i’m wondering – how do you deal with conditions in that banner bunker build? In WvW i have to stack every single cleanse available to be able to go toe-to-toe with a necro / condi engi and thats with trooper runes / shout healing – also making use of both condi-remove sigils – and its JUST enough. Is this condi spam less of a problem in spvp or how do you get by with the lack of condi removal (compared to shouts)?
Shout healing builds can get regen from dogged march, converting poison, other players, even runes – on banner builds regen is all you get. Also discarding the utilities as heal-only isnt proper – fury, might, stun break, condi cleanse, adrenaline generation – all included.

lol that was more then a year ago… newer version of course has fast hands
check the later posts! About too easy… it is easy farming scrubs without condi removal and bad builds.. however it can get hard against a good opponent when your debuffs have to be timed well, your conversions have to hit the right conditions, your condi spikes have to match your might stacks and all that jazz.. the hard thing is beating every last class and build with this one, which i think is pretty much the only warrior build (in the celestial version also) that can deal with everything.

I think shout healing with warhorn nets the highest regeneration possible on Warrior because you get some regeneration boon uptime aswell from dogged march and converted poison. But yeah either at least 2 shouts or nevermind about it. In my opinion you can never have enough condition cleanse… Necros and Engineers (and condi thieves to some extrent) will push your removal to the limits and beyond in 1v1, even with cleansing ire & warhorn & trooper shouts which is about 10-12 removals every 20 seconds.
Hope you enjoy the bruce lee – would love to hear your experience! I find it hilarious
could probably couple the bruce lee build with the confusion trait but its total interrupt overkill compared to the cooldown of the trait. So i think you will want to find a skill that has some similar cooldown to the trait and build around that with high +condi duration and +condi damage.

sword / horn & longbow with shout healing would be the traditional condi bunker, strongest 1v1 spec, viable in roaming – not good in zerging / pve.
When i have real fancies about playing something new i go – Bruce Lee!
Phyisical utilities (traited) bullsrush, kick and stomp – death from above – full zerker – axe/mace and mace/shield. The chain-CC straight to death pleases me immensely xD You can do sick combos like mace 5 → mace 4 → axe 2 → kick → bullsrush → mace burst → stomp → shield 4 → eviscerate → GG. Thats how i have fun as warrior
there is a problem with confusion warri… the condi weapons dont have interrupts and the interrupting weapons dont apply conditions. saw some of those buld using sword / shield & hammer – but it only works in 1v1 and there are better 1v1 builds on warrior – for example the traditional shout bunker without confusion
i just want to make clear why traited warhorn is such a powerfull weapon, especially with shout condi removal:
it converts conditions into boons. someone building a heavy power build will apply vulnerability. you convert that into protection. someone building heavy condition will use poison – you convert that into regenaration. shout condi removal helps with getting the right condition being converted. the converted conditions are the soft-counter to the build you are facing, aka protection or regeneration. in addition warhorn offers very strong anti-conditions:
-weakness pretty much shuts down power users for the duration
-warhorn 4 removes chills & cripples & immobilize -> helps recovering against condi users and pushes that amount of conditions down to help remove/convert the relevant ones.
In addition the warhorn 5 is a blast finisher – yall know what to do with it.
So all this for only 2 skill slots in your weapon bar.. pretty kitten awesome. the only downside is 20 points into the vita line.. you usually dont want that if not running shouts!
well first of all we are going for guaranteed crits so scratch the precision, wasted stat. instead stack toughness, ferocity, healing power when its not possible to stack more power. our natural crit with perma-fury (yup we got that) will be 20% without ANY kind of precision, add precision off-food and a few tweaks and we get up to 30%. thats enough for a non-zerker build. we have SUSTAIN, we dont need vitality beyond from traits and runes of the trooper. put it all into power, some into ferocity, get sigil of more power, power from wvw traits aswell – sick crits on the hammer and you can get a +7% sigil and assassin sword for some decent 40%ish crit rate on your sword set. all this while basically still being close to full tank minus main stat power.

do you run the passive endure pain in the defense tree (i think?) aswell? they cancel each other out.
shout healing should warhorn and its trait, synergies are amazing and perma swiftness…
runes of the trooper and sigil of intelligence are good choices.
can drop cleansing ire for 5 extra points in discipline = fast weapon swap.
the trait in discipline should be the one where shouts give adrenaline.
both shout builds above are rather crappy tbh. first build uses terrible sigils and knights gear. 2nd build terribe mixed gear also sitting on 30% base crit with 2 sigils of intelligence and no fast weapon swap (at least those 2 make sense with each other – but still bad choice
also give FEAR ME a chance if you plan to WvW. so many cliffs.. so good escape, so good setup skill. “on my mark” is pretty bad, even for power builds. Or if no fear me use some stability like dolyak signet, still better then on my mark.

