agree, fix para, nerf mace stun to 2 seconds. also fix cleansing ire with burst mastery – 2 instead of 3 conditions removed from 2 bars spent, maybe slightly tone down healing signet base healing.. then warrior is fine. except healing shouts ofc which will be OP next patch. besides that warrior will be able to get slight buffs to underplayed weapons / builds again, but first need to see what builds are still good after removing the broken stun.

Very intense week! For me as a midday commander most epic moment was yesterday when 50 man kodash zerg hit our bay in 2+ hour fight (7 trebs from vale) while AG kept trying to grab the moment with rams, golems and what not on hills. We fought tooth and nail and didnt lose any of our T3 keeps despite Kodash entering Lords Room 2 times. That was hard work! Awesome we could stand against that pressure pulling everything we had, surely one of the most intense battles i had in last weeks.

Special greetings to the Kodash Necro whom i dueled a couple of times earlier in the week. Its rare i meet a defeat in 1v1, well done man

you should really get deep cuts if you are running sword, even double sword! i would drop swiftness on crit for it, using banner and SoR your swiftness uptime should be decent.. i see your build is not totally disregarding power damage aswell, interesting.

dont just splatter nonsense, most of the stuff you mention isnt even in the original post, silentnight.

@red falcon: unsuspecting foe is (and especially will be after para fix) no problem outside mace / gs, the other stuns are 1-2 seconds max, you cant get a lot of swings in there, its even totally ok for an adept trait if there wasnt the ridiculous mace stun.

removing 3 conditions every burst (up to 6-10 seconds) passively from a trait that also grants extra adrenaline is another story though. know any other class that gets something similar? no, some warrior builds get all their condition removal from a single passive trait with increased adrenaline regeneration even, really? i would rather warrior had more options to condition remove instead of one must have trait along with a synergy trait burst mastery that makes it really over the top.

generally there is so few viable warrior builds now because of many things the OP mentioned, still the warrior could use some buffs to other aspects of their gameplay. but this thread isnt about buffs, its about nerfs to things that stand out and are responsible for all the warriors running the same builds.

Only melees should damage gates

Yup and 50 man zerg will not be able to simply kitten down the gate from out of arrow cart range (the ones behind gates, im assuming the ones on walls have been cleared already) if their siege gets destroyed at 10%. Good idea. This would really help with defending outmanned as attackers would have to either get into melee range and eat damage or give defenders a breather by resupplying to build a catapult or some other ranged siege option.

My Idea For Ruins and Bloodlust

My ideas:

- Increase the timer to get the buff to 5 minutes instead of 2, keep starting the counter at 3 ruins.
- Orb buff lasts for 15 minutes while holding 2 or more ruins, then its gone unless 3 or more ruins are held, if so the 15 minutes timer resets. If one or zero ruins are owned, the Orb is gone aswell after 5 minutes of the 15 have expired.
- Get rid of auto-decap and increase the time it takes to decap a point.
- Introduce (small) rewards for capping the points

the argument made by a certain dev was something like “you shouldnt be able to weaken yourself in wvw by disabling the buff for you”… cant say he really tried hard to make a reasonable argument there. or he thought we wanted it to be disabled for everyone, not individually. that would mean serious comprehensive reading problems though, which i find hard to believe. rather the truth probably is they dont give a kitten about gvg and they dont mind if their additions spoil it either.

  • Burst Mastery: Should no longer refund adrenaline, but rather prevent it from being spent at all. This way, using the burst at full adrenaline will only cure 2 conditions instead of 3 when Cleansing Ire is also equipped.

  • Sigil of Paralyzation: Currently broken. Extends stun duration by much longer than intended. Also, should not be able to be stacked to get +30% stun duration, even after it’s been fixed.

  • Healing Signet: Base heal should be reduced. Base heal should be 220-ish with 0 healing power and 400-ish with 1500 healing power. Reduce cast time of active effect to compensate.

nerf seems a bit drastic, 220 is really low – id say somewhere around 300 without healing power.