Come keep the Gunnar alive and kicking. With losing our native hero guild [Re] to gold league (there simply were no enemies left to destroy) there is a new slot to get silly amounts of bags (which Re would have claimed).
Players from Ring of Fire, Whiteside Ridge – why not join up with some old friends on GH? A lot of people from those servers switched to GH to get some around-the-clock action and huge fights at primetime.

German and French bronze servers – why not breathe some international air (secret: behind all those english speaking people there are actually a lot of native germans ^^) and see some epic silver battles? Not lagging but not searching for enemy groups aswell!
Gunnar’s Hold is the one surviving ex-Bronze server still up and kicking in Silver League (could be wrong here? but sounds great!) – and we want to continue! The servers that i named have made us strong by transfering people to us, with those guilds and pugs we have pulled miraculous feats like grabbing 2nd from FSP in season 2 (including 4 am morning shifts!) or coming back from a 10k deficit against the morning cappers of Vizunah in season 3. Most of the people that transfered stayed because they liked it on GH And thats why we are still here.
But times are changing, silver is dieing out as a competitive league – GvG guilds moving to gold and all the pugs stacking on the super servers – we are an endangered species! Right now Silver is splitting into the top ranks who are close to gold and can compete with some gold servers – and the close-to-bronze servers who will never return to competitive WvW without a miracle. A miracle is what we need on Gunnar’s Hold to not go down with them. Thus i call YOU! Save us from deprivation, bring new life to GH.
We offer a strong community with a lot of events, open raids and friendly fighters, not only in WvW but also in PvE. Our weak points are morning coverage and pug commanders outside EB – if you can deal with that, you can deal with anything on GH. please consider us, we want to stay and survive as a server and we need YOU to keep the course.

give ppt for kills instead of structures. Add something else to towers / keeps to make them worthwhile having. (buffs, sups generation or whatever).
3.2k – 3.3k base armor is where you really notice how power builds damage becomes less of a danger and more of a nuisance – from my experience.
when the least amount of people are playing.

solutions are:
- time sliced (keeps ur upgrades intact)
- maps locked down in the night (keeps your numbers intact)
- relation amount of players – ppt (keeps your ppt intact)
however anet doesnt see it as an issue even though they know its the wvw players issue no1 since the start of the game. we’ve had threads with over 1k posts about this. and must be in total a few hundred threads about this problem by now. Anet doesn’t see it as a problem and sees WvW as as casual / non-competitive game-mode even though its the only competitive thing in their game (except those few guys rumoured to still plays spvp)
dire vs shout isnt a long affair since dire has no sustain except HS and 15 def regen.. but shout vs shout would never end. just like shout vs heal guard or against almost any kind of non-glass ele.

them lies… dire condi is noob killer but in a real duel against a shout bunker you are without chance to win. either you duelled only noobs or you just made that up, an apothecary shout trooper bunker will wreck a dire SS/LB any time any day without taking so much as a scratch.
silly patch… warrior is now wrecked by conditions when missing a burst.. last good warrior (mandatory) condi cleanse option nerfed to kitten. well i say warrior, but of course i mean power-warriors.. us condi bunkers keep on shouting and using that longbong. guess it will be melandru/hoelbrak and -condi duration food for every last power warrior now.. or get wrecked in the condi meta (lol @ spvp warriors).

bumping for my GH! We increased our prime time strength again, still looking for morning players and PUG commanders during the day! We have lots of pugs looking for a blue hat during the working hours, could it be you? Many a blue hat went from unknown to GH hero with ballads sung in a couple of weeks
Also Commanders during primetime, but be warned there is a lot of guilds rolling and you wont get a map blob ^^ Looking forward to kick butt in the season with possible new people, GH is in good shape for funz and fights at the moment!
Vizunah has night coverage.. but only automated ACs during day.

Well i’ll just keep /facerolling anything that isnt a condi bunker and high 5 to the balance team, you are real Bros.
What i do is building so tanky and so much health regen that they simply give up when they see their 4k backstab crit being passive regened in 4 seconds. some condi thieves stick around, but i can outsustain them aswell. ah.. life of a warrior
use Line of Sight, problem solved… its not like warriors are thieves and cannot be kited.
Gunnar’s Hold has many roamers in groups of 1-5, some pure roaming guilds aswell. Personally i solo roam 80% of the time. You could even say – since we seldom have commanders on GH – most of the server is always roaming :>