  • Healing Surge: Heal scaling should be increased for all adrenaline levels and recharge increased to 35 or 40 seconds, to make it on par with Signet of Resolve.

  • Mending: Cast time should be reduced to 1/2 second, like Healing Spring. Should only cure 2 conditions to compensate, and perhaps have its base heal reduced.

agree with cast time reduction, not with the nerfs.

  • Cleansing Ire: Adrenaline gain should be reduced by around 33%.

hmm.. ok maybe with the combination of sor buff:

* Signet of Rage: Passive effect should grant more adrenaline.

* Banner duration should be reduced to 60 seconds, and recharge reduced to around 100 seconds (Warbanner excepted).

what i miss here is a nerf to mace → 100b with unsuspecting foe – but besides that, good choices. i still want the mace stun duration lowered and buffs to mace #3 instead.

There is a trick for handling longbow – the projectile movement is somewhat dependant on your body movement. for example you can fire the arcing arrow or combustive shot, then jump when the cast finishes. that way you can even shoot inside towers over the gate, it also makes it much easier hitting from the wall generally the longbow damage is quite bad against siege (compared to an ele for example), but quite good anti-person. with full zerker you can do insane damage that makes arrow carts be ashamed and leaves people running quick from their rams (on the other hand being a zerker in wvw is a crazy bad idea), with condition builds you can quickly kill a ram user with combustive shot → pin down → fire fan.

well i was just reading the thief forum and look at that, many threads complaining about backstap being OP and a cheap mechanic – from thieves. these are just 2 i picked up on page 1 most recent posts.

i dont even know why killshot is being mentioned if not for the high possible numbers. have you ever seen a killshot-QQ-thread? i havent in a long time, because no warrior runs zerker rifle in WvW, just for the fact he will be instagibbed by thieves all day long. actually no class except mesmer can run zerker just because of the thief class, its how the condi meta came into existence in the first place because only as a condi build you can have toughness not to get instagibbed and do some damage aswell – well, screenshot proves full exotic toughness isnt enough to prevent instagib by a wvw thief.. but still.

If you look at the combat log the whole combo (which is out of stealth) does like 20k damage ON A 3.3K ARMOR TARGET. so how high do your killshots go on that kind of armor? and you write in the vid you kept your health below 50% to get 20% more damage? this is just a random screenshot from wvw, not your super uber highest damage scores ever.. and it does even beat those killshots and isnt even super high for a what a thief could really do AND is on a high armor target. look here a thief hitting higher then your warrior with just backstab http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WPnhX27wrg yay for big numbers.

i know plenty of warriors and other classes who laugh at anything on the forums, but when they get asked for a duel they refuse and you never hear of them again. some difference between having a big mouth on the forum because they killed a few noobs in wvw and actually having a clue about whats possible, only lots of experience teaches what kind of broken builds are possible in wvw, you need to fight them first to see it. i dont know man.. you call 17k+ instant damage out of stealth on a 3.2k armor guy balanced? seriously.. if you read through this thread you can see that this kind of damage is still far from the maximum you can do as a thief and 3.2-3.3k armor is about what you get with every piece of exotic gear having toughness stat on it.

btw there is an edit button, you dont have to make a new post everytime you come up with a new thought.

and the other guy – this thread is about losing 90% of health with 3.2k+ armor to an instant power combo out of stealth – has very much to do with “having your class down” and stuff.. thanks for your contribution! i know only 1 other thing thats as broken as a instagibber thief and thats that insane mesmer burst with vulnerability stacks. but yeah not worth discussing anything, you just have to give up on the idea WvW will ever be balanced, they outright ignore class balance in WvW and probably have a good laugh every time they add more broken stuff like perplexity runes. not to say the balance is really good in spvp, same broken mechanics, but in WvW the custom stats and all the stackable crap makes some insanely lame stuff possible as this thread documents for all to see.

so cute <3 i played tank warrior too in the beginning, you can go toe to toe with most people you meet in wvw. though yes its not optimal against really good players, but for beginner its a solid build with lots of survivability which you need! seraphita maybe try axe? it has good damage – both your weapons arent really good for high damage – sword is condition weapon (and you have only power stat) so it does low damage, and mace hits very slow and hard to land the 3rd hit – with your lots of health and armor and good against condition you dont rely on the stun so much – axe is faster hitting and harder hitting aswell – will increase your damage for sure, i would take it instead of mace! also try putting a little more critical chance – on jewels in trinkets and rings you can get some critical damage and more precision and lose only little armor and health – its a good trade. should get 20-30% white critical chance so with fury boon you are at 50% – half of your swings will be critical.

Thieves with full ascended and using all stackable power buffs from sigils, wvw masteries and whatever (orbs >.<) – hit kitten hard. Because of their stealth mechanism they can go full out damage and still get out of anything. the class has been considered broken for a long time, yet the devs did nothing about it – 4 seconds reveal after attacking is their solution – so you have 4 seconds to kill the thief (while he can dodge / stunbreak at will) or he will reset the fight, its just – great design! The devs totally know what they are doing, thats why there is a very livid competitive scene in gw2. cough cough sorry about the sarcasm, just move on and find your peace in blaming the lamest assassin design a popular game has ever seen in history.

shouts heal more because you can get decent reg uptime without banner if you run traited warhorn and dogged march, i even put 4 dwayna runes for 15 second reg procs. also.. patch incoming to buff shouts.

whatever build i try im always back to my shout / condi bunker very fast – it provides everything… sustain, mobility, damage, condi cleanse, armor.. only stability forces some saddening tradeoffs and control effects are limited to a lot of immobilizes. definately a winner, especially new people who dont want to run back from spawn all the time and still go right in the middle of the fray.

best build i can offer for shout warrior (condi bunker) is in my sig.

the buff is huge for warhorn / shout builds:

- 25% increased base healing
- scaling increased about 15%
- lung capacity finally usefull with warhorn – another 20%.

so make this like a 50% buff to shout builds using traited warhorn.

Stability on shout builds is kind of a problem. You either have to drop a shout for balanced stance which hurts the build overall or spec 30 into defense to get last stand, which as a passive trigger and thus naturally isnt very reliable. On the other hand its really the only downside to a shout condi bunker so i guess we will have to live with it. If id place it on a shout id place it on fear me – 5-10 seconds stability on trigger. As i use fear me to get rid of people rezzing while im stomping this would make a very nice skill to finish people and being on a 1 minute cooldown it still has its downsides.

we got a nice bug too: atm regular points stopped ticking in wvw on our matchup, we have all 3 orb buffs and thus are the only ones to still get points besides some yaks getting to their target or being killed.

my point was you are building yourself passively immune or very greatly reduced to most conditions in wvw – and use that as an argument pro stun warriors – you cant do this with control effects, you also cant stunbreak every 5 seconds! there is only stability which most classes lack sorely and stun breaks are on a huge cooldown in general while a stun warrior can put out 3-4 second stuns every 5 seconds only limited by his adrenaline gain without even counting his other hard CCs while being super tanky and critting like a basterd thanks to that 10 points trait? whats balanced about it? and i dont even know why you insist on being a bad player and yet advising other players to l2p, dont you see those things dont go together very well?

i see you whining about conditions in threads about stuns though. please tell me how i can get passively 98% immune against control effects 100% of the time without using any utility slots whatsoever? i bet lots of people would like to know when they fight warriors. also please tell me you would use zerker stance if it gave no adrenaline with your build and you are actually using it against conditions in your vids.. another l2p post by a hammer warrior – and what exactly do you write in your video comment? “getting carried by my build”? i do believe that.

anyways stun builds will get nerfed a lot next patch so GG to the people that go “l2p”, its already decided – with the fix to sigil of paralysation shield stun loses almost half of its duration, hammer stun loses almost 1/3, mace stun loses almost 1/6.

mini nails it. it was suggested to move this to tier 3 which would force some nice tradeoffs. mace/gs would be kind of unaffected though, thats why mace stun needs to go back to 2 seconds and some other mace stuff needs a buff instead – burst mastery makes all the stunning OP enough – just compare it with what other classes get.

this kuora guy is some of the worst troll in all the forums and posting l2p in every topic nevermind the content. just ignore him. mace skullcrack is impossible to dodge, it has no cast time. also good luck with dodging shield stun with its half a second cast time. the only stun that can be easily dodged is hammer stun but no proficient warrior uses it as an opener just for that reason.

yeah mesmer is about all that stands a chance against them in spvp (maybe a good evasion thief could do something aswell, but i seldom see those), but compared to wvw they have weaknesses. in wvw they are completely out of control with cavalier gear and -condi food. thank god you need to grind cavalier armor in fractals like a madman or every stun warrior would run those. the ascended slots are available though, so expect more and more of those imba wars to appear.

last time i didnt need any of those so i dont think your conclusion comes naturally. also i encountered such trees before that log waterfall and there always was a way around them. now that you say it the signs make sense, but the trees there didnt have any signs, only some previous trees that i could find a way around, but why for example isnt there a free candle in the shop right next to that spot? i even checked the shop for usefull stuff.

i finished world 1 and beat the toad king last time SAB was on – i dont have no candle or torch now. im not going to replay the other zones and farm baubles just to progress through a bunch of trees in my way, because i dont like farming. what does trees that block my way have to do with being directionally challenged? why isnt it possible to use the bombs on the trees for example? why would i need to go back and get items just to go through some trees? i dont like farming or replaying content ive already beaten so thats why i dropped it there.

i was just picking up where i stopped on first SAB – world 2 zone 1. and there is trees blocking my path, seems there is nothing i can do? throwing those bombs that are near from the hillbillies doesnt do anything and i cant jump around them either? whats wrong?

they didnt give them what they needed. what they needed and asked for was sustained healing which they got just recently – what they got first was a sick buff to bursting (read stunning) and condi cleanse on bursting – nobody asked for that ever, well yes the condi cleanse because warrior was very lacking in that department without warhorn or soldier/shout build, but not the buff to bursting.

i fear we will look back to this day and remember the good old wvw as it is now – Jan 2015

this would be hilariously OP with perplexity runes and distracing strikes – putting 8 stacks of confusion on anything around the warrior on a 7-8 second cooldown, lol! the warhorn has another very strong defensive tool besides vigor and condi cleanse btw – call to arms gives weakness for 6 seconds – use it to shut down power bursts.

scoob go duel a bit in king of the hill where duellists play and hammer / mace&gs warriors destroy people except a few mesmer builds – instead of stomping noobs and then come back if you have problems and stop supporting clueless elitists talking trash in this forum. also you run stun build yourself – lol. might i remind everyone that stun builds WILL GET NERFED NEXT PATCH (sigil of para fix) so its clearly not intended to be as powerfull as now.

4116 armor on that warrior in the video? hard to believe. also what kind of bunker build inflicts vulnerability running a condi setup? what is his exact build? i think he made some bad choices in the build so this video doesnt represent a good banner bunker spec, nvm his skill level.

nice build, though very niche.. but i think condition builds are better for this kind of high heal aiming if you are not strictly running support with an organized team, target lockdown with a good group that does the dps for you – you can actually kill people on your own with conditions and its not very hard because of bleeds and burns, and i heal the same as you. the reason is you need only 1 stat for condition damage – condition damage – while your build is a power build which actually needs power, precision and critical damage to do good damage. so you trade off damage for heal while i trade off pretty nothing ^^ have a look at the build in my sig of course i had to drop spiked armor which was pretty cool against those warriors axe 5 and thieves trying to daggerstorm – but all in all i feel this is a lot more powerfull now on the condi side – except if you insist on being support only. also it has mobility because it uses sword. however if i wanted to make a hammer / mace build it would look similar to yours, but i would definately spec into unsuspecting foe and would drop either spiked armor or inspiring shouts – 50% crit chance is just too nice for a double stun weapon setup (even if you dont use shield).
